A new, sexy standalone novel from #1 New York Times Bestseller, Vi Keeland.
Terminated for inappropriate behavior.
I couldn’t believe the letter in my hands.
Nine years. Nine damn years I’d worked my butt off for one of the largest companies in America, and I was fired with a form letter when I returned home from a week in Aruba.
All because of a video taken when I was on vacation with my … because of a video taken when I was on vacation with my friends—a private video made on my private time. Or so I thought…
Pissed off, I cracked open a bottle of wine and wrote my own letter to the gazillionaire CEO telling him what I thought of his company and its practices.
I didn’t think he’d actually respond.
I certainly never thought I’d suddenly become pen pals with the rich jerk.
Eventually, he realized I’d been wronged and made sure I got my job back.
Only…it wasn’t the only thing Grant Lexington wanted to do for me.
But there was no way I was getting involved with my boss’s boss’s boss. Even if he was ridiculously gorgeous, confident, and charming.
It would be completely wrong, inappropriate even.
Sort of like the video that got me into trouble to begin with.
Two wrongs don’t make a right.
But sometimes it’s twice as fun.

Inappropriate is Vi Keeland’s newest sexy, emotional, and fun standalone office romance. This review is hard to write because I don’t want to spoil anything! I didn’t read the synopsis so I had no idea what I was getting into and that’s one of my favorite things to do. Kara did tell me to keep Kleenex close by so I will pass that along to you too. It was great advice.
Ireland has worked her ass off over the last nine and half years at Lexington Industries. She was an on-air news reporter and a damn good one. So she was shocked when she came home from a Bachelorette weekend to a letter saying she was fired over a 30 second video that was posted on her private account. So, what does a twenty-something do in this situation? Get drunk with their friends and end the night by drunk emailing the CEO of the company. Good plan, right? Totally. What she didn’t know was that one email would change her life.
Grant couldn’t believe this woman. Nobody talked to him like that. No in person and not in an email. And you know what? It turned him the fuck on and he didn’t even know who this Ireland Saint James was. His sister dealt with that side of the business but he was intrigued. And with a second email, he had to know more about her. Not because he now knew what she looked like but because she was the type of person who didn’t take anyone’s shit. And that’s why he hires her back. Yep! He was totally fucked. And he knew it was totally inappropriate but she made him smile and that was something he truly hadn’t do in years.
I can’t really say more about he storyline but I can say that I loved these two so much. Their banter is flirty, fun, and witty. And sometimes downright filthy. Yes, this CEO has a filthy mouth and I loved everything that came out of it. And Ireland is a badass. She is smart, funny, sassy, and knows exactly how to push Grant’s buttons. On a serious note, it’s an emotional ride. They both have pasts that are not easy to deal with. Can they move on from their pasts to have a future together?
Overall…I was blown away! I didn’t want to put it down once I started but you know…life. It ps definitely one of my favorite Vi books! It’s full of heart, heat, family, love, laughter and so much more.
Quotes:
He stood casually talking to the gentleman, yet there was something about the way he held himself—his feet planted wide, broad shoulders back, arms folded across his chest. The man oozed confidence even with bare feet. With some guys, a good suit made the man. Not Grant. He made the suit.
I smiled and wrapped my other arm around his neck. “Don’t I get to tell Santa what I want for Christmas?”
“He already knows. More Disney DVDs.”
“You like the toolbelt? I’ll wear it every fucking day.”
I smiled. “Pretty sure people at the office would think you’d lost it.”
What an amazing book! My heart is so full after reading this! Grant and Ireland both had hard childhoods but have persevered and are now equally successful in their own right. The way they meet is unorthodox for sure, but the attraction between them is instant and their banter and interactions made me smile big.
No doubt, Vi knows how to right a sexy scene! Hoo-boy, these two made me hot under the collar!! But it wasn’t just sex. It was their intimacy and passion and emotions toward one another that made them the whole package.
For me, this story has some super emotional parts that had me running the gamut from happy to sad, to mad, to worried, to delighted – you name it, I felt it. Grant really wrapped himself around my heart and I felt so much for what he’s been through. And Ireland, she was just the perfect complement to Grant.
Out of all of Vi’s books, this one in particular really set itself apart. There are themes in it that really hit close to home for me, and I know this story will stay with me for a very long time.
Vi Keeland always delivers when it comes to forbidden workplace romance!!
NO SPOILERS!
Bravo, Vi Keeland, bravo! Inappropriate has been the BEST and my FAVORITE romance from Vi Keeland to date, and I absolutely LOVED Grant and Ireland’s sexy, funny, emotional, and swoon-worthy love story!
Vi Keeland has never ceased to amaze me with her books, and I’ve adored each and every one I’ve read, but she went above and beyond with Inappropriate and I loved everything from beginning to end. Vi’s stories have always been unique and engaging, and Inappropriate was no different. I was captivated from the first page and addicted until the very last. Grant and Ireland were EVERYTHING, and I’ll never forget their epic love story. I was so incredibly happy with the outcome, and absolutely can’t wait to devour more sexy, swoon-worthy, and addicting love stories from one of my all-time favorite authors, Vi Keeland!
Once again Vi has written a wonderfully romantic novel with a scorching hot hero Grant Lexington CEO of a company that just fired our heroine Ireland Richardson for breaking the company’s ethics clause when she made an innocent vacation trip to a nude beach. After being fired Ireland fires a drunken email to Mr Lexington. Later in the week the two meet by chance and sparks fly. As this love story develops Vi manages bring awareness to several subjects that face us daily. She address retaliation in the work place, mental illness and the foster system making this book even more special as she makes us love and brings awareness. I love books that make me love, laugh, and think…. definitely a five star plus read. Bravo Vi for this heartwarming story of life and love.

Wow! I freaking loved every page of Grant and Ireland’s story. It was flawlessly written and heartfelt. They both had their fair share of issues and Grant’s was heartbreaking as we learned about hks. My words can’t begin to describe how amazing this book is. This is a must read!
This is officially the best Vi Keeland book I’ve ever read. This book wasn’t what I expected to be based off the title. It is so much more than just your typical boss/employee relationship. Grant our male hero faces some major demons and seeing him and Ireland work through it and fall in love will make your heartache and even shed a few tears as well.i love how emotional this book is and how it talks about troubles woman face in the work place today. I loved how strong Ireland is as a character with her take things by the balls mentality, especially when it comes to her profession and how the men at her job view her. This book is a definite must read for all office romance lovers and those who love Vis work. I cant wait to see what Vi comes up with next.
What an incredible read. A story that you cannot help but get caught up in and never let go. Grant has been closed off for the last 7 years but it took one drunk email from Ireland and he was hooked. She opened his heart and made him feel again. He was able to let go of the past. It wasn’t easy especially since he felt he didn’t deserve to be able to move on. This story will pull at your heartstrings. You will cry for Grant and with Grant. You will feel compassion for Ireland. Tears of jo, and tears of sadness and everything in between.
This book has it all. From beginning to end you will not be able to put it down.
Vi Keeland has done it AGAIN!!! Oh my goodness! I’m absolutely in love with this book and with Grant and Ireland! This book was so much better than I expected. I mean I knew it would be good because it’s from Vi but I kept thinking with the blurb it would be more about “Inappropriate” with an office romance and all but it was SOOOO much more.
I just love Grant and Ireland and the banter they have between them. I love the e-mails at the start. It’s so much more than just being “Inappropriate” though and you get an amazing connection that neither of them can stay from. I love how Ireland never let him steam roll her and then their chemistry was off the charts. I felt so much for Grant and watching him grow was just amazing. I have so many favorite passages but I won’t list them because I don’t want to give anything away. Just know they are now literally one of my favorite couples that Vi Keeland has ever given us.
When you start this book, I would recommend you have some time to dedicate to it because you will not want to stop reading it. I was so mad that I had to go to sleep this morning in the wee hours instead of reading. I should have known not to start a book at 1 a.m. but I couldn’t sleep due to pain so I gave in. Sleepless was so worth it with this book though.
I would 100% recommend this book to all romance readers. If you haven’t had the pleasure of reading a Vi Keeland book, then Inappropriate is the perfect starting place. Once you pick up one of her books, you will want to read all of her books!!
ARC was provided in exchange for an honest review. I can’t wait to buy this book to have on all of my devices!!!
My new Top Favourite from this author.
I started this book thinking “I hope i like it” and by 2nd or 3rd chapter i was thinking “oh I really like this”.
It didn’t take me long to get lost in these Ireland an Grant’s story.
After being fired from a job she’s worked so hard at for 9 years, she Inappropriately sends a little drunken email to the Ceo telling them what she thinks!!! A few emails later, she’s reinstated by none other that the Ceo himself, and their beautifully broken relationship begins.
I loved how they met and Loved their steaming hot sizzling connection, which was even apparent during their emails. I loved how they grew both as lovers, friends and two souls that combined as one.
Both have issues in their past that weigh heavily, but i’m giving you no clues, because you deserve to experience the melt down of your heart just like i did !!
I love that i was so easily pulled into their world and when an author can do that it always leaves me in awe!! Their struggles with their own feelings and trying to keep the work place out of the equation. This really was a readers paradise, a love story that was just so real and down to earth it becomes more like sharing the journey with real friends.
So i started hoping i’d like it and I ended up knowing I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT !!
Inappropriate will have you glued to the story from page one!
Funny, sexy and lots of witty banter fills the pages of Vi Keeland’s latest book.
It all starts with Ireland makes and Impulsive decision while on vacation, never expecting to lose her job.
After sending a drunken email she catches the attention of CEO Grant Lexington.
The sparks fly, although nothing really is that easy and sometimes the past that has broken us comes back to haunt us.
I absolutely loved this story! You will find yourself laughing and falling in love with Grant and Ireland.
4.5 stars
I absolutely loved this book!!
Ireland has been fired and wrongly so. In a drunkin’, wordy email she tells off the CEO. This throws Grant for a loop and now he can’t seem to forget about Ireland. He finds himself drawn to the honest, on-air, morning tv host..He starts finding ways and making things up so he can be around her.
But the past has Grant in a choke hold. In order to move forward he needs to confront the past… otherwise there is no future for Grant and Ireland.
I couldn’t put this book down. I had to war with myself to stop so I could get some sleep. Definitely one-click this now. You won’t be disappointed.
I made the mistake of reading the reviews before writing mine.
Reviews are opinions and everyone has them.
Here’s mine~
Inappropriate was very well written but it was not a book that left me warm and fuzzy.
There were sexy times and hilarious banter but it tackled so many real life issues.
Sexual Harassment
Equal pay
Foster Care
Mental illness
I really felt like this book was about learning from your mistakes, forgiveness, and loving yourself enough to move on.
It was a page turner, for sure. But, it’s definitely not all unicorns and rainbows.

Forgive me while I spend a few minutes in my feelings over this book.
Because, oof.
But also all the happy tears.
I went into this story prepared for a forbidden office romance, but what I got was so much more . I mean, there definitely is a forbidden office romance element here, but that’s not really the focus of the story. Instead it provides a sort of light intro before the story weaves its way into much deeper emotional territory. It worked for me. I loved the frisky naughtiness, the sparky banter, and the sweet evolution of fun flirtation into something far more complex, heart-wrenching, and brilliantly beautiful.
It. was. stunning.
There were moments where I needed to put my kindle down to catch my breath. My heart cracked wide open and I cried all the tears. And y’all, I loved Ireland and Grant something fierce. Ireland is the perfect sort of strong, spirited, lion-hearted heroine that is impossible not to root for, particularly when paired with Grant’s wounded alpha personality. Together they were all sizzle and swoons and my heart went all-in for them. This is a fast-paced story, but make no mistake: it’s going to stick with me for a good long while.
There is something about a Vi Keeland book that is so compulsively readable. There’s some magic to her storytelling that draws you in immediately and keeps you hungry for more, obsessively flipping pages until you start panicking that you’re nearing the end. Inappropriate was no exception. One part deliciously sexy, playful romance; one part intensely emotional, heartfelt love story – this book was perfectly balanced and utterly unputdownable. I adored it. I’m still recovering from it, but good gravy y’all, I cannot recommend it highly enough!
Vi Keeland certainly knows how to bring out ALL the emotions in one superbly written story! From the beginning of the story I was hooked! I found myself laughing and chuckling to myself as these characters have their first encounter. Then it just got better as the story progressed. We discovered some of Grant’s past and why he is the way he is. It was a big twist! And the author did a great job releasing these tidbits to keep some of the mystery. Toward the end of the story it did get very emotional. You could feel the emotion as the characters experienced it. But again the author did a great job releasing all this information to make it feel real.
I thought the story was great! It kept me interested from the first page to the last. The characters were relatable and seemed real along with the story they had to tell. It was really a fantastic story and one I highly recommend.
Grant and Ireland’s story is absolutely beautiful. Ireland was such a sassy lady and wasn’t one to be pushed around. This made for a nice change of character to read about. Grant… phew, what can I say about this man. He went for what he wanted right from the start and was a gentleman about it. He did of course have his typical man moments but he’s overall behavior was nothing less than a gentleman. Grant is one of my favorite characters from Vi Keeland. Everyone needs to get ahold of Grant and Ireland’s story.
Ireland is having a very bad day. She came home from vacation to a letter terminating her for “inappropriate behavior,” and she’s furious. So it makes sense that a drunken email to the boss’ boss’ boss is sent telling him off, telling him she thought he and his company sucked. Yep.
Grant is intrigued by the email he receives telling him off. He’s even more intrigued by the woman who sent the email. And when he meets her in person? Yeah…more than intrigued. But Ireland’s not going to be as easy to win over as the average woman he meets. What happens when uncommon sass and intelligence meets charm hiding a broken heart? Well, sparks for one. And a sexy, emotionally heartbreaking story of finally forgiving one’s self and falling in love.
Vi’s heroes and heroines are always substantial characters with big hearts, sometimes damaged, but always lovable. Grant and Ireland’s story is full of feels with all the heart and heat that I’ve come to expect from her. More importantly, it’s a story I will not soon forget.
*4,5-5 stars*
Some things are worth the wait and this book certainly was. I’ve read a few books already by this author and this one is definitely one of my favorites! The story was fun, sweet and emotional to read. It also went a way that I didn’t really saw coming but nontheless a topic that hasn’t been dealt with in many books I’ve read so far. This book is definitely a must read and a favorite of mine for 2020!
When Ireland comes home from a well needed holiday, she gets the surprise of a lifetime. She receives a letter that she’s fired from her job because of a private video that nobody at work was supposed to see. However she doesn’t take it lying down and seems to make another mistake down the road but this one turns out to be good news in the end. She gets reinstated and crosses paths with Grant. It doesn’t take long before she learns Grant is her boss and things progress from there. Even though it’s hard for her to keep her distance from him, there’s an attraction between them that keeps growing into something more. But Grant’s past looms over him and comes back full force when their relationship seems to be taken to the next level. Will Grant finally be able to let go of his past?… And will they be able to have the happy ending they both deserve?…
What a great story again. Loved the ‘no bullshit attitude’. They were so honest and real to each other. I really love a good story with no cheating, no lying and of course no weak woman and did I mention great writing, this book had it all. Personally I think every book gets better and better. The journey from Ireland and Grant are funny but also with heartbreak and a lot of tears but also with a cool grandad.
I received an ARC for an honest review.
Oh my word, I have been excited for this book but it totally exceeded all of my expectations. I devoured it from the very first page and could not put it down. I loved the way the story flowed, the delicious chemistry between Ireland and Grant and it definitely had me laughing out loud more than a few times. Definitely a 5 star read.
