A classic, thrilling Dirk Pitt adventure from a master of the genre!
Nearly five centuries ago a fleet of boats landed mysteriously on an island in an inland sea. There, an ancient Andean people hid a golden hoard greater than that of any pharaoh, then they and their treasure vanished into history—until now.
In 1998, in the Andes Mountains of Peru, Dirk Pitt dives into an ancient sacrificial … ancient sacrificial pool, saving two American archaeologists from certain drowning. But his death-defying rescue is only the beginning, as it draws the intrepid Pitt into a vortex of darkness and danger, corruption and betrayal. A sinister crime syndicate has traced the long-lost treasure—worth almost a billion dollars—from the Andes to the banks of a hidden underground river flowing beneath a Mexican desert. Driven by burning greed and a ruthless bloodlust, the syndicate is racing to seize the golden prize…and to terminate the one man who can stop them.

I always enjoy the combination of action, adventure and history in Clive Cusslar’s books. Inca Gold is brilliant.
Another entertaining Clive Cussler book.
Typical Dirk Pitt adventure thriller. Lots of action desperate situations. Cussler is a master story teller.
Always love Clive Cussler books. Like A visit to another reality. Another great vacation read.
Love the original Clive cuddler books.
this is one of the earlier dirk pitt book–before they became sort of formulaic. however, it doesnt really matter–a dirk pitt book is always a terrifically fun read! dirk pitt is a larger than life character who still makes you want to read every adventure he ever has! suspend your reality, and hop onto the roller coaster ride!
A beach read for a Mexican vacation. Sometimes you need a piece of mind candy.
Pure Cussler satisfaction!
I love Clive, but NOT when these is a co-authors. The books are just not the same. Highly recommend books by Clive if not co-authored.
I just love reading Dirk Pitt stories. The adventures he and his friends have are truly outstanding.
this is my favorite Dirk Pitt book by Clive Cussler. I don’t usually read books twice, but I read this one.
Clive Cussler writes, count on a good read
Fun book to read to simply enjoy and escape! Action packed adventure on the level with Indiana Jones!
I enjoy Clive Cussler as a light read, like Dan Brown he is a bit annoying with constant references to the main character’s labels and objects that infer status, but he does this less than Dan Brown so he is slightly more bearable. I love the action and the imaginary archaeology, and the exaggerated Machiavellian characters. If anything, the familiar pattern of storyline can either annoy the reader, or give a satisfactory familiarity with the writer and characters.
Was my first Cussler book. From then on I was hooked
Another no brainer, computer generated, highly successful formula writing, without an original thought in it. BUT. As always highly entertaining bubble gum reading.
One of my first Custer reads years ago. Fun book follows his typical Dirk Pitt story line. Enjoy the historical aspects.
Hold your breath for another Cussler page turner. Once you start you will not be able to put it down. What happened to all that gold in the land of Cibola?
Classic Clive Cussler Dirk Pitt adventure novel from when Clive was writing the books himself. Loved reading the early Dirks and looked forward to the spare moment when I could squeeze in a couple chapters.
Love Cussler, miss Dirk.
