Loved the story.
that was such a fun read and hard to put down.
If you like time travel this is a must read
It was a bit slow going but eventually I became emotionally invested in the primary characters. It’s a nice spin on the time travel theme. couldn’t put it down.
I absolutely loved this Book ! Very clever and I couldn’t easily put it down. Also read the 2 sequels. Did not want the series to end !
Great time travel story! Normally not my genre but this one is super fun!
One of the better time travel stories I’ve read. In Times Like These delves deep into the concepts of time travel, and clearly lays out how it works in the story’s universe. The mechanics of time travel are believably implemented, accounting for issues that most time-travel stories ignored.
Add to this a group of likeable characters, and you’re all set for a great adventure.
In Times Like These goes deep, but at the same time, it feels like the first dripping of the toe into a vast story world with endless possibilities. A great introduction to this series.
love, love, love this whole series
This book was a lot of fun to listen to. Imaginative, well written, and well told.
Lots of action, danger, and possibilities. I love the loyalty and friendship between Ben, Carson, Robby, Francesca, and Blake. And I really loved Dr. Quickly and Mr. Cameron.
Time travel hasn’t really ever been something I’ve been terribly interested in reading but, this book was just so unique and adventure packed that it was so enjoyable to read.
The narrator did a fantastic job bringing the story to life. Can’t wait to read the next book!
Nathan Van Coops weaves an exciting, page-turning adventure story (and entire series!), that keeps you guessing what’s next, and what time it is!
Terrific innovative plot, great engaging characters and very thought provoking. Time well spent reading this novel.
What a fun book! Truth be told, I have a serious love-hate relationship with time travel books. They tend to irritate me, because they become so outlandish and contradictory that they make the show Supernatural seem plausible.
But In Times Like These didn’t completely butcher current science. It explained away a lot of the complexities in an almost satisfying (though vague) way. And the characters, while not as developed as I would have liked, were worth cheering on toward their goals. It was engaging, enjoyable, not at all flashy or hyped, and easy to read — exactly the kind of brain candy for when work gets crazy and my mind needs an effortless and fanciful distraction.
I’ll definitely pick up the next book in the series, The Chronothon. I want to find out what time has in store next for Ben/Benjamin/Benji and his friends.
I really liked the unique time travel idea.
I’ve had this series on my iPod for months and don’t know what took me so long! Nathan Van Coops writes some great, realistic characters and what a ton of fun for this girl who grew up in the 80s! This may be one of the best time travel series ever. The banter between the characters would make the writers of Friends jealous and I loved the realism in how these unwilling time travelers are taught the ins and outs of being a responsible owner of a Chronometer. I’ve gobbled all kinds of time travel series and this one is by far my favorite!
Honestly, Nathan, you have to revisit Ben and his friend some day. I miss them and they have so many stories to tell!
This is the first book in a series that just recently has a new book that I haven’t read yet. That means that you’re guaranteed a lot of good reading.
If you’re not a fan of sports, don’t be put off by the baseball game in the beginning. It’s just something that gets a group of people together to transport all of them to another time. Or, more accurately, a series of other times.
The first book is about a mad scramble to get back to their own times and friends. It’s the trip that’s the story, and this story is a trip!
The book is about a group of great characters, thrown into amazing, outrageous situations and trying to cope and return.
I’m a big fan of time travel stories, this was well written without getting too hung up on tech.
Great, page-turning time travel adventure that kicks off a very cool series. And it’s a free download!
Great time travel story
This is an interesting look at time travel. It is from a physics point of view. I have never read a time travel book that took into account the spinning of the earth, the rotation of earth around the sun, the expansion of the universe. To move in time all of these must be taken into account. I give this a 4.5 rating. The characters and story line are well written.
I took half a point off because it went on a little to long for me. That use to be a plus but I enjoy shorter books now.
* ordinary people stuck in time find a way out, good read
