Immortal: Guardian of Monsters by Kristin Ping is a wonderful story to run. This is a wonderful new start to a brand new series, this one is about a vampir with a very special gift. Trust when I say you are gonna love this story so if you buy it you will not be disappointed and I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves vampirs with a twist.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
To be turned into a vampire and then have the powers of a vampire and also channel fire. Then to have a cool name like blaze attached to you. Everyone fears you and more. I recommend it. I was given a review copy by booksprout and voluntarily review it.
When Natasha was turned she lost all her memories of her previous life, but she did develope the ability to wield fire. The vampire that turns her uses her as a weapon. Natasha decides to leave the the coven, but her coven leader, and for a long time lover, is not known for being selfless or particularly loving, and may not let her go easily.
Wow, fascinating, complex, and dark characters. A plot with a lot of violence, many unexpected twists and some dark romance, these love stories do not end with a happily ever after. I loved this book, I think it is a fantastic must read.
I am voluntarily leaving an honest and non-incentivized review of this ARC.
Natasha must become a vampire. She won’t tell anyone why. The stoy follows Natasha “Blaze” through her life as a vampire. We also see Natasha through her friend, Sonia, as the story moves back and forth from the present to the past. This was an amazing story with wonderful characters. I am looking forward to seeing what comes next in the series. The cover is really beautiful in a dark and scary way!
I was gifted an ARC in return of an honest review.
This book puts an an amazing twist on the world of vampires , werewolves, witches etc. There are witches who were turned to vampires, potions to allow werewolves controller there change, and a unique vampire with the ability of fire, her name is Blaze. Her ability make her feared by all but her sadistic master. This is a fast pace ,page turner that sucks you in to this new world.
This is the first book of Kristin Ping that I’ve read . It was very well written. It was fast paced and kept me turning pages. It hooked me on the first few pages until the last page. Natasha was turned into a vampire. After she was turned she had the power of not only a vampire, she could also channel fire. She was feared by not only her kind but all supernaturals. They started calling her Blaze, you can probably figure out why. I really enjoyed this story id highly recommend this book. You definitely would be disappointed ladies so get downloading !!!
Immortal: Guardian of Monsters is not your average vampire novel. Immortal is not even your average vampire, witch, and werewolf novel. This novel has its action packed moments, but it is also full of a lot of reflection by the main character, Natasha aka Blaze. Natasha starts life off as a human, but there is something driving her to become an immortal. She never shares this reason with anyone, but she allows it to drive her. She strives to be the best of the Nightlings, but she’s not. The night that her human life ends, everything that she was striving for is erased. Her memories, gone and now she is simply a dangerous weapon of destruction to all who cross her path. With her gift of fire Natasha is renamed Blaze, and she proceeds to rain down terror and death on all around her and her coven. She enjoys what she does. Blaze fears no one, and takes immense joy in the death she unleashes on so many – enemy and coven member alike, until one day…something changes.
Immortal: Guardian of Monster by Kristin Ping is book one in her series. This is the first book that I have read by this author and I have to say that I really enjoyed this book. The author pulls me into the story from the very beginning and has me turning pages all the way to the end. I’m curious about Natasha’s story, but the story doesn’t just focus on Natasha. The story touches on Cassandra, Sonia and others as well. The story progresses forward while at the same time reflecting back and filling in the gaps for us as well. Overall, this is very well done. I like that the story does not suffer from this, because I was worried that the story would become hard to follow and understand. This is not the case, so I applaud the author for that fact.
This is a very curious story, I have to say. We set lies, deception, manipulation and so much loss and destruction throughout the story. Cassandra is trying to build an army for a Great War that she believes is coming and she is willing to do whatever it takes to accomplish her goal. In her eyes, Natasha is a weapon to be used. There are several heartbreaking moments in this story for characters that we come to know and like, and ones that we know nothing about. There are honorable moments, and moments of complete manipulation and evil.
While this story is well written, it is not without its flaws. There are several editorial issues throughout this story. There are places of where words are missing in sentences that can throw you off a bit as you are reading. For me, there were also a few sentences that I had to reread to fully understand properly what was being said. I will admit that I was disappointed somewhat with the ending. I was expecting more, or at least a revelation, but that is not the case. Since this book is part of a series, I’m hoping that the author will eventually tie all the stories together into an epic conclusion that will answer all questions that I’m sure others will hold as well.
All in all, I am rating this book 4.5 out of 5 stars. I’m taking off half a star for the editorial issues. While I don’t feel that there is really anything about a “Guardian” in this story, it is a fascinating novel to read. I practically devoured this book in a day, so you know that there is something special to it. Blaze is an engaging character, but the story does not ride on her alone, which I liked. There is some romance in this novel, but it is not the main focus. There are some sexual situations, but the author never goes into detail. So for those who try to avoid those situations in books, should really have no problems with this story. As I stated at the beginning of my review…this is not your average vampire novel. This novel is different and unique and for those who choose to delve in…I believe that you will enjoy.
This is the first book by Kristin Ping that I have read. That’s all it took for me to become addicted! OMG I cannot wait for the next book.
Paranormal fans this is a must read!
#witches #vampires #wolves
Immortal had me on the edge and left me begging for more.
I don’t leave spoilers.
I recommend this book to all not just paranormal readers.
Kristin did a amazing job of drawing me into the story, her writing just flowed and I couldn’t turn the page fast enough.
You won’t be disappointed.
I could not put this book down, I loved everything about it and I wasn’t sure I was going to even like it when I first opened it up and looked through it noticing it went back and forth within time. Most books that I’ve read that do that, they just don’t work. They get all jumbled up and I end up losing characters between chapters and things get lost whether it’s part of the plot, characters, ideas and theories… But with this book, I LOVED everything about it. The timeline worked! It was amazing. I couldn’t imagine this book in any other format. The entirety of the book was rich with this amazing world that Kristin Ping created. It was beautiful and raw and descriptive. There are some books that just fail and this book is far from that. I cannot wait to see more of this series as it continues to grow.
