Imperfect Match is a best friends to lovers story. I like these two authors separately, so together they make quite the duo. Their writing flows effortlessly, and I thought the story was sweet and entertaining. The characters were likeable and just perfect together. Secondary characters were good too. I’m hoping well get Leo or Aspen stories next.
Working in a business where pairing individuals to find love holds a unique set of challenges. Following in her mother’s footsteps, Willow finds that her attempts at matchmaking aren’t turning out like her predecessor. In a last ditch effort to get Willow on track before her mother’s retirement, a challenge is issued with consequences that will alter the course of Willow’s life.
With Willow’s best friend at the forefront of her life, the decision to have Willow make one last attempt at a perfect match isn’t all that unrealistic for her mother. Willow knows that Reid is the bachelor that loves a child-free life, and has no plans of changing that in the coming future. As Willow’s complete opposite, Reid is the ‘unicorn’ that every matchmaker would love to conquer. The only question is who Willow will deem as his perfect match.
Willow and Reid are not your typical best friends. They are opposites in every way, but yet this contrast makes them closer than ever. The two find themselves tangled in the challenge issued by Willow’s mother, with consequences that will lead the two down a tangled road that will change the course of their friendship. The quest that ensues will lead readers on a journey that is witty, light, and full of moments that leave readers smiling at the cute way the authors have interwoven the story plot with all the quirks of matchmaking that you could imagine! Corinne Michaels and Melanie Harlow have dazzled in another joint project that fans of both authors are sure to love!!
I loved Willow and Reid! They are so perfect!
This book was written so well. I felt all the emotions the characters felt! Seriously, ALL. OF. THEM.
I really wish I could give 10 stars, this book more than deserves them.

This is another collaboration from two great authors that is super fun and totally entertaining. It is always a pleasure to read their work and this one had me smiling and swooning at Willow and Reid’s story.
Willow and Reid have been neighbours for the last three years and also best friends. Willow’s parents own a dating agency and she is hoping to take over the reins when they retire. She is the quintessential golden child of loving parents, has a tree-hugging/hippie sister and she’s not wanting for anything except maybe a boyfriend. She just has to prove to them that she is capable of making a successful match but how can she do it when she can’t even find one for herself?
Reid is a successful businessman, happily single and having Willow as his best buddy who cooks for him and keeps him company means he doesn’t really need a girlfriend, right? But when she asks him for a favour suddenly, their uncomplicated relationship becomes complicated. He either has to walk away or make some hard choices if he wants a happy ending with her.
This friends-to-lovers story will tickle your heart. Told in dual points of view, Reid and Willow’s tale is a perfect balance of light-hearted romance mixed in with a little bit of drama to spice it up and not make it a boring read. Willow’s very likeable persona makes her the perfect wife material. Her main goal; however, is in conflict with Reid’s future plans and here lies the problem because with their new relationship she has to make a difficult choice. I totally understood where she was coming from and sympathized with her dilemma and was hoping that she stood firm in her choice which she dealt with in the end, no compromises.
Although Reid is a charming character and the ideal boyfriend, his commitment issues are the biggest stumbling block to their happy ever after. Willow and Reid’s romance is full of funny banter, quirky family members and although the storyline is predictable, this is a very enjoyable read and hard to put down.
Willow and Reid are best friends. They do EVERYTHING together! From movie marathons, dinners on the couch, to shopping for clothes they’re practically inseparable. They’re also total opposites. Willow wants the “whole” package. She wants love, a husband, a family, and a home. While Reid vows never to marry or procreate. Willow is being groomed, unsuccessfully, to take over her mom’s match making business, while Reid is a successful businessman. In a last ditch effort to prove to her mom she can successfully match a couple, she decides to find the perfect match for Reid.
Willow strikes a deal with Reid…he makes an effort to make it work with whomever she sets him up with and he supports her desire to have a child through artificial means. Although Reid struggles with Willow’s decision to use a “turkey baster”, he vows to be supportive. What neither expects is the jealousy they both experience. Even though Reid and Willow know in their minds they’d never work out, they decide to follow their hearts—with disastrous results.
I ugly cried! I generally don’t like to cry when reading as I like to be entertained. This novel was the exception! The witty banter, inside jokes, Willow’s sister’s hippie ways, the recycled clothes, the mooching brother, ALL make this novel such a fantastic read! Melanie and Corinne bring “Friends” to life in a novel. I truly enjoyed everything in this Friends to Lovers story! Epic! I read a gifted copy and all opinions stated are my own.
Reid and Willow are just too cute together. It just took them a little longer to see what they wanted was always in front of them.
5 Perfectly Imperfect Stars!!!
I have to say, first off, that this writing duo of Corinne Michaels and Melanie Harlow are proving to be INCREDIBLE!!! With Imperfect Match, they have become one of THE best writing duos…..ever!!!
Reid and Willow are best friends….they share absolutely everything (well, ALMOST!) They live across the hall from one another and spend pretty much ALL their free time together! When Willow has to find Reid’s “perfect” match through her mother’s dating service in order to save the company, as well as her job, THAT’S when things start becoming dicey…and hilarious, sometimes angsty and emotional. I LOVED how these two seemingly very different people worked out how they could have what they BOTH wanted in the end!
I loved both Reid’s brother, Leo (the slightly more emotionally damaged of the siblings) and Willow’s sister, Aspen (the VERY quirky but lovable character), as well as Willow’s Mom (the dialogue between Willow and her Mom had be laughing out loud on many occasions) that add so much to this truly unforgettable love story!
This glorious, riveting best friends-to-lovers romance is sweet, funny, sexy-as-all-get-out and has just enough angst to make your heart hurt a little….in other words, it’s PERFECTLY imperfect! Just like Reid and Willow! I can’t recommend this one highly enough!
I love best friends to lovers books and this one is probably my favorite! I got a little irritated how both Reid and Willow would get stuck inside their heads with what if’s and their doubts. But I loved them both as friends and even more as a couple. I cried with them and I laughed with them. I’m so glad they got their HEA. I hope we can get a story about Leo and Aspen. That would be awesome!!! What Willow and Reid thought was an Imperfect Match turned into the most perfect match!
Rated 4.5 Stars

This is my first time reading this duo together and I’m quite a fan already. Separately they write brilliantly together its another level.
Reid and Willow have been best friends for a few years, they know everything about each other. With Willow working at her mums dating agency how can her mum not give them a subtle push into seeing what everyone else can see.
Despite being best friends they both want totally different things. Willow wants marriage and children, and Reid doesn’t want kids or believe in marriage. This is a huge difference for them to overcome. They may be the perfect match in everything but this.
This book gave me all the feels. There was times I was literally crying with laughter (Willow would never do well as a spy) to when I wanted to cry with Willow and Reid’s pain.
I cannot wait to see what these brilliant duo bring us next.
What a great friends to more read! Willow and Reid start as best friends, but want more. But first they must overcome some painful obstacles that are in their way. This book will have you cheering for the friends even as it breaks your heart. But Harlow and Michaels have a way of putting the pieces back together again even better than before.
Oh My – I don’t even know where to start for this story, I cried and cried. This story hit so many personal levels of struggle. Willow and Reid are a perfect match but they refuse it. The epilogue made me laugh being 7 months pregnant when I tried on my wedding dress I remember the feelings all too well. Thanks Corrine and Melanie for this fantastic story!!!
WOW… my new favorite co-writers! Love this story! What an amazing love story and chemistry between sweet Reid and determined Willow! However, I would like to have Willow’s sister as a best friend! You can’t forget the supporting roles in a book and this one has the best! LOVE LOVE this story!
3.5 stars
Imperfect Match was the cute, fun, and slightly emotional friends-to-lovers romcom I so desperately needed. When I started reading Willow and Reid’s story, I was coming off three consecutive heart wrenches. This book was a breath of fresh air.
The amazing banter alone made me giddy. I become a total fangirl for good banter. Willow and Reid’s back and forth was everything. These two had such a fabulous connection. It felt natural and real. I couldn’t get enough. I not gonna lie. I’m pretty obsessed with their friendship.
Now, while I did very much like this story, I will say the ending fell a little flat and the conflict was a tad bit repetitive for me. This shouldn’t deter anyone from reading Imperfect Match though. It really was a very enjoyable read. Plus Melanie Harlow and Corinne Michaels together is like a freakin’ dream team.
Imperfect Match is the second book the duo of Melanie Harlow and Corinne Michaels have written together. Two of my fave authors so the excitement of this one was high! I actually didn’t even read the synopsis. I didn’t need to to know that I wanted it. The day it was announced. Lol
Reid and Willow are best friends. Apartment neighbors. They spend almost every night together eating dinner and watching sappy television. They also hit up comic book conventions. Costumes and all. Really, both of them only really enjoy the dinner part. The other parts are only to make the other one happy. That’s what best friends do. They know each other better than themselves. This is why Willow is the one who needs to match Reid with his perfect girl. It’s also to prove to her mom that she could take over the business. You see, Reid doesn’t want a match. And after one kiss? She wishes she didn’t agree to this craziness. She wants him for herself. Except they want different things in the future? And does he even feel the same way about her?
Hell yeah he does. He wants more kisses. More of her. But he can never give her what her heart desires? Are more kisses worth the risk of losing their friendship?
Awe!! This one was actually unexpected. Like I said, I didn’t read the synopsis but I know the authors. Yes, the both do make me laugh but this one was fucking hilarious! I enjoyed every minute of Reid and Willow’s journey. And I hope to get another story from two of the characters. Together. It could be a perfect match.
P.S. Make sure to sign up for the bonus scene!
Quotes:
“Fear does not stop death. It stops life.”
I cock my head. “Where did you hear that? Your last fortune cookie?”
“No. I found it on Pinterest. There’s some really good stuff there.”
“The only thing I want to analyze right now is your naked body.”
“Reid, you’re not serious.”
I smile villainously. “Try me.”
Reid and Willow are the perfect imperfect match!!
Corinne and Melanie bring you a steamy, friends to lovers romance that will keep you hooked from the first page. Great story and awesome characters. I really loved Willow’s sister, Aspen. Reid’s brother Leo is a great side character too.
They are best friends who live across the hall from each other and spend most of their time together. They are the most married, unmarried couple and yet they are just friends.
Willow works at her mother’s matchmaking company and hasn’t had much luck putting matches together. She doesn’t seem to have the gift that her mom and sister do. She doesn’t want her mother to sell the business though, so in a last ditch effort to prove herself, she says she will find Reid his perfect match.
Reid is sexy and charming with an Italian temper that can get him into trouble. He had a hard childhood and never wants to get married or have kids. Willow thinks the right woman will help him see his true worth. Neither have shown romantic feelings toward the other before, but suddenly they can’t stop thinking about each other in a romantic way.
Willow wants a baby even if she has to do it herself, Reid wants Willow but doesn’t want the whole marriage and kids thing. They want different things, but can they make it work together?
I laughed, I swooned, and I smiled! I loved these two characters and their story so much!
Imperfect Match by Melanie Harlow and Corinne Michaels is their second joint project and tells the story of Willow and her best friend Reid.
They make a deal that Willow will find him a match at her matchmaking agency to appease her mother. In return, Willow will put off in vitro fertilization from a sperm bank in order to have the baby she wants.
Underlying all this is the fact that the two truly care for each other, but are afraid to ruin their friendship. When they begin to admit their feelings for one another, it gets complicated. When two people have different upbringings and want different things, can they work it out? This book will lead you to that answer in a wonderful way.
I absolutely adored Reid and Willow. Ms. Harlow and Ms. Michaels bring us a fun, friends to lover’s romance. The extended epilogue was beautiful and I didn’t want the story to end.
I look forward to their next release.
This is such a CHARMING story!
Reid will MELT.YOUR.OVARIES!!!
My god, he is the ultimate book boyfriend, despite a couple of hiccups.
This is one of the best friends to lover stories that I have read. Their banter, their chemistry…. I felt every single bit of it!
Willow, her sister and all of the aura changes had me laughing out loud!!!
Can we get a Leo story please??!?! 🙂
