I shouldn’t have kissed Lindsey the morning after her husband died… her.
I shouldn’t have let Mitch think that kiss was about us…
Guilt over betraying my husband’s memory is killing me and letting Mitch take the blame for that kiss was wrong. He’s still battling his long-standing demons and, to make matters worse, we’re slipping back into the reckless pattern of our lives from when we were young. I know he’ll push me away like he’s done before. But I’m not sure how to stop us from hurting my daughter.

The second book in the Canvas series a story that kept me turning pages. Mitch and Lindsey’s story mainly with its ups and downs, and Mitch finally realizing what he is about to lose if he goes ahead with his plans. It is also about their family and friends. The story was well worth reading. I received a copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Lindsey and Mitch …. finally get together???
Imprint is the second book in the Canvas series and is continues the story of Lindsey and Mitch. The first book, Canvas, must be read before this book otherwise you may not pick up everything. These books are an emotional roller-coaster ride with two people who share their life’s ups and down. There were times where I found the story dragging, repeating or rehashing things from the first book. So I did skim parts just to get past these things. By the end there were some unanswered things so not sure if the author is planning another book or not to this story, as I had thought it was only going to be two books. Overall this was a good story.

This is a well written conclusion in tying two books together. The author once again brings a cast of strong characters along with tons of emotions to the story line. She moves the story fluidly with perfectly painted scenes and delivers another great read.

Brilliant. This is the second book in the duet and takes over from where Canvas ends. I enjoyed book one, but feel this is better…. Focusing on the relationship between Lindsey and Mitch and everything that has happened between them over the years.
Mitch finally comes to terms with his feelings for Lindsey even if it takes most of the book yo come to a head, but it rears to the fore in great fashion – in the bridal shop, within the hearing of his bride to be Amanda, plus Lindsey. He finally succumbs to accepting his relationship with his mother is disturbed and dis-functional; plus hid marriage to Amanda was nothing short of a smokescreen in smothering his love for Lindsey. The writing of the final chapters & ending is lovely and rewarding.
Mitch learns to man-up. Amanda, overbearing gets the truth, Megan and Doug have problems to face, Joan is a cameo character, Lindsey is the grieving widow slowly facing her fears, loss and desires.

Imprint by Jody Kaye. What a emotional and enduring story that pulls you in and brings you along the journey as Lindsey and Mitch navigate their feelings, taking second chances, and embracing life that could give them both their much deserved HEA. The book is a good, and enjoyable small town romance read. The story has a good story line. The characters are good, and they have good chemistry.

This is book two in The Canvas Series and it continues Lindsey and Mitch’s story. I really enjoyed the conclusion to this story and I couldn’t put this book down as it had great characters and a storyline that pulled you in and I had to keep turning the pages to see what would happen next. I definitely recommend you read this book but just remember that you will need to read book one which is Canvas first to get all the background history but it is definitely worth reading.

4.5 bumped to 5 Red Pepper & Meant to Be Stars. Imprint picks up right where Canvas left off. This one seems to flow a little smoother. Maybe that’s because of the familiarity I already had with the characters and that they are now adults with families and careers of their own. They are not as impulsive or at least try not to be. There is way more at stake. Yet, with all of the growing up, the maturity, and the stability gained there is much that is in upheaval. Sometimes it seems the more things change the more they stay the same. That is especially true when you begin to realize that there are some things you just can’t fight and the harder you try to, the worse it gets.
Mitch is still making the wrong decisions for all the right reasons. He is still in protector/self-sacrificing mode when it comes to those he truly loves. He had an abusive childhood, which is difficult for anyone to overcome. Oh, he wasn’t physically abused, in many ways that would have been easier to get over. No, his was emotional and mental abuse. To the person who should love and protect him above all else, he is just a tool. Mitch has known it for a while, but he also feels he has to “take it” so that he can protect his real family. He knows that the woman who gave him life will go after them if he doesn’t fall in line with her manipulations. He tries the best he can to fight her, but he feels it’s useless. And so is he, she’s told him enough times that he believes it. Mitch has never shared all that went on while he was with his mother. Because of this, his true family doesn’t understand his actions much of the time. They try to figure it out and know it’s connected to his mother, but they don’t know the full extent of it all. In Imprint, Mitch finally has to decide which path his life is going to take. The one that protects everyone? Or the one that will make him happiest? Or can the two actually be combined?
There are just as many emotions in this one as there were in Canvas, but this one is a quieter emotional ride. There are a lot of revelations and soul searching. Once again, there is more than one story that runs through this one. Yet because the Hammond family is like it is, all the stories come together to form a picture of life and the true love that comes with it if you’re lucky.
Imprint picks up right where Canvas leaves us. The storyline is extremely good and I preferred this book to Canvas, although it wasn’t taking me in a direction I wanted it to go. Nevertheless by the end this angsty, emotional rollercoaster, drama laden book had me feeling like I’d been put through my paces, I was wrung out and in need of a drink and tissues. Maybe a weekend on the lake with Scarlett and Peter would be the place to recover. OMG David is my hero, he is so level headed that he had me crying so hard for him. Frustrations at the lack of communication between Mitch and Lindsey. Although he meant well, I just couldn’t understand his thought process at times, thankfully he opened his eyes and saw clearly at the end.
