Manny broke my heart when he got traded to another team and left without even a goodbye.

But after the way everything went down, I want nothing to do with any of them.
Easier said than done. Especially when Lacey’s new brother-in-law is always around. . . .
And I keep thinking about the wedding night, when we snuck away to his room for the best sex of my life.

JP has a hard time forgiving himself for his mistakes. Meeting Taylor at his brother’s wedding has a huge impact on his emotions, not to mention the sexual attraction. Scared of the intensity of their attraction,Taylor backs off from seeing JP, who thinks and then finds out after the wedding she’s seeing someone else. Neither trust in love and definitely convince themselves it doesn’t work for them, but a dog brings them together again and the heat and heart may change their mind about love. I’m a big fan of hockey romance and this one, eventhough it was very long and complicated, was still a good one. A free copy from Netgalley for an honest review.
“Not to brag, but I don’t even need alcohol to make bad decisions.”
This story was my introduction to Kelly Jamieson. Yes, it was the cover that got my attention and I decided to give her a chance. Though it’s the second in the Wynn Hockey series I read it as a standalone. After meeting so many amazing support characters I can see how a whole series could evolve.
JP is a good guy that keeps making bad decisions that follow him. It’s a good thing that fighting in hockey is accepted, but it’s not always the best way to rid yourself of frustration since penalties are often a result of impulsive actions, right? Nor is hurting his family high on his list of proud moments. He’s got a lot to make up for and he’s determined to get a handle on his emotions and make better choices.
Taylor isn’t looking for another hot hockey player at her best friend’s wedding, but that’s what she finds in JP. Resisting his charms is impossible and she later ends up wishing she had after her ex shows up and makes a scene. She tries to avoid him, but that seems to be impossible as well since her bestie is married to his brother.
And did I mention Byron? I think I love him most of all. Wait till you meet him! I really enjoyed this sweet story full of misunderstandings and mishaps that kept me smiling. I also enjoyed the hockey details and the Wynn family drama. “Blood may be thicker than water, but it’s not thicker than hockey.”
Terrific sports romance
This book had a lot of heart. Generally the heroine has a aa bit more angst than the Hero, but in this one the Hero had the lions share. He was also the more likeable character. That isn’t to say that the heroine was unlikeable, buy I thought the Hero, JP Wynn the Hockey Star from a Hockey dynasty was a better character. Taylor, the speech therapist is a good person, but some of her reasons for doing things were silly.
The two meet at the wedding rehearsal of JP’s brother, Theo to Taylor’s friend Lacey. Both are in the wedding and are attracted to each other and they end up sleeping together that evening and again the following day. JP has some issues with his family due to the fact that his brother Théo haas always been smarter than him and held up to him as the perfect son. He has always felt that he can’t live up to the perfect standard that Théo sets, then a year ago. His family is now all angry with him for stealing Theo’s former girlfriend Emma (the one prior to Lacey). They all think it was awful thing for a brother to do.
Taylor had been dating a Hockey player named Manny, on the team Théo coaches until Manny got traded and ghosted her. However Manny shows up at the wedding and Taylor makes him Jealous of JP. No more spoilers, but JP works very hard throughout the story to better himself and though he doesn’t always do the right thing, he is a great guy. The romance is beyond steamy. The side characters are funny and entertaining. I really enjoyed the journey and the. Fact that JP was willing to do all sorts of out of the box things for a manly hockey player in order to try to work on himself, reduce stress and get in touch with his emotions. Great story.
I like that the author jumped right into JP’s story. He was not well liked in book 1 since he stole his brothers girlfriend. We did find out a few truths about that at the end of Theo and Lacey’s book that didn’t paint JP as bad as you are lead to believe. In fact, we learn a lot about JP in this book that shows there is always more that meets the eye. I like that we learn that JP is actually a really great guy who just doesn’t always make the right choice.
Taylor is a girl who believes in love even if she has never experienced it herself. She isn’t afraid to put herself out there to find it. She and JP start off on the wrong foot but the undeniable attraction is persistent and it takes a bit for them to find their footing. There is a bit of push and pull in the first half of the book but we do learn a lot about both these characters during this time.
It’s not necessary to read book 1 first, however we do get a lot of Theo and Lacey in this book. We also get to see that spark for our next couple in book 3. I really like Everly and Wyatt sounds pretty intriguing.
I loved JP and while yes, he was a bad boy, how much was an act to cover what he felt deep inside? He just played up to everyone’s expectations, however he did steal his brother’s gf, but they should be thanking him, not throwing it in his face, and Theo got his true love in the 1st book. Maybe that’s why I liked JP so much, he was under appreciated! A champion with a hot temper and good in his heart.
Taylor was seriously having a rough time in all aspects of her life and wanted to cut loose. Her and JP had that chemistry in spades and it was hot! They also talked, kept a few secrets but understood each other when it counted. I will admit to liking JP’s character more than Taylor’s. She wasn’t as goody two shoes as everyone thought, imo, and played a part in some of the turmoils without really owning up to them when she should have.
Now the Wynn family can either help or hinder a cause, and all throughout these two got all that and more lol. My emotions went right along with all the events and I loved the quirky fur baby, who added some hilarity of his own.
A good, lighter read for me.
I enjoyed an advance reader’s copy thru Netgalley and giving my opinions voluntarily.
I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads, so here is my review.
We met JP in the first book as he is the brother Theo and the same one who stole his brother’s girlfriend. But to JP’s credit, the girlfriend told JP she and Theo were broken up. But JP knew in the back of his mind he should have stayed away from her but he didn’t. So now he is the bad boy Wynn. The hockey family royalty and he is humiliated every time the family gets together.
He is trying to turn his life around but while at his brother’s wedding rehearsal, he sees a woman he wants to get closer to and spend some time with.
Taylor knows that JP Wynn is known for his fighting on the ice. She knows he is a bad boy but she finds him funny, a joy to be around and very sexy. He invites her up to his room for the night, it is left up to her. But what harm can one hook up do? She probably won’t see him after the wedding anyway.
Neither JP nor Taylor has that kind of luck when they are dancing at the reception and JP is jumped by Taylor’s ex. Taylor gets mad and leaves both men bleeding. JP is angry she left because he didn’t do anything and he has to find out why she left but she will not see him.
Taylor doesn’t want to date a man with anger issue and that leaves JP out. But she can’t help her feelings for him. And after JP offers to keep her dog, he is beginning to see that he might want more with her.
Can Taylor and JP make a relationship work? Will his anger issues be the end before they really begin a relationship? Will his anger continue to control his time on the ice?
I have come to love a great hockey story and the Wynn Hockey series is one I really enjoy. I recommend this series if you love a great story with a bad boy with a big heart. I hope you love it too.

The second book about the Winn family of hockey and you have the couple from the last book getting married at the beginning. J.P. the brother is attracted to Taylor and the night before the wedding they hook up and after the wedding during the dancing, she sees her ex from the first book another hockey player who now plays in Nashville. He had and has been ghosting her after he got traded when she thought that he would be staying in touch. While dancing with JP she makes eye contact with the ex-but she and JP go back upstairs to the hotel. When coming back down and going back to dancing she is shocked when her ex-starts a fight with JP. She is also mad at JP for what I could not figure out because he was just protecting himself. Now for the rest of the story, he is trying to improve himself by not doing things that are self-destructive. He even starts to take up yoga as a joke at first but ends up sticking with it. He is still attracted to Taylor but he has to let her come to her own way of seeing him. She is having her own set of problems with her parents divorcing, selling the home she grew up in, and needing to find a home for her dog and to come to grips with her feelings about athletes, especially JP who she is finding harder and harder to stay away from. See what happens in this good story. I received this book from Netgalley.com I gave it 4 stars. Follow us at http://www.1rad-readerreviews.com
The book is good, nice characters, well written….the problem….the only plot is the Wynn family problems and some issues that each character has as individuals, so you need to continue reading the books to know what is actually happening. I liked JP, he is trying hard to be a better person and is cool doing it. I liked that Taylor has her career which is really cool and not a PR or screw up (like a lot of the Hockey books). At the end of the book nothing is solved. The characters have nice chemistry, the sex scenes were not wonderful….. It’s a nice 4 stars to have a nice time

In It to Win It was the second book in the Wynn Hockey series by Kelly Jamieson. Although it could be read as a stand-alone, I recommend reading the series in order for maximum enjoyment.
Jean Paul “JP” Wynn was the younger brother to Theo’, book one, Play to Win. He was the controversial one of the family. Oh wait…they are all controversial, as it’s a crazy family. But he allegedly stole his brother’s girlfriend, had temper problems on the ice and made poor decisions off the ice. At least that’s the picture that was painted.
Taylor Hart. Taylor was Lacy’s friend, book one, who was involved with one of Theo’s teammates until he was traded. She had her heart broken and was starting new.
In It to Win It started where For the Win ended – with a cliff hanger and one of JP’s fights. It didn’t exactly play out like I expected, but it was an explosive beginning. Jamieson then took us through JP and Taylor’s lives – separately, as we were getting to know them. They each had learning moments, which brought some drama into the plot.
As to the characters, I loved JP. He was intense behind his bad boy image and I loved his loyalty. In regards to Taylor, she wasn’t my favorite character. She was a little too weak. She had potential but I wanted a little more backbone and substance. Now for Byron, he was awesome! And who could blame him about the Christmas incident – it was a tree!
The “crazy” family dynamics were still present but I learned more from the first book so other than Everly and Harrison, JP’s same age aunt and uncle, the rest of the characters were more in the backdrop. I loved getting to know Everly and Harrison more and can’t wait to dive into their stories.
All in all, it was well written, well developed, humorous and a good addition to the series. Everly and Wyatt are up next in Win Big and I can’t wait!
I read this one immediately following the first in the series as I was really curious about JP!
JP was a troubled soul as well as a troublemaker on the ice. He didn’t seem to ever make good decisions, mostly I think because he kept on second-guessing himself. He always felt like he wasn’t any good because his older brother, Theo, was bright and successful after an interrupted hockey career. He did get a bit tiresome at times, always whining about being a disappointment.to others.
Taylor’s doing well, she’s also a bit insecure about her feelings but manages — with JP’s help, no less! — to overcome (mostly) a big family upset. Her relationship with her dog is precious.
The hockey is well written, you can feel you’re on the ice or in the arena with the team and the others in their lives. I do wish that more was explained about the issues between the grandfather and his sons, it’s been danced around in both books but never in any detail. I hope that eventually it will be.
I’m looking forward to the rest of the books in the series. I received a copy from NetGalley for an honest review.
I enjoy reading everything Kelly Jamieson writes, but I especially love her stories about hot hockey players. She does a wonderful job writing this entertaining and sexy story about two people who are attracted to each other, but circumstances keep getting in the way.
JP Wynn is a charming, sweet guy with a bad boy edge. He is a professional hockey player and comes from a hockey family dynasty. JP and Taylor meet at JP’s brother’s wedding. They get along great and the sparks fly between them but they always seem to have some miscommunication. They keep bumping into each other and try to ignore all the chemistry flowing between them, but each time they meet, it gets a little harder to ignore their feelings.
Even though JP has many great qualities, he has a difficult time living up to his family’s expectations. He regrets many of the impulsive mistakes he has made in the past. He is a fun loving bad boy with a great sense of humor. I liked both JP and Taylor and I also loved the dynamics flowing between them. They have incredible chemistry together and share a lot of scorching looks. This is the second book in the Wynn hockey series. I not only enjoyed the two main characters in this story, but there are also many entertaining secondary characters as well. This is another great story by Kelly Jamieson.
3.5 rounded up.
I liked the basics of the story. The side characters are great and can see how their stories would be good as well.
JP always seemed to find trouble on and off the ice. His little mini scandals label him as the bad boy so he feels he might as well try to live up to the name. I got tired of his internal monologue of how he’s upset that he feels like he’s a disappointment to everyone even though he’s trying to do the right thing and there are noble reasons behind his actions that no one knows about. He becomes too whiny/poor me/martyr for me to enjoy him much anymore. Taylor is okay. Her inner struggles are fighting her feelings and not wanting to believe in love anymore.
I was happy that the hockey was well written. It’s so annoying when a sports author is not knowledgable of the sport they are featuring. It takes me out of the story – if I keep reading it at all. Kelly’s hockey acumen is much appreciated.
However, one part of her writing style that really started to grate on my nerves was the overuse of “. . .”. I love me a good “…” to trail off sentences and give dramatic pauses but too much is. . . too much. Especially when no pause is really needed. It really started standing out to me about halfway through, at about the same time I was getting tired of JP, it was like a neon light. When it was popping up 3 and 4 times on a page I was dying.
But overall I liked the story and her writing enough that I will most likely read the side characters’ stories in the series of the Wynn family hockey dynasty as well.
(I received this complementary copy from NetGalley)
I enjoyed this book despite jumping into the series mid-stream. There are a lot of characters with all of JP’s extended family but I was still able to focus on JP’s story. As much as I enjoyed this book I wasn’t really tempted to go find the others in this series. Maybe because I already know how their stories end?
I love hockey romance, and even though this book didn’t have as much hockey in it as some of Kelly Jamieson’s other series I loved the hockey “world” she has created with the Wynn family. I loved the characters in this hockey dynasty. I enjoyed the way this story is building on the relationships within this family. I loved JP the bad boy, the playboy, and screwup only to find out he is really the good guy, the caretaker, and protector. I loved the angst in JP and Taylor’s relationship, developing feelings and still not being sure. These first two books have been a great start to what I hope is a long long series.
I know this is only the second book of the series but this is hands down my favorite of Ms. Jamieson’s. I normally like a bit more angst in my stories but the story was perfect for JP and Taylor. While JP was the piranha in the first book, he redeems himself quickly. Misunderstood, he takes a lot of flack from his family and struggles with the pressures of being a Wynn. Taylor has to deal with her own issues when she is blindsided by a familial incident. These two are so good together and Byron definitely steals the show. There are so layers to the Wynn family and so much possibilities. I cannot wait to see the rest of the stories unfold.

This is such a fun read. Bad boy hockey player JP Wynn finds himself in even more trouble when he hooks up with a bridesmaid at his brother’s wedding. Third generation hockey royalty, JP just can’t seem to do anything right and he’s once again in the doghouse with his famous family. As he tries to fix his reputation, he can’t seem to avoid Taylor, the bridesmaid hook-up. JP is a hot mess, but Taylor brings out the best in him and he soon finds himself wanting more than a hook-up.
I’m really enjoying this series. These books take a fresh approach to hockey romance and the result is a little bit Dallas on Ice – with a good sense of humour. The women in these stories are more interesting than some of Jamieson’s recent characters and the dysfunctional Wynn family is highly entertaining. Like the last book, Taylor brings a good dose of real life to JP’s first world problems. The recent graduate is struggling to live on her own and she can’t find a landlord who allows pets. Her life puts the Wynn family squabbles in perspective. I love the sense of play in this story – despite all his best intentions, JP just seems to invite chaos and catastrophe.
There’s a little more actual hockey in this book than the first one but the focus remains on the characters and the Wynn family. There are a few steamy scenes and great chemistry between Taylor and JP. I’m enjoying watching the relationships between the Wynns and their partners develop across the books and I’m already excited for the next books in the series.

This is the second book in the series, and I really think that you should read them in order. The Wynn family is big, complicated, and all about hockey! Understanding the family dynamics will help with some of the snark, and the politics!
JP is a good guy who has a quick temper on and off the ice. He made a big mistake when he started seeing his brother’s girlfriend, Emma, although she had said they were over at the time. In his head he is still paying for that mistake, even though his brother has now moved on, and in fac,t is marrying Lacey at the beginning of this book. He is now determined to be better, and to keep his temper under control from now on – and as the new season is about to start, that is definitely his plan. He has been training really hard for pre-season and is in a good place mentally. So when everything transpires at the wedding, he just cannot believe it all overturned so quickly.
Taylor behaved out of character at the wedding, but sees something in JP which deep down she thinks might be worth fighting for, more than just amazing chemistry. The road is certainly not smooth, but getting to know him better thanks to him taking in her much loved dog, does give them both an excuse to spend time together. I thought that the side story of her parents and why they split up after so long together was good at pushing the boundaries, and giving her just as much angst as JP in her personal life.
I really enjoyed reading about how JP and Taylor got to know each other, repair the damage to each other’s hearts, and come to realise the faults and triggers which needed addressing. We also got to spend plenty of time with other members of the Wynn clan who are ripe for finding their happily ever afters and look forward to more hockey-fueled romance from them. Thank you, Kelly Jamieson, for another excellent installment.

I have come to love a great hockey story and the Wynn Hockey series is one I really enjoy. I recommend this series if you love a great story with a bad boy with a big heart. I hope you love it too.

M/F Sports Romance
JP is the brother that we met in book one who doesn’t always make the best decisions. And even though he knew he probably shouldn’t go after his brother’s girlfriend, despite her telling him that she was no longer with said brother, JP did and it almost broke his relationship with his family.
JP is trying to fix his reputation both on and off the ice. He knows that his emotions can get the better of him and he’s trying very hard to work on being less emotional. When he meets Taylor, he knows that she might not be the best choice, but he can’t help his attraction. However, when he’s laid flat out on the floor at his brother’s wedding, JP knows that something is off and Taylor is off limits.
Throughout this book, we see JP change his ability to control the emotions that fly through him both on and off the ice. There is still an underlying issue with his family and the two hockey teams, but JP and his brother have come to a good place.
While this was a sweet story about finding your own way, it wasn’t too mushy in the romance department. Taylor and JP have to decide if their differences and issues can be overcome in order to truly pursue a relationship.

This was a sexy sports romance. I didn’t read the previous book in the series and that might have changed my perspective on the book a bit. JP is a hockey player and he is kind of in a bad place with his family, and working on redeeming himself. I liked that he was very sweet to Taylor and tried to help her.
Another hot Wynn (see what I did there?) From Kelly Jamieson and the Wynn Hockey series.
In It to Win It is book two and picks up the story of JP and Taylor. JP is a screw up, or at least he thinks he is. It’s actually pretty painful to read.
Taylor is stubborn and afraid after a family situation shakes her foundation.
Together they help each other do better and learn to love each other, in spite of themselves.
I loved this sweet story, didnt hurt that it was smoking hot too. Plus there’s a dog. A dog is always equals entertaining reading!
If you like hockey romances. Or just like romance, give Kelly Jamieson’s Wynn Hockey series a chance. Pretty sure you’ll enjoy reading about how these Wynn men mess things up.

Just an ok. book for me.
I liked JP, he was a bit of a bad boy and had some major mess up’s, but he was working hard to stay on the straight and narrow and stay out of trouble.
Taylor was a terrific, loving girl, just JP’s type. But she had a tight hold on her emotions and she had had a relationship with a hockey player before and was not looking for another. The two of them had a brief encounter and that was all, he’d messed up again and being friends worked better for them both, but for how long?
In to Win it, was a fair enough story, but I found the chemistry between JP and Taylor to be a little weak. JP was a very strong character but I didn’t feel his characteristics were used to there fullest and Taylor seemed a little lacklustre, not much going on there. Loved Byron though, he got into a few tight squeezes, great stuff.
Yeah! the story is worth a look at, just not one of my favourites.
Great characters. Great story. Thank you.
