Millie Turner is a master at compartmentalizing. She’s put her past in a box and she doesn’t talk, or even think about it. She’s managed to avoid her cheating, lying, manipulative ex-boyfriend for months. Unfortunately, avoidance is no longer an option. Her brother is getting married and his Best Man is none other than the ex that nearly destroyed her.She doesn’t trust herself to spend an entire … an entire weekend in his presence. Not on her own. She needs a date, a distraction, a buffer, someone to keep him away from her… but she never expected her savior to come in the form of a saint.
Hunter St. James has been fascinated by the mysterious Millie since the moment they met. Despite his efforts to get her to open up, she’s kept their relationship strictly professional though. When their boss asks him to act as Millie’s date for a big family event, it seems like the perfect chance to get to know the girl that’s been keeping him at arms-length.
He thought a weekend of playing lovers would be all fun and games but he soon finds out Millie’s more than just mysterious. She has secrets and her picture-perfect façade is just as fake as their relationship is supposed to be. Only the more he learns, the more he wants to know and the less their relationship feels like a lie.
Can Hunter convince Millie to trust him with the truth? And if Millie comes clean about her past, will Hunter still want a future with her? Neither of them is perfect but maybe that’s exactly what makes them perfect for each other.

4 1/2 Stars
I loved that Hunter was very interested in Millie before he was asked to protect her from her cheating ex.
Millie was secretive about the actual reason she left her soulmate, and brother’s best friend Joshua. Her boss Lemon knew he cheated multiple times with other women and knew Millie was vulnerable to his charms. It was frustrating that Millie did not let her brother know the whole truth of his best friend’s treatment, which lead to him trying to get them back together.
Hunter had no problem acting like her fake boyfriend and plus one at her brother’s wedding.
A sweetly romantic touch that he knew so many personal things about her, gathering information and paying attention to her likes and dislikes in the months he worked protecting Lemon.
It was fun watching their relationship unfold has Millie began trusting him as the fireworks and their intense chemistry took off.
Some ominous undertones as Joshua was always watching, planning, seething and lurking in the background waiting to make his move.
I loved the way Hunter was always focused on Millie and her well being.
Lots of climatic drama at the end complete with murder and mayhem.
Hunter’s HEA with Millie was well deserved and satisfying.

Just because you grew up with everything, that doesn’t mean you truly had everything. Millie looks like a girl that has everything, but no one knows what truly happened with her past. Her meddling, but well meaning brother tries to make everything “better” by having her as the maid of honor and her ex as the best man. Little does her brother know that it isn’t want Millie wants. Enter Hunter. When Millie’s best friend and one of her top clients, Lemon, sends Hunter to pretend to be Millie’s date, Millie’s life is turned upside down. I absolutely loved this book. I cried, I shouted and I smiled so big it hurt. I definitely recommend.
I should point out that there are triggers here. There is violence among abuse. However, it involves the past so I was glad to see that the main characters found a healthy relationship together. This was sweet and written beautifully. I was sucked into the story and wanting to know the truth behind Millie’s struggles and past. Hunter just about took my heart and it was great seeing their relationship develop and Millie learn to trust him.

Hunter and Millie are instant chemistry and slow angst. Their story is not quick, but full of trust, bumps, twist and turns that eventually lead you to the path they find together. Amazing job by this author!!
This was a very interesting story. I didn’t know what would happen next. This is a good start to new series.
Jess Bryant did amazing with this book. Played with your emotions.
I loved Hunter and Millie, they may be completely different. They just made it all work.
What a great story by Jess Bryant. It was sweet, romantic, sexy and exciting and some parts had my blood boiling, but it was such a great read! You can just FEEL the love between Hunter and Millie. So romantic. I know people will be looking for their own Hunter! I can’t wait for the next Saint!
OMG!! This book had my stomach in knots, my pulse racing, my heart beating faster and my emotions all over the place from beginning to end. Once I started I couldn’t put it down till the end. Millie needs a date to her brother’s wedding and she needs one fast. Thankfully her best friend is Lemon Kelly (Yay!) and Lemon has a plan. Millie trusts Lemon and goes ahead with whatever she has planned, but what she doesn’t expect is Hunter St. James to be that plan.
Hunter has had a crush on Millie from the moment he met her. So when Lemon asks him for a favor, he has no problem saying yes. Especially because it means he will be spending time with Millie. He also knows that things aren’t what they seem and is willing to be whatever Millie needs him to be.
Holy book boyfriend Batman! Hunter is EVERYTHING. He’s not only super sweet and swoonworthy, but he knows when to turn the Alpha switch. In the best way possible. It doesn’t take long for him to figure out why Millie needed a date to this wedding and that’s when things get really good.
I loved this story so much. Millie is a strong woman, but events from her past still haunted her, especially considering the past is her brother’s best friend. While she probably could have handled things on her own, having Hunter there made her stronger. They brought the sexy and the sweet and the two of them together is just perfection!
CW: domestic violence, emotional abuse
Jess Bryant blew me away with this first book in her new All Saints Security series!
Hunter St. James, is tasked with accompanying Millie Turner as her “pretend” date to her brother’s weekend wedding, where her ex-fiance will be the best man. Hunter isn’t too worked up over it though, because he’s been trying to find a way to get close to Millie ever since they started working together. (He’s security to Millie’s boss, Lemon Kelly.) Millie doesn’t want to see her ex and no one really knows why as she is very private about why they broke up. Over the course of the weekend, Hunter and Millie get closer and there is less and less faking going on.
I loved Millie’s strength in becoming her own person and working hard to build her life the way she wanted it. It was wonderful to see her learn to trust in Hunter, without giving up any of herself in the process. Hunter was just swoony! He’s basically the perfect book boyfriend–all protective and possessive without being overbearing. This book had everything I love in a story–a hot, swoon-worthy hero, a strong, sassy heroine that doesn’t realize her own strength, strong family ties, some great action and plenty of heat. I loved it and I’m looking forward to more in this series!
This is Jess Bryant’s best book to date. It is also one of my top reads of the year. How can I write a review about a story that touched and affected me so much? Millie is an awe inspiring survivor of domestic abuse and Hunter is the strong, alpha man that helps heal and shows her what true love is. A wonderful and well written story of survival, hope and love. Highly recommended and one that deserves all the stars because it is just that good.
She has to go to her brother’s wedding. Too bad her brother wants her back with the man he thinks is wonderful for her and his best friend–not the cheating jerk she’s left out of her life. Now she has to see him again and he thinks he can pull her back with him. That is until her client who’s also her good friend sets her up with a fake boyfriend. Her friend’s personal security and a man Millie can’t stop thinking about.
Hunter is thrilled with the “assignment”. He’s been flirting with her since she interviewed him for his job. Their pretend weekend could just turn out to be more than an out for Millie. What woman could resist a guy as hot as Hunter?
Finding out her secrets that keep her personal life private is going to take some effort. He’s determined to succeed and get the woman he wants.
The characters are strong yet compassionate. Can Hunter teach her that some men can be trusted? The family doesn’t know the secrets she’s hiding. Will they find out and support her? Will they accept Hunter? What about the ex?
There is love, steam, growth, and retribution.

When Millie needs a date to her brother’s wedding, as she is going to have to face her ex, Hunter ends up going with her, but will he be able to convince Millie to take a chance of them having a relationship? This is a well written flawless story, which is an emotional roller coaster, and this author has done an amazing job with writing about a sensitive topic, which is abuse, and has secrets, violence, and a brave heroine, as well as a protective alpha. I was intrigued and hooked throughout this addictive page turner, and look forward to reading more from this gifted author. Be aware of any triggers which may affect readers!
This is a wonderful story in a new series. Millie has to go home for her brother’s wedding but that also means seeing her abusive ex. She is very nervous about going so her boss & friend Lemon set Millie up with Hunter St. James. Hunter has had a thing for Millie since meeting her when he started working for Lemon so he was more than willing to go with Millie to protect her. Hunter knows there are things that Millie hasn’t told him but he hopes she eventually will trust him enough to tell him all of her secrets. Millie is afraid of telling Hunter because she fears it will change his opinion of her. There were so many emotions I went through reading this story but it was extremely well written.
What an honest & real, sweet & swoon worthy, heartbreakingly beautiful read. This is my absolute favorite book from Jess Bryant to date. SO GOOD Millie and Hunter GAH You will root for them, smile and cry with them and fall in love with their story. There are so many wonderful things to be said about Imperfect Saint; and from beginning to end I was hooked. The truth behind Jess Bryant’s words will break your heart in the very best possible way as she takes you on this journey of strength, forgiveness and love.
With a cast full of wonderful secondary characters, all the suspense, secrets, family & one heck of an undeniable connection. I honestly cannot say enough how extraordinary this book was & I cannot wait to read what’s next from the All Saints Security Series!
Yes, yes yes!
Everything about this book is a definite yes.
From start to end… I couldn’t put this down…
I love that Lemon took control and set this “wedding date” thing up for them… whew!
Imperfect Saint by Jess Bryant has become one of my favorite books from her!
Millie is a strong and independent woman, who has had to overcome abuse from a past relationship. Hunter is a colleague of Millie’s – his company provides security for her boss and friend, Lemon. Hunter also has some serious feelings toward Millie.
When Millie needs a date for her brother’s wedding that is also going to be attended by her ex, Lemon enlists Hunter’s help. From there we see the evolution of their journey together.
Jess’s writing has a way of sucking you in. It packs so much in and leaves you wanting more. I cannot recommend this story enough, and I’m excited to see what comes next in this new series.

Let me start off by saying that this was my first read by this author. Being I haven’t read her books before, I wasn’t sure what to expect. But let me just say that I am utterly and completely blown away by her words and this story! I literally couldn’t put it down. I read it in one sitting, it’s just that incredible. I am in such awe of her characters, Hunter and Millie, that they will forever be ingrained in my heart and soul. Millie is a young woman who is making something of her life and refuses to let her ex-fiancé get in her way. Her brother is getting married and unfortunately her ex-fiancé is his best man and Millie doesn’t want to go, until her best friend says to bring a fake boyfriend and arranges it for her. The man in question, Hunter, happens to be her friend’s bodyguard and he has feelings for Millie already, so it was a no brainer for him to go with her. But Millie has secrets that no one in her family knows about, and she is afraid they will come to light at the wedding. Hunter is there to protect her and be her pretend boyfriend, but he isn’t pretending. He just needs to make Millie aware of his feelings. But her ex-fiancé doesn’t make it easy. Can Hunter show Millie that he is a good guy and will do anything to make her happy? Can Millie overcome her past and let someone new into her heart? As you read, you will know in your heart that these two belong together. They just mesh so well together, and their chemistry is mesmerizing. There is a lot going on in this story that will make your head spin and I loved every minute of it. Keep in mind, this author does touch on a very sensitive subject, but she does it with style and finesse and most importantly, respect. She has a way of making you visualize what the characters look like, and feeling their emotions. My heart actually hurt at times for Millie. Please do yourself a favor and read this phenomenal story. There is no doubt in my mind that I will be reading more by this author as she now has a new fan in me.
Imperfect Saint is a sweet, sexy journey of two people who are so much better together than seperate.
Millie needs a date to her brother’s wedding. She can’t show up alone or ex-fiance Joshua will drag her back into thinking she can’t live without him.
Lemon has the best offer though, the head of her security team, Hunter St. James will escort Millie to Colin’s wedding and protect her from her abusive ex while there.
Hunter has his own agenda because he is all in with Millie Turner. He’s wanted to make her his since the first time he saw her, but Millie kept shooting him down. When they get to the wedding venue Hunter proves how badly he wants Millie, and how much he’s been paying attention.
Will Millie let Hunter in enough to make it work, or will their families keep them apart forever? A truly sweet, sexy new story that shows above all family will protect their own, once they have all the facts.
Jess Bryant hit a grandslam with Millie and Hunter’s story, the perfect smart and sexy heroine mixed with an Alpha hero that doesn’t feel the need to leak his testosterone all over the floor. An amazingly sweet love story.
