I ended up really enjoying it. Willow rubbed me the wrong way a bit. How on earth would she want to run a matchmaking company if she didn’t really believe in finding a match herself? And her insistence that they could remain together while she have IUI and raise a baby but not include him seemed a bit unrealistic. Thank goodness Reid was awesome and finally saw he error of his ways. Great epilogue!
Funny, sexy, and entertaining, Imperfect Match makes for a great beach read. Willow and Reid are best friends and neither is looking for a relationship, but Reid reluctantly agrees to let Willow find him a match. Willow is smart, determined, organized, and a great cook. Reid is smart, sexy, charming, and looks after his brother. They banter and spend all of their time together, but they are thrown to realize there might some chemistry and they want to cross that line. Imperfect Match has banter, friendship, crazy family, conflict, humor, and heat. Corinne Michaels and Melanie Harlow created an entertaining cast of characters in Reid and Willow’s families.
This isn’t my favorite book by these 2 authors but it still was a cute book. I enjoyed it. It was funny and had some sexy scenes. The only thing that I didn’t care for was how the 2 leads went from 0 to 100 in 2.5 seconds. It’s your classic best friends to lovers trope that’s one of my favorites. I just wish they would’ve had more of a build up. A slower burn so to speak. The hero & heroine had been best friends for like 20 years then all of a sudden after one encounter with the heroine in a towel they were hot for each other. Besides that, I really liked the book. I laughed out loud at a few points. It’s a good choice if you’re looking for a light and quick read.
When two of my favorite authors teamed up and wrote this story I may have jumped for joy. I love best friends to lovers stories and this one did not disappoint. Reid and Willow make me smile and laugh out loud. I think some of the best relationships start out as friends and turn into forever love and these two describe that perfectly. This story is sexy and the witty banter had me laughing out loud. Corinne and Melanie created the perfect blend of angst and sweet and savory romance with this story and I could not put it down. Michaels and Harlow are amazing authors apart, but they are spectacular together because they make a perfect match.
Imperfect Match is another great collaboration from Melanie Harlow and Corinne Michaels. Reid and Willow’s story was fun, sweet and emotional. Definitely one to read!
Such a fun read. A friends to lovers story. This story has it all. The organized and not so good at dating Willow works at the family business, none other than a matchmaking business. Her family is the epitome of quirky but lovable. Reid is a driven marketing exec who is determined not to make the same mistakes his father did. In doing so, he is a serial dater, commitment-phobe with a freeloading, insecure brother, an alcoholic mother and cheating father.
So how does this couple get together? BFFs who do everything together until that one charged moment changes their lives forever. It’s not easy when you’ve got families such as Willow and Reid, but they find their way eventually. And that ending? Classic. Enter the eccentric sister and the comic book store employee turned comedian brother. And most importantly, Don’t forget Peter Parker and Stan Lee.
Friends-to-lovers is my favorite trope and since I love both Corrine Michaels and Melanie Harlow, I knew this book would be amazing. Reid Fortino and Willow Hayes were the best of friends navigating their next step. They were witty, real, and unfiltered with mutual respect and adoration for one another. They didn’t play games and truly enjoyed each other’s company which was so fun to read.
They loved each other unconditionally and their relationship naturally unfolded. I loved how well they knew each other, how they viewed each other’s faults as adorable, and how they would compromise. And through it all, their sexual tension turned into crazy sexy liaisons which burned up the pages!
But what unfolded throughout the second half of the book really tore at my heartstrings because they both envisioned a different future and came to an impasse. They were honest and vulnerable, and realized that sometimes love is not enough.
This book was so well written and told in dual point of view. It will have you holding your breath as you read page after page hoping these two best friends and lovers can come to a resolution and have their own HEA. I especially loved when Reid went all alpha and made it known in no uncertain terms that she was the woman for him! Swoon!
They both had different upbringings and expectations, and really listened to each other to try and explain their point of view. But do not fear, this is a rom com after all, and the ending and bonus epilogue will have you smiling ear to ear. I love stories where the couple doesn’t play games, can self-reflect, and ask for forgiveness, and this book has it all!
Melanie Harlow and Corinne Michaels did it again. They wrote a beautiful story that will melt your heart. I couldn’t put it down. This cover!!!! –Swoon*** This cover matches perfectly the story of Willow and Reid and trust me it only gets better as you turn the pages and you will be hooked.
When Willow decides to help Reid , she did not expect to see her best friend differently. As a result this makes her job complicated as how is she supposed to find him the perfect girl if she has feelings for him?!
The authors gave us a story full of flirty exchanges and sexual tension between Willow and Reid and we are desperate for them to get their HEA. The chemistry and attraction is vibrating. TRUST ME WHEN IS SAY THAT IMPERFECT MATCH has all the feels you want – entertaining, funny, sexy, swoony, a bit of angst and a touch of drama.
The incredible chemistry, the flirty banters, the beautiful touching romance combined with the writing that is simply flawless has made this book the best friends to lovers story I read this year! I LITERALLY could not put it down for the life of me.
Once again this magic duo has wooed me with their words and characters. I LOVE the banter between them, I adore their vulnerability, their bond and last but not least I doted on how they get each other.
IMPERFECT MATCH has it all!
Very cute best friends to lovers romance. There are some really funny scenes and a cast of entertaining secondary characters. The end wraps up kind of quickly but an all around fun read.
I absolutely love when Me l.j anie Harlow and Corinne Michael’s introduce a new book. Its sure to be a page Turner, well this book did not disappoint. I fell in love with Williw and holy hell Reid too. I couldn’t put this book down. It had me from the cover, truly. The one liners and comebacks had me laughing out loud and turning the pages. I absolutely love their writing style and cannot to see what comes next. ENJOY YOU ALL, I KNOW I DID!
There is something about this author duo that makes me instantly purchase this book. Each of the authors individually are some of my favorites, add them together and I know I’m going to love whatever words they give to us. Imperfect Match is no different and once I started, I couldn’t stop until the book was finished. This book was full of chemistry and the whole friends to lover thing totally sucks me in. Every. Single. Time. Reid and Willow are probably two of my favorite characters of 2019 and I can’t help but love how sweet they are. Watching them figure out that they are falling for each other makes this story super sweet and you can’t help but love it.
This book was such a breath of fresh air. It has all the wonderful things about a friends to lovers romance without all the drama and angst. Don’t get me wrong, I love all the angst I can get, but this was a pleasant surprise. Reid and WIllow have the kind of friendship that rivals one of those we see in our favorite sitcoms like Friends or WIll and Grace. They love hanging out, being around each other and are literally involved in every aspect of each other’s lives except sexual. Until something clicks and it will never be the same. You will enjoy funny, lol moments, wallow in some of the sad moments, and enjoy every aspect of this amazing story. The cast of characters involved in this book are realistically developed and make the story that much more enjoyable. You will become vested in the outcome and pray there will be a sequel with Willow’s sister, Aspen and Reid’s brother
Who can resist a friends-to-lovers romance? Not me, that’s for sure, and, ‘Imperfect Match,’ by writing duo Melanie Harlow and Corinne Michaels is absolutely delicious. A very pretty, easy on the mind kind of read… I really enjoyed this enchanting, sweet romance that truly blossoms beautifully throughout. It develops into a very pretty story that was ideal reading company on my recent holiday.
Reid Fortino is gorgeous, sexy, intelligent and witty, the perfect romantic hero. Readers looking for love will want their very own Reid Fortino. Willow is the heroine of our story and best friend of Reid. It becomes her responsibility to find Reid his perfect female match. She’s determined but soon discovers that she may want him for herself, putting her job and heart at risk and this is where the story begins to flourish providing all the swoony feels I love in an easy read romance.
From the beginning it’s clear where this story will take the reader, there are no surprises, which to be honest, made it the perfect read for me whilst I was in holiday mode. The protagonists both have back stories and a family history that has shaped their thoughts and feelings, providing just the right amount of depth for this light and breezy romance that is low on angst and high on love. It’s super swooney, sweet, and effortless to engage with. If a light, easy breezy cute read is what you’re in the mood for, this story is totally delightful and would probably be just what the doctor ordered!

Melanie Harlow and Corinne Michaels illustrate the tight friendship between Reid and Willow right from the start of their story, and it’s made clear just how close they are, how well they know each other, and how easily they get along even with their contrasting personalities.
The matchmaker twist to the story line is an interesting one because it’s supposed to be a way for Willow to prove that she can find Reid his perfect match – the woman who he would gladly give up his bachelorhood for – but that’s easier said than done because as Willow gets the process underway, the push and pull between these two best friends begins to redefine what they mean to each other, but where that leaves them does nothing but complicate things even further because they see their lives playing out in very different ways, meaning that if they can’t find a way to meet in the middle, things will be over between them before they even really get started. I truly didn’t know how they would work through their issues and figure out a way to be together as more than the friends they started as and to be honest, it seemed to resolve itself way easier than I thought it would given their differing viewpoints.
I always find friends-to-lovers’ stories interesting to read, especially when it’s two people who have been good friends for awhile and have never allowed themselves to see beyond the platonic love they share. I’m always curious to understand when and how things changed for one or both of them and how much they had to weigh the pros and the cons of altering the dynamics of their friendship for something that could make or break things between them.
Willow and Reid’s story is an entertaining friends-to-lovers’ romance that has a great cast of supporting characters to help spur the hero and heroine into action as well as help them to realize how perfect they are as best friends but also how imperfectly perfect they are as more.

Imperfect Match is a new standalone romantic comedy from Corinne Michaels and Melanie Harlow. Funny, sweet and sexy. Reid and Willow have been neighbors and best friends for the last three years. They know everything there is to know about one another. So, when Willow’s mother decides to retire from her matchmaking business, she needs Willow to prove herself worthy of taking over the business. And to prove herself, her mother wants her to find a match for Reid. Easy right? Wrong.
As things begin to unfold, you can’t help but laugh at the shenanigans between Willow and her sister, Aspen. Not to mention Reid’s brother, Leo. I found myself laughing out loud on several occasions and cheering these two on as they deal with the sudden feelings they find are wreaking havoc on their lives. Also, I kinda want Aspen to read my aura lol. Imperfect Match is another great story from Michaels and Harlow and highly recommended.

“I need you on my side for the rest of my life, and if I open myself up to you, and you decide I’m not what you want, I’ll never recover. It’s not worth the risk.”
Friends to lovers…is it worth risking a great friendship for a possible romance? What if it’s not your soulmate and you lose your best friend? What if you could end up with your best friend for life as soulmates? What would you do?
This book will have you laughing, crying, frustrated, cheering and squirming in your seat. Get comfy and dive in…you won’t be able to put it down until the end.
I received an ARC in return for an honest review. I’m not gonna lie I wasn’t feeling this story in the beginning. The deal Willow and Reid made seemed so ridiculous. Willow basically is forcing him into having a relationship and hopefully marriage, which he doesn’t want, and he is trying to stop her from having a baby by herself. It just seemed like such important topics to try and control for another person. Getting past that I definitely felt their connection and was excited when they finally gave in and got together.
A friends to lovers romance that will give you all the feels!! A must read!
Imperfect Match was a perfect collaboration between Corinne Michaels and Melanie Harlow! Reid and Willow are are everything I want from a couple in the best friends trope, and I enjoyed their story immensely!
Willow is a not-so-successful matchmaker. Her mom wants to sell the business, but Willow doesn’t want to lose the company. Especially since she wants to have a baby, pronto. Her mom gives her one more chance to make a match for someone: hot neighbor/best friend Reid. But Willow really has her work cut out for her because while Reid is a great guy, his family background has led him to be a total commitaphobe who never wants to get married or have kids. But Reid agrees to give Willow six months to set him up in exchange for her putting off her plans for a becoming a single mom via artificial insemination. Or, as he puts it, galactic.
As Willow sets out to find Reid his perfect match, things start to shift in their own relationship. While they’ve always found the other attractive, their friendship was never something that either of them was willing to sacrifice. That is, until fighting their feelings become futile. But what kind of future can Willow and Reid really have if her greatest desire is the one thing that he is dead-set against doing?
Reid and Willow kind of reminded me of Nate and Emme from Melanie Harlow’s Only You — another couple I aboslutely adored. They had that same kind of best friends/neighbors vibe. The stories are totally different, of course, but they had that same easygoing friendship and segued nicely into a romantic relationship. There is built-in conflict over the marriage and kids issue, but Willow and Reid navigate it well, and he slays his dragons and comes back for his maiden in a magnificent way!
I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.
The writing duo is a perfect match, kinda like the two main characters!!!
I love friends to lovers books, it’s such a fun genre when good friends are like oh wait, my friend is smoking hot…like there’s always been so much love but it becomes more. Reid and Willow have amazing banter, chemistry, their sibling are fantastic…I loved that Reid discovered his worth and sweet Willow got what she always wanted…highly recommend this read! The authors never let us down, great book!
