This book was a mixed bag for me.
It starts out with undercover FBI agent, Jack McCann sneaking home in the middle of an operation for a quickie with his wife, who obligingly opens her legs and says,
“Oh my God, oh my God.” Seconds later she was in her husband’s arms, returning kiss for kiss, pulling off his jacket as he removed his shoulder holster, unbuckling his belt so he could push the jeans down his legs.
Sala, Sharon. In Shadows . MIRA Books. Kindle Edition.
This is seconds after her house alarm sounds a warning that someone shut it off and a big, dark shadow of a man appears in the doorway. Now, I don’t know about you, but I would have freaked out and thrown a lamp at his head, at the very least.
The suspense amped up somewhat after this and there were a few page-flipping moments, but for me this book fell flat.
I give In Shadows three lovely kisses- Not her best.
In Shadows is riveting, suspenseful, and in true Sharon Sala fashion, gripping.
The love between Jack and Shelly shines through as they each go through the grief of nearly losing one another.
Sharon Sala has always been my go-to-suspense author and this book just confirms why I read all her books.
Never dull, always riveting, and a fast paced action thriller.
I highly recommend this book to everyone who loves a great suspense wrapped in a love story.
Plenty of action, thrills, and suspense. A quick easy read, perfect book for a rainy day.
Love Sharon Sala books. Strong heroine. Different from her other books. Another great read from Sharon “The Boardinghouse”. Shocking, unpredictable!
I love her books, have read many of her series.
I couldn’t put it down!

I am a Sharon Sala fan, though this is not one of her better stories.
Sharon Sala continues to deliver great reads. I always enjoy her writing. The characters draw you in and keep you hopeful for the best outcome.
There was a lot going on. The characters were interesting. but I felt it got violent halfway thru the story and I was turning pages to get thru. I’ve read her books before they are usually pretty entertaining. I just did not appreciate the violence that shows up halfway in the story.
Usually like this author but this book was boring. Characters one dimensional and plot was tired
Not as good as her previous books.
