What the f… did I just read??
That is pretty much how I always feel after reading an Addison Cain book. However, the writing and stories are so incredible that, despite my shock and horror, I keep coming back for more. This one is right up there with the best of the worst of the best of Addisons arsenal of shocking conclusions!! I’m not sayin’ nothin’ more. Because there is no way that I can without giving something away. And I want everyone to be as delightfully appalled as I was. This is a short story, yes. But one that you absolutely must experience!!
Immaculate, a short story by Addison Cain is nothing short of completely f*cked up. Previously published as She Came Before God, Immaculate is the newest disturbing stand alone treat from Addison Cain. It was part of a anthology of short stories called Twisted Sacrament and twisted it is. This story is NOT for the faint of heart.
This is a different kind of story for Ms. Cain as she tackles Catholicism and the kind of out of control corruption and fervor that Catholicism inspired in the middle ages. Though this is a very short story, it is brutal and stomach turning. So cross yourself with holy water and proceed with caution.
This story is meant to be sacrilegious and filled with horror and there will NOT be a HEA.
Addison does this in spades with this story. It is crazy addicting because even as I wasn’t sure I wanted to keep reading I just couldn’t put it down. It is one of those stories you read, then have to just sit back and process! Lol
Addison tells a tale that is most horrifying because it is something that could have actually happened in the past. Yet she tells it so well you also can’t stop reading.
