My name is Dove Hendry.Mine is Kingston Axton.I was captured by darkness. She has always been ours… culture.
A culture that she is about to become the center of.
The Brothers of Kiznitch come in fours, and they’re not happy about me being hustled into their acts.
Or are we? Careful, Little Bird. A warning is a warning for a reason…
Mind-tricks.
Stunts.
Deceit.
Power.
But there’s something uglier that has been haunting me for years upon years. So ugly that I have never seen its face. I never had to. I’d hear his whispers through my internal screams, feel his shadow brush against my nightmares. He was my the monster that tormented me.
And maybe lived under your bed…
When I started Midnight Mayhem, his presence faded.
His whispers were silenced.
His shadow dissolving without a trace.
I wondered why that was.
She didn’t have to wonder for long…

This book sets a new bar for strange to me, which I always find in Jones’ books. It involves kidnapping, a circus (of sorts), dancing, stalking, mafia influences, and so much more. If you’re looking for something different, this is the book for you!

Review What an emotional ride!
This book had me confused most of the time but in a good way. Oh God, where to start? It’s hard writing a review for this book without giving much away.
I first read of Midnight Mayhem in “Manik” and I curious to know more about this crew. And it’s definitely not a circus nor a carnival.
We meet Dove, (who later we discover that she’s really P), a dancer at a strip club. She’s abducted and forced to be part of the Midnight Mayhem show. To dance for them.
Before that she had a tragic past and was stalked all her life by, “The Shadow” and constantly has flashbacks of events, but doesn’t know what they mean.
From the start, she’s attracted to King. One of the four Brother.
Fast forward some months later, and so much come to light that my head was spinning.
P understands why she’d always been attracted to King and learns that their connections is since birth and against all odds, they get their happy ending.
Overall, it was an interesting book with a lot of drama, emotion, and mystery.
The only thing that I would say had me dazed, was the large cast. this book has a lot of characters and it was hard keeping up with all of them, their relevance to the story and how they were linked to everyone else.
In Peace Lies Havoc grabbed my attention from the very first page and held it until the very last. Amo Jones did a good job of writing a book that had my mind constantly considering where this story was going to go and what the circumstances involving Dove, Midnight Mayhem and the Brothers of Kiznitch (in particular Kingston) were. The only downside I have, is due to there being many different characters and subplots I found the story a little confusing at times, but then maybe the author just wanted to play tricks with our minds? I know that there is definitely more to come in book two which will hopefully provide the answers to the questions that I am left with. I cannot wait!
I seem to be unable to stop myself from falling for the bad boys in books and Kingston most certainly has this presence that I know all the ladies will fall for. All four of the Brothers of Kiznitch are dark, mysterious, brooding, possessive and dangerous. I cannot wait to see what happens next with them.
I didn’t know what to make of Dove at times. She is taken from her everyday life and injected into this confusing and terrifying situation yet it didn’t stop her from being herself. I could see the connection and attraction between her and King which is why I felt that she pandered to his needs and wants far too easily, yet at times she also showed strength and determination. I did take time to appreciate the effects that music and dance have on her. To be able to use these arts to get lost in and help with emotions is something that I personally can’t relate to. But I’ve decided that I should introduce listening to music to my daily routine. I’m not sure I’ll be as good at dancing as Dove though
A great start to this new series. I am already looking forward to those ‘sitting on the edge of my seat’ moments that I’m anticipating will be in the next book too.

“My clothes still smell like you
And all the photographs say you’re still young
I pretend I’m not hurt
And go about the world like I’m having fun
We get crazy every Friday night
Drop it like it’s hot in the pale moonlight
Grand Ole Opry
We’re feeling alright
Mary’s swaying softly to her heart’s delight.”
Body Electric – Lana Del Rey
I was roaming around this Christmas, looking for something dark and twisty… I’d been told that this book was IT and that I should read it right away. AND I DID.
What’s this book about? (I’m trying to give as little spoilers as possible)
Dove is a born dancer and she’s plucked from her life to take part in Midnight Mayhem. The four hot brothers Kingston, Killian, Kyrin and Keaton are there to guide her way (I laugh at this devilish misdirection). Evil witch, is this a fairy tale story where the good guy gets the girl? I don’t think so, *smirk* *smirk*.
First of all, let me say, I’m a binger. I binge books. I couldn’t binge this one due to my new-found thought process: I acted like I was in a strip club and I couldn’t afford to be hit with the entire beauty of this book in one night. I needed multiple nights. LOL. I preferred to slow dance (the steamy kind) with it, so that I could enjoy it for longer. I took it slow, for I’d been warned of the twisty ending and I didn’t need a broken heart for the holidays (BEEN THERE DONE THAT). I was constantly on fear mode, paranoid that this steamy haze would soon be stripped away. The next time I read it, and I’ll definitely re-read before the second book comes out, I’ll just binge-read it in one night since it’s an easy read like that. I loved the characters. Dove was an excellent lyrical-I, easing the reader and herself into this new and mysterious world that radiates sensual vibes. I enjoyed her interactions with the other women of the novel a lot, considering that this book had. So. Many. Hot. Guys. Honestly, this story is a whole tease. I’m not even going to go there; just read it for yourself. I always read the book at night, to feel the book’s effects. I’m moody like that. Also, I spent the majority of the book Spotify-searching all the mentioned songs and adding them to my playlists because A MOOD.
Whenever I read stories about any type of performers (the worst are with singers UGH), I always fear that there’ll be this cliché focus on banal things (senseless and page-long descriptions of what you feel as you grace the stage & everyone’s cheering you on etc etc AIN’T NOBODY GOT TIME TO FEEL SH!T ON THE STAGE, YOU UP THERE TO DO YOUR THING AND THAT’S IT-rant over-), but I can say that this story wasn’t at all like that. Dove’s energy felt organic. I can confirm that a 100%.
This is my first Amo Jones book and it will not be the last. I’m eagerly awaiting book two of the series (In Fury Lies Mischief, coming March 10, 2020).
If you’re a true romantic, like the evil witch that’s writing this review, here goes a completely out of context Mariah Carey lyric that you’ll understand (hopefully LOL maybe I’m overanalyzing) once you’ve read the book:
“Spread your wings and prepare to fly […]
If you should return to me
We truly were meant to be
So spread your wings and fly.”
Butterfly – Mariah Carey
In Peace Lies Havoc hooked me from the beginning. I loved the darkness. I loved the mystery. I loved Dove herself. And I was obsessed with the four men in black bandanas. About halfway through, however, the story started to lose me. Which could totally just be on me because I’ve been in a book funk lately. Add in the holidays and it wasn’t a great time for reading in general. The mystery got to be too much. I love mystery in a book, but it had reached the point where trying to decipher a story that had holes throughout and made very little sense was exhausting. The chemistry between Dove and King was palpable from the get go and that kept me going. I will probably try another one of this author’s titles in the future when I’m no longer in a book funk.
5 ADDICTING STARS!! This book is like a addicting drug….I could not get enough of this original story….I NEED MORE!!! When I say original I mean it…..so different from any other book I have read. Midnight Mayham is PERFECTION…..dark, sexiness, family and friendship and lots of craziness. Amo Jones what have you done to me…..I am dying right now for more. You must read this book.
This peace and havoc is brilliant! 5 stars
Wow, what did I just read?! I was intrigued from the beginning, then I was captivated by each page I read. I had no idea where this story was going, and it was exhilarating! This was such a unique setting for a book, and it was an immersive and fascinating world and characters that the author created. Dove has not had an easy life, and I felt for her. Kingston is a sexy, broody, moody, enigma, and I couldn’t read fast enough to find out what made him tick. Dove was drawn to Kingston, and so was I. They have combustible chemistry. As I was reading, it felt like Dove and Kingston have a past connection. So what happens when they can’t fight their chemistry anymore but then the past gets revealed? I was trying to figure out the clues through the book, but when the reveal came I was wrecked and shocked! This was an emotional, brilliant, intense, unique, captivating, immersive read that I highly recommend!
I received a copy of this ebook from Candi Kane PR for my honest review.
You can always rely on Amo F***ing Jones for a mind f*ck of a book, and this was freaking killer!!! I wish I could give more than Five Stars!! Gold button please!!!!
This gripped me from the first page and I was hard pressed to put it down, I nearly burnt the damn brownies!! I can usually multi-task but not when reading an Amo Jones book!!
You need to one click this if you haven’t already!!
“Eye contact is the language that on one can speak, but chemistry is fluent with; it’s the language of fate. It’s two souls catching on fire without a single word being spoken.”
What a ride. Seriously, this book is pure perfection! From the first page to the last, my eyes were glued to the pages and I had to rip them off for a break or two. The addicting writing style from Amo Jones put me under the spell of Midnight Mayhem and the Kiznitch brothers.
“He’s everything you were instilled to fear as a little girl. He’s your father’s worst nightmare and your mother’s wet dream.”
From the beginning until the end, the reader is kept as much in the dark as the h. That makes the thrill and angst so lively. I love how the story was rolled out, how the chemistry and relationship between the characters developed throughout the book and the secrets that had to be solved.
“That’s the thing with King and me. We write our story in invisible ink, so no one else can read it.”
In Peace Lies Havoc is a dark, thrilling roller-coaster, full of angst and addicting characters. It’s gritty and clever and the mind games will make your head spin. It’s definitely one of my top favorite reads this year!
“Love is a battlefield, and my knight is a villain.”
The Brothers of Kiznitch come in fours, and they’re not happy about me being hustled into their acts.
Or are we? Careful, Little Bird. A warning is a warning for a reason…
Once you start reading this book you will not stop until you reach the very end! “OH MY GOD” & “Wait, WHAT THE FUCK”, were the two phrases i kept on using again and again while reading.
I love Alpha heroes and here i got to read not about one but four . “Dove” I just loved her. I love heroines who have a backbone and not just whine and cry all the damn time. Her flashbacks were really interesting, I love guessing the plots and getting it right (which i did ). But I still was dumbfounded during some scenes so Amo you are good….. I’ll figure everything out next time . Also can we just talk about THE CAGE SCENE! I had to read it twice because I couldn’t believe my eyes. I was like NOOOO WHAAT and then remember what Deliah said.
Honestly this is one of the best books i have read this year so far and trust me I have read A LOT.
.
Spoiler Ahead
The only problem i had with this book is that in the end “Dove” forgave king to easily. I wanted her to torture King a little more make him chase her not the other way around.
I recommend this book to everyone who loves reading dark romance novels. You need to immediately buy this book and read it. Go. Do it now
5++++ stars when they said that you need to take the day off to read this book i should have listened. It appeared on my kindle and hour before work so i made the biggest mistake of my life starting it then, i swear i went to the toilet so many times at work im sure everyone thought there was something wrong with me , then as soon as i got home fed kids cleaned and locked my self in the room was not sleeping until it was all finished. Anyone that knows me knows that Amo Jones is one of my all time favourite authors who i read no matter what . So i knew this was a must read but i didnt know that it would leave me in such a daze that atm i dont know what to do with myself. Amo has really outdone herself with this one. I couldn’t put it down, the house could have been burning to the ground and i still wouldnt have. I was so drawn to this book it wasnt funny. And its funny because just last week i went to carnival too and while i was there i thought of this book. This book has it all its such a rollercoaster of a ride it has the sexy ass men , it has the lies the mystery the secrets, it has the sexual chemistry that can burn you just by reading the pages and it has the raw passion of the two characters that once put together makes an atomic bomb. This book really was something else i cannot wait to get it on paperback . I hope all of the boys including Kohen get their own book and i hope somehow Rose does too. It cant be read as a standalone as it doesnt end in a cliffhanger. A MUST READ BY ALL BUT BE WARNED IT IS DARK AS AMO IS THE QUEEN OF DARK!!!! (less)
Wow! Havoc is right!
There is a lot to follow in this book so that is the only reason I didn’t give 5 stars, but I also understand this book is an introduction of sorts. Don’t miss out on this excellent book by not reading it. The mystery and suspense in this book is off the charts and the story weaves itself so well. I love the way the author blends in modern music and dance into the story and the complexity of the characters keeps you from putting the book down.
This is a dark romance book and some of the violence could be intense if don’t usually read it, but was perfect mix for me.
This book is decadently dark and totally captivating. This book takes you on a ride and you just don’t where you will end up. It’s mysterious and wholly consuming. I couldn’t stop reading it. Page after page, I just had to see how this book would play out.
So many twists you don’t see coming.
The story revolves around King and Dove but the secondary characters are a huge part of this story. King is very much an alpa and not a knight in shining armor more mysterious, dangerous & unwillingly protective. Dove is a strong and adaptive heroine. They have undeniable chemistry and have an extremely intense push and pull relationship.
Amo Jones does an amazing job of weaving this dark and enticing world that draws you in and you feel like a part of it. This book does not end on a cliffhanger but does leave you dying for more Midnight Mayhem. I highly recommend this book and I seriously can not wait for the next book!
I wish there was a way to give more than 5 stars!!
Have you ever read a book that you as real engrossed that when it ended you were devastated? I think I’m there right now!! This book is full of head games that will leave yours spinning. I have read a few books that can take you on one hell of an emotional rollercoaster, but I think In Peace Lies Havoc is at the #1 spot for me. In case you haven’t figured it out yet I absolutely loved this book. There is so much going through my head at the moment. The biggest question is what did I just read?! I’m just sitting here trying to wrap my head around all the deceit and mind games that are being played.
Our main characters are a sassy as hell young lady who finds herself living in the shadows. She thinks life is better if you are “unseen” and unheard. Since a tragic event occurred when she was younger the once happy go lucky young girl has withdrawn into herself. Our hero is a HUGE alphahole! When I say alphahole I mean alphahole. I’m not gonna lie there were times when everything was going on I really wanted to thunder punch him in the junk. Dove and King’s road was a long and twisted road filled with so much betrayal and heartache.
If you looking for a book full of hearts and flowers this one is not for you. This book contains dark, gritty, and obsessive kind of love. This book was not at all what I thought it was going to be. I was so engrossed and intrigued from the first page all the way to the last. I can not wait for the second book in this series.
What can I say about this book but WOW!!! I bought this book because of all the hype I was seeing about it and I needed to read it for myself. I am so glad that I did! I enjoyed it so much! It was dark and at times, twisted. I immediately had to start reading Manik afterwards. Amo Jones is one of my new favorites!!!!
Ohhhh, I can already tell this is a series that I will find myself lost in over and over again. In Peace Lies Havoc is the first book in Amo’s new series, Midnight Mayhem, and oh dear god if you love the Elite King’s, this is a series you fall hard for. It is everything that we have come to love; all the darkness, secrets, lies, mindf%#$ and holy hotness. This author writes an alpha like no other.
My favorite part is the world she created, think dark carnival…simply enchanting and a side dose of fear that will have you on the edge of your seat waiting to see what happens next.
Run, and grab your copy now so you can fall for the dark chaos as quick as I did!!
I never know what to do with Amo Jones books. I’m strangely drawn to them and yet don’t usually enjoy reading them. But I’m always compelled to finish the book even though I’m prone to DNFs. Jones has a way of getting readers hooked. I’m always super curious what kind of dark and twisted tale she is going to weave.
I don’t even know how to describe this. Dove is kidnapped into sort of a really fucked up x-rated circus. She is forced to perform with the mysterious King, a man she cannot fight her attraction to.
“Welcome to Midnight Mayhem. We are not a circus, we are not a carnival, and the only thing that you should be afraid of losing tonight, is your sanity… ”
In Peace Lies Havoc, lascivious in deliverance and debauched in nature, is threaded with devious intent and wanton twists, creating an intricate, rich narrative of eroticism and darkness intertwined with an aura of shadowed mysteriousness that will arouse your innate curiosity. Amo Jones will lure you into this wicked, vicious domain of marvellous enchantment and sensuous enticement; a form of decadent madness that will devour you and render you intoxicated.
“He’s everything you were instilled to fear as a little girl. He’s your father’s worst nightmare and your mother’s wet dream. He carries himself with confidence and danger. His felonious smirk is one thing, but the way his eyes dismiss you is another.”
Kingston Axton embodies my favourite kind of anti-hero—an obsessive fascination encased in intense and inexorable domination; a ruthless manifestation of dark intent, driven by indecent and indelicate domineerance; a transfixion of crude command that will enthrall and enamour you in irreversible ways. Callous indifference and ruthless ambition to terrorise only pulled me in further into this anti-hero’s dangerous but irresistible vortex.
“What happened between the two of us toward the end was intense, strong enough to weave the strings we both agreed we wouldn’t have.”
Countless secrets and shredded weaves of disordered memories showcase an indescribable, fractured past, living and breathing inside the shadows of Dove Hendry’s tattered life. Glimpses into this heroine’s chaotic and desolate life, despite being limited, creates an interesting and haunting background; her difficulties fuelling a hardened determination to flourish and survive. In dance, Dove exudes strength, a beautiful form of self-expression to capture her audience into an inexorable daze.
“I can’t fuckin’ share you, P. Ever. Even when you’re not mine officially, you’re still mine. That’s how it’s always going to be.”
Inflamed passion crackled through the chapters. It burned and flared, the flames that thrived between King and Dove, allowing the connection to blossom into something intense and momentous. I adored the scintillating sexual tension that flowered as it became more heated and undeniable, magnified by an enemies to lovers overtone that made this dark romance an utter addiction and unmatched contender in an overflowing sub-genre.
“Eye contact is the language that no one can speak, but chemistry is fluent with; it’s the language of fate.”
Without doubt, Amo Jones created an enthralling narrative—the stunning setting, painted with bright colour and the descriptive, vibrant illustrations entwined together aided in visualisation. It made In Peace Lies Havoc more evocative than assumed, leaving me with an increased excitement to delve further into this wicked environment.
Amo Jones has done it again. The suspense will keep you on the edge of your seat. Your mind will be twisted at the edgy character. Your emotions will be taking for a ride, so hold on.
If you read one book in 2019, it should be In Peace Lies Havoc by Amo Jones. I blazed through the pages and never wanted to leave Midnight Mayhem
