Book seven of the Fire & Vice series. All books are standalone and can be read in any order. Guaranteed HEA, NO cheating, NO cliffhanger. Just hot alpha male who knows what he wants! Sizzling dark romance. Read at your own risk!more
Let me say first that Lucy’s character appealed to me greatly. She had a zest for life that made me smile. Mack is a darker character who didn’t have a whole lot to be happy about until he met Lucy. I like my male characters to be dominant with a touch of obsessive and possessive. I can safely say that Mack had those qualities. And lets not forget about the side characters who enhanced this story but in no way overshadowed the main couple. You get interesting glimpses into the lives of other characters from the Fire and Vice series which in my opinion would only entice you to go back to the beginning to catch up on their lives. Now I don’t want to give the wrong impression of this book. It isn’t all rainbows and sunshine. Awful things can happen to good people, sometimes bad wins, but love can overcome so many obstacles. This book made me smile, laugh a couple of times, get angry, and be a little sad. I am not the most eloquent reviewer but I just wanted to share how much I enjoyed reading this book. I sincerely hope I have given you the incentive to open this one up.
Mack Hudson is a hard emotionally scarred man that isn’t afraid to get his hands dirty when it comes to catching bond jumpers or taking someone out. His past has left him jaded and he has no problem using a woman for sex and then showing her to the door. That is until he crosses paths with Lucy. One kiss from a naive virgin has left him haunted. Lucy comes from a life where she is sheltered from the outside world. She is engaged to a man from home, but she has a year to go out and experience the real world. She has been secretly dreaming of the man who kissed her to prove a point several months ago. Mack and Lucy’s love story is filled with dominance, submission, defiance, vengeance, and the desire for freedom. Nikita Slater has you guessing how it will all turn out until the very end.
I have needed Mack and Lucy’s story and Nikita Slater did not disappoint me. This is a story that twisted my heart, left me breathless and at times made me cry.
The character development was really solid, especially for Lucy. I could tell that the author spent time researching the Amish culture and put significant work into this book. I loved the tension between Mack and Lucy; it sold me on the relationship since it wasn’t all heart and roses. Nikita Slater always delivers on creating strong characters. Furthermore, she keeps up the character development for secondary characters, whether it’s adding to characters we’ve seen before in this series or new additions. I enjoyed that while she focused on Mack and Lucy she integrated others into the book as well.
The world building continues to be superb. The people and world were so real that I become absolutely captivated by the book. The storyline itself was thorough and very engaging. Sometimes with series as each book goes along, I’ll find that the stories end up repeating themselves. This author avoids that issue and keeps everything fresh. I can’t wait to see the next in the series!
5 Stars for a captivating read with strong characters!
I love Nikita Slater and I love this book. Mack is one of my favourite book boyfriends. Highly recommend!
I dont know what to say In his sights will leave you wanting more. I was laughing stun and couldnt get enough. must read
Wow this book was hot. I loved the characters Mack and Lucy. I couldn’t put this book down. Loved it. Will definitely be reading more from this author. Great storyline!!!
I really enjoyed this book. Lucy had me laughing many times! It took a little while for Mack to grow on me, he was pretty mean but awesome too. I will definitely be reading the other books in this series soon
I have read all of the previous books in this series and was interested to see how Mack and Lucy’s story would play out. Nikita Slater definitely did not disappoint. Being from an Amish background, Lucy is so innocent and curious about other people and the rest of the world. Mack, on the other hand, is a cynic who struggles to let people in. They had to overcome a lot of difficulties before they could establish a functional relationship. I really loved these two characters. They were imperfect people with flaws that made them even more endearing. l can’t wait to read Nic and Maria’s story next.
Oh my all that’s holy five perfection stars!
In His Sights focuses on Mack & Lucy did not disappoint. Mack was OTT alphatastic and oh so possessive of Lucy, however, his intensity and obsessiveness had me swoooooooning all the way through. Because it was exactly what Lucy needed to have!
Lucy and Mack’s love becomes a page turner because you can’t help but admire the plot and character depth! From secondary characters to the many unexpected surprises, In His Sights was a five star exceptionally well written by Nikita.
You could 100% read this as a standalone, however, I would recommend the series. You won’t want to miss all the alphas and prior to Mack and as you read, Nikita manages to brilliantly set up for the next in the series.
