“They don’t fear me, quite the opposite. It makes it twice as fun… I know the next time will be soon, I’ve learnt to recognise the signs. I think I even know who it will be. She’s oblivious of course, just as she should be. All the time, I watch and wait and she has no idea, none at all. And why would she? I’m disguised as myself, the very best disguise there is.”
A known prostitute is found … found stabbed to death in a shabby corner of Abbeyford. Detective Sergeant Kate Redman and her partner Detective Sergeant Olbeck take on the case, expecting to have it wrapped up in a matter of days. Kate finds herself distracted by her growing attraction to her boss, Detective Chief Inspector Anderton – until another woman’s body is found, with the same knife wounds. And then another one after that, in a matter of days.
Forced to confront the horrifying realisation that a serial killer may be preying on the vulnerable women of Abbeyford, Kate, Olbeck and the team find themselves in a race against time to unmask a terrifying murderer, who just might be hiding in plain sight…
Imago (A Kate Redman Mystery: Book 3) is the third in the Kate Redman Mysteries series, by bestselling crime writer Celina Grace, author of Hushabye, Requiem and Lost Girls.
Praise for The Kate Redman Mysteries from Amazon and Goodreads reviewers:
“One of the best I have read this year. I read about a fourth of the book early in the day, then at bedtime, I thought I would read a bit more before sleep. I finished the book at 5:20 AM. Just could not put it down.”
“At last, a mystery that delivers…I found this novel superb because I got all I needed to know and none of what I didn’t.”
“…a gripping detective story but the main character engages you, and as well as wanting to know how the mystery turns out you want to learn more about her too.”
“…amazing book, read it front to back in one visit, couldn`t help myself…”
“…the most enjoyable Kindle book I have so far read since the ‘low cost electronic revolution’ which has been sweeping my reading habits for the last couple of years! Thoroughly recommended.”

Really enjoyed her writing
I liked the main character and will read her other books with this same damaged character. Fast read. Good mystery
Love this author!
The main character is on an unlikely, emotional roller-coaster which absorbs more of her time & attention than catching the serial killer.
Loved it
really?? hard to believe that this rubbish was published
I really liked this book. It kept you guessing to the end.
I putchased all 3 books offdred and read them all…in order. I used to read lots of mysteries and got away from them, after reafing these, i will continue to stay away. Did not find them very interesting or much over a sophomoric approach. As they (all) started to become (yet more dull) author would throw in a gay charactoror couple, or druggie that did not enhance the story.
This one really surprised me and I have read several of Kate Redman story’s . She is a sassy take no duff kinda gal! I enjoy this one for the unexpected twist. Lost sleep on this one I could not put it down.
Holy cow never expected the final out come. This book grabbed me from the start & could hardly put it down. I think you will enjoy reading
I love all the Kate Redman mysteries I’ve read so far. This one interrupts the narrative from Kate’s perspective so the reader is privy to the thoughts of the serial killer. Chilling. The tension builds so you end up with a real page turner that twists and turns till the conclusion. It is a very satisfying procedural that stands alone but will make you want to read the rest of the series.
I enjoyed it.
Fun read
I do not really read to many mysteries from women authors, but this lady knows now to put a story together. She keeps your attention. Her people are for the most part, well put together and she gives them a realistic life.
I like this series. Fun to watch the characters develop along with solving mysteries.
I enjoy Kate Redman mysteries. The protaganist was a complete surprise to me. The team members were very likeable. There were no lagging moments in the book.
one of the better new mystery writers
Enjoyable, though the ending was a little strange
I loved it
