“A chilling and intricate web…spectacularly entertaining.”~Kristen Mae, bestselling author of UnderdogA kidnapped child. A detective on the edge. And a suicide that’s anything but.“Little Greggie” Boyle was the amazing reappearing child—a boy kidnapped and returned to his parents after five years in captivity. So what would make him take his own life? That’s the question hanging over Detective … life? That’s the question hanging over Detective Petrosky’s head.
It seems straightforward: the teenager was found suspended from the rafters in the foyer of his parents’ home, a rope around his neck. No signs of struggle. No note, though that isn’t uncommon despite what Hollywood says—those movie nitwits don’t know real crime from their left elbows.
But something is wrong. The victim’s parents are stonewalling the police, and Gregory’s brother is cagey—even a little creepy. None of them seem interested in finding out what drove Gregory to kill himself. Or maybe they know something Petrosky doesn’t. Then forensic evidence turns the case on its head: the boy was drugged. The death wasn’t a suicide at all. Perhaps the kidnappers came back to make sure he stayed quiet…permanently.
As the investigation continues, a darker pattern of abductions begins to emerge. Gregory wasn’t the only child taken, and it appears the kidnapper is cleaning house—are any of the other victims still alive? One thing seems clear: Petrosky and his partner aren’t just hunting a killer; they’re looking for more bodies. If they don’t hurry, the man who murdered Gregory Boyle will rip other children from their families—kids who will never again come home.
And more dead children, especially on the anniversary of his daughter’s grisly murder, is more than Detective Petrosky can handle. He needs to catch the killer and ensure no more children fall prey to this maniac before he loses his own tenuous grasp on sanity.
Fiendishly clever, unique, and replete with twists and turns that keep readers glued to the pages, Imposter is a fast-paced crime thriller in the vein of Sidney Sheldon, Tana French, and Dean Koontz’s Jane Hawk series.

Imposter: An Ash Park Novel (Volume 7) by Meghan O’Flynn. This is the 7th book in this series and they are all spectacular. I think each one gets better and leave me wanting the next one. We are back with Detective Petrosky and his partner Jackson. Their new case is about Greggie Boyle who was Kidnapped and brought back to his parents after 5 years. They are called to Greg’s home where he is found hanging in the foyer. His parents are acting very strange and his brother is downright creepy. They won’t help Petrosky with anything. Once the blood works comes back it seems little Greg was drugged? Petrosky is so confused and then he finds out more children have been kidnapped and returned are they the next victims? Petrosky wants to solve this case before another child comes up dead. With the anniversary of his daughter’s brutal murder coming up the sooner he can solve this the better.
Imposter is the 7th book in the Ash Park series by Meghan O’Flynn. It is the second book I have read (I read book 6) but they are independent stories. The overlap is the backstory of the characters, but its not needed to read in order. I don’t know where O’Flynn gets her ideas, but they are so complex and well written. I didn’t want to put the book down, because I needed to know what was going to happen. How are all these events related? Who is the missing link? The story was a little too complex for me, as I had a hard time keeping up, but likely due to late night reading. The book was wonderful and I highly recommend it. Its like reading a Law and Order episode, but better. Dick Wolf has nothing on her!
The book starts by detective Petrosky investigating the death of Gregory Boyle. He was kidnapped as a child, then returned home 5 years later. Now he is dead, in what appears to be a suicide at first. But before long, there is signs pointing to homicide. That is when things get complicated. There are far too many possible suspects, and not enough evidence. The deeper the detectives dig, the more they discover, and things just aren’t piecing together. There is so much more to this death than anyone originally guessed.
This book is such a thrilling story and I did not put it down until i was done. This has a very big true crime thing going which I am absolutely loving right now. Meghan O’Flynn wrote this intense scary book that did not hold back on the details in the slightest. This book is like reading a horror movie in the best possible way. I think the detective is probably my favourite character because of all he goes through.
Imposter is the seventh book in the Ash Park series by Meghan O’Flynn. The author has outdone herself with this book, the story-line will bring goosebumps to your skin while you are on her emotional roller-coaster. We follow Detective Petrosky who has been called to the house of the miracle boy who was kidnapped and returned after 5 years of captivity. However, he has been called there due to the boy committing what look’s like suicide and it doesn’t seem like this will be the only one in the case. You will find yourself turning the pages from the beginning trying to find out what happens next. There is so much I want to say but I think you need to read it to see what happens you won’t be disappointed.
Imposter: An Ash Park Novel (Volume 7) by Meghan O’Flynn
5 of 5 Stars
This is book 7 in Meghan O’Flynn’s ‘Ash Park’ series but each book can be read as a standalone story. This is a gritty crime thriller which had me gripped from page one and had so many clever twists and turns that it kept me hooked and guessing until the end.
Detective Petrosky has a difficult case to solve, a young boys apparent suicide but with no note Petrosky is not convinced. Making the case even more complicated is that the victim, ‘Little Greggie Boyle’, was the “amazing reappearing child”. He had been kidnapped and kept in captivity for five years before being returned to his parents, so what would make him want to end his life now. The parents and Gregory’s brother are also being very cagey and unhelpful which also makes the Detective suspicious. The more Petrosky investigates the darker his case becomes and he fears further abductions and death, all of which adds to his own demons as the anniversary of his daughters own murder looms.
This is a fast paced thriller with a storyline that is chilling and dark but one that I became engrossed in due to the writers amazingly detailed descriptions. The main character, Detective Petrosky was a great character with so many layers to him and an intriguing backstory of his own.
This was my first ‘Ash Park’ novel but it definitely will not be my last.
Wow! Its almost a shame that I’ve never heard of this author before!! And while this is 7 in the series, I’m relieved it can be read as a standalone. This book is intricately and beautifully complex and its wonderfully written. The storyline is realistic but a fantastically written mystery. Petrosky is the type you want to hate because he’s such a grump but you can’t. I cant wait to go back and read this series from the beginning!!!
This is a brilliant novel such a powerful gripping storyline one that you will not be able to pull yourself away from I certainly couldn’t. I love an intense crime story and this novel definitely delivered I was gripping the edge of my seat throughout and eager to turn the pages to find out what will happen next!
This is the first book that I have read from this author. I was drawn in because it was a mystery type genre. I can say this was an interesting book but I would have to say that you probably should read the first 6 before reading this one as it will help know more about the characters. There is a little background that I was missing about one of the detectives in this storyline.
It was a gripping hooked me from the beginning storyline. I was a little confused with what was going on with the storyline but that is what made this so interesting. It will draw you in with the mystery and have you turning the page to see what is going to happen next. This does start off a little upsetting as it does start off with a death but that is just the beginning of this amazing mystery storyline. Amazingly written, great storyline, amazing characters. I was turning the pages as quickly as I could so I could figure out who did what. Takes you on a journey that will have you wanting more. After reading this one I will so be reading the rest in this series. Highly recommend.
You will always want Petrosky and Jackson on your side in this series. Never doubt this duo and their persistent desire to get to the truth. O’Flynn knows how to make her characters come alive and you feel every heartbeat as you get sucked in with each turn of the page. “Imposter” is riveting and twisted, filled with kidnappings, reunions, suicides, suspicions, and a lot of unanswered questions that will only leave you guessing as to what comes next. Meghan’s creative writing will have you sucked so far into the center of the madness that it will be nearly impossible to put this book down.
Imposter: An AshPark Novel (Volume 7) by Meghan O’Flynn
4 out of 5 stars.
O’Flynn never ceases to amaze me. She is consistently turning out fantastic book after book and this seventh installment of her AshPark series is just as amazing as the others.
Detective Petrosky always seems to get the hard cases. The boy who was taken and returned. Little Greggie Boyle was the kidnap story of the century. Found and returned to his parents after five years of being missing, only to take his own life. But Why?
Something is not adding up, and Petrosky is going to get to the bottom of it. As the case progresses, more and more bodies show up, and Petrosky and his partner and beginning to wonder if they are hunting for a serial killer.
O’Flynn is an astounding crime writer. She is on par with James Patterson, Michael Connelly and John Grisham. I know that every time I pick up her books, I will never be disappointed.
Imposter is the 7th book in the Ash Park series on boy oh boy does O’Flynn deliver in this book. I honestly can’t get enough of these twisted dark tales. O’Flynns writing is top notch. She has a way of sucking you into her stories right from the beginning. The moment you crack open that book you are a goner! Tell your friends and family that you will be busy until the book is finished.
In Imposter, Petrosky is trying to solve yet another mystery. A murder that brings back painful memories of his daughters murder. Determined to solve the case before another child is killed Petrosky pushes himself to his limit.
Another great book by Meghan O’Flynn. I really enjoy reading her style of writing and how great she does on her character building. This is the seventh book in the series and there are Kidnapping and suicide in this book so if that’s a trigger for you then you may want to sway away from this book. I look forward to reading many more books by Mrs. O’Flynn 🙂
Imposter was a great 5 star read and book seven in the Ash Park series.
I was pulled in right from the beginning, we once again get another thrilling read from this author.
When a kidnapped boy comes home and than later commits suicide, things don’t seem right. Things seem mysterious around his death and his family is acting suspicious. As detective Petrosky gets closer to solving the case, more kidnappings start to happen.
Can Petrosky and his partner find the killer before it’s too late?
Overall I really loved this book. I have to say I think this is my favorite in the series. We get shocking twists and suspense and thrills like you wouldn’t believe. Each book can be read as a stand alone. Just when you think you have it figured out you are thrown for a loop. You will want to read it in one sitting so you can see how it ends. If you like thrilling reads that shock you than 1-click and get started today. I look forward to reading more from this author.
Imposter is the seventh book in Meghan O’Flynn’s Detective Petrosky’s Ash Park series. I am always thrilled to see an Ash Park book popping up on my feed as I know that there is something mind-blowing waiting for me. You can read it as a standalone; I guess all the books in the series could be read as standalones but for the sake of ultimate enjoyment, do yourself a favour and read all of them! There are recurring characters and snippets of backstory and things are thrown at you that you do not recognise, do not know their significance and, yeah … just don’t go there!
It is another murder investigation for Detective Petrosky and once again, the past and the present collide and it is kidnapped children who have been returned to their families that are being killed you all this is dragging up the painful memories of Pterosky’s own daughter’s murder. He is running against the clock, trying to find the killer before more children are killed and the families are torn apart permanently …
As always, the writer gives us an intense dark story that leaves us at the edge of our seat, biting our nails and hoping against all odds … it is a monster that Petrosky is fighting to capture, a monster hiding in the shadows …
Imposter: An Ash Park Novel (Volume 7) by Meghan O’Flynn
5-Star
Imposter: An Ash Park Novel (Volume 7) by Meghan O’Flynn was an excellent crime and thriller novel. I loved it. I was hooked from page one. I love the detail and character development in this novel. The twists and turns of the story had me at the edge of my seat. There was excellent plot and climax as well as descriptive scenery. The gory crime scene was easy to visualize and had me a little queasy. This was easily a 5 star book. I highly recommend it. I can never get enough of Petrosky.
Imposter
An Ash Park Novel
Volume 7
By Meghan O’Flynn
This is a full length novel. The 7th book in this series. I suggest you read them in order.
Just to get caught up thus far.
Detective Petrosky is at it again. He is investigating the Little Greggie case. Greg had been kidnapped, held hostage for 5 years. Then showed up at a cemetery?. Now 2 years after his release he hangs himself? Something is off and Petrosky is going to find out just what happened?
Meghan O’Flynn is at it again. I have found this series to be filled with emotions. The characters she used in this book are just everyday people. Yet are they? This book will keep you reading after the first page. There are many twists and turns found in this book alone. So much investigating, you will find yourself drawn into. I hope you enjoy this series as much as I do. Now bring on the next in this series Meghan O’Flynn!!!
Imposter: An Ash Park Novel (Volume 7)
by Meghan O’Flynn
Let me start off by saying wow!! This book had me on the edge of my seat throughout its entirety. Petrosky is barely holding it together because he’s still fighting to hold on especially as his dead daughter’s birthday is nearing. I stayed up way too late to finish this book because I was so invested and I needed to go where this would end. From one moment to the next I didn’t know what was going to happen or what twist was going to change what I thought I knew. This author is an exceptional writer, the suspenseful stories are top notch and must be read. This book is definitely one of the must reads I highly recommend this book.
Meghan O’Flynn did it again! I haven’t read all the books in this series yet, but this one was another knockout novel! You don’t have to have read any others to understand the events that take place, but it does help in knowing some of the characters. This novel was full of suspense, and I couldn’t put it down! It had me gripped from the first chapter, and the mystery and crime drama was perfect if that’s your thing. There were so many unexpected twists I didn’t expect at all! I can’t wait to read more from this incredible author!

5 +++++++++ Stars
AWESOME!!
This is absolutely my go to author now for any kind of crime, suspense fiction and actually any kind of genre. Her writing style is exactly what I love about reading and when I start one of her books I do not want to put them down or for them to end.
This book series could so easily be a TV series, while reading these books I can actually picture these scenes playing out and would love to add this to one of my binge lists LOL
This one had me all messed up, as per usual, I always think I can see what’s coming but then I realize why I’m just a reader. Petrosky is one of my favorite characters ever…He’s flawed, broken, and his inner dialogue makes me feel like I know him now. I absolutely felt all of his feelings dealing with the upcoming birthday of his daughter, and his interaction with Linda totally broke my heart. There is so much more than just solving cases when you read these books.
Not going into any more of this story, there’s a lot of moving parts in this book and every one of them are in perfect sync.
Read this series, seriously!! You won’t be sorry!! I can not wait to go back and read every one of them again.
Wow what an amazing story full of twists and turns that keeps you hooked from the first page.
Ed Petrosky and his partner Jackson are called to a suicide or so it seems. On arriving they realise that the person who has committed suicide is little Greggie Boyle who went missing and reappeared years later.
Ed and Jackson start to investigate and are shocked when suicide isn’t the cause of death but murder is.
Then starts a rollercoaster of an investigation. No one is who they seem to be. Petrosky and Jackson have to retrace the investigation into Gregory’s disappearance to see if there is any connection.
This investigation deals with child abuse, kidnapping and murder but the people who are involved are people no one would expect.
