Not only that, she’s the firebrand ruining his chance at running for senator by accusing him of murder.
While the attraction runs hot, trust doesn’t come easy between these two, but when danger erupts around them they turn to each other to stay alive and find the answers before a killer finds them.
This is a action-packed suspense with futuristic weapons and plenty of red herrings. I think the romance was a little over-the-top considering the situation, but overall a good read.
Incriminating Evidence gave me such a book hangover. I couldn’t read it fast enough and then was sad it was over! Rachel created a taut, sexy, superlative story that’s an absolute romantic suspense classic. With amazing sexual tension, fabulous characters, heart-stopping action, and spectacular reveals, this book had everything. I honestly can’t recommend it enough.
This is my go to book when I need to escape from the world. The character come to life as readers are pulled into the romance, feisty female lead, suspense that will keep readers hook.
Wow! Loved this romantic thriller!
After reading “Night Owl,” this author’s entry in the “Danger and Desire” anthology, I was intrigued enough to want to read Incriminating Evidence, which “Night Owl” serves as a prequel to. First of all, I was stunned to find out that this novel was written a full five years earlier! The novella in the anthology fit in so well, I thought they had to have been written at the same time. Kudos to the author for pulling off such a seamless transition!
I met Isabel in “Night Owl” as she was beginning to investigate her brother’s death at the Raptor compound, and this book starts a few months later when Isabel runs into Raptor’s boss, Alec, right after he was left for dead in the Alaskan wilderness. What follows is a fascinating investigation, filled with shocking twists and surprising suspects. It’s clear that this book was meticulously researched, and I appreciated the clear attention to detail.
The romance between Iz and Alec was exquisitely paced, with loads of instant steam balanced with appropriate restraint due to the circumstances and ever-changing levels of trust between the two. It was one of the best romances I’ve read in a long time, and set in the midst of such a nail-biting investigation made it all the more intense.
This was a brilliant read, and I’m adding more books in this series to my TBR list.
I was inspired by Izzy’s determination; I was frustrated by Izzy’s stubborn disregard for her own safety; I was supportive of her efforts to learn to trust. Hang tough, Izzy!
Loved the story!! You get suspense, drama, a mystery, -both murder, conspiracy, and treason, then lust, love, steaminess, among many others. The book is well rounded with lots to love. First there is Isabel. She is on the hunt to find out what really happens to her brother who died recently while out on training at the facility he works. Then there is Alec, the rich CEO senatorial candidate who honestly did not cover anything up but doesn’t believe she isn’t tryin to sue him. They don’t trust each other and as they unfold the craziness of both her brother and Alecs abduction and subsequent torture, more soles to the surface. Wow so much to absorb. Double crossing, torture, mind control, experimental weapons. Who can be trusted when an election is involved, lots of money to grab and vendettas to fuel the crazy? Loved it!!
A+ for originality and creativity. I love how this author incorporates something that a reader may or may not have heard of and twist it into a captivating thrill ride of a story.
When this book starts out it looks normal enough. A archeologist is in the forest of Alaska doing surveying. She is also grieving over the death of her brother which happened to be in the same forest when she comes across a man who face has been beaten and he is bleeding from a nasty head wound. Being too far away from her vehicle or any cell services she manages to make a tarp and drags him to an old cabin. She figures out who he is not long after and it’s the man she blames for the death of her brother, one she started a war against by trying to close down the security company he runs.
After the reveal of their identities some things like you’d only see in a science fiction movies happen. They were soo cool. Now I should saw it was hurtful things to the heroine and hero but for me as a reader this is where I was silently rejoicing at a suspense plot I’ve never read before which these days come far and few between.
I’m not going tell what those things were cause I think the reader needs to experience them as the author reveals them in the book. But all aspects of the story were great – the plot – the main characters who have a strong love/hate relationship thing going that was HOTTT – very sexy steaming love scenes and even some sick torture of the like I’ve not read before.
I highly recommend this series to anyone that’s looking for something different than cookie cutter romantic suspense. Each of these books has been so thrilling to read and I cannot wait to get the next one.
Suspense levels are high in this compelling romantic/suspense. The author weaves the plot to keep the reader guessing. Strong characters, sexual situations, minimal foul language, happily ever after. No blood and guts. Well worth adding to your reading list.
I loved the suspense! Not knowing who to trust, the thrill of the search, and the mystery surrounding Alec’s kidnapping and how it ties to Isabel’s brother’s death…I was glued! The enemies to lovers romance between Alec and Isabel was just as enticing. They had such raw sizzle, I mean how did these two not blow the compound with their attraction?!
I like this author.
Good story but the sexual scenes were way too X-rated and explicit. I wouldn’t recommend this book to my book club.
I loved it and have purchased several others in the series as well.
Great book. Well written.
Very good story but skipped over at least 50 pages because of the sex scenes……why or why does the filthy language have to be part of a great story!!!!!
Great writing, I couldn’t put it down, so many twists and turns to the story that I didn’t see coming. Great Read!
Iz and Alex keep you interested from the beginning. The technology discussed is fascinating and I plan to learn more about it – made me curious
Loved it. Great characters.
I couldn’t put it down.
Great book! Couldn’t put it down!
I couldn’t put this book down! I love how it kept me in suspense and I didn’t know who the bad guys were until the end. Great writing.
