From NYT Bestseller Corinne Michaels & USA Today Bestseller Melanie Harlow, comes a sexy friends to lovers standalone romance.Rule number one for a professional matchmaker?Don’t fall in love with your client.I screwed that up when I fell for my best friend, Reid Fortino. He’s gorgeous, successful, and sexy as hell. I figured it would be easy to find him a match—and save the family business at … save the family business at the same time.
But the more time I spend attempting to find the perfect girl, the more I realize how much I want him for my own. What’s the harm if we give in for just one night?
I should have known that would never be enough.
Now I’m on the verge of losing my job and my heart.
We were an imperfect match from the start, but I don’t know how to let him go.

Willow and Reid are best friends and do everything together, but they are not romantically involved. Willow’s mom owns a matchmaking business. When she gives Willow the task of finding “the one” for Reid to prove she can take over her mother’s business when she retires, Willow gives it her best shot. What happens next will keep you turning the pages.
Corinne Michaels and Melanie Harlow co-wrote another Fabulous story. It’s got everything you want in a romance. It’s witty, funny, and sexy, but with just the right amount of angst, and nobody died!
I highly recommend Imperfect Match.
4.5*
Reid and Willow! What a match indeed. Friends to lovers romances always find their way into my heart and Imperfect Match was not an exception.
A fun and witty read with a little bit of “ouch” weaved in Reid and Willows journey.
Is anyone perfect? Certainly not these two, yet their match in the end was perfection.
I absolutely adored this “best friends to lovers” story.
Williow and Reid were just meant to end together and have their HEA.They already were, without knowing it, like well oiled machine. They got one each other and could take the other one’s sarcasm.
Except? Their ideas of relationship and marriage couldn’t be more different.
He seemed not to see himself as a husband and father and didn’t want to make his father’s mistakes.
She wanted nothing more than to build a family and have kids.
You see the big elephant in the room?
As always both authors put their hearts in this wonderful story and let me tell you I couldn’t put it down. It’s page turner and warmed my heart with a bit of everything …sass, with and a bit of angst.
I can higly recommend this book to everyone who loves good romance read.
Wow! I am not usually a fan of duo author books but Melanie & Corinne have converted Me. I can not wait for Corinne & Melanie to collaborate on more books.
I loved the story of Reid & Willow.
What would you do if You worked as professional match maker & now have to set up your best friend who you are secretly in love with? Willow is the lucky lady who finds herself in this position.
Reid is willing to do almost anything for His best friend including being setup.
Sometimes love just need an extra push from date & a certain match makers mom to make everything happen.
This book was joy to read. I love HEA!
There are a lot of likeable characters in this book. (And can I just mention I love this book cover!) I don’t read a lot of RomCom at all and this book is definitely more light and funny overall than I’ve read from either of these authors before. I think fans of this type of book will love this one. For me, it kept my interest and kept me reading and wanting know what was next the whole time, which I consider a win. The wrap up was a little quick for me, but it didn’t diminish my enjoyment of the book. Overall, a light, fun read with quirky supporting characters.
I read and reviewed this book voluntarily.
On paper, Reid and Willow shouldn’t be together, but they are perfect….
Sometimes facts are wrong…. Reid and Willow are totally wrong for each other on paper, Willow is organized, and neat, can cook… and wants a family,
Reid is messy, cannot cook and does not want a family.
They are best friends… they shouldn’t be right for eachother…. but maybe they are the imperfect match…
Loved this book. Reid and Willow are imperfect for each other, they can’t see it. Can they get past their how things should be to how they can be?…
This new friends to lovers release by Melanie Harlow and Corinne Michaels is my fave work of this pairing yet!
Imperfect Match is a fresh new standalone about a professional matchmaker and her best friend next door who find that the love they’ve been searching for may be closer than they thought. This book is the second collaboration from authors Melanie Harlow and Corinne Michaels.
The main character, Willow, is a failing matchmaker who isn’t looking for love for herself, but trying to make a successful live match for her clients. The story begins with her mom, the owner of the business, assigning her the task of matching her neighbor and best friend Reid with the perfect client. The whole ordeal is hilarious and endearing.
Enter Reid, her neighbor/BFF. A hot, successful single guy who avoids love like the plague and is skeptical of happily ever after, given his parents rocky history.
The two live across the hall from each other, which makes for some interesting encounters. Especially one night when Reid decides to raid Willow’s fridge when he thinks she isn’t home, and she catches him! Their encounters are hilarious, and the dialogue is steamy and fun.
Melanie Harlow and Corinne Michaels are both successful in this genre, writing true to life character’s with real flaws and fears and weaving a story that endears them to you. Their styles are so similar, that a collaboration like this is bound to be a winner. This story was fantastic and I loved watching these characters develop. Definitely worth the read!
Reid and Willow were downright hilarious!!!!! These best friends were strictly friends with no interest in each other until Willow decided to play matchmaker and find someone for Reid. Reid on the other hand never wanted to be a husband or have kids. Willow was in a mission to change his mind but along the way feelings were developed and they started looking at each other differently. Both had funny siblings but that was it. Willow has amazing parents and Reid didn’t which is why he didn’t want to be a husband or have kids. But then Willow happened and he was stuck. Eventually things were settled between them and the epilogue was just priceless and hilarious. These two were funny from beginning to end.
NO SPOILERS!
Imperfect Match was a sexy, funny, angsty, emotional standalone friends-to-lovers romance, and I absolutely loved it! Corinne Michaels and Melanie Harlow are a phenomenal co-writing duo, and I adored their writing style and the storyline and characters they created. Imperfect Match was fun, engaging, and I didn’t want it to end!
The storyline was fantastic. Corinne Michaels and Melanie Harlow exceeded my expectations, and I completely fell in love with Reid and Willow’s story. Friends-to-lovers is one of my all-time favorite romance tropes, and these two authors knocked it out of the park. I loved Reid and Willow’s journey. It was steamy, funny, and made me laugh, cry, and smile like a fool, but I wouldn’t have changed any of it. The conflict was heartbreaking, but the resolution totally made up for it. Corinne Michaels and Melanie Harlow gave me the happily ever after I so desperately wanted for Reid and Willow, and it definitely put a smile on my face.
The characters were wonderful. I immediately fell head over heels in love with Reid and Willow. I loved their personalities and smoking hot chemistry together, and how their relationship progressed throughout. I loved seeing them go from friends to lovers and everything in between. I loved reading the book from both Reid and Willow’s point of view, and most of their banter and interactions with each other. It wasn’t always easy for them, and there were some rough patches along the way, but I loved Reid, Willow, and their story so much, and was ecstatic with the conclusion. The secondary characters were also amazing, and I loved the humor and quirkiness they added to the story.
Imperfect Match was an absolute MUST READ love story from Corinne Michaels and Melanie Harlow! Reid and Willow’s journey was full of heat, heart, humor, emotions, and swoon, and I would HIGHLY recommend it! Michaels and Harlow are two of my favorite contemporary romance authors, and I can’t wait to devour whatever they release next, both individually and together!
Such a great story that checked all the boxes for me! Imperfect Match is a friends to lovers, romance and is the second co-written book by authors Corinne Michaels and Melanie Harlow.
Willow is an aspiring matchmaker with hopes of taking over the family business but she can’t seem to find her clients that perfect match. Reid is her best friend and decides to let her find him a match. But, what neither one of them realize is that they just might be each other’s forever.
I absolutely fell in love with this story and it’s characters. Willow and Reid are so playful and fun. They know each other so well that there romance seems inevitable. I highly recommend this book and any thing written by these two amazing authors.
Imperfect Match by Corinne Michaels and Melanie Harlow was just so much fun to read. I laughed and smiled so much while reading this story. When I was done, I was just left happy and content. The characters were just so likable, their story was so freaking charming and I just loved their journey together. These two authors are amazing in their own right and together they are just fabulous.
I just loved Reid and Willow so much. They were best friends that were almost like an old married couple. They knew everything about each other and did just about everything together. They were just so comfortable together. Then one day Willow’s mother informs her she wants to sell the business. The match-making business where Willow struggles to match people and yet she does not want her mother to sell it or worse, work for her nutty, but sweet sister.
Reid has always known he was not the relationship kind of guy. The only example he had as a child was not a good one. He likes the way things are. But one day, one look, one touch something changes. Now they are sharing looks and feelings they never expected. But in order to save the family business, Willow needs to find Reid a match. And so, begins their insanely wonderful journey!
I cannot begin to express how much I just loved reading Imperfect Match by Corinne Michaels and Melanie Harlow. This was an absolutely sweet and charming friends-to-lovers story. Neither character was perfect, but together they were perfectly imperfect. This is a must-read for sure!
Read and reviewed for Sultry Sirens Book Blog.
Happy reading!
Experiencing life with your best friend is a blessing. So is sharing your dreams. But when time catches up with you – moving on to the next stage of your life may not always include your best friend. Thus is the charged and perplexing story of Willow and Reid.
Melanie Harlow and Corinne Michaels come together to create a friends-to-lovers story that is like no other. I absolutely adored the relationship between these two. In their friendship they found familiarity and comfort. And in those recognizable feelings, something electric, scary yet exciting lay right beneath the surface. Their story is arousing, breathtaking and was not without heart wrenching moments. Realizations and coming-to-terms moments left me with a tear soaked face and an empty box of tissues.
This Harlow-Michaels collaboration is ingenious. Their writing styles meld so well together, I wasn’t able to tell where one ended and the other began. This story is the quintessential friends-to-lovers with its own brand of heat, spark and the most searing burn of anticipation. It’s a story to gorge on for sure.
This was a very sweet read between two friends that are in denial of their true feelings. Their banter and chemistry was fun and I loved the hot chemistry they shared. The hero is scared of real commitment and the hero wants to it all. She’s not going to let anyone stand in her way when it comes to having everything she’s ever wanted.
You’ll have to read the book if you want all the feels Reid and Willow have to offer.
Willow needs to prove to her mother that she can be a great matchmaker and ready to take over the company. What better way to prove to herself than take her best friend Reid as a client? It’s perfect, right?
What a fun and sexy read! I was hooked from page #1. Willow and Reid are amazing! I absolutely love these two. Willow is so quirky and sweet. Reid is sexy as hell and determined. Their journey was so much fun to experience. I loved every word! An absolute MUST READ!!
Reid and Willow- best friends to lovers to how do they make it work when they want different things…. Melanie Harlow and Corinne Micheals do a great job writing these couple.
This book makes you laugh and feel good and breaks your heart a bit as Willow and Reid find a way to happily ever after. All the characters are great throughout the book! I loved Aspen Willow’s sister and their relationship as well as Reid and his brother Reid.
I couldn’t put this book down. It flowed really well and it’s a story of loving people no matter what and seeing the best in people even when they don’t see it themselves!!
A perfectly imperfect match!
I can’t believe I had to close this book, because I can’t believe it’s over already! I want more from them, I want everything!
Reid and Willow stole my heart for so many reasons.
Their relationship was so strong and solid. They were perfect for each other in many levels. They were each other’s person and they deserved their spot.
But what they never realized (or were too afraid to aknowledge) was that they could be even more than that, more than best friends, more than connected souls, more than each other’s person, more than love of their lives.
They could be a perfectly imperfect match !!
“How did I not see just how his imperfections make him perfect for me?”
At one point, they considered themselves Rachel and Ross. But even though I loved them, I beg to differ. They were more than Rachel and Ross, with all their “we were on a break” issues and back-and-forth relationship.
No. They were Mondler through and through!
Follow me on this: the hero had crazy parents (although I liked Chandler’s), while the heroine had loving ones. They were best friends for a long time, they knew each other’s likes and dislikes, their flaws and good qualities, they compromised, they cared for each other, they made fun of each other, they trusted and supported each other, they argued, they made up, and then, when they least expected, they were starting something new none of them ever thought about!
And when they did start it, they had some serious commitment issues to deal with, but at the end, they grew together and were willing to go all for it!
Monica and Chandler has been captivating me since 1994. And now Reid and Willow are doing the same, and my heart is so full.
“Willow Hayes, my best friend, my love, my everything”
I loved the plot and how the secondary characters were also fundamental for the development, but they never stole the main characters’s thunder.
(And since we are on that, I do hope we have something about Aspen and Leo….maybe even together, if they’re not too crazy to be a couple).
Another thing that I loved is that they respected each other, they appologized, they tried again, they supported, but they were never painted as perfect. And one beautiful point: no matter how much Wills and Reid loved each other, she never backed out from her dreams, from her identity, from her self respect.
She was so strong for making her choices and following her dreams, and I think that was the main reason that made Reid starts to respect himself and see what a wonderful man he was.
They were a match made on Earth (on an agency, to be more exact), but blessed in heaven.
I adore Reid and Willow’s story – it’s fun and sweet and sexy blended with just the right touch of suspenseful emotions. It’s the perfect story you’ll want to read again and again.
This Book is so absolutely amazing. I love Corinne Michaels and Melanie Harlow. Perfect friends to lovers romance. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book.
Fun. Cute. Adorable
I automatically fell in love with these characters, right from the 1st chapter. Once I started I couldn’t put it down.
Reid and Willow are soo GREAT together. I FLOVE their friendship, the banter, how comfortable they felt with each other. Willow’s mom had me cracking up and her relationship with Reid was just too cute!!! Reid’s brother and Willow’s sister add to this wonderful experience.
Imperfect Match is full of amazing characters. I love them ALL!
Reading this felt almost like I was watching it. Entertainment in every page Friends to Lovers… LOVE IT
**4.5 Stars**
This book sucked me in from the beginning. I really enjoyed both Willow and Reid as characters and enjoyed their banter, and reading all about their easy and close friendship. Even the secondary characters in this book were interesting, adding more depth and fun to the story.
Imperfect Match is a fun, flirty, sexy, angsty, emotional, roller coaster ride of a book. Parts of this book were light and comical, whereas other parts were sad, raw and heartbreaking.
In the end Willow and Reid get their HEA and I absolutely loved the ending. My one issue was that with all the back and forth at times and with some really deep and engrained beliefs on Reid’s part, that all of a sudden there was a rapid shift and it seemed maybe too abrupt in my opinion. But otherwise I really enjoyed these characters and this story and OMG this cover is gorgeous!!!
