In Over Her Head: Lights, Camera, Anxiety is the 2nd book in the young adult Cecily Taylor series by Krysten Lindsay Hager. I really enjoyed the first book in this series and was looking forward to seeing what was in store next for Cecily and Andrew.
This is a really great young adult romance book, which is also suitable for older adults like myself who enjoy and good romance novel.
One thing I love so much about this series of books is the way that the subject of anxiety is so well dealt with. I, myself suffer from crippling anxiety and can relate so much to Andrew’s character but even more so to Cecily; always assuming the worst when you don’t get a reply to a text, seeing the worst in every situation. This totally resonates with me and I really hope that many young adults, those suffering from anxiety and also those who do not, would gain a great deal by reading this book. Not everything in life is rosy for everyone. Some people struggle to get from one day to the next and this book does a great job of dealing with this issue.
I also loved seeing Cecily start to bloom into a more confident version of herself, going out of her comfort zone at times to help achieve her dreams.
This is a great book which I would definitely recommend.
In Over Her Head: Lights, Camera, Anxiety by Krysten Lindsay Hager is book two of The Cecily Taylor Series. You should read book one before reading this book.
Cecily has it all or at least it feels like it. She’s got the best friend, the boyfriend, the great job. It’s all going so well. That is u til her best friend d starts ditching her and everything seems to spiral from there until it crashes down when she sees a picture of Andrew with another girl. Was everything picture perfect or too good to be true?
I enjoyed this book! It’s pretty relatable in terms of Cecily’s anxiety and journey away from perfection. The story is so well written and the characters are great and very well developed. I definitely recommend!
A good, easy read. I read this book as a stand alone book without having read the first book in the series. This did not cause me any problems. Definitely a young adult book but I still managed to enjoy it at the age of 36. A good read from Krysten Lindsay Hager. Looking forward to the next installment.
Now Cecily has all she wants will her world end up perfect or will it come crashing down around her.
Cecily is now famous with her acting and modelling but getting used to the celebrity life especially being so young in the middle of this crazy world but she still has one constant with Andrew. He is the only person who seems to get her, although one night may change that forever.
Andrew is living the dream, a great career and a beautiful girlfriend but one night may ruin his life as he knows it when he is photographed with a woman on his shoulder but even when he tries to deny it and is at a loss how this has happen, his whole world seems to be spiralling out of control.
This is a great addition to the series and brings the life of Cecily back into the forefront, the chemistry between the two main characters is off the pages and with the surprises along the way this story will have you gripped. I loved the young angst and that Cecily although has a lot of pressure on her at a young age is dealing with growing up in the media with growing up full stop.
The story was well written and the second characters added to the story brilliantly and I want a Grandma like Cecily as she was probably my favourite character in the series. I can’t wait to read more books by this author.

In Over Her Head
Lights, Camera, Anxiety
The Cecily Taylor Series
Book 2
By Krystal Lindsay Hager
This is the perfect YA story. It is a full length novel that is set for those young women in high school. Set for those 12 and older, with a nice storyline.
Cecily believes she has it all. Great friends, a modeling job and is dating her favorite musician. Even though for now it must remain a secret, she is happy until? Until everything around her changes. Her best friend is ghosting her. Everything between the girls is great until Lila’s boyfriend calls. Then she puts up a cold feeling that makes Cecily feel like she does not exist. What is happening between Cecily and her friends? Will secrets be shared?
Krysten Lindsay Hager knows her teen world well. This is every young girl’s fairytale. The highs and lows that every teen experiences. The emotions in this story will be thrown and you will feel this too. I love the characters; they are every young girl’s friends. So much in this story is set for the young teens it attracts and feels like home. I will recommend this story to the teens out there who need to read this. Well done Krysten Lindsay Hager! Well Done.
In Over Her Head: Lights, Camera, Anxiety was a read I was not totally expecting. It was really nice to read about the main characters be open (for the most part) about their anxieties about anything and everything. Cecily has anxiety that is present throughout this story, she is also very strong. It was weird reading about someone else’s anxiety, it made mine come out while reading this sometimes. It was a story about regular teen issues and a bit of drama, but in a way that anyone could read and enjoy it. I loved reading more about these characters and seeing where their journeys are heading.
In over her head by Krysten Lindsay Hager a sweet as sugar four-star read. This is number two in the Cecily Taylor series and I love the first and enjoyed this one just as much. It was nice reading this, it takes me back to being a teenager and remembering first love and all of the complications that go with it. It also makes me so glad I am not a teenager any more as I couldn’t deal with the hassle of social media mixed in with hormones and drama.
This is the second novel in The Cecily Taylor Series and I personally recommend that you read the first book before diving into this one. This one deals with where Cecily is after making her big decision that was the center of the first book. I won’t give much details outside of what you already find in the synopsis because that would spoil the whole novel in my opinion. This is one you will find yourself feeling a tad nostalgic if you are more my age, for your high school years. I personally loved high school so this was right up my alley and felt relatable in some ways. I like how this may not be the easiest storyline to find believable outside of dreams but the way the characters grow and develop with what is happening and the coming of age is very true to the realities that teenagers face on the daily. I will be sharing this series with my daughter in the near future before she dives into high school herself. I think this is another good quality for a book to have. The ability to span across ages and touch each reader. Ms. Hager does a wonderful job of this. I very much look forward to seeing what will come in the third book.
In Over Her Head: Lights, Camera, Anxiety is book two in the Cecily Taylor series by Krysten Lindsay Hager. This series is a fabulous one for the young lover of romance. They are sweet with just enough angst and drama to keep you avidly glued to the pages, without being too descriptive or suggestive. Cecily seems to have it all. A career that was about to take off, a boyfriend that was both sweet and attentive, and a life that was envied and respected. But there would not be a story if there wasn’t dramatics, emotions and something to test the characters. It is what keeps me going back for more and turning each page. This story is one to be enjoyed by all ages, but it will definitely appeal to the young. And the young at heart. 4 stars.
In Over Her Head: Lights, Camera, Anxiety by Krysten Lindsay Hager is the second book in The Cecily Taylor series. The story picks up from the first book as we read that Cecily and Andrew are continuing to talk and date. The two of them are figuring out what a long distance relationship entail as Andrew goes off to work on writing and recording some songs. Add into this stress and anxiety, Cecily’s best friend Lila pulls away when Cecily voices her opinion on Lila taking back her ex boyfriend. This is something I know many teens experience where a friend seems to push others away to be with someone. It is a learning experience for all involved. I really enjoyed reading this second book. I would recommend this series to any young woman.
Cecily feels like she has it all: great best friends, the beginnings of a career as a model/actress, and she’s dating her favorite singer, Andrew Holiday. Just when it seems like all her dreams are coming true, everything comes crashing down when a photo of Andrew with another girl appears online. Cecily is no different to any teen except being in the spotlight of course, but she still has the teenage angst, anxieties, friendship issues, drama which makes her a relatable character. Krysten Lindsay Hager captures the teenage experience really well in this series. All the emotions you experience as a teenager, then heightened by the idea of secretly dating your celebrity crush.
In Over Her Head: Lights, Camera, Anxiety by Krysten Lindsay Hager is the second book in the Cecily Taylor series. This is a well written YA book that is perfect for the younger fans of romance. I really enjoyed how this book looked at things from the perspective of what happens after the HEA. It’s not often that you get to see that from characters in depth and it was great to be able to revisit these ones.
I thought the story was well written and had a great flow about it. I enjoyed getting to know these characters even more and felt like I was part of Cecily’s journey. This is and overall enjoyable book and definitely worth your time.
3 Stars
In Over Her Head: Lights, Camera, Anxiety is the second book in The Cecily Taylor series by Krysten Lindsay Hager.
This is a little more angsty than the first book, with anxiety, misunderstandings, and jealousy, the order of the day. It is a YA romance story- with teenage drama, friendship, angst, jealousy, and first love.
Again, as with the first book, this is definitely suited to a younger audience, that’s not to say that I don’t enjoy YA stories, because I do- but I found this one a little too teenage drama-ish for me to fully connect with or appreciate as much as I would have liked to.
Still, I am glad I read it and will check out Book #3 to see what happens next.
Thank you, Krysten Lindsay Hager!
3.5 stars
In Over Her Head: Lights, Camera, Anxiety (The Cecily Taylor Series Book 2) by Krysten Lindsay Hager is a sweet YA romance that will delight YA readers. It takes up where the first book, Can Dreams Come True? leaves off. It is a quick read with teenage drama and angst with a dose of anxiety.
Cecily is trying to deal with fame and dating someone famous in the background. Jealousy and uncertainties make for a precarious relationship. Do you believe everything you read see?
This is the second book in The Cecily Taylor series. This is a Young Adult Romance novel and is 220 pages. This story follows Cecily and Andrew. Cecily finally feels like she has it all together. Great friends, the start of a great career, and a great boyfriend. But something is amiss. Her BFF Lila starts bailing every time Lila’s BF calls. Anxiety starts to kick in and to make matters worse, Andrew is photographed with another girl. He swears up and down nothing happened, but she is devastated. Was this is all real or just a fantasy?
Guys, what a way to end a series. I do hope Krysten decides to maybe write some more in the future so we see where Cecily and Andrew are, if Cecily’s modeling career takes off or even maybe where her grandmother is. But I have to say this book was absolutely amazing. I love Krysten’s writing and the way Cecily is living every girls dream. If you are looking for a dream come true book this is the book and the series to read, it was amazing.
Is a nice funny, sweet romance. We catch up with Celicy and see how she’s coping Cecily is no different to any teen except being in the spotlight of course, but she still has the teenage angst, anxieties, friendship issues, drama which makes her a relatable character. The disparity between the real world and the celebrity world leaves Cecily with low self-esteem and makes her doubt her relationships. It explores first love, celebrity, conflicted friendships, misunderstandings, secrets and the negativity of social media. Well written, this story is easy reading, for any age group, but has the most appeal for its intended audience.
In Over Her Head is the second novel in the Cecily Taylor series by Krysten Lindsay Hager. This is my second novel by this author.
Cecily is now dating her favorite singer, Andre Holliday. But things can get complicated when he is in L.A. for two weeks and not be able to talk much. With their relationship still new, will it be able to handle the time apart?
I loved the first novel and was excited about this one. Cecily grows a lot in this novel when it comes not only to her relationship with Andrew but also her relationship with other friends.
I wish I had read this novel in high school. It would have helped me a lot.
I highly recommend and hope for another novel in this series.
Book Review: In Over Her Head: Lights, Camera, Anxiety ( Book 2 in the Cecily Taylor Series )
Author: Krysten Lindsay Hager
Four Stars
Cecily and Andrew have the cards stacked against them. Long distance, rock star and small town girl, rumors, videos, and those horrid people in the www who like to talk bad about others.
Can their relationship as young and new and fresh as it is withstand all the gossip and distance?
Only time will tell.
In this story we also meet Cecily’s grandma and she is a true joy to read about. LOVE that she gets her own chances.
