What an introduction to a new author!! I adored this novel and am a new huge fan of C.J. Fallowfield. This book has it all! It makes you feel all the feels (producing those mystery drops running down your face), steamy reads, a great message of survival and beating the odds, and a romance to die for between some amazing and strong characters. I am positive this is a book for the avid erotic romance readers, and you will find it so easy to devour in a quick one sit read!
The main focus falls on Castle and Alex, both characters that will become so alive you would think they jumped off the page and began acting out the novel before your very eyes. This is one of my favorite types of books to read.
Both Alex and Castle have a very difficult and painful past. Each is different but have made them who they are today. When the two meet they find an attraction between them that will change them forever. They never expected that they would find a person they could feel for. It is an emotional and twisty roller coaster that they embark on in their journey through the novel. One that I was never sure of, constantly torn between loving that I am feeling the feelings they are and being frusterated for the characters as well. Then there are the scenes that had me wanting to destroy my kindle. I was so intrigued though that I kept reading and was blown away.
I just can’t bring myself to share any more about this novel because I feel it would really ruin the experience for a reader. Each piece of this puzzle will fall into place perfectly. My only sadness is that this is a standalone novel, so I a not sure that we will be getting more of these two. I do know I will be finding more of C.J. Fallowfield’s work to devour regardless of there being another book coming or not.
I didn’t think any book would top TORN by C.J. Fallowfield. However, Inescapable might just be on par.
Whilst the book covers domestic violence it is really well written.
When Alex is given the chance to escape from her past by a stranger called Tate. Little did she know what would happen and what horrors still in the dark. She has her secrets that’s she will not share. But so has Tate.
I loved this story and hope that we can have more like this from C.J Fallowfield in the future.
I’m kicking myself, this is only the second book I’ve read by this author (the first a lighthearted, sweet rom-com). Inescapable is a very different book to that, but it grabbed my heart and didn’t let go. It’s dark at times and there are parts hard to read. There are triggers for some, but it’s a wonderfully written story full of emotion and realism, that doesn’t put all of its focus on the past (although the author paints a vivid picture of the trauma Izzie/Alex has endured). Instead it’s about survival, how a broken soul can heal and learn to live again, to trust and open themselves to love with the right person.
This was not an easy journey for Alex or Castle, both of whom had suffered painful pasts. Although there was insta attraction and smoking hot chemistry, I loved how the author didn’t rush their relationship or indeed Alex’s fears and insecurities. They were so real it broke my heart, knowing this happens in reality, but CJ Fallowfield captured Alex’s emotions, her fears, her curiosity, inner strength and indeed her innocence to a normal relationship perfectly.
Tate Castle turned me into a puddle of goo. He was gorgeous, how he handled Alex was incredible, he was patient, caring and even when his own issues threatened to overwhelm him, he was perfect. Such self control, I loved him and the way he helped Alex see how strong and beautiful she was.
This book had everything, suspense, drama, angst, tears, sweet tender moments, steamy sexiness and some well timed humour to balance out the tension. I definitely need to read more by this author because this was page turning excellence!
I loved this story of Alex and Tate.
In the beginning, I was unsure of this book because of the use of slang etc. but then it got really good. What Alex went through with Richard was heartbreaking and devastating. But then she meets Tate and although things are not perfect, it seems that this might be the man that makes her change her view of the male species.
I recommend this book!
Although there are many authors I read religiously; I am always looking for new authors to fall in love with. I’ve found her! Though a difficult subject matter to include in a book, it provides the intense set up for this romance novel. Alex and Tate are the main characters who this reader kept fingers crossed; they would rise to the challenge of healing, surviving, thriving with someone who cares and loves! Difficult to read some areas, but soul warming as well. Ms. Fallowfield has a new fan!
Inescapable by C.J. Fallowfield is the story of Tate Castle and ‘Alex Bishop’.
‘Alex’ in a earlier time in her life met Richard King who she thought was going to be her prince but instead became her jailer and abuser. Alex did get away attempting to start over with a new life and she then meets reclusive Tate. Tate to has a sad past that has turned him into himself but there is a connection and some sparks between the two that set them on their path. But the past doesn’t stay there for long so this does have some drama in their story.
This does have trigger scene so for those who are sensitive to that may not want to get this book.
**I received a copy of Inescapable from Net Galley in exchange for a voluntary and honest review. My opinions expressed below are mine alone and not solicited in any way.**
Inescapable by C. J. Fallowfield is a heart breaking wild ride from start to finish. This is the first book I’ve read by this author and I’m anxious to read some of her others. You’ll definitely either cry with Alex Bishop or want to do terrible harm to Richard King her ex-husband for his physical and emotional abuse that he does to her. But when she escapes and is able to reinvent herself as Alex Bishop, her paintings will be how she’ll heal her mind body and soul and also will be able to find true love and a family with Tate Castle and his daughter Rosie. You’ll fall in love with Alex’s friends Sharon/Shaz, Tom, Janice and of course Tate’s security head Alves.
Tate Castle finds Alex Bishop during one of her art gallery shows but it will be his daughter Rosie and Bear who’ll find her first. Tate has emotional scaring of his own as his wife committed suicide and he’s vowed never to let his heart be broken again but will Alex find a way into his heart when he offers her a dream painting contract on his island in the British Virgin Islands? Will he do anything to protect her when they are forced to return to London after a hurricane? Can Alex and Tate will find healing and love with each other and defeat the monster haunting Alex?
Follow Isabelle through her journey from a orphaned daughter to her first love which she barely lives through and a rebirth of herself through art to a healing of body and soul with Tate Castle in Pepper Island, British Virgin Islands. Prepare for an emotional journey though as this book is well deserved 5 stars and many more.

This book is outstanding! It is the first book by this author that I have read and it certainly will not be the last. What I will say is that this book had everything in it that I love. It was a real page turner and I just didn’t want to put it down.
I loved the characters, the emotions, the story….. in fact there is nothing that I would want changing. The angst and anticipation was particularly enjoyable for me. A book that would recommend without hesitation.

M/F Romance
Triggers: Torture, physical and emotional abuse, stalking
Richard has a narcissistic personality disorder that is so deeply engrained that nobody sees it coming until it’s too late. He preys on Isabelle and never looks back. Despite how naïve Isabelle is and how her friend, Shaz, reacts to her best friend’s new relationship, you sense that something just isn’t quite right.
Years later, you have Alex Bishop, a successful artist. She is an amazing artist with a past that she would like to keep to herself. Fallowfield does a great job of painting the picture of Alex’s new life and ability to hide in plain sight. Alex’s friends are wonderful and definitely add to the story – without them, you wouldn’t get to see the fun side of Alex. You’d be left with only the serious side and the side that is constantly looking backwards.
Then you have Castle. He is the epitome of knight in shining armor. While he has a secret of his own, he can’t help but be drawn to Alex and her work. He is used to getting what he wants and when Alex poses an obstacle, he does what he knows – he does whatever he can to convince her.
What follows is a story about love, finding yourself, and letting go of the past. These two share a past that is full of sadness, but they also want to find something more, something better. It’s this drive that they share which allows this story to be so successful.

Wow, this is not a light read in parts, that is for sure – do heed the warnings, as there are some very disturbing and frightening elements. Isabelle makes an ill-advised decision which she nearly pays for with her life, and years later there is still danger from the man she trusted.
We get a complete picture from the beginning of just what befell Alex in her previous life, and it certainly ramps up the fear factor. I had to stop reading more than once, because I just did not want the bad to happen. Sometimes with good reason, others were brilliantly plotted, and the danger passed. I really couldn’t see how the long-term future could be bright, but thankfully the author knew just how to play with the reader’s emotions right to the end.
It was difficult not to adore Castle from the very beginning, and it was wonderful that he was so sensitive, and caring, as well as principled and controlled. His priorities were sound, and his finances ensured that Alex had the very best chance at recovering herself and bringing him back to life too. The fairness of the situation made the story all the stronger.
Enjoy them fall for each other, working out the ways in which their relationship could work, and combining their needs and desires. I definitely recommend this book to you but do expect to get caught up in the drama, and maybe don’t read it just before bedtime – I woke with a start last night thinking he was back!

Inescapable, an Erotic Romance novel written by C.J. Fallowfield is filled with suspense, romance, and enough darkness to want to read more and more. The book was so intense at times, that I was able to read this book in one sitting, I had to find out what happened. Alex and Tate, will pull you into this story and not let you go. Alex rises above her abuse and her demons to become a strong lady we all know she is and when Tate enters her life, things around her start falling apart. The attraction she has to this man throws her, but the passion these two create is OFF the CHARTS!!
I think the C.J FAllowfield gave us an amazing read and one that I knew I wish I could more and more of. The story line, strong characters, and suspense was the prefect dose to keep readers needing and wanting more. This was my first read by this author and it will not be my last.
Great read
Inescapable by C.J. Fallowfield is an amazing gritty read that had me hooked from the very beginning and kept me hooked to the very end. This book is packed full of pain, heartbreak, drama, and survival. The author did an amazing job with her character development and made me just want keep learning more about both Alex and Castle. This book does contain material that could be a trigger for some so caution should be used. I recommend all readers be over the age of eighteen due to adult language and adult content. I give this book 4 stars.
Inescapable by C.J. Fallowfield was a great read! This was my first book by this author and I was not disappointed. This book had me on the edge of my seat from page one and I didnt want to put it down. The characters were realistic and made me want to be in their circle of friends. I really enjoyed the writing style and cant wait to read more by this author. I give this book solid 5 stars.
Inescapable by C.J. Fallowfield is a suspenseful erotic romance that according to the writer ‘pushes at her boundaries of how dark she is prepared to go with her writing’ and I have to say that her boundaries are as far as I can go as well as the topic of her story, the domestic abuse, is something that needs more exposure and stories like Inescapable play a big role here …
Inescapable is the story of Alex who is haunted by the horrible domestic abuse she suffered for too many years … her demons have caught up with her in London and her time has ran out … She meets Tate Castle who has his own demons he has been fighting with for the last few years and their connection is instant … they get pushed together when Tate offers Alex refuge in his Caribbean island.
Alex and Tate take us on an emotional roller-coaster and I cried and I laughed and I kept my fingers crossed for Alex … the pain they experienced … it breaks your heart … you hope that they are the ones that can ease each other’s pain …
It is one of the most profound books I have read lately and it gives us all hope that there is light after darkness and we can survive anything …
CJ Fallowfield is a fairly new author to me and I’ve loved every book I’ve read so far. Inescapable had me hooked from the blurb, and this amazingly, talented author didn’t fail to deliver the gripping and emotional story I hoped for. This wasn’t an easy book to read, especially as I’m a survivor of domestic violence/abuse myself, but the author shows how you can heal and move on from something that has the power to destroy you if you allow it to. I was taken on a real emotional roller-coaster ride with this inspiring and well written story which gives you two characters who take a small piece of your heart with them when you get to the end of this 5 star read. If you want a book that pulls you in and has you turning the pages quickly to see what happens next, then this is definitely the book for you!
Inescapable by C.J. Fallowfield
5 Stars!!!!
This is a very darkish book at the beginning. The whole book was very unique and had me glued to the pages. I again have found a new author that I find quite refreshing and unique.
The things that Alex endured in the beginning of the book I thought were handled quite well by the author. There are parts of this book that are quite dark but are written really well. I really liked the way the author wrote Alex and Castle’s romance in. There were many twists and turns and dramas in this book and each one was written with the due care and grace of the subject matter no
matter how grim. This book is a very well written book that highlights that one can come away from and move on from domestic violence. I look forward to reading more from this author in future.

4-star review
Inescapable by C.J. Fallowfield is a romance story that had me sitting on the edge of my seat the whole way through. From the very beginning I was pulled right into this heart wrenching storyline, it was so vividly detailed that I could easily picture everything playing out in my mind, which certainly made it entertaining. This story is dark, haunting, romantic, funny, and so full of suspenseful moments, moments that had me holding my breath wondering what was going to happen next and reading this book in one sitting.
I love how this author managed to keep me engaged even with the many time lapses. Though I’m not always the biggest fan of time lapses I found that they really worked with this storyline. I loved how realistic Alex’s story was and how well her character developed throughout the course of the story. This was my first book by C.J. Fallowfield but it certainly won’t be my last, I look forward to reading more of her work in the future!
The emotions and chuckles that this book evoke are INESCAPABLE. I do not want to give anything away so will be carefully wording this review.
First the storyline: Well plotted, flowing from point a to point b in a way that held my attention, caused me to hold my breath and cheer people on. The beginning of this story does have some domestic violence which I think was written in a tactful way. It gets the point across without being overly graphic.
The characters: All are well written, equally complex and multi layered. No character’s role is wasted. There are others I want to know more about (Tom, Alves and Shaz).
Humor: Mixed in with the seriousness of the book are fantastic scenes with humor. One of my favorite… “I eat danger for breakfast… Actually, I eat Coco Pops for breakfast. No, that’s a lie too. I don’t eat them, I leave them sitting in a big bowl of milk, until they unleash all of their chocolatey goodness into it. Then I strain the annoying cereal bits out and drink the delicious nectar.”
Romance: Swoon worthy & plentiful
This is actually on of my top five reads of 2018. I highly recommend it.
Inescapable by CJ Fallowfield
5 out of 5 stars
My goodness gracious. Hot. This book comes barreling out of the gun. Let me preface this by saying that this book does have some sensitive topics, one of which is domestic violence so if you have a tender heart, please read with care, but if you are like me and like to dive right in and love when your heartstrings get yanked on, just to have your heart flutter, fall and then scooped right back up, then this book is right on the money for you. Alex and Tate are two incredibly well thought out characters. Their difference balance them out well and the magnetism that draws them together is so strong and undeniable you can feel in through the pages of the book. I was sure at one point my kindle was going to catch on fire from the heat that was coming off of these two. My heart broke when I read about Alex and her past, but knowing where she is now, and you will know too after you read the book, you will jump for joy.

Inescapable written by C.J. Fallowfield and it is a dark read so if you have triggers for emotional and physical abuse please don’t read… This was a great read the characters are remarkable and strong with what they have overcome and didn’t let life l
Keep you down. I loved the way this author described some of the beautiful scenery I could imagine myself there.
Alex Bishop is haunted by the ghosts of her past and soon her past is back with a vengeance so she flees from London, but soon finds that she can’t outrun her demons.
Tate Castle is a reclusive billionaire and he enters her life as it begins to spiral out of control, and the primal attraction that flares between them knocks her world off its axis and it couldn’t be at the worst time. His proposition seems to be the answer to all of her problems, but her acceptance will change their lives irreparably.
Suspense, drama, and passion follow them from the capital to his idyllic Caribbean hideout, as they struggle to reconcile their mutual desire with the deep emotional scars they bear.
Alex is quickly dragged back into her worst nightmare, where she has to fight for what she desires, and her very survival. Will she win?
Can Alex resist Tate or will she give in? Can Tate keep Alex safe or will her past catch up to her? Will they have a happily ever after?
Inescapable is a standalone erotic romance novel with suspense that I highly recommend….
By Tracy
Inescapable by C.J. Fallowfield is just mindblowing. This thrilling erotic romance is full of suspense and desperation and definitely pulls at your heartstrings. It will also have you seeing red and feeling murderous at what a psychotic monster will do. There is no chance of putting this book down once you start reading it and if you have to, you keep it constantly in your mind until you get back to it.
This is a story of survival and rebirth, strength and of hope and above all learning to trust. If you make it through this story you can make it through anything. There are a lot of moments where you sit there so still trying to take it all in and the next you cling to the hope and start breathing again.
C.J has written a great story that makes you sit up and take notice.
