“Perfectly imperfect characters and situations make Frame’s debut novel sparkle…there’s a very real sense of character growth, brought to life by an evolving narrative style that parallels Lucy’s metamorphosis. The blend of humor and heart makes for a thoughtful, highly entertaining read.” –Publishers WeeklyLucy London puts the word genius to shame. Having obtained her PhD in microbiology by … microbiology by the age of 20, she’s amassed a wealth of knowledge, but one subject still eludes her – people. The pendulum of passions experienced by those around her confuses and intrigues her, so when she’s offered a grant to study emotion as a pathogen, she jumps on the opportunity.
Enter Jensen Walker, Lucy’s neighbor and the one person she finds appealing. Jensen’s life is the stuff of campus legend: messy, emotional, and complicated. Basically, the perfect starting point for Lucy’s study. When her tenaciousness wears him down and he consents to help her, sparks fly. To her surprise, Lucy finds herself battling with her own emotions, as foreign as they are intense. With the clock ticking on her deadline, Lucy must decide what’s more important: analyzing her passions…or giving in to them?

This book was such a delight! Nerdy and sweet and funny! Reminded me a little of Penny Reid, but with its own unique twist. Highly recommend!
Pretty genius story of an intelligent girl and a loving man!
I stumbled upon this book by complete accident and now it’s one of my go to rereads when I need something light, sweet and fun. I don’t normally enjoy New Adult romances. There’s so much angst and drama and let’s face it, what eighteen-twenty year olds are really falling for forever these days? Maybe I’m a pessimist but it takes a great story for …
A truly unique read! Quirky characters + chemistry = win! Loved this story and the laughter it brought to my life! A delightful read.
Definitely a different heroine & I thoroughly enjoyed her!
GREAT STORY AND CHARACTERS – DEFINATELY RECOMMEND
Hilarious! Loved it!
This was a fun read. I liked how relatable the characters were. I also really liked the quotes that were picked out at the beginning of each chapter.
3.5
It’s a little silly but not too. Nerdy twenty year old PhD in Microbiology & Immunology with no emotional understanding of people. She is more comfortable in the lab than with people cute read. It did bug me a bit that her PhD and her work do not correlate. A microbiologist would not be a counselor and studying emotions. Maybe if her …
This is a very good story telling how hard it is for children to be told how they would live their lives as adults. Struggles are tough but the fight is worth it in the end loved this book
Liked it so much that l looked for a way to read the next book in the series.
Totally adorkable! I usually avoid rom-coms because the heroine gets herself into cringe-worthy situations, but not here. Imagine Mr. Spock from Star Trek stuck in the body of a 20-year old female post-doctorate student studying emotions. You’ll root for Lucy as she tries to figure out her peers, her research project, and the guy next door.
I guess you’d have to call this a slow burn romance. Lucy started at the university at 13-years-old so you can pretty much say she grew up there. She has never felt as if she fit in anywhere and she finds it difficult to relate to others about anything that isn’t Science, she keeps herself distant from people and basic human emotions. Through a …
I was entertained from the very first page. It would make a great movie.
My favorite part of the book was the trip home for Thanksgiving. Hilarious!!! This is not a lengthy read, less than 200 pages, but it was worth my time.
Fun read!
Laughed out loud, often!
This is as funny as promised. I fell in love with each of the characters! I had fun reading it. I was rooting for them! I would love to continue to see how her research progresses and impacts Chloe and Freya … who deserve the best!
I enjoyed reading this well-written book. I will definitely read more by this author!
4 Nerd Stars. This was a new author to me. But after reading the first page and scientific theories and stats were referred to no less than four times I knew this was going to be fun.
Lucy London is a child prodigy, a genius. Like most geniuses, she has trouble relating to the average person. She’s socially awkward, to say the least. She’s trying …
Loved this book! Lucy is so cute, and I loved Jensen! It is hard for a book to get me to smile, but I was smiling constantly with a lot of things that Lucy would say an do. I highly recommend this one!
