Everyone loves Jack Holland, but Emmaline Neal needs him. Her ex-fiancé is getting married in Malibu and, obviously, she can’t go to the wedding alone. In Manningsport, New York, tall, blond, and gorgeous Jack Holland is practically a cottage industry when it comes to rescuing desperate women. He knows the drill, Em figures, so he won’t get the wrong idea.
What Jack needs is an excuse to leave … to leave town. Ever since rescuing four teenagers from a car wreck, he’s been hailed as a hero and the attention is making him itchy, especially since his too-pretty ex-wife is back, angling for a reunion. He’s always liked Emmaline. She needs a weekend date? No problem.
So when they wind up in bed together, Em chalks it up to red wine and chocolate cake, just one impulsive night not to be repeated. But Jack’s pushing for more, and if she lets down her guard, either she’ll get her heart crushed again, or discover that Jack’s worth more than just dreaming about.

4 “I hope I get to use my Taser” Stars. This is book 4 of the Blue Heron series. I wasn’t sure that I really wanted to start this book. After reading Waiting on You (book 3) I wanted to let Lucas and Colleen’s story simmer for a while. Then I thought, wait…I’ll bet Lucas and Colleen will be in book 4, right? I mean, this is a series about friends …
Awesome book Halarious

I’m devouring this series and can’t get enough. It’s easy when I’m listening to the ear-pleasing audios. Thankfully, there are plenty Higgins books left to read, because I only have one book in this series to go and I wouldn’t have known what to do with myself. I’m officially a fan.
Kristan Higgins has a wonderful writing voice and I always love reading a book she’s written. This one is from the Blue Heron series. I’ve only read one other one from this series so far so I have a few more to look forward to.
I love all of Kristin’s books, but this is one of my particular favorites. The Blue Heron series (all of them) are terrific. I love the story of Jack Holland in this book though – he’s such a lovely character. The book is very typical of her writing style – laughter through tears, great characters and well-written dialog. Love it!
Have really enjoyed this series.
Erin and Jack have so much to overcome in their lives. These characters are so interesting and I was drawn into reading the entire story.
Wonderful writing
