Born into a prominent ranching family and brought up in a disciplined household, Sheriff Jared Monroe has high standards of how to live his life and he doesn’t hesitate to hold the people around him to the same accountability.
Misty Foster is a girl from the wrong side of the tracks. Her mother slept her way through the men in town and everyone thinks Misty has followed in her mother’s … mother’s footsteps. If they knew the truth they’d be more than shocked.
One blustery, snowy night Jared and Misty do something completely uncharacteristic—they throw caution to the wind and fan the flames of their passion. Now there’s a third person to consider. An innocent baby is on the way and when Jared finds out, he instantly steps forward to do the right thing. Unfortunately, Misty doesn’t agree with his future plans.
What’s a no nonsense sheriff to do now that he’s met his match?

Good book. Kept interest.
Loved it!
Misty had a rough childhood with an alcoholic mother and no friends. She is a painter and is about to move to Seattle. She is driving home and sees a man sitting on a bench in front of a bar, in freezing weather. Jared is the Sheriff and after his father wrecked his atv, he learns he has Alzheimer’s. Misty takes him home and they kiss but Misty leaves. Jared gives her a ride home after her car breaks down and the weather turns bad so he stays. They have a one night stand because she’s leaving and nothing will change her mind. Until she gets pregnant and Jared wants to do the right thing and marry her. Misty wants marriage to a man who loves her but does move in with Jared. They slowly fall in love. Jared has found someone who won’t let him boss them around and Misty found someone who doesn’t care about what the town thinks of her.
Great story with sex, action, and suspense. I love the characters and the storyline. A story you can get lost in.
Quite a mix of emotions running through this engaging story. A hero and heroine that are total opposites yet attracted to each other find that they are everything the other needs in their life. Now if they can just get past their own issues to find each other.
Best part of the story was seeing how the town “perfect” family was actually as messed up and normal as everyone else in town.
I loved it I need a Jared
Wonderful
Was a good read. Well put written hard to put down.
I enjoyed the book, but I thought adding references to spanking and kinky sex didn’t fit the characters or the story. It seemed to be an attempt to be edgy when it wasn’t necessary.
It was a good book
Liked the characters, met others in Sherriff group in another book
