“Inevitable is a modern-day take on Romeo & Juliet with a much more satisfying ending.”
The job was clear: Get in, get what I need, and get out.
It should’ve been easy.
It could’ve been effortless.
I wasn’t supposed to fall in love with the enemy’s daughter.
Long raven hair and dark mischievous eyes drew me in. Her feisty attitude and caring heart kept me there. Her pain called out to mine … to mine and out souls entwined. Now I’m in so deep, I don’t know which way is up.
If my father finds out, we’ll be next on his list.
I’ll do anything in my power to protect her, but how can I keep her safe when I’m the one I need to keep her safe from?
Eva doesn’t know it yet, but she’s playing the part of Juliet in this twisted tragedy.
And our final act is inevitable.
REVIEW
“This was an absolute 5 star read, I had it in my hands every chance I could get. The story was written beautifully, and we really got inside of the characters heads.” — Caroline O’Sullivan, ARC Recipient
“Amazing chemistry between the main characters, secrets and twists, an actual strong female main character, and a very good amount of steam.” — Themreadsbooks
“A real, sweet, intense and passionate story that catches you from the first pages.” — Stela Sparrowinlove, ARC Recipient
“Badass heroine- check. Hottie hero- check. Off the charts chemistry- check. Forbidden romance- check. Angst- check. Suspense- check. Kristen has outdone herself. This book was killer!!” — SJ Sylvis, Author
“A great read for those who love a darker, edgier romance with lots of action… and a kick ass heroine!” — Nikki J Summers, Author
“Inevitable is a take on Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet and Kristen did a great job of filling in those shoes. In previous renditions Juliet isn’t as forward and ballsy as Kristen’s “Juliet” (aka Eva). Kristen’s version is my kind of heroine.” — Colleen Young, Author
“The ones we love we hurt the most, and in this angsty retake on Romeo and Juliet it’s more true than ever. Betrayal is everywhere and no one is left unharmed. Oh holy hotness, You don’t want to miss this gem!” — Sonja Ton, ARC Recipient

Eva and Graham are a match made in hell, because they are not meant to be. It has to be that way when she is only a means to an end for him.
The attraction is raw and emotional, the soul deep connection is instant and however hard they fight they can’t win this battle.
The ones we love we hurt the most, and in this angsty retake on Romeo and Juliet it’s more true than ever. Betrayal is everywhere and no one is left unharmed.
Oh holy hotness, You don’t want to miss this gem. I know I’m craving more.
Inevitable is a fast-paced, addicting romance that gives off major Romeo & Juliet vibes. I was hooked on Graham & Eva’s story immediately and once I started I couldn’t put it down.
The chemistry between these characters is off the charts, and I couldn’t get enough of the banter between them. From the very beginning, the pull between Graham & Eva is undeniable, and even with secrets between them, I was crossing every finger and toe that they could get their happily ever after.
I loved these characters, the storyline is perfectly paced and the drama is the exact amount needed for this story. Fun and sexy, it’s an easy read and I really enjoyed it! This was my first book by Kristen Granata, and it definitely won’t be my last!
Wow Eva is one tough as nails heroine I really loved that, it not everyday you get that in a romance novel. This is my first time reading anything by Kristen Granata and I’m not sorry. This is not the normal girl meets boy feel good romance. This book had some teeth with the whole forbidden modern day Romeo and Juliette thing. Eva and Graham go through a heck of a lot in order to be together and it definitely keeps the pages turning throughout the book.

Both characters are wonderful and strong and kick-ass in their own right. Together, they are magnetic, and their chemistry is off the charts. u2063
The supporting cast of characters also play a big role in this Romeo and Juliet-esque story.u2063

“It’s not about the amount of time you spend with someone.”
“What is it about then?”
“It’s about the quality of that time, if you’re truly listening to what people are saying, even when they’re not saying anything at all. You have to listen in the silence too. That’s when people speak the most.”
This story was heart breakingingly beautiful. Inevitable is a modern day Romeo and Juliet inspired story between two young people caught in the middle of a fued between two families that run deeper than either of them can imagine. This story had heart, fire, heat, passion, angst, pain, suspense & tackled some heart breaking issues. Unlike Romeo & Juliet this had a much better ending
Graham was such a conflicted yet strong, caring and loyal guy. I loved how selfless he could be and how he would do anything for the people he cares about even if it means sacrificing what he wants in the process.
Eva was sassy, funny, compassionate, confident and a total badass who was also vaulnerble, misunderstood and was left feeling confused and lost while trying to understand the loss of her brother and the sudden breakdown of her family
Graham and Eva both have a strong instant attraction towards each other but for different reasons they try not to act upon it. Their chemistry and fire grows more and more each page and together they were fire. Both of these beautiful souls were perfect for each other and I loved how much they encouraged each other and how much they cared. I loved watching them open up to each about everything they were going through and breakdown some of those walls they had in place.
This was my first read from Kristen and I really enjoyed it and can’t wait to read more
TW mentions of depression and suicide
Inevitable is a new Romeo and Juliet inspired romance by Kristen Granata.
Graham has been trying to get out under his father’s evil thumb and after this one last job he should be good to walk away and still support his sister and niece. His job is to find out dirt to bring down his father’s enemy while posing as his daughter Eva’s bodyguard. He immediately discovers that she is so much more than meets the eye and the there’s no dirt to find. In the end when the truth come to light can Eva look past all the lies and deceit in order to forgive Graham.
I’m a sucker for a tough guy on the outside who has a sensitive center so Graham is quality book boyfriend in my opinion. He was stuck in a crappy situation and trying to make the best of it. The intensity of his emotions when it comes to his sister and quickly Eva are beautiful. He sacrifices his chance to have her in order to do what’s best for her. I had trouble connecting with Eva but her backstory with her brother hurt my heart. Together though they were really great at getting each other to let down their walls, and making each other smile. I loved that he held off being intimate with her because he knew he was being dishonest. They were sweet, angsty, and passionate when they finally came together. In the end I really appreciated that Eva took the time to focus on herself and didn’t immediately forgive Graham for everything that happened.
Overall, Inevitable was a great romance with a little of everything. Enemies to lovers, steam, passion and the right amount of drama.
Poor Eva. She has suffered so much. And so has graham. Under the horrible thumb of his father. He is stuck trying to make a living to help out his sister and niece. Eva lost her brother and then her mom and now she is angry at the world. Watching graham and her grow towards one another was so adorable and so hot. He knew he was stuck. He didn’t want to do his father bidding but he needed the job for his sister and niece. But he risked it all to give her the last piece of her brother. Then to learn the connection his father had to evas brother. Wow. Loved how they saw each other.
I loved this modern day Romeo and Juliet, insta-love romance. Kristen hooked me in from the first couple of pages and I couldn’t wait to find out how this story was going to play out. It was heartbreakingly beautiful and full of suspense and twists and turns that I didn’t expect. I loved the chemistry between Graham and Eva. And even though she didn’t want him to be her bodyguard, she came around in the end and realized there was a lot more to him. They were both caring and encouraging to the other. Graham was selfless and would put the happiness of others above his own. Even though my heart broke for them, after everything they went through together, they got their happily ever after.
Inevitable by Kristen Granata delivers a scintillating story about star crossed lovers in a way I’ve never seen before.
Inevitable starts with Graham’s father setting him up to be the bad guy, all in the name of unfounded revenge. And it’s Eva who gets stuck in the middle.
Graham knows he shouldn’t, but doing his father’s bidding is more than about him. So, he is shoved into Eva’s world through manipulation. But that does nothing to change how he feels about her when they first meet, or the burgeoning feelings.
Everything from the very start of this book was inevitably good. Even in the first few chapters of the book, I wanted to scream at Eva and tell her, “girl all this anger you feeling, the intensity, it’s called sexual chemistry”. But, I let her figure that one out herself.
Of course, things boomerang when certain hidden intentions are unravelled, and the burgeoning of things between them is threatened.
I have to confess that I went it into this thinking I would get a cliched star crossed novel that I would still enjoy. I was more than happy to have been wrong. This is no cliched Romeo & Juliet retelling, albeit inspired by it.
This romance story was a unique one in its own right, creating its own version of star crossed lovers; while tastefully keeping us in suspense of the boomerang effects stemming from lies and secret intentions we knew would come out eventually.

h: Evangeline
H: Graham
This story starts out as Graham’s father wanting revenge on an old friend who stole from him. Graham is supposed to pose as the daughter’s body guard. Graham’s father has two of his thugs scare Evangeline and rough her up a little bit in order for her father to feel the need to hire a body guard. Graham follows Evangeline around and slowly starts to see that she’s not a prissy fancy pants like he thought she was going to be. As Evangeline and Graham open up to each other about their dark pasts, Graham finds it hard to resist giving into Evangeline.
Overall, this was a good read. This book gives you some feels when it comes to both Graham’s and Evangeline’s tragic pasts and how they seem to connect through sharing the pain. I found this book to be a bit juvenile for me. It didn’t tickle my fancy. I wasn’t a huge fan of the ending. I thought it was an interesting route the author took, after a near death incident, Evangeline doesn’t automatically forgive Graham for his wrongs so they can get a HEA. Props to the author for going a less traveled route- Evangeline waits for Graham to wake up, tells him how she feels and walks out moments later. The couple stays apart for over a year, which I had some questions about but they do end up getting their HEA. I really enjoyed the way these two ended up finding their way back to each other as neighbors!
Favorite quotes:
”My father.” She laughs. “Let a strange man into your home while your daughter is naked in her bed. Father of the fucking Year.”
I cock an eyebrow. “You sleep naked?”
Redness tinges her cheeks. “Get. Out!”
Montalbano steps into the room, his eyes jumping from broken thing to broken thing, not yet realizing that his daughter is the most broken thing of all. -Graham
That’s the hardest part about being hurt by the one you love. The feelings you once had don’t just dissipate. They mix with new feelings of anger, hurt, and resentment, creating one fucked-up concoction inside your mind. -Evangeline
As usual, Kristen writes from the heart. Each story (I’ve read) either left me in hysteric’s, or has had me holding my breath after emotional roller coaster I’d been on. This book oozed charm, charisma from the premise to the characters. Love Kristen’s storytelling abilities. Love her telling of Graham and Mia’s story. Love the modern spin on Romeo and Juliet with a twist. All-in-all thought it was a fantastic read that I would read again or buy for a friend.

“She doesn’t know it yet, but she’s playing the part of Juliet in this twisted tragedy”
This book is a modern day Romeo and Juliet story with shocking twists and turns that will keep you invested from start to finish. Caught between feuding families, Eva and Graham have huge obstacles standing in their way to happily ever after. I love how engaging this story was and how it touched on tough subjects that need to be spoken about more. I loved how Eva was not your typical heroine. Eva has tattoos, rides a motorcycle and is one heck of a fierce and independent woman. I loved how she stood up for what she wanted and never backed down. Graham for his part was so charming and kindhearted but he went through a lot in this novel and he battled with himself a lot over standing by his family and moving on to be with the one he loves.
This story drew me in immediately and I found myself constantly thinking about it. I loved the twists and turns of the story. I never could have predicted how this story was going to unfold and until the last chapter I wasn’t sure if Eva and Graham would get their happily ever after or if they would be destined to be apart forever.
I highly recommend this book. It will give you all the feels. This book has an engaging storyline and relatable characters that will capture your heart.
This was an incredible read. Eva is biker-chick who doesn’t fit the rich-girl world she belongs to and Graham is a PI with an ulterior motive. Their meeting is not by chance but the feelings that for overtake them throw them both for a loop. They’re star-crossed– doomed love trying to survive. I love the modern take on Romeo and Juliet and I’m a fan of the HEA. Even though YA, I enjoyed the mature twist at the end. It was sexy, sweet and explores the complicated relationships we have with our parents, siblings, and lovers.
Can I also just say I loved Granata’s writing style. Sharp. Never skipped a beat.
I was given this book by the author in return for an honest review
This was an absolute 5 star read, I had it in my hands every chance I could get. Was a real easy fast read but with a lot in there. It had twists and turns, it had a lot of love and hate and an amazing 2 lead characters. The story was written beautifully, and we really got inside of the characters heads.
!! The ‘Big guy’ was absolutely 100% kick ass amazing! What a strong character he played!! He was a man of mystery and underneath the job he was doing he was absolutely loyal, caring, thoughtful, loving, insightful oh and HOT
Eva, well she was a girl after my own heart, sassy, strong willed, independent with strong beliefs and morals. This girl takes no nonsense from anyone and that’s how it should be.
This pair came together in unusual circumstances and they just had off the charts chemistry!! Unbeknown to Eva their families had a shares history, that was going to bring everything she believed tumbling down.
Can they overcome their past? Can Eva deal with all the suffering and heart break she has suffered? Can she forgive? Read it and find out.
I am so privileged to have been given this book, thank you so much.
