This book was fantastic and the first book in a new series for Ava omg you need to read this book and come fall in love with all the character’s except Felicia bye bye Felicia.
This story is about 2 best friend’s Jordan and Xia who grew up doing everything together as best friends do and now their in college and thing’s have changed between them.
I’ll stop right there and just say this much, this arthur takes you on one whirlwind of a story she’ll have you all up in your feel’s one min and laughing the next and yeh there’s some of those hot and smexy times sprinkled in here as well. I absolutely enjoyed reading this book and would recommend grabbing it.
I loved the fact that there friendship blossoms into much more. This book is absolutely amazing. Its a fairytale of true love. The plot twists were amazing. It kept me guessing and couldn’t wait to finish.
Anyone who has ever fallen in love with a close friend can relate to In His Kiss by Ava Alise. This is the first installment in The Unrequited Series, and I found myself really adoring the two main characters. Xia and Jordan, after a night of fun and drinking, step beyond the friend boundary and sleep together. What Jordan tells Xia the next morning made my heart ache for her! I became so invested in this story that I literally threw my book! However, the good thing about these two is that they do remain supportive and considerate of each other, even though they no longer know quite how to navigate their friendship. This is the first book by this author that I’ve picked up, and I am glad I did. I will be looking forward to seeing where Jordan and Xia’s relationship goes from here. This is an easy and quick read for me – it is not hard to fall through the pages into their world. 4 stars.
Enjoyable story with Jordan and Xia. What happens when you are best friends with the opposite sex and become something more? Does it work or is it truly a mistake? This story captures that. I really enjoyed Xia and Jordan’s story. Their chemistry is just wow! There are some secrets that unfold, but this story flowed so smoothly. Very enjoyable and looking forward to the next book!
This is a flirty, whimsical, and fun read. Everyone loves unrequited love stories. Where the main characters are like ships passing in the night, their timing is never exactly right until it is. I like that the characters had a friendship before connecting on an intimate level. It is a guaranteed HEA- if you are in the mood for a quick feel-good read; look no further.

In His Kiss (The Unrequited Series #1) by Ava Alise
This is the first book I’ve read by the author. Alise had me hooked from the get go. I can’t wait until the next book comes out.
Xia has had a crush on her best friend Jordan for as long as she can remember. When the unthinkable happens it destroys her. Now she can’t trust the one person she should be able to. Especially when things with Jordan didn’t work out. The quote I chose for Xia is: “He told me, Jordan. I asked him if he cheated and he didn’t deny it. He just looked … guilty. God, Jordan. What the hell?”
Jordan has always thought about the benefits with Xia, but doesn’t think she feels the same. He doesn’t think twice when she kisses him. Then he breaks her heart. The quote I chose for Jordan is: “Come on, you know I’m not going to let you face this alone. It’s what we do for each other, right?”
Highly recommended for Contemporary Romance lovers.
In His Kiss was a fantastic friends to lovers romance. This is not your everyday romance though, writing friends to lovers is never an easy thing, but Ms. Alise made the transition flawless. Like most friends to lovers romances In His Kiss is full of angst, emotions, and definitely a few twists and turns. My only complaint about In His Kiss is it was too short. Ms. Alise hooked me from the very beginning and next thing I know I’ve read the whole book in one sitting. So if your looking for a great summer read then I definitely recommend In His Kiss by Ms. Ava Alise.
In His Kiss is the first book in The Unrequited Series by Ava Alise. I had previously read a couple of books by this author and had enjoyed them so was looking forward to reading more of her work. I’m glad I chose to read this book as I really enjoyed it.
In His Kiss is a great, contemporary, friends to lovers romance. I’m a sucker for just about every romance trope but I do love and angsty friends to lovers romance and In His Kiss fits the bill perfectly.
Xia has been best friends with Jordan since they were toddlers in nappies and have been inseparable since. Both have been in love with one another for some time but don’t want to ruin their friendship. But after a drunken night together Jordan declares that I was a mistake. How does their friendship survive this?
I loved Jordan and Xia’s story. It has the angst and hurt that you expect from a friends to lovers romance. Both are great characters who are very well written and you just can’t help but hope that they get their deserved HEA.
The story is well written and flows well, keeping the reader entertained from start to finish. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more from this series.
This was a cute read after I had just come off a book that was all about the dark side of things. I thought Jordan and axis were hella cute together! Their support of each other through their struggles was really heartwarming. My only issue was that I feel like most things were being told to me more so than me seeing them happen. I wasn’t deeply invested in their story but it was a really cute summer time read.
In His Kiss by Ava Elise is the first book in the Unrequited series. This is a sweet and heartfelt friends to lovers story that has some truly likeable characters right at its centre. I thought the author did a great job of balancing these amount of romance with the amount of drama – neither one seemed to over shadow the other.
I thought this was a quick and easy story o get into, a great way to pass away an afternoon or evening. It is easy to connect with both the story and the characters. This to me is a romance book done well and the author showed that this series is clearly going to be a good one. I am definitely looking forward to the second.
This is the first book in The Unrequited Series. It is a beautifully written friend to lovers romance. The author does an amazing job with her character. You can’t help but fall in love with them. You can feel the love and connection between them from the first page. Both characters have drama and trials in their life’s but their constant has always been each other.
After a night drinking heavily things cross the line. They both confess their love for each other and you can feel the contentment and love between them through the authors writing. Could this be the start of a beautiful romance or will the cold light of day ruin everything?
This is one romance you won’t be able to put down. You are drawn into the characters story and at times you feel like banging their heads together because you know they are perfect for each other. Will they see that in the end?
In His Kiss (The Unrequited Series Book 1) by Ava Alise is a friends to lover’s story. The story deals with depression and is quite emotive as we struggle along with the characters. One night changes it all. For better or worse? What happens if you hear the words you don’t want to hear? Can you go on? What happens when friends realise they feel much more? There is angst and drama, passion and lies. This captivating heartfelt story will leave you wanting more. Ava has done a good job pulling it all together. Grab a copy, you know you want to.
Ava Alise takes us an amazing journey of being best friends to more.
Jordan and Xia were best friends from conception in the womb. Every good memory and moment was one they shared and celebrated together. Each had feelings for other but kept that silence scared to cross the line. Every moment of the friendship took them to the present and reflected how perfect they would be together. When a drunken night turns into more it soon becomes a scared reality for each. Is this meant to be, or was this mistake. Throw in family struggles, lost loves, meddling ex-girlfriends, and friends cheering on the sidelines.
Jordan and Xia were young but mature. Watching their love unfold wa beautiful and it lit that spark that love like that does and can exist. Its a book I highly recommend.

In His Kiss was a great read and I really enjoyed it. The authors writing was engaging, easy to read and the storyline was good. I liked that characters, Jordan and Xia, and I think because their story spanned a long time in their lives, I really felt like I understood how they felt about each other. It wasn’t straight forward, there were some complexities to it but I couldn’t help myself from rooting for them. I could really feel the inner turmoil of both of them when it came to what would happen if they crossed the line and it ruined their strong friendship forever.
I am really looking forward to reading more from this author again in the future.
I definitely enjoyed the first book in this series. Ava Alise does a great job of making us fall in love with the main characters of this story. I was wondering “will they, won’t they?” on nearly every page. It’s got the “boy-next-door” vibes since Jordan and Xia grew up across the street from each other. Best friends in every sense of the phrase. Watching the one you love while they love someone else is difficult – and I think we have all been there. I caught myself not even bothering to stop reading until I had consumed the whole book. And now all I want is to read the next one because the ending to this one made me INSANELY curious about what could happen next! Don’t miss out, binge this book TODAY!

4-stars
In His Kiss is an incredible angsty and steamy friends to lover’s romance read that I enjoyed from start to finish. It was dramatic, emotional, captivating and action packed. I loved how this author managed to connect me with the characters from the get go, they were really relatable so it made it easy to picture everything playing out in my mind.
I enjoyed how this story followed Xia and Jordan, along with the many secondary characters, there was truly never a dull moment. I look forward to reading more about this group of friends in the coming books of the series.
In His Kiss by Ava Alise a fab four-star read. This is number one in the Unrequited series, and I am eager for more, this has everything it needs to be brilliant, angst, passion, drama, heart wringing emotions, friends to lovers. It just didn’t have characters I loved all the way through. There is lots going on with this story, and different story lines, but its easy to keep them clear as you read. Xia and Jordan will have your emotions running all over. Number two can’t come soon enough for me, as once I got to know everyone well, and started to really like them, I couldn’t wait for more.
Xia and Jordan are the best of friends and have been since their diaper days. Xia has been in love with Jordan for years, but he only sees her as his best friend…or so she thinks. After a night or drinking they cross the line from friendship to something more. Will they be able to remain friends or will their night together make things too awkward to remain friends? Will either of them be willing to admit that what they said while drunk was real? Read the story of Xia and Jordan to find out.
It was enjoyable as well as a quick and easy read.

Xia and Jordan have been friends since they were in diapers but somewhere along the way, each fell for the other. Because of fear, youth and bad timing, neither was ready to reveal their feelings until one night with a drink or two too many. Will it ruin the lifelong friendship?
Xia’s life is falling apart. Jordan was there, as always, to catch and support her. He is reeling from this latest discovery, as well, because their families have always been so close. Jordan knows that he has to keep it together to be there for Xia as she copes with this family disaster. Xia was there for him 2 years ago for his own family tragedy. She had always been there. Jordan knew there would never be a question if he would be there for her, he just hoped that it would be more than friends.
Ava Alise delicately wrings out the emotions of the reader. I became a part of the friend group with Roman, King, Cherry and Kenzie. I was a student in class with Professor Satchi. I hated Ben and supported Della. Ava Alise handles the mental health issues of her characters with respect, appreciation and love.
I can’t wait for Book Two!
