I’m a blogger. He’s a writer.
He was my weakness.
I was his muse.
Once upon a time my marriage was built on love…
Until it wasn’t.
Where had we gone wrong?
I had given up hope…
But then he messaged me,
And his words intoxicated me.
Made me believe in love again.
Made me believe in truth.
My imperfect truth…
Perfect truth everyone has one, believes one, maybe even creates one. We create a perfect truth when we can’t accept imperfect that surrounds us.
What is your imperfect truth? This book takes you on a journey that is suffocating and painfull, but it’s eye opening.
After reading this book, you will walk away wanting to be better a you, a better partner, or a better wife.
I loved the emotional journey the book provided. My only complaint is that I let it sit on TBR too long.
Happy Reading!
This is a very painful journey through the near collapse of a marriage. It is marked by miscommunication, deceit, family issues, childhood issues, and finally self-discovery, forgiveness and love.
Fairly well edited.
Ava and Alexandre are mired in the doldrums of a marriage. Each has issues weighing them down that they fail to discuss with the most important person in their life. Ava has unresolved feelings from her childhood that have bled over into how she feels as an adult. Alexandre has his own family issues, which he internalizes rather than bringing into the open. All the silence, doubt, and questions leave Ava open to the attentions of a new man. Will this new man give Ava what she’s missing? Will it cost her her marriage? Will Ava ever find her way through and back to Alexandre? Will he even want to fix and resolve things?
This was not an easy read. There are so many times that you just want to tell Ava that she is being played, to walk away, to open up to Alexandre. And, so many times you want to tell Alexandre to open his eyes before it is too late. Predators like Ryder come in all shapes and sizes. Unfortunately, just like Ava, when someone is ensnared by the predator it is hard to get them to see the truth. It often takes something catastrophic – just like with Ava – before the light comes on. Only then can the journey towards healing begin. I usually end with ‘Enjoy’, but I don’t think it’s appropriate here. Instead, read as a journey and a warning to ‘beware a wolf in sheep’s clothing’.
Another well written story from the author! I couldn’t put this book down once I started reading it. I don’t even know where to start in describing how much I enjoyed this book. It is definitely a story that you could see played out in real life – I found myself internally yelling at Ava when she was in her texing relationship with Ryder. Ugh….even her best friend knew it was a recipe for disaster. But, in the end……that whole scenario was a catalyst for her to see what was in front of her all along. Great read!
This is the first book by Ava Harrison, and boy did I enjoy it! The first thing that grabbed my attention was the beautiful cover but what really got me intrigued was the blurb. It was something unique, I havent read any book with a plot like this one. I havent read about a blogger interacting with an author.
When I was reading the book I didn’t know what to expect, it could go any direction. I really loved that about this book, being not able to predict what was going to happen. It was obvious Ava wasn’t happy in her marriage, I really didn’t like her husband. It wasn’t a surprise that she loved the attention she got from the mysterious Ryder, she didn’t get any at home.
There were some things off with Ryder, the way he acted was strange. It looked like he had multiple personalities (and maybe he does). Ava was getting addicted to Ryder, so at that point I saw that it wouldn’t end well for Ava. The reason I didn’t give it 5 stars was because I found the ending a bit rushed. I think in general I just wanted this book to be longer. I am really looking forward to more books by Ava!!
