This story is horrifying and super creepy. I didnt want to keep reading but I also couldnt stop! Truly scary.
I read this as part of the Twisted Sacrament Anthology, and this book was all your religious nightmares come true, in a sadistic, erotically horrific way! It took non-con to the next level! I love it when an author can really push me past my boundaries! Truly amazing, in the most depraved way! I didn’t really expect an HEA here, and I certainly didn’t get one! It draws a fine line between religious zealot and evil incarnate! Still shivering!
I’m just gonna say that I didn’t realize the depths of Cain’s twisted mind and I’m still not sure if she plumbed the deepest depths but holy sacrament I’m pretty sure she got close. This is NOT an HEA or even an HFN. Strongly a horror with a twisted end.
There came a point I was actually dry heaving with disgust. Truly despicable characters. Probably her worst to date! No redeeming qualities for them. This poor girl just lived through a holy and horrifying torment and I feel so bad for her!
I heard that this book was a dare to see just how twisted Cain could actually get and I’m pretty sure Cain just won hands down. The worst part is that I could totally see this happening and I’m just sick enough to wonder about my sanity in finishing it. I kept expecting something DIFFERENT to happen for some sort of sick savior that would finally end her torture but it just didn’t happen. Every single person in this poor girl’s life was complicit in some way and I feel very violently offended on her behalf.
Keep up to the horrifying work! 😉
I’ve always had a bit of a thing for all things Vatican, Papal and the likes, wondering what goes on there and the secrets they’re keeping. This dark, twisted and horrifying account from Addison certainly went into this little box of mine, brilliantly written, ghastly to think about, something you shouldn’t read about but just can’t stop yourself!
Pulled into a false sense of security at the start of this, you just know something abhorrent and depraved is just waiting to sneak up on you. What actually happens is that the floor opens up and you end up plunging into the depths of your darkest nightmare. The descriptions and the visuals it made really turned my stomach!!
This is pure non-con containing unspeakable acts by the most holiest, be warned it’s not for the faint hearted, it’s highly disturbing but I could not stop reading it!! Hats off to Addison, this one will make you stop and think, pushing your boundaries that bit more!
Addison Cain has made a horrific tale, not so much in the story itself, which is entirely disturbing, but with how easily it could have been real. This dark story is going to make you uncomfortable and have you judging all that is holy in a new light. Very distressing to read with how things are progressing in today’s society, but very well written and conveyed.
its seriously nuts how something that was only 50 pages can hold so much depth and depravity. a twisted tale of curropt priests and the harsh upbringing of the belief that a Man’s word can be equaled or believed to be from God. you can feel the despair thrumming under your heartbeat page after page.
Holy is as holy does, and this one is anything but. It is depraved and deliciously taboo from beginning to end, and gave me a whole new appreciation on what the word Holy means.
I suggest reading this one during the day, maybe outside in the warm sun, in a crowded area. Maybe that can help you keep the darkness away for a little while…

What’s a poor girl supposed to do when she’s told that she will conceive the next saint of the church ?? She prays that it’s just a figment of her imagination. But in this case it isn’t a dream come true. It’s a living nightmare. Immaculate is far from a fairy tale. It was almost a little too dark for me but I did make it to the end. I suggest you keep your lights on for this one
When Brainwashing holds a legacy
This Short is NOT for everyone. As this story gives us in full gory details the nightmare a family line continues to suffer.
With author Addison Cain I expect sadism at it’s best and it was what I found here, she took noncom and horror told them to hold hands with that we where given this book. Reader beware this is a story where our heroine’s mind finally truly sees what is going on around her with hope she’ll be the one to break traditions.
Dark, Twisted Short Story
Immaculate is a darkly crafted short story that will leave you filled with dread… Perfect for a quick stroll into the forbidden.
Good. Lord! This was twistedness on a whole new level. Cain always tops herself. This story was extra twisted because I could almost imagine this happening when the story was set. Agnese went through hell, had her faith tested by men who should have been protecting her. Even her family saw her as a commodity. But she was still a strong character!
Over all I enjoyed this story even though it was super dark. If you are easily offended, this is not the book for you. But if you do!? READ THIS. Right now!
The Stuff of Nightmares
This short novella might be one of my worst nightmares coming to life. Having been raised Catholic the majority of my life before I saw the light, this story and having a fascination with History made me question how close this might be to the truth. It wouldn’t surprise me in the least, just saying. #sorrynotsorry
Addison seemed to get into the mindset of the time period when a woman’s worth was dependent on many things; piety, purity, devotion, obeying the dictates of patriarchy, and obedience in order to ultimately become a wife and mother. She posits what happens when there are additional players in the grand scheme of where or what happens to the woman. How does the woman accept that? Religion has and continues to influence the lives of many people especially in this story and how this “tradition” continues with each daughter. All I could think about at the end of this short story is Holy Effing TITFIRE followed by how accurate is DNA 123 because there are going to be ALOT of screwed up family trees for all those genealogy peeps out there.
Imagine yourself sitting on the precipice of the abyss contemplating life with no intention of going over and then having someone shove you from behind. This story is the precipice in this case and Addison just shoved you over, cackling the entire time, because she knows you will be pushed out of your comfort zone. Be prepared.
This story just proved that I am definitely more at home in Hell with the Devil than dealing with Catholic Bishops. I am thinking because the Devil has no qualms admitting that he is bad and that Religious people such as these are acting as “God” when they are in fact, worse than the devil they condemn.
I LOVE this author because she has a gift at writing ANYTHING and make it intriguing juxtaposed with deeply disturbing. This story is no different. Generally, these short stories turn into something bigger (whether a full story or a series), in this case, this is one that I hope doesn’t continue as it was out of my comfort zone. However, even saying that I know I would still read it because this author could rewrite a cereal box and I would read it.
This is a horrifying story from Addison Cain. I first read it in a collection called “Twisted Sacrament”. I had to take a break from the other stories to process what I had just read. It is powerfully written, and the darkness will suck you in. Just don’t expect a happy ending.
What can I say that hasn’t already been said, over and over, about Addison’s work? Disturbing? Sure. Strangely hypnotic? Yep. Uncomfortably arousing at times? Uh, kinda? This story grabbed my imagination and kept me reading into the night to see how it ended. It creeped me out and left me feeling soiled. Yeah, that’s right. I said soiled. Like I needed a mental bath to cleanse my mind. I loved every dark, dirty, and disgusting moment! Though I will admit I had to read a few chapters of a rom-com so I could finally get to sleep.
Just wow! This was twisted, dark, horrifying, and I want more! I literally have no words for how amazing this story is. This is a must read!
I’m used to the dark offerings of Addison Cain, but usually there is a supernatural or paranormal element. This time she offers up pure evil in human form disguised under the veil of religion. It’s a really short story, so not a lot of time for character development. Still I felt the innocence of her poor victim, and the vile ugliness of her tormentors. The story is really well written. I honestly don’t know how she managed to work so much dark creativity into such a short story.
Addison Cain takes dark to a whole new level in this story. Addison transports you into the mind of a young woman who has been raised her whole life as looking forward to becoming someone’s wife and all the duties she will handle. Little did she know that the Pope has other plans for her. This sick and twisted story made me want to throw up for this poor girl and the sickness that she had to endure. And that’s saying something from a fellow sadist. Well done Addison.
You know those books that you read and then sit there and wonder what you just read and what went wrong with you and your tastes? Yeah. This is one of those. When it says twisted, it really mean twisted. Yet still so good!
It was definitely awesome.
This is one of those stories you don’t exactly see coming. It is very intense, raw and well written. I could also say disturbing and twisted. It definitely dances on the line of believable which makes it scary. But as always, Cain knows how to pull you out of your comfort zone and crash land you into other realities.
