Every action has an equal and opposite reaction.Rhea Strathmore creates death. Locked within her laboratory at The Arsenal, she concocts whatever’s necessary to protect those around her. Everything has a price.
Fallon Graves defies death with every assignment. He may have traded in his lone operative lifestyle for The Arsenal, but that doesn’t mean he’s a team player. He’s survived his entire life with no one. Why should he change? When Rhea’s past threatens The Arsenal, Fallon is forced to question everything he’s valued. She’s a liability in the field, but he’s not about to let anyone harm the woman who’s more dangerous than any explosive he’s ever created.

This book was great! It starts off where Battle Scars left off. This book kept me reading till all hours of the night I just couldn’t put it down. At one point I had to so I could catch my breath! This book has suspense, action, twists and turns and all the emotions hat you need. Loved the interaction of Rhea and Fallon. Cara Carnes know how to write a great series!
This series owns me so when I got into this one I wanted to savor every bit of this one. Fallon will enter in with a background bit on how he gets with The Arsenal then we go right into where things left off. This one focuses more on Fallon and Rhea but others are not forgotten and have a large part in this one. How this author does that is how I like a one to unfold giving me more pieces of ones that I know well with getting to more well. Through the events that take place in this one you will be pulled to the edge more than once. She does more than once squeeze us tight in this with many elements. The odd times too they seem to have their children make this unique. The chemistry each couple has could melt any nuclear trouble that came their way. So when the trouble comes after one of theirs the united front goes forth pulling us with them.
I have been immensely enjoying the Arsenal series. I had no idea that it was Rhea’s story when I opened Impact Zone or Fallon’s. Their backgrounds hit me out of the park. This story was so much the suspense story with its twists, the bad guys, and the really good guys. Not to mention the fun weapons. And yet behind the story is the strength of the family that Arsenal brings. It gets stronger with each couple. The way that Rhea and Fallon make it work was perfect. While this is a series, I felt there was enough information that you wouldn’t lose out if you read just this one and then caught up with the others in the series. Yes, there are things that got us to this point. But you will want to get the other books anyways. So just grab and go.
From almost the very first page I was holding my breath with this one. Rhea doesn’t go on missions, her comfort zone is her lab. Fallon knows this too, and he isn’t pleased when he’s told she has to go in order to identify bio-chemicals that are hazardous. Chemicals that she had created years ago and not with the intent Carlisle has for them.
They have gone over the plan repeatedly and although she’s ready, Fallon’s still skeptical and confronts Edge one more time, to no avail.
Rhea’s nervous, but Bree also has her back. Unknown to the others she has included a few extra items in Rhea’s backpack, just in case.
Taking down Carlisle is a complicated move and the planning has to include several different back-ups.
Throughout everything, Fallon has Rhea’s back and to his surprise she has his. She cares about him and it’s evident on every page.
These two are a bit frustrating in their dance even as the danger and suspense ramps up.
I couldn’t put this book down, the hold your breath action, plenty of suspense, laughter, tears and the romance that is both frustrating and perfect as it makes its way to a sizzle.
I can’t wait for the next book in this series!
Impact Zone is another highly charged book in the continuation of this awesome series The Arsenal. The opening scene of this book sets the tone that continues throughout this book. It gave the reader an insight to Fallon Graves’ character that shaped him into the man and leader that he is. Unlike the other teams in The Arsenal group, Fallon’s team are made up of lone wolves who aren’t use to working as a team. Their dynamics are totally different but we see in this book how they slowly come together, I have to admit that there were moments when I thought they wouldn’t make it as a team.
I love both Fallon and Rhea, they’re perfectly suited for each other. We’ve read the tension between these two in previous books and as a reader, I couldn’t wait to see how their relationship unfolds. Rhea is brilliant scientist, her character was well written and she’s truly likeable and funny at the same time. I love her interaction with the other members of Fallon’s team.
The story was well paced, I didn’t feel bored. Infact, it was quite suspenseful and there were moments that I thought our H/h wouldn’t make it because the bad guys just keep getting the upperhand. Impact Zone is another winner and another highly recommended book. Do read the books in order otherwise you might not be able to fully experience and appreciate this series.
This is the sixth book and “The Arsenal” series. The book centers around Fallon and Rhea, however we do get info about past characters in this series (which I love).
Rhea is the brilliant scientists behind the Arsenal along with Bree her best friend, they create the weapons to keep the operatives safe. Fallon is the lone wolf of the Arsenal, he feels indebted to Mary aka The Edge for coming to his rescue in the past. These two have been tip toeing around eachother forever and when Rhea’s past comes back and she becomes a liability for the Arsenal, Fallon will stop at nothing to keep her safe.
I really enjoyed this book. It was well written with an interesting storyline that will keep you turning the pages. The characters are well-developed, intriguing and have amazing chemistry. There was plenty of emotions, suspense, danger, action, twists/turns and love. This is definitely a must read for anyone who enjoys reading romantic suspense, but I do recommend that you start reading the series from the beginning with Mary and Dylan’s book “Jagged Edge” you won’t be disappointed!
I received an advanced readers copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a honest review.
Fallon Graves is a lone wolf, a solo operator or was until The Edge saved his life now he runs a group of former merc’s for The Arsenal. He’s never had a home until now. Rhea Strathmore is brilliant. She enables The Arsenal operatives including Fallon and his team to do the job. But when trouble from Rhea’s past creates problems for the The Arsenal they are all going to have to pull together as a team to save the world. No room for lone wolves.
I absolutely fell for Fallon and Rhea. These two damaged souls are the perfect balm for each other. I love that the author normalizes mental health care. This is an exciting thrill ride that will leave you with a happy heart.
Loved Fallon and Rhea’s story
Impact Zone picks up where Battle Scars left off. This is not a stand alone series. Need to read the books in order as the over all story line progresses through each book.
Carlise Industry is the next op and Fallon and his team are being sent in, with an addition. Dr Rhea Strathmore, Doc to Fallon, and he does not what her in he field. Reha and Bree’s work from collage has been stolen, by Rhea’s college boyfriend. She is needed on site to deal with any chemical or biological weapons’s found. Tucson is the next target. Cuba is on hold.
Fallon Graves is a loaner, ordnance specialist, he was not military trained. He was contracted with HIVE, and when Edge, was taken and rescued, he fallowed her to Arsenal. He owes her his life, his loyalty is to her alone and would follow her anywhere. Doc is a part of that. She also has kept his team in whatever they need to get the job done, no judgement, no questions, asked. She belongs in her lab, doing what she does best. Where she is safe.
Dr Rhea Strathmore is beside herself for her blind trust in Stan Carlise. Her college boyfriend, who stole so much from her and Bree. Who know some much about her. Things that even her best friends don’t know. What he has stolen has put her Arsenal Family in danger and it is up to her to fix it. She is not a field operative. Fallon does not want her on his team.
Fallon’s team is like himself, loan wolves, all with training outside the military, except for his second, Donovan. He sees the benefit of the military training in the other teams. To keep Doc safe, his team needs to learn to do the same.
Fallon and Rhea have been circling each other since they met. Working so close together, Fallon can no longer keep himself distant. His team is already protecting her like one of their own. Confronting Carlise brings things to light that Rhea has never shared with the women closest to her. Fallon shares some of the secrets of his past. He begins to see himself as part of the Arsenal family and not just a contract operative.
Rhea and Bree’s past continue to come back on them. They are up against the Mandrake Group, a block ops organization who is using Rhea and Bree’s stolen tech. And a hacker that is giving Mary and the back office team a run for the money.
Baby Jenson makes her appearance at the worst time.
Fallon’s team along with Rhea and Dallas are taken. Alexis, Levi’s sister, steps up to help.
Rhea and her family have a long over due heart to heart.
An unexpected betrayal, has the Arsenal reevaluating the jobs they are taking.
Mandrake is a problem they will have to deal with soon. Russia first.
Reilly is poking the bear that is Dom DeMarco.
Bree is on the edge.
They still have teams in Russia, dealing with the Carlise problem.
Loved Fallon and Rhea’s story. Fast paced and a little steamy. Can’s wait to see what happens next. Looks like Russia, Addy, Nolan and Marshal, working with Kristof. Love Reilly and Dom, can’t wait to see what happens with that. Love this series. Have already pre-ordered the book. I was lucky to receive an advanced copy, this is my honest review.
Dirtier than you’ve ever imagined…
Rhea’s past comes back to haunt her in every way possible with….
…dirty tactics….
….dirty bombs…
….dirty chemicals….
….and dirty kidnappings.
Thank god the king of dirty operations, Fallon, is there to protect her with his dirty playbook….although they both may get distracted with ….dirty thoughts…..dirty talking….and sexy dirty loving.
Rhea and Fallon balance each other out I think. They have both had it rough in different ways. There’s plenty of action, secrets reveled and protectiveness most the alphas exude when they find the woman made for them. Fallon is dead set she doesn’t go on a mission with them, but what was stolen was made from what she does. I liked the ending where the author put snipets of the story she left out. The sky diving part was great. EXCELLENT READ.
