A new, sexy standalone novel from #1 New York Times Bestseller, Vi Keeland.
Terminated for inappropriate behavior.
I couldn’t believe the letter in my hands.
Nine years. Nine damn years I’d worked my butt off for one of the largest companies in America, and I was fired with a form letter when I returned home from a week in Aruba.
All because of a video taken when I was on vacation with my … because of a video taken when I was on vacation with my friends—a private video made on my private time. Or so I thought…
Pissed off, I cracked open a bottle of wine and wrote my own letter to the gazillionaire CEO telling him what I thought of his company and its practices.
I didn’t think he’d actually respond.
I certainly never thought I’d suddenly become pen pals with the rich jerk.
Eventually, he realized I’d been wronged and made sure I got my job back.
Only…it wasn’t the only thing Grant Lexington wanted to do for me.
But there was no way I was getting involved with my boss’s boss’s boss. Even if he was ridiculously gorgeous, confident, and charming.
It would be completely wrong, inappropriate even.
Sort of like the video that got me into trouble to begin with.
Two wrongs don’t make a right.
But sometimes it’s twice as fun.

This is the second book of this author that I have read/listened to recently.
The beginning started out decently . Throughout the book, several important issues were acknowledged. The book ended in an HEA. I felt like this was a sweet, compassionate, book with not much heat.
Grant’s story was sad, emotional, and pulled at my heartstrings. His relationships with Leo and his Grandfather were a testament to a man who happened to be kind, gentle, understanding, gentlemanly, honest etc.
It was interesting to me that in spite of everything Grant had been through, he was much less judgemental and quick to jump to conclusions than Ireland.
I also appreciated that there was no cheating, no serious issues with ex’s, and no of that “we’re together, no we aren’t” crap.
I enjoyed the narration. It was done so well that the flashback parts did not become cumbersome. I haven’t figured out how I felt about Ireland, other than there are very FEW women that could get away with the stunt she pulled. But, it’s fiction, so there is that.
I can’t get enough of Vi Keeland’s writing! Inappropriate is just another example of why Vi Keeland is a one-click author for me. I never read the blurbs, I just know I’m going to get something I absolutely love!
Right out of the gate, I was hooked. That email….HILARIOUS! The exchanges between Grant and Ireland were absolute perfection. Everything about the two of them was perfection!
Grant is going to steal your heart Elizabeth @ Carolina Chic’s Read
Ireland is down on her luck… comes home from vacation to find a form letter firing her from her dream job. She doesn’t take this lying down. What happened turns out to be the best thing that has ever happened to her.
Grant is hiding behind his job and lifestyle… he is not really living. One email from a fiery woman changes his life and forces him to move forward… what he finds are all the blessing that he needs to find happiness.
Narration was perfection as always with these two!
Good book, good story, the characters where very enjoyable.
I really enjoy reading this book as it really made me feel relaxed and the drama or the angst was so light so every issue was resolved in a fast good manner without giving us a heartache. I really need to read something like this.. something that really didn’t make me think too much or made me feel anxious and Inappropriate was the right book for that.
Grant was a great alpha hero, he was a gentleman that his past keep lurking around trying to sabotage his new relationship and life. Ireland was bold, strong, beautiful and with an attitude that will bring down any men to his knees.
I enjoy the constant batter between the main characters, I enjoy the love, the sparks and the heating moments. everything was great between these two.
Overall was a great story..
Inappropriate has all the good humor and wooing that I enjoy a romance, but it’s quite emotional as well.
Addressing mental illness prevents the book from merely being a fluffy work of fiction. I appreciate the author’s willingness to tackle such a serious topic; however, I feel like the book does little to reduce the stigma associated with mental illness. It’s something billions of people suffer from in silence precisely due to shame and the judgment of others. As far as I’m concerned, it’s a missed opportunity to shed a light in a way that is both educational and freeing.
Setting that aside, I thoroughly enjoyed Grant and Ireland together. The blurb makes it seems like Ireland is worried about the inappropriate nature of an office romance, but really it is Grant who has the concerns. The lengths he goes to in order to have a shot with her are quite entertaining.
In short, Inappropriate is sexy, witty, poignant, and enjoyable.
“The trouble with trouble is that it starts out disguised as fun.”
Grant Lexington & Ireland Saint James’s story promised to be a fun and entertaining story, which it completely delivered on. I loved their banter, but the way they meet was epic.
When Ireland gets home from a vacation and finds out she is fired because of a private video, she gets drunk and sends the most hilarious email to Grant Lexington, CEO of Lexington Industrie.
When they meet, Grant gets involved in her being unjustly fired and the two of them start a slow build relationship, one that is playful, witty banter laced with sexual tension.
But it is not all laugh, there are some unexpected, angst and painfully moments. This is a fabulous read with some real life experiences. Great read!
Trigger warning: Mental illness, murder, loss of a child.

Another highly anticipated Vi Keeland book that did not disappoint. The relationship started off rocky but ended beautifully with just the right amount of fate thrown into the story. I love how VK always has that hint of fate intertwined into her characters’ relationships. Looking forward to seeing what she comes up with next.
My Rating: ****
Type: Standalone
Genre: Contemporary Romance, Fiction, Office Romance
Narration: Dual POV
Primary Characters: Ireland and Grant Lexington
When I read the blurb, the premise sounded fun and interesting. It certainly was all that, but it also had unexpected emotional depth. It was the perfect little romance – it wasn’t anything mega-special, it wasn’t anything surprisingly new and exciting and plot-twisty. There definitely was some mystery and some very emotional stuff, yet a cute romance.
Ireland Saint James lives in LA and works as an on-air reporter/ newscaster for Lexington Industries early morning segment. While away on a week vacation in Aruba celebrating her best friend/roommates upcoming wedding she has a little too much fun, and a private video is leaked. When she returns home, she suddenly finds herself unemployed. She’s terminated, effective immediately for inappropriate behaviour.
she feels she was wrongly fired. She’s angry and sends a drunken rant to the owner of the station telling him exactly what she thinks of him and his company.
Grant Lexington is a young president and CEO of Lexington Industries. He is intrigued when one of his employee send him an email telling him off. He responds to that email and its not good.
She writes an apology email. He responds but still considers her unemployed. But Grant is intrigued by Ireland and he digs up her personal file which has some highly personal information.
A chance meeting leads to a meeting between Ireland and Grant. The chemistry between them is bouncing all over the place. He also started finding other reasons to interact with her, but getting involved with him would be inappropriate? Both Ireland and Grant have pasts filled with pain. Grant has locked up his heart in a vault and although he wants to give it all to Ireland, he’s not sure how much he can give.
Its fast paced with nice secondary characters. Both Ireland and Grant are delightful, well developed characters. Their interactions are delightfully witty. He’s confident and enigmatic, thoughtful and caring. It swings from light-hearted swoon and silly costumes, to horrible loss that threatens to overwhelm the love story. Overall it was enjoyable.
What a book!! I can honestly say that Vi Keeland writes only perfect romances! Everything that she has written is pure perfection and Inappropriate is no different! I was so engrossed in this story that I rarely came up for air! Seriously, when my kindle stopped flipping pages I was shocked because I just wanted Ireland and Grants story to go on forever! It was that good!
I appreciate the subjects that Vi incorporates into her books. She can really weave them into the book and they don’t pull the story down but are delt with appropriately and with class. I just love that so much. You rock Vi!
I am giving my honest review after receiving an Advanced Copy of this book!
First off let me say that I loved Ireland! She was sassy, assertive and took no mess. I also like that she didn’t let her past define her and made a name for herself.
“Seven years ago, my own heartbeat stopped, and today mine found its purpose again.”
My heart broke for Grant in this story. I knew he was guarded for a reason but I wasn’t expecting that twist at all. It truly broke my heart.
This story was more on the emotional side since both characters had a tough start in life. I did enjoy reading the story but there was one part of the story that was in my opinion slightly predictable. Overall this was a good read that had me hooked from start to finish and I would recommend.
This is my third Vi Keeland book. My first was Egomaniac, and I thought I found a new auto-buy author. Now I know I’m not sure. Maybe I shouldn’t have read this one, as I’m tired of the Boss-employee trope. But I thought this one could be different, as Ireland, the heroine, was a journalist. What a disappointment when the story started with a strong, determined woman, and as soon as she falls in love, she’s becoming submissive and dull.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s not a bad book, just the feeling that the author is reusing the same features.
First-person, alternative POV, yearly flashbacks in the male character’s life, which I liked in Egomaniac. Nevertheless, here, some inconsistencies disturbed me. For instance, how come a journalist can not know how her boss looks like? In particular, while she was already working there when he became CEO.
As for Egomaniac, I wondered during all the reading why she chose this title. Aside from a little at the beginning, none of the characters felt that their relationship was inappropriate.
Finally, I can list many more details that bothered me, but the most important one is that I didn’t click with the characters.
Ireland and Grant have a pretty incredible story that will blow your socks off. Fun Sexy Romantic Loved it so much. Always a winner with Vi Keeland
Every moment of your life is a second chance…
Ireland and Grant’s story shredded my heart. What starts off with an action of poor judgement on Ireland’s part, goes full blown into risking everything she worked so hard to accomplish. To top it off when she finds out she is fired, she emails the CEO ofthe company a scathing response while drunk. Not her finest hour.
Grant Lexington reads her email and shockingly finds himself intrigued with the piss and vinegar that Ireland demonstrates. What starts off with both of them at each other’s throats develops into something they both were not prepared for.
Their story was angsty, sexy, steamy and full of passion. The humor of their push and pull with each other was a delight to read. This was my first read of Vi Keeland’s and I am definitely going to check out her books for future reading.
This book had so much more than its initial inappropriate moment. That wonderfully funny exchange led to some beautiful moments. Topics close to my heart were written about in this book and I enjoyed it very much!
It would be inappropriate to NOT read this amazing read from Vi Keeland!

Inappropriate is one of those books that stay with you long after you put it down. It’s emotional and sexy and will break your heart before Vi Keeland ultimately mends it back together. A standalone story, Inappropriate will engage you from the start. It’ll entertain, making you laugh and it’ll punch you in the throat as you shed a tear. It’s a true rollercoaster of emotions.
When we first meet Ireland, she’s a hot mess over a situation beyond her control. I wasn’t sure what to make of her but as I got to know her I found myself loving her strong, ballsy personality. She goes for what she wants and says what’s on her mind. Grant was your typical Keeland hero….sexy, alpha male who has many layers. His past is extremely tragic and traumatic and it affects every aspect of his life. I adored watching these two strong personalities fall for one another. They had great chemistry and were a great match but once Grant’s past impedes his future with Ireland, things become very bumpy. As the story comes to a head, you’ll definitely get choked up as Grant’s past is revealed. I swear Keeland went for the jugular on this one so have your tissues ready because you’ll need them! But don’t worry, Grant and Ireland get the happily ever after that they deserve and it’s perfect for these two beautiful people. 4 stars
I loved this book! Grant is a wonderfully complex character and Ireland compliments him in so many ways. They are more than their past, which you find are very tragic. They have made wonderful lives, are successful and happy.
I listened to the audio book and both narrators are among my favorites. The characters came to life and although I knew tragedy existed, I could not imagine the horror, the pain. It’s take another near tragedy and the almost unimaginable event to bring them both to their knees. In reality, it brought life. Falling in love and truly living.
Grant gave me all the feels when he said “I fell in love with life with you by my side.” But I think Pops said it best. “Balls!” No really. “Pops said you had given me a heartbeat again.” This book filled me with a wide array of emotions but now I’m done reading, yet I’m still digesting. This is a story more than worthy of a re-read.
Don’t be fooled by the name of this book, it’s anything but Inappropriate. This is a office romance story that seems like a light reading, but it has so much more.
Grant and Ireland met on “inappropriate” circumstances, she was unjustifiably fired from her job and she decided to send an “inappropriate” mail to the CEO of the company, Grant decided to find out why she was fired and he decided to give her, her job back. What they didn’t expect is to have this chemistry between them. The connection and attraction was immediate and they decided to give into their feelings.
The plot is interesting, specially when we get to meet Grant’s past. In order to understand how he is in the present, we have to go back and find out what happened to him, but I felt that Grant’s past relationship was more interesting that the one with Ireland. *eek* He fell in love years ago but a tragedy happened and now he has to overcome his burden in order to be happy with Ireland.
Grant’s story was very emotional and heartbreaking and I’d love to have more of it, at some points, it felt as if the author was more focused on his past relationship than his present. So I found it hard to fall in love with Grant and Ireland because Grant’s past was so deep that I personally wanted more.
I love Vi Keeland’s books, they always make me happy and this one made me happy too but I felt it was lacked of something. Overall, this is a beautiful read that you won’t want to miss.
When I got an e-reader one of the first books I bought was Vi’s Belong To Me, and I instantly fell in love with her writing. Her heroes are just the right amount of “alpha” with the right amount of real. Her heroines are strong and more than a match for the men that they fall for. Inappropriate continues that streak of just right with Grant and Ireland.
Ireland returns from vacation to a letter terminating her after nine years of flawless work. One 30 second topless beach video that she has 8 seconds of screen time it, gives her smarmy boss just the ammunition he needed to have her canned. Luckily, alcohol and a snarky email to the company’s CEO come to the rescue… sorta.
When you open a Vi Keeland book you are guaranteed a few things. The first is that her characters are going to real and relatable, no matter how rich or lofty. Ireland is a newscaster who knows her stuff, is popular and smart. She is working her way up the career ladder with integrity and skill. Grant is the CEO of Lexington, the company that owns the new station but he isn’t the type to just wear the title and count his millions. A hard worker with wicked charm and a difficult past. The two have sparking chemistry from their first couple of emails, which should tell you what happens when they are in the same room.
The story is an effortless page-turner that will make you alternately laugh out loud and break your heart, just a little bit. Grab Inappropriate when you have uninterrupted time because once you open it, it isn’t getting closed until you’re done.
Ireland and Grant’s story is quirky, funny, and a touch sad. Ireland is fired from her TV news anchor job and handles it very inappropriately. She drunk emails the owner of the company. The next morning she receives a response from CEO. And their love story starts from there!
Grant past made him stay away from commitment. He had walls around his heart that nothing can penetrate, well that is until he meets Ireland. Her sass and strength break down his walls without him knowing it.
I love the banter between these two! While there were emotional parts when we heard of Grant’s past, I think Vi Keeland handled them with care. We fall in love with Grant and feel his pain. I love how he heals and finally moves on to have his HEA with Ireland. Once again Vi delivers!
