A lady in her third Season. A lord who is a rake. A case of mistaken identity changes their lives.
Miss Julianna Martins has never allowed herself a moment to consider the rakes of London. She is not at all considered a ‘diamond of the first water’ and will soon be a spinster. Lord Altringham enjoys the London pleasures and is considered to be a rake. When he drunkenly confuses Julianna with one of his paramours, society demands he marry a lady he never met.
When her husband leaves her in the country and returns to London, Julianna plucks up the courage to take a step forward in her life.
With the help of a trusted friend, she sets out to force her husband to not only engage with her but perhaps, just perhaps, fall in love with her too.

In her third season Miss Julianna Martins wanted badly to make a match this season with the help of her grandmother. Unfortunately she ended up betrothed at her very first ball of the season even though it was by accident. When Lord Thomas Altringham kissed her, her grandmother Lady Newfield made the announcement they were to be wed. At the conclusion of the ceremony Thomas put her in a carriage to his country estate and took himself back to London. Julianna and her grandmother came up with a plan to once and for all make Thomas fall in love with her. Can they succeed? Stay tuned for a wild ending!
I love reading romance novel and this book is one of my favorite! It started badly for the heroine but she got her happy ever after in the end. Lord Altringham may not be the hero at the first part of the book but he changed and that is a good thing. Reading is my escape from the mundaneness of life and books like made me see the brighter side of things.

A change in his behavior was long overdue!
by sewsummore
Julianna’s only hope of making a good match lay in the hands of her grandmother. She was plain, quiet and thin with a father whom most of the Ton disliked. However, due to an unfortunate kiss by a drunk Earl in front of everyone she was wed to a rake. After the marriage takes place her groom dispatches her to his estate while he returns to his usual haunts in town. This odd not please her grandmother who swept her into her carriage and returned to Town where she was presented to the ton as a friend of the family, her identity hidden. What she did not expect was to come face to face with her husband who did not even recognize her as his wife. This was a sweet, clean romance with a happy ending. It was a quick read about two characters who should have avoided each other instead they become friends and the Earl comes to realize that his behavior in the past was regretful and cruel. The change in his attitude was long overdue.

I just finished reading In Search of Love (Convenient Arrangements Book 2) by Rose Pearson . This is a different kind of Regency romance where a case of mistaken identity causes a string of events that end in a hasty “shotgun wedding: Regency style. This is a clean and light hearted tale of how a husband and wife come to love one another in spite of he accidental start. Most enjoyable!
I enjoyed this Regency romance with great characters and a page-turning story that kept me glued to the book from beginning to end. I loved the dynamic and undeniable chemistry between Lord Altringham and Miss Juliana Martins. Ms. Pearson blew me away with this gripping period drama and I look forward to more from this talented author. I enjoyed this story of cat & mouse. I’m glad Juliana played her husband, because she caught and taught him a lesson. You can love your own wife. It served him right, for compromising her, not looking at her at the wedding and sending her straight to his country estate. When Juliana returned to London, he didn’t even recognize her, and danced attendance on her.
Julianna is shy and in her 3rd season with no marriage prospects. Her father has a bad reputation and wants Julianna to marry a rich man. Julianna is now in her third season, with her father’s issues, she keeps her head down and cowers from the Ton. Now in the hands of her grandmother, they are determined to find a match for her. Lord Altringham, a rake of the finest order, is well into his cups at Julianna’s first ball of the season. As he mistakes her for someone else, he kisses her and she now finds herself getting ready to marry a man who has no time for her. At their wedding, he doesn’t even look at her and when married informs her he’s heading back to London and she’s on her own. With her grandmother’s guidance she decides it’s finally time to stand up for herself and confront the man she married except he doesn’t recognize her. Determined, Julianna takes on a false identity to see what can happen and things take off from there. Feeling somewhat guilty about abandoning his wife, he still proceeds to enjoy the benefits of a few women until he now finds himself thinking he cannot do this any longer. Now with his life on the line, can he change for the better? Can he become the man that he needs to be for his wife? Through deception, he grows fond of Julianna until she finally confesses who she is. Now, they proceed to discover who is behind his death threats so they can move on. Will they discover who’s behind it time? Can they both survive this? The characters were well written as Rose always does. I really enjoyed the strength of Julianna in this story and how she grew throughout the book. I’d highly recommend for your TBR.

This book was different but fast paced. The heroine is believable. Though the hero is someone that is undeserving of her love. Part of me wants to slap sense into him. Perhaps the heroine’s grandmother had the temptation to. I got this book through bookfunnel and this is my honest and voluntary review.
I didn’t like Thomas, the Earl of Altringham. He unknowing compromised Julianna, is forced to marry her, abandons her at his estate, and then continues to act like a rake in London. I can’t imagine how most of the ton didn’t know he was married and they allowed unmarried daughters to associate with him especially when he was often in the company of widows who were loose with their favors. A formerly unnoticed wallflower Julianna hides her true identity and helps him solve the mystery of who has it out for him.
The second book in the Convenient Arrangements series a well written story with a very good storyline, the story flows smoothly from page to page. Miss Julianna Martins is in her third season when rake Lord Altringham while he is drunk does something the Ton look down on. It is a case of mistaken identity and he is forced to marry her. But a rake does not change so easily. There is suspense, drama, danger, attempted murder. A man that will learn the hard way, do not mess with your wife and leave her behind as you go back to London without her. I enjoyed reading this story. Miss Julianna Martins was attending a ball when she is publicly kissed by an unknown “gentleman” who is so drunk that he mistakes her for another woman he has been with. To avoid the harsh judgment of society, Julianna must marry the man or live in shame.
On their wedding day, they marry and the arrogant Lord Altringham banishes her to his country estate, leaves her there on her own, and returns to London to continue his pleasurable “activities”! After waiting around a few weeks, Julianna and her grandmother, Lady Newfield, follow him to London, as Julianna tries to win the favor of her errant husband. He doesn’t even recognize his own wife when he meets her again in London! (When attacks begin on Lord Altringham and someone tries to kill him, I found it difficult not to smile.)
This is not one of my favorite books by this wonderful author, but I guess that means she did an awesome job with the reader’s emotions! I totally disliked the drunk and, after a short time, nothing he did would ever make up for that initial meeting where he almost ruined a lovely young woman’s reputation with a thoughtless kiss. She was so fortunate Lady Newfield had an explanation that rescued her good name. It was refreshing to see the two ladies step up to the challenge and go after Lord Altringham to correct the unjust situation he left her in. Grab your copy and see who is after him, and whether his wife will win this “trophy husband” back.
This is a charming story of a fearful insecure wallflower who accidentally crosses paths with a known rake. Due to unforeseen circumstances they unwillingly wed. They had no choice. The H promptly abandons his bride to his estate so he can return to London and pick up where he left off. Thankfully the h had a fairy grandmother to help her along. She devised a plan for the h to go to London under an assumed name and get to know her new husband. It was painful that he did not recognize her. The h’s grandmother challenged the h to be more confident and assertive. The h rose to the challenge despite the shame of her husband’s behavior. In the meantime, someone was trying to kill the H and although he did not deserve the h’s loyalty to stand by him, he was grateful. This is an emotionally moving story with realistic feelings and emotions. A worthy read.
From a forced marriage to coming back to London to see if her husband will change leads Julianna to come back and be another person to watch and start up a relationship with her husband. Then there is the who done it that will keep you reading to see what is going to happen.
