Wynn family bonds bend but never break. . . . “Kelly Jamieson is an auto-buy for me.”—Carly Phillips JP Wynn: I admit, I’ve made some bad choices—on and off the ice. Now all I want to do is show my team I can control my emotions while I’m playing and redeem myself with my family, especially with my brother, Théo. I hate that I hurt him and I’m determined to stay out of trouble. But the hot … out of trouble.
But the hot bridesmaid at Théo’s wedding is tempting me into another bad decision.
A little flirting and a hook up with Taylor seem harmless . . . until Manny Martinez jumps me on the dance floor and starts beating the crap out of me.
And just like that I add one more bad decision to my résumé.
Taylor Hart: I always thought hockey players were hot. Now I think they’re crazy.
Manny broke my heart when he got traded to another team and left without even a goodbye.
Then he showed up at my best friend’s wedding. All I wanted to do was show Manny that I was over him.
And the groom’s sexy brother, JP, seemed more than willing to be my distraction.
But after the way everything went down, I want nothing to do with any of them.
Easier said than done. Especially when Lacey’s new brother-in-law is always around. . . .
And I keep thinking about the wedding night, when we snuck away to his room for the best sex of my life.

4 1/2 STARS!
A hockey dynasty carries on! After reading Book One in this series, I was excited for it to continue, but in all honesty I wasn’t sure JP could be redeemed into a good guy after knowing what we knew about him. I was wrong. Kelly Jamieson did an amazing job of showing his true heart and spirit very early in this book and making me start to swoon. Taylor was a bit hard to like considering how she treated him, but in the end they panned out into an enjoyable couple. Really loving this Wynn family and looking forward to a lot more to come from them!
Jean Paul Wynn knows walking into his big brother’s wedding festivities that he’s not going to be well accepted by family and friends here, so finding a sexy bridesmaid to blow off a little steam with doesn’t seem like a bad idea … until it is. Did he really just get punched by some dude at his brother’s wedding reception?
Taylor Heart isn’t looking for a man at this point in her life, but JP is hard to resist … especially after they hook up for some of the best sex of her life. Only now her ex Manny is acting like he owns her when he starts throwing fists around. Both of them are now on her bad side. Men!
I received a review copy of this book before release for an honest review.
This is book 2 in a new series and it was even better than the first one. Does it stand alone? It can I suppose but it really doesn’t. There are things that happen in the first book that really effect this storyline so its really best if you read the first story first then read this one.
This is JP’s story, he is the guy that stole his brothers girlfriend and he is trying to make it up to his brother Theo. But he is kinda a screw up. He ends up having sex with Taylor at Theo’s wedding rehearsal and then wedding reception. Until he finds out Taylor has a boyfriend, a fellow hockey player who beats him up.
Taylor meanwhile is so DONE with hockey players and just wants to meet a calm and normal nice guy. And she does so for part of the story she is with this other guy. And that gives JP and her a chance to form a friendship which I loved. I loved watching these two fall in love and really see the other.
This was a fun and wonderfully written story and I absolutely adored JP and how he tries so hard to do better but it usually blows up in his face.
3.5 stars
While I was not a big fan of Taylor, I completely loved JP. After the trouble he caused with Théo, I wasn’t sure if I could like him even after he admitted fault and took responsibility for what he did. But he definitely won me over in this book. Taylor I just found difficult to relate to. I cannot wait for more books in this series, though.
An engaging, enjoyable read
Book 2 in the Wynn Hockey series, I missed book 1 in the series but I’ve enjoyed other books I’ve read by the author, so I went ahead and picked up this (and I’ve picked up that first book in the meantime). While this book worked well as a standalone, I will say that you’d almost certainly have a different experience having read book 1 first, as you’d have a different perspective on JP than I did coming in with no opinion on him at all. You see, there has been some bad blood between JP and Théo in the past (though they’re working on mending fences in this book), and since book 1 is about Théo and Lacey, and is from their perspectives, and Theo’s opinion of JP at that point is less than favorable…well, I think you get what I mean. Plus the family relationships are complicated—which I actually liked, because real life is often messy that way—so reading the series in order might give you a little better handle on who everyone is, and how they interact with everyone else.
Though I mostly liked Taylor—she’s a dog lover after all, lol, and she repeatedly shows she has a big heart—there was one point early on where I felt she was angry at JP without a good reason, but upon reflection, this is where I think having read (or not read) book 1 comes into play: Taylor is predisposed to think poorly of JP because she knows about his past with Théo through her friendship with Théo’s wife, Lacey, and Théo and JP’s aunt, Everly. Without book 1’s background, though, I liked JP right from the start. He admits that he’s made mistakes, but he’s trying hard to become a better person, which includes improving his impulse control. And he ends up needing to work VERY hard to control his impulses around Taylor. For instance, though there’s some instalust in the beginning, much to his dismay, he gets friend zoned for a while. Plus there’s a lot of vulnerability to JP that I found appealing as he tries to live up to big brother Theo’s standard, and he wants very much to make his family, particularly his grandfather, proud.
There was a lot of emotion here as both Taylor and JP deal with family issues, and I thought the author handled Taylor’s reactions to those issues, and to her mom, specifically, in a thoughtful and sensitive way. Speaking of family, of course, both Taylor and JP make some mistakes along the way, and there was a large cast of secondary characters consisting of both family and friends adding humor, lending support, and kicking a little a$$ when needed. Everly was a particular favorite, so I’m happy it looks like she’s going to get her own story next.
Plenty of interesting characters with complex relationships, plus a nice blend of humor, heat and heartbreak added up to an engaging, enjoyable read for me. 5 stars
B2B Kelly
JP is truly a bad boy because he stole my heart!!!! Have you read the first book in the series yet? We met both JP and Taylor in Play to Win and while each book can be read as a standalone I would suggest reading the prior book so you can meet both JP and Taylor and see what has been going on with their lives and have brought them to where they are today and it would also give you some background on a pretty big scene that happens at JP’s brother Théo’s wedding. But as I said previously it can totally be read as a standalone if that is what you wish to do.
I really enjoyed JP and Taylor together. They each had some issues they were going through, Taylor’s issues were new and she had some trouble adjusting to the changes going on in her life where as JP’s issues were the same as they had been for a while, he was the black sheep of the family, the screw-up the one that always acted before he thought. But JP was trying to change all of that and honestly no one was seeing it and that pissed me off. Yes he made mistakes but seriously are you going to make him pay for them for the rest of his life especially since the one everyone likes to harp on was probably for the best anyway. Yes, he slept with his brothers girlfriend but she told him they were broken up and if she could do that with her boyfriends brother she can do that with anyone so why is the guy still paying for it years later??????
This was a great addition to the series, I really enjoyed the chemistry between Taylor and JP as well as their friendship. Byron was the best dog ever! If you enjoy sports romances especially hockey romances I urge you to grab a copy of this book I am sure you will enjoy it as much as I did.
Happy Reading!!!
JP Wynn has some big shoes to fill and he sure puts a lot of pressure on himself to be good or better than he has been before. Living and playing as part of the Hockey good family of the Wynn’s is anything but easy. Trying to please everyone is truly exhausting but in time JP realizes that he needs to give himself some room to be him and not what he thinks everyone expects him to be.
Taylor is a hopeless romantic that is dreaming about love someday. She is working towards starting her career and trying to get herself stable and out of her parents home. Problem is she loves their home on the beach and isn’t in a hurry to move out. When she finds herself the object of attention from one hot hockey player, she decides to let herself live a little. She surely wasn’t expecting it to be more than a one or two night thing.
Can JP find himself and realize the feeling he has the for the beautiful woman or will he push her away with all his crazy antics? Will Taylor learn to accept the changes in her life and work for the love she thinks she could have with JP?
Another great addition to the Wynn Series.

4.5 Star Review of In It To Win It (Wynn Hockey #2) by Kelly Jamieson
In It To Win is the second in the latest series from Kelly Jamieson, Wynn Hockey. This is JP Wynn and Taylor Heart’s story and I really enjoyed it. JP plays lives to play hockey although his antics both on and off the ice have gotten him in to more hot water that he would and his family would like.
The family dynamics of the Wynn family had my head spinning, dysfunctional is not a strong enough word to describe this family.
JP has demons but he is determined to lose the black sheep of the family and prove himself to his family, particularly his brother Theo. However at Theo’s wedding he gets up close and personal with bridesmaid Taylor which causes more complications than he bargained for.
Having read about Taylor and JP in the previous book I was interested to see how this new relationship they find themselves in would pan out and I was not disappointed.
I really love JP, there is more to him that meets the eye and it was great to see him show the vulnerability that lies beneath the surface. In my opinion Taylor is the perfect woman for him. The chemistry between them simply smoulders. Will they both realize the potential their relationship has or run before it has a chance to flourish?
I enjoy Kelly Jamieson’s style of writing, her characters are strong and yet she shows that they can be human and not the “perfect” hero or heroine and this makes for a realistic and enjoyable read.
Kelly Jamieson is one of my go-to authors for hockey romance and I was so thrilled that she was starting a new series. I adored the first book in the Wynn Hockey series, and this one was just as great. Although this could be read as a standalone, I think it would be helpful to have read the first book. JP was painted as a bit of a selfish jerk through most of the first book so you know that this was going to be a redemption story, which isn’t always easy to pull off. However, I ultimately found it really easy to fall for JP and how he acted towards and treated Taylor.
My one complaint with this series is that I have a hard time keeping all the members of the Wynn family straight due to the sheer number of them and their “modern family” dynamic. 🙂
*Advance copy provided by NetGalley. All opinions are my own.*
What’s better than a bad boy that is secretly a good guy? JP is such a likable guy that it is totally understandable why Taylor can’t help herself. Neither thought they were looking for anything serious, but they couldn’t deny their chemistry or how well the fit together. The story was a good one. It had it’s laughable moments, but also had enough depth in the characters to make them likable. This was my first book by this author and it makes me want to read others. While part of a series, I didn’t feel like I missed anything critical by starting with this one. I am curious about some of the other characters so will look for more. I received a copy of this book from NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Kelly Jamieson lights the lamp with IN IT TO WIN IT (Wynn Hockey #2). This is JP Wynn’s and Taylor Hart’s story. The novel starts out at JP’s brother Theo’s wedding to Lacey; JP is the best man, and Taylor is a bridesmaid. This contemporary sports romance is suitable for adult readers.
I adored this story. JP was not my favorite person in book one, but as we find out all the details of what happened with Theo’s ex, he became a likable character. Taylor is a fun heroine. I like that these two hooked up. The two have incredible chemistry. The drama with Manny added to the story. I enjoyed how JP and Taylor both grew in this novel. I love that JP wants to become a better person for Taylor. They have some misunderstanding, and both learned from their mistakes. I love that JP takes Taylor’s Golden retriever, Byron, in. I appreciate that Byron has played a role in both books one and two.
Kelly Jamieson is doing a great job with this series. The Wynn family has interesting drama. I enjoyed the plot of this story. My heart went out to Taylor and all the changes she faced. If you haven’t read book one, PLAY TO WIN, I suggest reading it prior to this story. I recommend this series to people who enjoy contemporary sports romances. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
Kelly Jamieson broke my heart when she decided to end the Aces Hockey Series but she glued the pieces back together with the Wynn Hockey Series. In It To Win It is the second book in the Wynn Hockey Series and let me tell you….my heart has healed! Thank Kelly! It is hot outside go grab a cold lemonade and let’s chat about this HOT book…In It To Win It!
First, let’s talk about this cover! It is smoking HOT but the bad thing is that I’m not certain that I can find a real hockey player who looks like this! I mean, have you seen them? They appear to be barely in their 20’s and well, I will keep looking and dreaming.
Jean Paul (JP) is the son of Matthew Wynn (owner of the Long Beach Golden Eagles) and the grandson of Bob Wynn (owner of the California Condors). He currently plays for the Long Beach Golden Eagles who is coached by his uncle Mark Wynn. Easy, right? I had a hard time keeping up but Kelly was nice enough to outline The Wynn Dynasty at the beginning of the book so that people like me, with deficits in short term memory, could keep up. Where was I? Oh, JP’s family is full of drama and JP tends to be right in the middle of his own drama but he is determined to fix that beginning at his brother’s wedding. It was at the wedding that he met a beautiful Speech Language Pathologist (what??? That’s me!! I am a SLP!) named Taylor who is smart, sweet, and genuine or so the thought.
Why is it that the one Wynn that Taylor is supposed to hate is the one she is ready to lose her panties over? Why is he so sweet and supportive when her world falls apart? Why does her dog have to love him? JP Wynn is not what people think. He is so much more but can Taylor make JP believe that?
Number 1 – Kelly Jamieson has written a book where the main female is a Speech Langauge Pathologist!! Number 2 – She has done her research and actually knows that SLPs do! Extra points and kudos for those 2! Seriously, I can’t say enough about this book or this series. Kelly’s characters are never just surface level. They are deeply flawed individuals who are looking for healing. My rating for Kelly Jamieson’s In It To Win It….5 out of 5 propellers.
Hockey meets Hope
When Jp Wynn, the undisputed bad boy of Hockey sets his sights on Taylor, it should be all fun and innuendos between them- since they’ve both sworn off relationships…
But there is something between them, something that keeps drawing them back to one another, along with the fact that they share mutual friends.
Giving in to temptation leads to a host of feelings neither saw coming. What they do with all these swirling emotions, with their lives already in chaos?
‘In It To Win It’ – a sports romance, with a heavy dose of feels, dirty talking sweetheart of a man, and plenty of inside their head drama to get in the way…
Perfect amounts of sass, heat, humor, and heart layered in a twisty storyline. One that kept me swiping pages wanting to know more about Jp, Taylor as well as the secondary characters in their fast-paced world.
An electrified Hockey Romance
4
JP and Taylor have explosive chemistry that I loved watching them fight. It’s a slow burn but when they finally give in, their relationship is hot!
I enjoyed watching both characters grow and allowing the emotions to be pulled right from the pages.
I would recommend this book.
Hockey player, Enemies to Lovers, dog lover
IN IT TO WIN IT is the second instalment in Kelly Jamieson’s contemporary, adult WYNN HOCKEY erotic, romance hockey series focusing on the Wynn family hockey dynasty, owners and operators of the NHL’s California Condors, and the Long Beach Golden Eagles. This is twenty-six year old, Long Beach Golden Eagles, professional hockey player Jean Paul ‘JP’ Wynn, and twenty-four year old speech pathologist Taylor Hart’s story line. IN IT TO WIN IT can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary.
Told from dual first person perspectives (JP and Taylor) IN IT TO WIN IT follows the acrimonious relationship between twenty six year old, Long Beach Golden Eagles professional hockey player Jean Paul ‘JP’ Wynn, and twenty-four year old speech pathologist Taylor Hart. JP’s brother Theo married his sweetheart Lacey Olson but a one-night stand between JP and Taylor Hart resulted in a dance floor brawl between JP and Taylor’s former beau, a brawl that left JP struggling to understand what went wrong and why. Believing he once again found himself in a relationship with a woman already spoken for, JP goes on the defensive when Taylor refuses to admit what happened or why. Weeks to months will pass where JP and Taylor will cross paths, paths that will soon lead to a second chance at romance and love. What ensues is the building relationship between Taylor and JP, and the potential fall-out when Taylor reveals the truth about the night where everything went all to h*ll.
JP Wynn struggles with both his on and off ice persona; a reputation as a man-whore who ‘stole’ his brother’s girlfriend, recent events place JP back in the dog house with his family, his teammates and the woman with whom he had hoped to see again. Taylor Hart’s life is about to spiral out of control but her on-again, off-again friendship slash relationship with JP Wynn is threatened by the secrets she keeps hidden to herself. When a former boyfriend discovers the relationship between JP and Taylor, JP finds himself targeted for sins of the past.
The relationship between JP and Taylor is one of immediate attraction but JP’s reputation precedes his introduction to our story line heroine. Taylor battles between head and heart as she struggles to forget about the man with whom she will fall in love. The $ex scenes are intimate, passionate and intense, without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
We are once again, reintroduced to the large extended and slightly dysfunction Wynn family including Theo and Lacey;Grandpa Bob Wynn, and coach /uncle Mark Wynn.
IN IT TO WIN IT is a story of family, secrets, lies and revelations. The premise is engaging and captivating; the characters are charismatic and colorful; the romance is seductive but Taylor’s puzzling actions hurt our hero more than once but several times over.
Seductive Yet Sweet! This story is so full of fun, drama, love, family, personal growth and forgiveness. After reading the first story in this series I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this story about JP Wynn. And it definitely did not disappoint. I had a fantastic time reading about JP and Taylor. Their story pulled me in from the beginning and held my attention through all the twists and turns.
JP has been having a hard time ever since he dated his brother Theo’s girlfriend. Seen as the bad boy by his family, he is trying to put his past behind him and make better choices with his life. JP meets Taylor, at Theo’s rehearsal dinner. So attracted to each other they hook up that night and again during the wedding reception for the hottest sex of their lives. But when he is taken by surprise, when another hockey player Manny, jumps him at his brother’s wedding reception, and accuses him of stealing his girlfriend. JP can’t believe that again he looks like the bad boy in the eyes of his family.
Taylor has had it with hockey players. After being in a relationship with Manny and then ghosted by him after he is traded, then watching JP. And Manny get in a fight at the reception, she decides to find romance elsewhere. But with the sizzling chemistry between her and JP, as well as being best friends with JP’s sister-in-law, Taylor just can’t seem to keep away from him.
But JP has his sights set on Taylor for the win. And you don’t want to miss what he is all willing to do, to stay close. I love getting to know more about this crazy and close Wynn family and so will you.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
4 Stars
In It To Win It, is the second title in the Wynn Hockey series, this time featuring JP and Taylor.
The Wynn Family has a complicated dynamic and their relationships and interactions are fraught with drama.
JP Wynn is an impulsive, cocky and competitive bad boy, with a heart of gold. He’s quite vulnerable, and overly critical of himself, yet he has a compassionate, caring and sweet side. He’s not perfect, and is quite aware of his faults.
I had mixed feelings in regard to Taylor. In some ways she’s very mature for her age, and in other’s she’s immature, her lack of ability to communicate at times frustrated me a bit.
The chemistry between this pair is undeniable, and their love scenes are not only intense but passionate, and full of heat and steam.
If you love a hockey romance with some family drama thrown in check out the Wynn Hockey series.
I’ve read quite a few of Kelly Jamieson’s books, liked some more than others, but this one was definitely in the did not like category. I really tried to like JP and Taylor’s story, but I couldn’t connect with them at all. Not sure if it was their early in encounters at the wedding, or the fact that Taylor’s lame reasoning for not wanting to connect with JP after the fight during the wedding, I just couldn’t seem to like anything about this couple. In my opinion, the writing lacked any kind of excitement, which is difficult to delve into a book and keep your interest. I love hockey, and this author is really good at guiding the reader through the ins and outs of the game, but you need good characters to go along with it. Definitely better books from this author out there, this one is a pass for me.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of this book.
This book is #2, in the Wynn Hockey series. This book can be read as a standalone novel. For reader understanding, and to avoid spoilers, I recommend reading this series in order.
Jean Paul AKA “JP” is instantly attracted to Taylor. She is everything he can think of that he wants in a woman. Only she also thinks the worst of him. Then something happens at his brother’s wedding that changes it all.
Taylor has never found such a bad boy this charming and sexy. Their time together makes her think he has a better side to him. Something no one sees. Should she try to understand men or hockey players?
This book was just BAM! right from the start so intense, hot, and really good. It sets your heart pumping and then just all heat and action. I found it be quite the rush. These characters are also amazing. Deeper than they seem on the surface and sexier than most this author has brought to the table.
***This ARC copy was given by Netgalley and its publishers, in exchange for an honest review.
The guy that everyone loves to hate proves he’s even more of a screwup when it comes to love. In It to Win It should be called attack of the romance disaster. JP and Taylor leave chaos in their wake, everytime they cross paths. Jamieson thrusts two accident prone hearts in the middle of a nuclear, attraction and drama ensues. Can the king and queen of heartache, be a match made in heaven? Taylor and JP keep the senses at full alert with their overexcitable antics. There’s never a dull moment with this unpredictable duo.
I enjoyed JP and Taylor’s story. JP was a charming, lovable, rascal with a big propensity for getting in trouble (even when trying to avoid it). Taylor, I did like but I admit to being quite frustrated with her a few times throughout the book. Still, I very much approved of these two as a couple. I thought the story line was fun and offered a great blend of drama, tension, turmoil, humor, heat and heart.
