The Scoop
By now you’re probably aware that the Alex Troutt thrillers, Ivy Nash thrillers, and the Ozzie Novak thrillers are all under the same Redemption Thriller Series umbrella. Why? Because, ultimately, they all connect — Alex, Ivy, Ozzie. How? That’s part of the mystery that I’m slowly unveiling throughout the Redemption Thriller Series.
Through each sub-series, characters from different books appear in the other novels. If it adds suspense, intrigue, or even a good laugh, I’ve included a cross-over character — it’s a lot more fun that way. Plus — and here’s the real kicker — the final six novels will bring all of the major characters together — Alex, Ivy, Ozzie. It will be explosive and gut-wrenching…in a way that will leave you breathless.more
Didn’t get too far into it. He uses too much foul language for my comfort.
Again John Mefford brings to page another page turner as he develops great characters for the series. So far I have not read one book that Mefford has written that does not deliver. His books cover the waterfront of mystery, intrigue, and very family like characters. Ive Nash begins her new company ECHO and Christina brought in a case “from the streets”. The action packed book begins and excels in action throughout. Just when you think it is going a certain way Mefford snaps in a twist or two or three or MORE and paths diverge and he takes you on so many different courses and paths and yet keeps it all together to weave a great story. The characters interacting with each other and also interacting outside their own personal world makes this a book you must read. In point of fact it would enhance your entertainment if you read the entire series. But stand alone or part of the series his Ivy Nash Redemption Series books have to be read to discover how great these books really are. The one huge thing I can say about Mr. Mefford’s books is that he ALWAYS delivers. No whimpy shallow endings and great beginnings as well as meaty middle grounds, are brought to the reader in this series by a great Author.
IN Pursuit sees Ivy face the demons from her past in order to track down her kidnapper from book 1. After leaving her CPS job her new organization, ECHO, is beginning to take off when she takes on a case from a girl Anika that Christine who now works for Ivy knows from the street – Anika is looking for her parents, not what ECHO is all about but Ivy agrees to help her find them. Something about her seemed a little off to me and my suspicions were right when the reason comes out as to why she is looking for parents after being on the streets for 5 years and now worrying about them until now.
Whilst this is going on Ivy has to deal with a murderer who is taking out people she knows or has had dealings with, he is leaving a sadistic calling card by writing on their lower backs – remnants to what happened to Ivy when she was kidnapped, the way in which he kills is gruesome and just the thought of it when reading had me shudder with fear and disgust.
There were a few hairy scary, heart in mouth moments that had me going “NOOOOOOO!” leaving me unable to stop reading no matter how late in the night it was – much to the chagrin of hubby!
You will not want to put this book down and when it ends you will want to jump straight into the next one – unfortunately we have to wait but I wish I could start it now!
This was a bloody (pun intended) good read! And you begin to get the subtle dots connecting these books to the Alex Troutt books and already I am imagining how Ivy and Alex come together – I am probably way off but I can’t wait to find out! Whilst you can read it as a stand along I recommend you read book 1 to get a feel for Ivy and her background as well as it more in depth than in this book and also we get the first dealings with the kidnapper.
