Cecily wants a big life, but can she handle it?Cecily feels like she has it all: great best friends, the beginnings of a career as a model/actress, and she’s dating her favorite singer, Andrew Holiday. Then Cecily’s best friend Lila begins to ditch her every time Lila’s boyfriend calls. Cecily feels lost, but she and Andrew begin connecting more and she’s never been in a relationship where she … where she felt so understood. Andrew even begins to confide in her about his anxiety. Soon Cecily experiences her own anxiety on a magazine photo shoot, but she manages to impress the magazine staff. Just when it seems like all her dreams are coming true, everything comes crashing down when a photo of Andrew with another girl appears online. He swears nothing happened, but Cecily is crushed. She feels like she’s lost two of the people closest to her.

Readers’ Comments
“Lots of teenage drama so I like this a lot. The author seems to know what’s going on in teenage girls’ heads. That’s impressive.” Girl, age 13.
“I like the writing style. Although it was a bit slow to get going, there was plenty of anguish for the characters as the story went on. Friend problems, boyfriend problems, all the sort of problems teenagers worry about. I would read another book by this author.” Girl, age 15
“The characters grew a lot in this story as they went through all the drama and crisis of growing up. It was a bit cheesy in parts, but teenagers like cheese! There was plenty of pace and I was never bored.” Girl, age 15
“Cecily is a cool character and a good role model. I like the way she thinks. I loved the title too – I thought it was clever.” Boy, age 16

Self esteem.
Lies at the heart of this YA read. Cecily is in her first sort of secret relationship with Andrew.
Told first person, from Cecily’s pov this was a nice YA read that dips a little toe in a tiny bit of Adulting 101.
She will need to confront an image of Andrew with another girl.
