A new, sexy standalone novel from #1 New York Times Bestseller, Vi Keeland.
Terminated for inappropriate behavior.
I couldn’t believe the letter in my hands.
Nine years. Nine damn years I’d worked my butt off for one of the largest companies in America, and I was fired with a form letter when I returned home from a week in Aruba.
All because of a video taken when I was on vacation with my … because of a video taken when I was on vacation with my friends—a private video made on my private time. Or so I thought…
Pissed off, I cracked open a bottle of wine and wrote my own letter to the gazillionaire CEO telling him what I thought of his company and its practices.
I didn’t think he’d actually respond.
I certainly never thought I’d suddenly become pen pals with the rich jerk.
Eventually, he realized I’d been wronged and made sure I got my job back.
Only…it wasn’t the only thing Grant Lexington wanted to do for me.
But there was no way I was getting involved with my boss’s boss’s boss. Even if he was ridiculously gorgeous, confident, and charming.
It would be completely wrong, inappropriate even.
Sort of like the video that got me into trouble to begin with.
Two wrongs don’t make a right.
But sometimes it’s twice as fun.

There was so much more to this book than a Rom Com. That is what I like about Vi, she goes deeper with her books. This one dealt with some very dark issues, but she kept it on the lighter side. I really liked Grant and Ireland together. She balanced him out. He had a lot of trauma from his past and so did she so they fit together and made each other better people. I was expecting more of an office romance due to the way these two met, but there was very very little of that in this book. The only thing I didn’t love about this book was that it was a bit predictable and far fetched at one point.
Ireland St. James a news anchor goes on vacation is snapped at a private topless beach and fired from her job of 9 years. She receives her letter of being fired for cause and makes sure that the owner is made aware.
Grant Lexington, the CEO and owner of the company receives an email from Ireland telling him what she thinks of him
in uncertain terms. (The email is laugh out loud priceless) I can imagine the fun Vi Keeland had writing it. Grant becomes intrigued with Ireland and the story starts there. But as the chapters evolve the tale of Ireland and Grant’s
young lives brings light to their past and shows the commonality they share. As an avid reader of Ms. Keeland’s work my list of favorites. She brings Ireland alive with her sassy mouth and dislike for men in general. Then Grant is
brought back to life by his interest in Ireland and his pursuit of Ireland. This is a fun read with lots of humor,
heartbreaking moments, and tenderness from both the Hero and Heroine. Enjoy the read i sure did.
Ireland St. James is a reporter who has just been fired due to someone posting something about her recent vacation on her private account. Furious, she sends a drunk text to the owner of the company letting him know what she thinks about what happened to only regret it when she sobers up.
Grant Lexington runs Lexington Industries with his sister. He is shocked when he receives an email from Ireland regarding her termination and against his better judgement he decides to look into a little more and discovers she has made some valid points.
Ireland intrigues Grant and soon they begin spending more time together but soon Ireland discovers that Grant’s heart is closed off and their fundamental differences may end things before they even really begin.
This was such a great book with a couple of twists to make you wonder what was going to happen next!
I loved Ireland right from the beginning and I was glad that she fought for her job. I thought her boss was a jerk and it was apparent that he wanted her gone and used an underhanded way of getting rid of her. I was impressed with her honesty with the possible promotion and I loved her conversation at the coffee shop that had her going at things a little differently.
Grant was intriguing as it was clear he was engaging in the emails with Ireland initially out of amusement but he quickly saw that more was going. He was extremely attracted to Ireland and wanted a relationship with her but at the same time it was evident that he had walls built around him and I was curious to know what had happened to him.
I loved how right from the start Ireland didn’t want to be viewed the same way that Grant had treated his “women” in the past and I was glad she was able to push him but he still tried to keep her at a safe distance. There are glimpses into his past and you can tell something heavy happened.
I was definitely curious about Grant and Leo’s relationship once it is revealed how Leo is tied to Grant and it made me wonder how Grant could keep going when there was so much hurt from Lily.
When we learn about what happened to Grant my heart just shattered and I understood some of his reasoning, but I hated that he didn’t want to move past it and how he blamed himself for what happened. I was so mad at Grant for how he treated Ireland and for leaving her because of what was going on.
The conversation Grant had with Lily’s doctor was awesome and finally gave him the peace and clarity that he needed to move on with his own life.
The end was so awesome and I was definitely doing a really big happy dance!!
I definitely want more from this author soon!! – By Rebecca
Wow Just wow!!!! I love this author and everything she writes!!!!! I mean she could write the phone book and I would read it and I know it would be awesome…lol Ireland and Grant was just perfect!!!
I just adored Ireland and her attitude and her sassiness to me she was the perfect woman!! Grant of course he needed just a little work he is a man but he got there. And I would so highly recommend this book!!!!! – BY Tina
Wow, I’ve never been disappointed with any of of Vi’s books. They always have me hooked and leave me stunned with her quality writing and unexpected twists and turns. Grant and Ireland relationship begins with a rocky start and the evolution from inappropriate to heartfelt and sincere is a beautiful journey. 5++++ stars

Title: Inappropriate
Author: Vi Keeland
Stand-Alone
“No rain. No Flowers.” -que all the tears. OMG this book was PHENOMENAL! From the very first page to the last, I was fully immersed in Grant’s and Ireland’s world. Their journey wasn’t easy whatsoever. So many emotions and struggles but there was also banter and laugh out loud moments. Inappropriate is hands down my favorite from Ms. Keeland!
Both Ireland and Grant were fantastic characters. Ireland was sassy, headstrong, and independent. Grant was completely closed off but underneath the gruff exterior, was a beautiful heart. Little did they know that one drunk email would change everything.
Inappropriate was EVERYTHING! Full of heart, heat, and unforgettable moments that you never want to end. Highly recommend reading this book!
Vi Keeland is a one-click author for me, and her latest release, Inappropriate, clicked every check box for me. Every one. It started off with a laugh as our heroine, Ireland Saint James, gets released from her contract as a news broadcaster due to misconduct. I just loved her spirit and sense of humor as she drunkenly sends Grant, the CEO of the company, an email stating exactly how she felt about erroneously being fired. He apparently liked it too and showed off his comedic chops in his response. And so it begins…
I was drawn in from the very first page and couldn’t help but smile hoping these two would meet, fall in love, have beautiful babies, and all the other romantic notions that swim in my head. But this book is all about their journey to get there, the pain in their past, their vulnerability and deciding whether or not to take a giant leap of faith, open up, and trust your heart.
I love how they got to know one another and couldn’t stay away, and how she was able to open up about her parents from the beginning. This led him to open up about being adopted, and this slow burn will make you feel every single emotion. I adored their banter, their flirtations, all of their interactions at work and in their personal lives. I loved all the secondary characters, especially his grandparents, sisters, his “Little” brother, Leo, and her friend, Mia.
What captivated me most was Grant’s backstory, the reason he locked his heart away and didn’t want to get serious. It was personally emotional for me to read because my ex-husband is bi-polar and mental illness runs in my family. It can cripple you and fill you with self-doubt as to what you could have or should have done. Ms. Keeland did a brilliant job covering this sensitive subject and all I wanted to do was hug Grant and tell him it will all be ok. To forgive yourself. The tears I tell you, so many tears.
I loved Grant and Ireland together and how they supported each other and built each other up. I loved their trying times as they were very real and heartbreaking, and I especially loved how it all came full-circle and they could forgive and move on. That Grant is super swoony and thoughtful over and over again, but especially his big grand gesture as well as his little, but adorable gesture in the end…he remembered what she said she most wanted in life and made all her dreams come true. SWOON!
I loved all of the steamy times, how sexy and wanted he made her feel, and how little by little, they were able to find their own well-deserved HEA. So many twists and turns in this new favorite Vi Keeland book of mine. I especially loved the extended epilogue that had me crying once again, but this time, it was happy tears.
From beginning to end, I was swept and swooning. The banter between Grant and Ireland was witty and fantastic, the chemistry was off the charts and I felt so many emotions as I read. Chapters from the past are interspersed with the present day chapters, and we slowly learn Grant’s backstory- it’s heartbreaking yet it sheds so much light on his current outlook and personality. I am never disappointed when I pick up a Vi Keeland novel, and I absolutely couldn’t put Inappropriate down.
Inappropriate…unfitting…unbecoming…unprofessional…unbefitting
Regardless of which one of the above words you choose, its defining characteristic is that an act or situation that is not regraded as proper or appropriate given the set of circumstances that surround it.
But here’s the thing…who deems something appropriate or inappropriate? Who holds the power to judge others’ imperfections or ill-advised acts?
For Vi Keeland’s newest heroine, Ireland Saint James, one private act made public is deemed inappropriate by her employer, ruining her career and finding her out of a job that she’s given every part of herself to.
This is when things get interesting, not only for the wronged and disgruntled ex-employee, but also for Grant Lexington, the president and CEO of Lexington Industries, Ireland’s place of employment. And what starts out between these two, because of one drunken email, seems to epitomize every attribute of inappropriate behavior, but in all the most deliciously decadent ways.
From the very first message, Grant Lexington is intrigued by the feisty sender, and the more he learns about her, the more he wants to know, and even though it puts them both in rather precarious positions due to his role in Lexington Industries and a past that has dictated any kind of ‘real’ relationship he has had with a woman, sometimes the most unprofessional actions are the ones that make lives fuller and provide unusual but necessary ways to heal.
From the very first chapter, I adored Ireland and Grant’s story. Their chemistry resonated from its pages and the fact that she wasn’t just another beck and call girl and actually challenged Grant made him want things he hasn’t wanted in quite some time.
It’s clear just how in sync Ireland and Grant are despite the obstacles that they have to face, and while they both struggle with certain aspects of their relationship, they grow and heal because of each other’s presence in their lives, proving just how appropriate doing something unbecoming is exactly what needs to happen to be redeemed and renewed.
Inappropriate in a well-rounded and well written contemporary romance. It’s definitely one of my favorite reads by Vi Keeland because of its uniqueness and just how many emotions Keeland weaves through her characters’ words and actions. A definite must-read.
4.5 Poison Apples
I’m recovering from an amazing book hangover….
Funny. Heart-warming. Emotional. Sexy, saucy, salty banter (the best kind of course!). I’m trying to think of all the words to describe how much I LOVED this book and I’m coming up woefully short. Grant and Ireland were opposites but meshed together in every delightful way possible. They laughed together, fought, teased and tormented and every moment made me fall for them a little bit more…
From hilarious to sweet, to jerky, to steamy. Their story was everything…
*All The Stars*
*I happily reviewed this story
The author does it again! Once again she takes a situation and runs it in a way that will bring out the feels. Grant and Ireland’s story started off the bat with a termination that will have you fuming. On impulse a nasty letter was written and their story begins.
What started off on the wrong foot began a relationship and a connection that was unexpected. However office romances and a background past that will always stick with you can be challenge. Admittedly I even got teary eyed during a certain part. This read was not just another boss and employee story…it was more. ~ 4 stars
I adore office romances, especially when it’s a touch forbidden and snarky as hell. Inappropriate is all that but so much more too.
I knew by reading the blurb there’d be smart and sexy banter and hot and dirty times between the sheets (and on the sofa, against the wall…) between Ireland and Grant. But I was completely taken off guard by the “real story” between these two and what really made them the people they are. It’s deep, emotional, gut wrenching, and ugly cry inducing. And worth every tear, tissue, and “no, I’m okay, just give me a piece of chocolate, please” request made when my worried husband checked in on me.
I love love. Especially when it’s not easy and real. And it doesn’t get more real than between Ireland and Grant. I adored their relationship. Their sexy, smart romance is also dark and deep. And fantastic.
Heartbreaking, heartwarming, and absolutely my favorite Vi Keeland book to date! Now, step aside, I need more tissues.
Ireland Saint James comes home from her girls vacation to find that she was fired because a friend posted a video on her private instagram account where she was on a topless beach. Upon reading her termination letter she does what everyone does when they are wrongly terminated: she gets drunk and writes a scathing email to the CEO of her company, Grant Lexington. Grant found her email entertaining so they started a back and forth that ultimately led to her getting her job back. Once they met though, both didn’t want to stay away from each other and hilarity and love ensues.
One of these days Ms. Keeland is going to write a book that I don’t cry my eyes out. This book is not it. I was expecting a light and fun office rom-com and while I got the rom-com, I also got an emotional roller coaster. Gran is so broken and such an amazing man. He is afraid to connect emotionally with a woman because of his past but he is so kind and giving to everyone. He is a big brother to the last person you would expect but they both need the connection. Grant has the biggest heart all while saying he doesn’t. He just melts me. Then there is Ireland. I love how strong she is despite her past. She works her butt off to get what she wants and doesn’t use her looks to get ahead and teaches other women to do the same. One of my favorite things about this book is that there was so much communication. Both were willing to talk about their painful past. Grant didn’t want to be forth coming but not because he wanted to keep secrets but more so because he didn’t want to relive the pain again but he did. I loved how vulnerable they were but were willing to try with each other. Just swoon. A definite 5 star for me. I will probably be adding this one to my paperback collection.
3.5 stars
Fans of Vi Keeland will not be disappointed by her latest novel, Inappropriate. There’s romance, there’s angst, and there’s a well-earned HEA. It’s also funny, heartfelt, and wholly entertaining.
That being said, I’d say there’s a potential trigger warning for those who are sensitive to issues surrounding mental health and mental illness. There is a significant portion of the plot that deals with bipolar disorder and the consequences of not treating it in a healthy way, so that is something to consider before reading this novel.
Ms Vi Keeland! What did the world of books do before you! What a fantastic story! LOVED Grant and Ireland…. I fall in love with all of her characters… stories… WORDS! What a great strong women Ms Keeland has wrote! Did I say… I LOVE HER WRITING! I DO! An Author to follow for years and years! 10 million stars if I could!
Although I am a huge Vi Keeland fan, this book surprised me with it’s depth. From the very beginning I was hooked with Irelands hilarous attitude, but once we brought Grant into the mix all the feels started to happen. These two both brought some serious baggage to the table, Keeland certainly knows how to break you down and the put all the pieces back together like no one else. I went through just about every emotion reading this story!! This one left me with a serious book hangover!! Loved it!
“Inappropriate” may be the title of this book which refers to the action taken to fire Ireland from her job, but there is nothing inappropriate in the pages of this book. Grant is the sexy, hot, but tortured soul who happens to be the CEO of the company Ireland works for, thus he is who receives a scathing email from a drunk and depressed Ireland. This should make a man in his position mad, but not Grant, it actually piques his interest.
As I quickly flipped the pages of this book I learned that neither Grant nor Ireland had an easy childhood but they thrived in spite of it. Things happened in Grant’s life that were horrible, things he couldn’t just leave behind, but Ireland made him happy when he thought that he didn’t deserve to be happy.
Get ready for a funny, sad, sexy, passionate, but emotional read, with two wonderful main characters, one of whom is sassy but loving. There are also a few other wonderful characters in this book too. Towards the end I could not read fast enough, but yet I wanted to slow down because I did not want it to end.
I highly recommend this book, I feel like it is the best Vi Keeland has written so far.
Five “No rain, no flowers” stars for this one!!
Total crush on Grant Lexington right, just saying.
Even though he could be extremely frustrating-but I completely understood that.
This was one of those books you couldn’t get enough off and you find yourself wishing there was a book 2. You find yourself wishing you could continue reading about their life and where they go too.
These characters are easy to love. Sassy Ireland and swoony Grant make for perfect nook couples that stay with you. This book made me laugh out loud and cry out loud.

If any of these things catch your attention READ it. You won’t be disappointed.
I have to say the concept of those story is unique and kept me on my toes throughout as Ireland and Grant navigate their connection after the insanity of wine and emails. I adored the banter and sass of of Ireland. She is a strong leading lady that goes for what she wants and doesn’t falter when Grant really throws her for a loop. With Grant, we have this sinful CEO who has been knocked on his butt over a woman he barely knows and I love the lengths he goes to to keep her in his life. I giggled a lot with these two.
Overall, this is a great story that is a fun read. It has some amazing character build, lots of twists that keep you fully engaged and sizzling passion for those swoon worthy moments. Out the gate in 2020, Keeland has a knock out! I have always loved her work and this one is a great addition!
I just adored this story.
This is the story of Grant & Ireland. He is the CEO of Lexington Industries, which includes Broadcast Media, where Ireland works on air. They have a great banter. Parts of this book are laugh out loud funny. There are tearjerker moments. So many emotions. Grant is in a dark place when he meets Ireland. Actually, she sent him an email. He is her boss, or was, at that time. I loved the honesty in this story. I loved that Grant could actually shed tears. Ireland is a strong girl emotionally. I just thought this story was great. There are not enough words to describe it. I can’t wait to read Vi Keeland’s next story.
I know when I pick up a book from Vi, I am going to get a book that will be fun and flirty but also will have some type of twist that just gets me every damn time.
Inappropriate had me laughing and crying my eyes out. This book was so fun yet took my heart and tore it in two at one point. I was just all over the place with my emotions.
I have to say that Ireland is probably my all-time-favorite heroine – EVER. I was rolling from her drunken emails that start off the book. And can I just say… HOLY BATMAN… Grant absolutely had me swooning with his genuine kindness and compassion with a little (well more like a LOT) of dirty talk. These two were gold! When I get the look from my husband because I’m laughing or crying too much while reading… You KNOW it’s going to be in my top reads for the year.
Pick up this book. You can’t go wrong. And you’ll thank me later when you fall love with Grant and Ireland. You’re Welcome!
