A USA Today bestseller. He’ll give her what she needs . . .Addison Williams isn’t looking for romance, but when she encounters an eavesdropping stranger on an adjoining hotel balcony, she figures she’s due a little fun. She just hadn’t reckoned on the “fun” escalating so quickly to “out of control.” One minute she’s flirting with a whiskey-graveled voice in the dark, the next that same voice is … that same voice is telling her to do things. Hot, wicked things.

Stolen kisses. Secret hook-ups. Deliciously forbidden in every way. Can a passion that started in the dark find a lifetime of love in the light?

I am a new fan of Kate Meader. This was my first book that I have read of hers and I am already searching for me. The characters were so perfect and the connection between them was steamy! Loved it!
Loved the characters and their twisted path to happily ever after!
I very much loved reading this book. It was exciting.
Loved the characters and hockey references. Steamy love scenes and romance galore!
In Skates Trouble was the Prequel to the Chicago Rebels series by Kate Meader.
I had already read the first book in the series, Irresistible You (Harper/Remy) and was dying to back up and read the Prequel for Ford and Addy.
Ford Callaghan was a gorgeous twenty six year old that just won the Stanley Cup with the New Orleans Cajun Rajuns. On his tour home to Chicago with the cup, he met a sexy voice on an adjoining balcony in the dark of night. A voice he only knew as Addy.
Addison “Addy” Williams was a beautiful full figure model, business owner, and ex-wife. She had exited a bad marriage and was rebuilding her life on her own terms. Talking with the deep seductive no name voice on the next balcony was fun but thankfully she’d never meet him in person. She didn’t have time for it and she definitely didn’t need a man.
As a novella, In Skates Trouble was a quick and fairly light hearted read. It set the stage for a new series while at the same time addressing the baggage and challenges within Ford and Addy.
Although the focus was on Ford and Addy, Meader put Harper Chase, the daughter to the Chicago Rebels owner, front and center in the storyline as Addy’s best friend. Harper is the heroine in Irresistible You and kick’s off the series.
If you haven’t yet read the series, then start with In Skates Trouble, otherwise, it can be read as a standalone with full enjoyment.
kate meader makes it past the tender and scores a goal with this hockey series! this is the first of four in the “rebels” series and i love it. funny, sexy, and characters you can definitely imagine hanging out with for a cocktail or two. yay kate for “in skates trouble!”
A clandestine meeting on a balcony turns into some seriously hot bedroom activities. Both Addy and Ford have some issues from the past they need to work through.
This is a quick,easy read.
Interesting characters and situation with a hea.
Great read, fast paced with a lot of stem. Kate Meader always brings the heat.
Ford is the perfect adorable sexy hockey player. A gentleman’s who knows how to talk dirty. And Addison after a divorce and learning not to let people steal her independence is not interested in a relationship. But a hysterical eavesdropping incident has lead to some extra steamy moments. Drawn to each other they can’t seem to quit one another despite crappy associations to her past that could rank his career. But he is all in and it’s a matter of breaking down her walls. I got her reluctance and why she didn’t want to be treated as a trophy but she should have seen how different Ford was from her ex. There is a difference from being treated as a trophy with no independence allowance and being held with reverence because of how much he cares about you. Loved the ending.
This book started out really great. The balcony scene promised a sizzling romance. Then it just got boring and literally nothing else happened.
This book has everything I look for in a great read. Wonderful storytelling, a coming home story with lots of emotion, complex characters, a plus size model who readers will find inspirational and a hero with a tragic past. There is plenty of attraction and seduction with the backdrop of hockey without the play by play that sometimes overshadows the plot. I really enjoy this author’s style of writing. I read a complimentary copy of this book through NetGalley and all opinions expressed in my voluntary review are completely my own.
Didn’t even bother to finish unfortunately
I liked the book overall but some parts were kind of unbelieveable. Who does what they first do at the beginning of the book? Maybe I’m kind of old-fashioned but I’d never do what they did being perfect strangers. Also, I get she is a “big” girl. I get it, don’t need to harp on it. Him accepting the fact that she is full-bodied, curvy, full figured, etc. shouldn’t be an issue. I do like that he is upfront and accepting and doesn’t play games. He is great boyfriend material. Glad, however, that the book was short and didn’t go on and on about nothing.
Enjoyable even though it is not an original premise.
I usually don’t enjoy books that feature professional athletes, but liked this one!
I’m a cradle robber and I approve of this story a million percent 🙂 not very many have an aged beauty with a younger stud. I loved it. Thank you.
Liked this book but would have liked more character development. I’d read more in the series.
Really steamy hook-ups. Loved that he risked it all for love even when there was no guarantee of a happily ever after.
What a shame. It had potential, but it was ruined in the last few paragraphs by the old, worn-out, cliché of the heroine getting knocked up at the end. Pregnancy is neither romantic nor sexy. It spells the end to spontaneous sex. They certainly won’t be having sex on the carpet anymore with one or two toddlers roaming around. And that’s assuming they even have the energy. It makes for a cop-out ending to an erotic romance novel. Also, the G-spot is a myth, but I can overlook that as it doesn’t ruin the book for me like the baby thing does.
