The event that shook one small town to its core was never solved. The domino effect of one person’s crime going unpunished is beyond measure.
He’s no saint.
Dover ‘Collector’ Ragnes rides with only five brothers at his back. Nomads with no place to call home, they never stay in one place too long. Together, they are the Devil’s Due MC, and their only purpose is to serve justice their way for … justice their way for unsolved crimes everywhere they go.
She’s not afraid to call herself a sinner.
Emerson Flint still remembers the loss of her elementary school best friend. She is all grown up, but the memories still haunt her of the missing girl. Surrounding herself with men at the tattoo shop, she never questions her safety. Her life is her art. Her canvas is the skin of others.
However, danger is at her door.
Will Dover overcome the history he shares with Emerson in time? Will Emerson lead him to the retribution he has always sought?
Love, hate, anger, and passion collide as the time comes, and the devil demands his due.

I was kind of disappointed. I listened to the audiobook for this one, and normally I like those narrators. They were a bit melodramatic this time around. As was the story. I don’t think I want to continue with this series. But, hey! It wasn’t badly written. It had a sound plot line and a great cast of characters. Just because I didn’t like it doesn’t mean you won’t. Try it and see.
I read this book years ago, now doing a re-read made me realize how much I enjoyed this fast paced, action packed, suspenseful, and definitely well written story. Dover and Emerson went on an emotional and heart wrenching ride that led them to a destination of redemption and justice. I enjoyed this story immensely.

In the Red is the first book of the Devil’s Due MC series by Chelsea Camaron. It reads like a novella, quick, entertaining and a good start to a new series.
The Devil’s Due MC was created by a small group of men with troubled pasts that are looking to right wrongs that haven’t been resolved through normal legal channels. They are nomads staying no one place for long but roam where the next lead takes them.
Dover “Collector” Ragnes is one of the Devil’s Due. When he was 17, his sister Raleigh was kidnapped, raped and murdered at age 9. The case is cold but Dover has been hot on the murderer’s trail and he won’t stop until the Devil has gotten his due.
The beautiful and snarky Emerson “Sonnie” Flint was Raleigh’s best friend. She’s never forgotten Raleigh and had never recovered from her horrific death. She left their small Tennessee town at 18 and started a new life in Alabama as a successful tattoo artist.
Dover and Sonnie cross paths as the Devil’s Due need some more ink and they are following a lead on Raleigh’s death. The chemistry and history is too much for either to ignore.
Camaron takes us through the cold case development while bringing humor and sass to the interactions between Dover and Sonnie.
Although a tough topic, it’s an interesting story that embodies a suspenseful and dark theme. I was desiring slightly more character and story development; however, it was still an enjoyable read. There are a few editing errors, primarily missing words, but not a deal breaker.
Camaron provided teasers with small insights into the Devil’s Due MC brothers. They have promise for entertaining stories with more dark themes. Next up is X’s story in Below the Line.
I’m such a huge fan of Chelsea Camaron and I can’t believe I’V never read In the red yet , from the very beginning it had me drawn to the heartache that Dover/Collector and Sonnie/Emerson go through from the loss that they endured . Was on the edge of my seat to see what was going to happen and when it did my mind along with my heart were blown . Dover and Emerson share a strong bond and once they are reunited in a fate kind of way the electric pool grows even more intense every scene they share . Emerson is a strong , awesome , talented , and bold heroine loved that she has tattoos and is a tattoo artist she can take her own even with a butch of funny dirty talking bikers so wanted to high five her on a certain scene and the banter she has with the guys Especially Trapper had me laughing but we get to see bits of a darkness/sadness inside him that I can’t wait to find out Chelsea gave us a little tease in the end though .Dover just gutted me the anguish and guilt her caries is very somber but I admired his determination to find the person reasonable and stop them, his group of brothers had one others backs they would do anything for each other . Liked the concept of this being a different kind of MC reminded me of a darker version of robin and his band of merry men . Can’t wait to see whats to come really excited for X and Hadleys story from the little encounter at the end of this I know the authors going to rip my heart out again .
