Carefree and strong-willed, Katherine Montgomery is the daughter of a successful Montana horse rancher. When a tragic accident claims her father’s life, Katherine is left to deal with an overbearing mother whose agenda does not include a young daughter. Fate deals her another devastating blow, leaving her to face an uncertain future far away from everything and everyone she’s loved.
Trace …
Trace Hawley used to push the limits of the law, and no one was going to plan his future for him. The death of the man who always had his back leaves him to finally face responsibility. The promises he made a decade ago have shaped him into the man he is today, and will bring him face to face with the one girl from his past he always tried to avoid.
After a ten year absence, Katherine returns to the ranch she once loved to discover the shocking reason her mother summoned her home. Surprised to find Trace still at the ranch, her childhood infatuation grows into something far stronger as he challenges her to lead the life she once wanted, but seems to have forgotten. When Katherine is forced to make a choice between saving her father’s dreams or following her own, Trace might be the only one who holds the key to both.

I truly enjoyed this book. I am a fan of this Author. Her characters are always incredibly written and her plots are well thought out.
I enjoyed Katie and Trace’s story. It shows how determined one with a handicap can be to live as normal a life as possible. Learning skills that can be done with ease is very important to someone that doesn’t want to be “taken care of” their entire life. The feelings they have of being alone the rest of their lives is overpowering sometimes, yet Katie learned with Traces help that she could do more than she ever imagined.
Trace had loved Katie a very long time, just didn’t realize it! When it did hit him like a ton of bricks he was amazed. He truly didn’t see her blindness as a handicap, but accepted her for who she was. It was the first time in her life after she was blinded that she truly felt accepted and loved.
The drama, the fortitude and the love in this story grabs you immediately and keeps you reading!
I loved the book and have already started the second in the series!
An absolute must read! Great book with well written characters
Great book
I really enjoyed it.
story about overcoming a handicap and learning that true love can make life good again.
Great book and story line!!
It certainly kept me on the edge of my seat, so to speak. With a satisfying blend of characters from strong, naive, selfish, sweet and protective, I found myself cheering for some and loathing others. Hard to put down!
Predictable ending, but a nice feel-good story.
Touched my heart. Tragic but lovely in the end.
I liked that the story depicted a blind person is perfectly capable of being a regular member of society and doing anything a sighted person can do!
uplifting
Nice read.
Good story. Good characters. No steamy sex to wade through!
One of the best books I’ve read this year! A wonderful read! I loved how strong she was in spite of her blindness and how unconcerned he was that it would limit her. Highly recommended!
I enjoyed this book so much. I didnt want to put this book down until the end
Beautiful story!
Sometimes those who should love us most are our worst enemies.
Peggy Henderson has created memorable, lovable characters. The
novel is set is the 1880’s of Montana
Territory. The character development,
too, is unforgettable. Everything from
wicked self-centeredness to extreme
bravery & strength of character, plus
self-sacrificing love & devotion are
all in this novel. Also, the plot line will
keep you up late, turning pages, to find
out how everything will come to a
culmination. Thank you, Ms Henderson, for creating such a strong,
devoted couple!!
Not hot and steamy but very good writing. Enjoyed it and just the right size to finish in a day. Didn’t drag on and on, just the way I like it. short and good
Great read!
