From the dark heart of Michelle Brown comes a story of love, struggle, and second chances at getting things right.Missing PiecesHe left for deployment, and I waited for him to come home. When he did, it wasn’t as perfect as I imagined. He left a piece of himself out in the desert which he’ll never get back. I was his world until everything changed in the blink of an eye. Now he wants me back, but … wants me back, but what happens when he finally sees what he’s been missing?
Shattered Fragments
The good guy always finishes last. The good girl always wants the bad boy. This happens more times than I can count.
She left me when I enlisted, said it was too hard. Well, now she’s back and this time I’m walking away.
My scars go deep, so deep they can’t be seen on the outside. If she cares enough maybe she will fix those shattered pieces. Maybe I will finally have the family I want.
In Pieces is a novella duet. Each novella follows a different couple.

This is the first words I have read by this author and I think my only complaint is that they were not long enough. I need more of the words. I did not want to leave either of these couples at all. In Missing Pieces, my heart broke so much for Sammie. Everything she had to endure. Then everything that Cameron had to overcome to move forward for Sammie. It was beautiful to see their love endure. In Shattered Fragments, I love the connection that Chase and Malia have. It is instant. Even with everything thrown at the two of them, they find a way to make it work. It was absolutely stunning to read. But yeah… Can we have more?? LOL
Michelle Brown has proven that she has a softer side with these two sweet love stories. I highly recommend you read them!
Michelle Brown hit it out of the park with this duet. I was not prepared for all the feelings she pulled from me with it. I read it in one sitting because I couldn’t put it down.
Missing Pieces – 5 stars
This story hit me hard. The main characters had plenty of chemistry but it was the passion and the deeper emotions they held for each other that really sang. The world-building was a little lower than I prefer but considering the length, I find it solid. The storyline hurt me in the best way possible, by bringing out all the emotions. I cried for these characters and wanted more. It’s the best feeling to have when something pulls me in so strong that the rest of the world disappears. Michelle Brown accomplished that with this story.
Shattered Fragments – 5 stars
This one was really interesting to me. I love the way the author depicted all the issues each character faced both individually and collectively with each other. Michelle Brown gave characters that were realistic, nothing was perfect and I could identify with that. This story was a bit faster with more suspense, showcasing yet a different side to the author’s writing. I loved the depth to this.
Overall this duet was a quick and satisfying read. The author’s characters truly shined. 5 stars for an emotional and compelling read.
“Wiping the tears from my eyes, I stare at his matching glossy green ones, that’s when I know that no matter what he does to me, I would willingly walk into the fire just to be his again.”
I love, love, love what the Author did with combining two novellas together surrounding two couples stemming from a connection made while deployed. The first, high school sweethearts torn apart by the unthinkable, try to find their way back to each other through a frustrating and emotional road. I enjoyed the not-so-pretty way they made their way back, and the epilogues and natural segway into the next story. Even novella length, you got a complete story with heat, heart, and mega feels!
“My mom always told me that your heart knows before your mind does, and I know in that moment Chase Abbott has the power to crush my heart.”
We meet Chase in the first novella, and in the second we’re treated with his story. There’s a whole lot to unpack with these two characters, and while Chase steamed up my kindle, there may have been a little too much going on for a novella. All that reared it’s ugly head with these two felt a little rushed, slightly overpowering the story, and felt slightly unrealistic, but I loved the characters and the romance of their story. Their attraction was palpable, and they were steamy as all get out. All in all, I enjoyed these stories very much and thank the Author for providing a copy to review!!
