Georgia is a young police officer who can hold her own quite well on the force. When Walker becomes her new boss, he is immediately turned off by her, though, because her dad is the chief (or the British equivalent), and he thinks he’s dealing with nepotism and not skill. As they are forced to work closely together on a serial killer case, he soon figures out that she is very capable in her job, but that he also is falling for her and wants to protect her. He’s pretty much a complete misogynist and jerk in the beginning, and it took a bit to warm up to him, even after he started changing his tone towards Georgia, but eventually I got on board with the relationship. Since this is book one of a 4 part series, it’s a quick read, and has a cliffhanger ending that will lead well into the next book.
This is the first book in the series and ends on a cliffhanger. A tall, sharp one!
I listened to this book on Audible. The female narrator did a good job performing even the male parts. She is a easy listen and didn’t over emote.
This story of a female cop and her new boss was very entertaining. Their snarky bantering with obvious attraction makes for a fun read. With murder, danger, mysterious notes, stabbing and stubbornness, attraction, and caring, I recommend this book, if you want to read a series.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book from Story Origin.
Uggg! Cliffhangers will be the death of me! Had I known this ended in the cliffhanger I would have skipped it. This book is so short, it is a bit ridiculous it was split into 2 books. That being said, I’ve been sucked in and will be continuing on. Because it is a fabulous read (or listen). I love Georgia and Trent! The start of their story is action packed, fun and sweet.
Georgia is a tough, workaholic cop, who falls for her new boss. As this book is very much British, I assume it isn’t as much of an issue on that side of the pond. It isn’t at all taboo for them to be together.
Georgia doesn’t want anyone to put themselves in danger to help her. Trent wants to protect her at all costs.
The narration is good. Crystal does great job at reading both povs. Overall I highly recommend.
Holy cow! I need more! This was awesome, the story, the plot and the romance kept you guessing. Be advised that is ends with the cliff hanger that will leave you broken in pieces. I enjoyed the whole story and the narrator did an awesome job with the performance. You have a sassy lady and a dominating man they hate each other but you know there is a thin line between love and hate. It is definitely worth the listen.
I received a free copy of this audiobook from Story Origin for an honest review.
The story… let’s start there. I loved it! The characters are brazen, a bit arrogant, and well written. The story starts with a VERY awkward scene and a little slow but things are just warming up.
One maniac followed by another took the plot through twists and turns that kept me engaged. The workplace relationship between Georgia and Walker heats up as does Georgia’s defiance of the men in her life, sometimes putting her safety in jeopardy. The cliffhanger is just plain mean (mostly because I hate cliffhangers). I need to know what comes next!
Onto the narration. Crystal Crockett has a great voice for narration. She has great enunciation and pace. So why my lower rating? The book is set in London with constant references to The Yard / Scotland Yard, making it hard to forget that it isn’t set in the American South and Crystal definitely has a Southern accent. I really like it but not for this book.
Story: 5 Stars
Narration: 3 Stars
Detective Georgia Kentley has suffered her fare share of trouble all her life. Can DCI Trent help her escape her dangerous fate? great audiobook
Great read! I really enjoyed the storyline and the world the author created. The characters were awesomely well written. The narrator did a fantastic job bringing the characters to life. Definitely a must get!
A great romance with suspense and strong characters, not just the heroine.
I liked the interaction between Georgia and Walker and also the way that their colleagues reacted when finding them out.
Got to read the next book now.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book
This was an excellent book with a very interesting plot and well developed characters. The police work is realistic feeling and keeps you thoroughly engrossed. The cliffhanger is steep and leaves a hell of a book hangover but hopefully the next book is out now or will be soon.
What a ride Bradley takes us on in the first book of her series The fate. This read / listen left me reeling with unanswered questions. A fast paced romance evolved between Georgia and Trent, each who have recently gotten out of serious, long term relationships. My only criticism is that this book takes place in the UK – London to be exact and the narration didn’t have the accent. A few british words were thrown in (arse and knickers) but I think it would have made this read / listen all the more authentic with an actual accent. Don’t get me wrong, the narration was good, really good just maybe not what this book needed. I really enjoyed the storyline and the characters – all of the guys in Georgia’s life are out to protect her but she is tough and I love that about her. The touch as nails but still needing the emotional that she refuses to let anyone see…very well written. I can’t wait to read what’s in store for these two…

Inescapable Fate by Hanleigh Bradley is a suspenseful romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Crystal Crockett.
All I can say is Wow! Hanleigh did an amazing job on this book! I think is my favorite book of hers that I have read so far. I absolutely loved Georgia’s character. She is independent and strong minded. I love that Walker doesn’t try to change her.
The story does end on a cliffhanger but that wasn’t much of a surprise since it’s the first book in the four book series. I can’t wait for the next book in the series Inexplicable Fate to be released on audio.
Crystal did an amazing job on the narration. She really brought the story to life.

Work and working out life are not always mutually compatible endeavors
Shifting off excess baggage and moving ahead for better personal and professional connections- all sounds positive. Sometimes failing endeavors are hilarious to read when happening to someone else
Saucy, sassy and flip, yet nailing cutting insights
Wow another enjoyable read. I read it from cover to cover in one sitting. Great storyline and excellent characters an all-around enjoyable read.

This is the story of Georgia and Walker. After Georgia breaks up with her boyfriend over Christmas, she can’t wait to get back to work at the precinct. When she arrives she’s got a new boss Walker. He assumes she got her job because of her father since all the guys in the precinct are protective of her. As they work on a case together, he realizes she’s a good cop and feelings between them start to grow. I enjoyed the adventure, suspense and romance in this story. I look forward to see what happens next. I received an arc of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I really like this series. I love Hanleigh’s books, they’re relatable and they feel real. This book was really well-written, I definitely recommend that all books in the series be read in order.
This is a fantastic, seat of your pants read. While at first it seems liked your average wrong first impressions, cop romance, but as you go on it become more intense. There is so many layers to this story that every chapter it seems like there is a new discovery. You will not be disappointed with this read. I received a complimentary copy and an leaving an unbiased, honest review.
what amazing read that will have you on the edge of your seat. this is amazing read that will have you loving this story.
Fantastic and enthralling, this book is packed full to the brim, its a Love story and a thriller all rolled into one.
I was completely submerged in the plot, and the electrically charged attraction between Georgia and Walker Trent. I was swept away by the Romance and crime and the anticipation of what will happen next.
Enjoyable, memorable and Brilliant I highly recommend this book.
This story is complicated in every possible way. Walker is super protective but really sweet. Georgia is little clumsy but very smart woman, putting herself in danger to save others – even if it puts her in risk. Plot is very well thought, there is no insta love which I appreciate, they grow to know each other and Walker’s protectiveness put them even closer. And the serial killer line is very well thought. It’s sure more surprises are waiting fir us in next part and I can’t wait.
Much of the beginning of this book was hilarious as Georgia and Walker got to know each other and drove each other crazy. Later in the book, things got pretty real and intense, but not in terms of the romance. The ending was an awful cliffhanger that left me desperate to find out what happens next.
