Was easy to guess culprit, but the reason, surprised me! How much more could Thomas & Julianna endure individually and together?
Secrets, suspense, lies, lust, denial, deceit, and so much more! Which gets better then worse, then finally…………..deep breath. Truth revealed and life is as it should be.
I just love Lady Newfield, what an amazing, down to earth (for that time frame for sure) lady she is and loves her grand-daughter!
When rake Lord Altringham mistakes spinster, Julianna, for a paramore, they’re forced to wed. Lord Altringham blames Julianna for what he feels is his misfortune. He sends her to his country estate and leaves for London immediately after the wedding without really ever looking at her.
Julianna decides to go to London and make her husband fall in love with her and is surprised when he doesn’t know her. Taking on an alternate persona, amid some hilarious highjinks, she snags his attention. I recommend you purchase the book to see how it all turns out.

Clean Regency Revelation
When a marriage is forced, both parties are rendered unhappy or angry. Such is the case with Julianna and Thomas. How these two find their happiness is the foundation of In Search of Love by Rose Pearson.
I hate it when a book by an author I like is less than wonderful. Sadly, such is the case with this clean Regency revelation-romance. I understand that the author wants to keep the characters in sync with the historical period, but for some reason both characters failed to have any chemistry. They were both developed, but the dialogue lacked both negative and positive passion. At the end, there was some tenderness, but any positive emotion is better highlighted against a preceding negative emotion. There is nothing wrong with anger, and both of these characters had some cause to feel that emotion. Instead, Thomas exhibited bored indifference and Julianna just wanted to curl up in a closet and hide.
As with any review, another reader may see the story and the characters in a different light. Because this is a very clean read, I recommend that you try it and decide for yourself.
Disclosure: I received an ARC of this book from the author. I am voluntarily submitting my honest review.
It is a great historical romance with lots of suspense. Julianna Martins is compromised by Lord Altringham. He is in his cups and mistaken her for someone named Christina. They are forced to marry. On the day of their wedding Lord Altringham sends Julianna to his estate and leaves for London. After a few weeks she and her Grandmother go to London also. This is when Lord Altringham starts getting attacked. Good suspense book. This is the first book I’ve read by Rose Pearson. I will be reading more of her books.
Rose has again given us a wonderful story. She brings to our lives a story of true attitudes as they existed during the Regency. Ladies often had no control at all over their lives, and often had to take extreme measures to gain just a let control. Kissed by a previously unknown drunken man who mistakes her for another, Julianna found herself quickly married to him, and then left alone at his estate. While that might not have been typical, it did happen. What follows is her trying to win the husband she did not want, only to realize someone is trying to make her a widow. Her husband does not even recognize her as his wife as she is trying to help solve the who and why. Can she solve the mystery? Does she even want to protect his life? Will she ever find love? Fun to read. Can you solve the mystery before they do? Do you ever feel anything but contempt for her husband? Do you want them to find love?

I hate leaving less than perfect reviews but this was not one of Mrs. Pearson’s best books. This is the story of a Lord who is so drunk at a ball that he grabs an unknown young lady and kisses her in front of everyone. Of course, her grandmother is there to announce that he was overcome with emotion at their betrothal and passed out. He then marries her, without looking at her, dumps her at his country estate and goes about his business. Lord Altringham, Thomas is a ‘rake’ but has no gentlemanly qualities. The story evolves around his eroding character and poor treatment of women, but as the plot erodes, so do the characters. I think the premise of the story was good, but the journey to get there was a little difficult.

This beautifully written story features Julianna Martins, daughter of a wastrel Viscount, a shy, plain girl, lacking any self worth until her Grandmother, Lady Newfield takes her under wing. She escorts her to the ball where she is the victim of a Rake . Mistaking her for a paramour, he compromises her on the dance floor and a forced marriage results. She is then sent away to his estate while he returns to London to continue on with his despicable ways. But Grandmama will have none of that and accompanies Julianna to London to claim what is her’s. It was a joy to watch Julianna come out of her shell and grow into a confident, assertive woman. A wonderful read!

Another great book by Rose Pearson! I loved the original plot of this book. Juliana has the misfortune of having a gambling father who has no interest in her. When her grandmama appears and see to finding her a match. One unfortunate night she is accosted by a rake and forced to marry him. I loved the characters and the strengths they showed. The jealousy of Lord Fairfax was a surprise and just show you can never really fully know anyone especially a so called friend. If you like regency romance than your must read this book! Rose Pearson is the queen of the regency era genre! I look forward to reading the next book in this new series!

Great fast pace story! Love, love, love it! Rose Pearson you have done it again with this new series of Convenient Arrangements! Great characters and lots of action and excitement of new love. Lady Julianna was never one that the gentlemen would pay any kind of attention to. On her third Season in London her Grandmama was going to help her find a gentleman worthy of marriage. On the first ball of the Season she was following her Grandmama across the ball room to meet some new people when a gentleman (Lord Altringham), grabbed her by the arm mistaking her for someone else in his inebriated state and kissed her right there in front of the whole of the Ton… They were married right away and then he left her to go to his estate and he went back to London to carry on as he had never married… The twist and turns of this story and the danger and adventure to get these two together is well worth the read…could not put it down! I recommend reading this book, you will not be sorry.

I have recently started reading Rose Pearson’s books, and I am so glad I did! Each one is always just as good or better than the last. I really love this new series, Convenient Arrangements. The ladies somehow find their happily ever after in some difficult albeit convenient situations. The story was wonderfully written. The book had strong female characters. I loved that the women of the story took charge and were the ones to save the day. Ms. Pearson has a way of pulling you into the story and keeping you interested and captivated till the end and this book was no different. I am looking forward to the next book in this series!

Making a fool of yourself is not always bad.
Lord Thomas Altringham had acted the fool while drunk and now he was marrying Julianna. Then as they leave the church he sends her to his estate and he is off to London. Now with her grandmother’s assistance, she is going to London to confront her husband yet in her heart she felt it was of no real use and perhaps make things worse. Going to London was not what she expected but thank the heavens for her grandmother. I enjoyed the twist in this one it did take Thomas a bit to get it together but with the help of a young wife and person setting out to do him harm the story came to a very satisfying ending. I enjoyed the tale I would recommend it. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.

This was a well written traditional regency romance, it flowed well & the characters had depth but I disliked Thomas intensely from the start & was intrigued to see if he could be redeemed & if so how it was to be achieved. I did like Julianna who grew in confidence throughout the book & emerged as a strong woman. To be honest after her return to London & their first meeting when they literally bumped into each other I would have returned to the country, happy to spend my life away from him. There is also the mystery of who is trying to injure Thomas. My feelings for Thomas did improve but I’m still sitting on the fence about him. I also didn’t feel there was much chemistry between the pair
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read
A fantastic read the tells a story that really grasped me. I could not put it down until I finished it. It’s a real page Turner. I love these kind of reads. The Author definitely brings the world building and the Characters brought out so well. I can picture the scenes so we’ll almost like I am living them vicariously. I definitely recommend.

“In Search of Love” Convenient Arrangements (Book 2) by Rose Pearson
A fun spell-binding historical romance with a bit of a suspenseful twist that will keep you turning the pages. I received an ARC of this story with the promise of an honest review. Yes, I really liked this story. I hope you will also. Happy Reading ! !
A young lady is forced to marry a drunken rake. Good plot with a developing romance.
Lady Julianna Martin”s had to marry Lord Altringham and had not even been introduced. Loved that her grandmother talked her into meeting him in London at balls etc and not give her right name to get him to get to know her. Someone was trying to either injure or kill the Lord.
