In a town seemingly sold out to the highest bidder, Blackwood town is nevertheless home to Blackwood siblings hiding out from their past. Local police officer Kevin Hoisington cannot help himself when it comes to protecting and keeping vulnerable people safe. Maya is one of those people and even though they may appear to be total opposites, Kevin understands her better than she could possibly realise. As their relationship develops Kevin discovers that Maya has enemies and her enemies become his adding suspense to the plot. Although this is a fairly sweet novel there are some steamy scenes but they are tasteful and within the context of the story. This book is part of a series and some of the characters from the previous novel appear in this one too, however, it is nevertheless a standalone and comes to a happy close, although there is an opening to the next novel in the series. I received a copy of this book as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.
Maya had to get past her self-destructive behavior and Kevin over his crush on Lucy from the last book in order to have a relationship with each other. Kevin is the type who likes to help damsels in distress and as a cop he takes pride in looking after the citizens of Blackwood. It was sweet that Kevin wanted to be her friend first and not do anything that would ruin her progress battling alcoholism. I love reading how he football tackled Maya’s stalker greedy ex when he attacked her. He was sweet and strong at the same time, which is very sexy. There was plenty of humor, romance, and some suspense. I’m looking forward to reading more about Maya’s brother Clem and his rocky relationship with his estranged wife in the next book.
Imagine That is the second book in the Small Town Big Love series. Kevin is a natural protector and when Maya enters his life, he just knows that she will be his. But she’s trying to pick the pieces of her life back up and he wants to support her in any way he can, even if that means giving her some space. When they both finally act on their crushing hearts, they realize quickly how much they mean to each other. But as a threat from her past enters their life, can Kevin and Maya preserve their future?
This book is perfect for believing in second chances at finding love, realizing your full potential, and figuring out what home truly means. Kevin and Maya were such a cute couple with a truly solid foundation in friendship. They both had a crush on one another, and when they finally started dating, they went slowly and steadily. I adored Kevin’s protective nature and loved how he only wanted what was best for Maya and his hometown. Maya was a restless soul, but once she found things to focus on, she was driven. I hated how some of the dirtier aspects of her past came back to haunt her, but I loved that the author included some of these grittier aspects of real life. This was a sweet romance with some steamy scenes, full of love and heart and was a great addition to the series!
In this second book in the Small Town Big Love series, we know the story of Maya Blackwood and Kevin Hoisington.
After the unexpected death of her husband, Maya ends up sinking in alcohol and gambling to cloud her pain. When she is in a critical situation, her family decides to send her to rehab.
When she moves to the small town of Blackwood, Kevin helps her in her recovery and the bonds between them only increase over time until they reach a point where attraction and feelings are hard to hide.
As they explore the feelings that arise between them, they will have to deal with a person from Maya’s dark past who is willing to end their happiness. At the same time, the Blackwoods will try to fix what they did when they sold the town, since the company that bought it isn’t fulfilling its agreement.
I loved the story and the characters are very interesting. I wish we had a story for every member of the Blackwood family.
I highly recommend the reading.
Her husband had died suddenly and she has turned to alcohol to cope. She goes to the town named after her family where she learns the town has been sold. The sheriff tells drawn to help her. Can they save the town? Can he save her? See what will happen

Imagine That is a well written, romance set in a small town full of laughter, drama, twists, romance and so much more. If you’ve read book one, What If, then you know who Maya and Kevin are but in this book we get their love story and they are perfect together. Great writing, believable characters and a small town romance….perfect combination. I am looking forward to reading the next book in the Small Town Big Love series.
A fantastic friends to lovers story about Kevin sheriff in Blackwood who . has been in love with Maya Blackwood for months, and Maya a recovering alcoholic following the death of her husband how has been crushing on Kevin for months. Imagine That was filled with heartache, suspense, healing, flirtatious banter, wit, passion, and love. Kelly Collins has written a charming and heartwarming story of a lost young woman who has found what Blackwood really means, found the courage to open her heart to love again, and a young man who has finally found the one woman he wants to spend forever with. A captivating story of healing and second chances that readers won’t want to put down. I absolutely loved this new series from Kelly Collins and I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

The second book in the Small Town Big Love Series a well-written story that I enjoyed reading. This is Maya Blackwood a widow and Sheriff Kevin Hoisington’s story there is suspense, drama, danger, break, and entry, twists, turns, a fun story, and romance. I know I want to read the next book as this series is just getting better with each book. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Blackwood town is becoming a favorite. This book is about Maya and Kevin. Maya is a recovering alcoholic who lost her husband and Kevin is the town’s police officer and an ex NFL player. He is very protective of his small town as he makes it a point to check on all of his residents and businesses. He was once fascinated with Lucy, but nothing ever came of that and Lucy married a Blackwood.
Once Maya comes into Blackwood after being release from rehab, he takes her under his wing to make sure that she is safe and on the straight path. He is attractive to her and she is to him, but due to the program she is in, he needs to keep his distance, but it is becoming difficult as the days go by. Maya is determined to make Kevin more than a friend and fight her addiction she obtained after her husband passed. Maya is attacked at one of the meetings and Kevin is her savior, but of course the attacker is now determined to make their life hell and sue Kevin as he realized that he was an ex NFL player. Maya and her brother Clem is determined to buy back Blackwood, as the developers are not keeping up with their end. Of course, this book is a standalone, but it does leave you with questions that will probably be answer in the next book.
Does Maya’s attacker leave them alone by winning his case against Kevin? Clem is also dealing with heartache as his wife left him but has come back to try to work it out, the question is do they make up and is the town saved for all the residents there? Maya also has a sister, Jennifer, who comes at the end of the book, but the question is will there be any connections with her and Damon, who is Kevin’s BFF and a bachelor.

When we first met Kevin in the previous book, I had my doubts about him. After getting to know him in his own story, I can see how much depth there is to him. When we first met her, Maya was the poster child for “hurt people hurt people”. I loved getting to know her without the layer of grief and pain in the way of who she really is. These two were just so sweet together, in spite of all the outside forces trying to distract them. As the child of an alcoholic, I really appreciated the no-nonsense approach this book takes to Maya’s recovery. It’s tactful without pulling any punches. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series now.
I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book from the author.
Maya Blackwood, the rich alcoholic, and Kevin Hoisington, former NFL player – now cop, are the story in this wonderful new series. The first book, What If, brought me to the small mountain town, and this second book delves even more deeply into the lives of those that live there, love there and dream of their futures. It’s an amazing book! It brought me to tears as I cried at a wedding; it made me mad as a stalker brought darkness into lives; and, I smiled as love bloomed and changes happened. This is a story-line you won’t be able to put down. Enjoy!
Kevin is a retired NFL player who is now a cop in the small town of Blackwood. Maya’s husband died and she couldn’t cope with it . She turned to drinking until her family got her in rehab. Now she a recovered alcoholic who hasn’t had a drink in ten months. Kevin is always there for her when she needs support. Can these two have more than friendship? I loved this book. It’s the first one I’ve read in this series but won’t be last.
Favorite Quotes:
She was a Blackwood by birth and kept her name after her marriage to Brad Dick. He couldn’t say he blamed her.
Do you really want to report back to Togi that I let you slide? … I don’t. My coffee would never taste right again.
I’m not keeping anything on the down low. I’m just moving slowly. I want to do it right, but mark my words, it’ll be wherever and whenever after that. Got it?
While the universe hadn’t necessarily always been kind to her, it had offered her the gold standard for men when Kevin appeared in her life.
My Review:
Oh swoon, I have a new BBF and his name is Kevin – he is simply divine; thoughtful, sexy, caring, and sweetness personified, he should be thoroughly checked for possible wings! He has to be fictional as men like this just do not exist out in the wilds of the real world, but I can still be totally enamored with him anyway. My fondness for Kelly Collins’s uniquely amusing and satisfying writing style and Small Town Big Love Series continues to grow, with eager anticipation already brewing for the next installment. I fully appreciate and have to stop to marvel how each crackerjack book interconnects with a continuing storyline yet are complete, cliffhanger free, hit all the feels, and are strong enough to standalone while enticing me to continue on for more. Boffo!
It took the town to help the lady.
I have not read What If so I will be honest I was a little lost at times in the story. In installment Maya is back in Blackwood. It would appear she had major problems in the first book, but it looks as if she is trying to get her life back on track. Kevin the town cop has always cared for Maya. This is their story. Not everything goes well, but they do work through it all. That is what makes the story so good. At the end the author wrote” As Maya looked at the people surrounding her, she realized she’d come full circle. She’d arrived in her namesake town a stranger….she realized that the value in the town was never in the structures, but in the people.” It was a great story! I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
Such a sweet love story. Life is not always Rose’s and sunshine, Maya knows this after losing her husband, the vices of man take her down a dark tunnel and love brought her out. As she heals the love of a special, protective man, brings her the joy she needed to fully be herself. I loved that the characters related to real life struggles. Although raised with money, were still down to earth, real. The love between Maya and Kevin is like your favorite blanket, warm, that you want to curl up in, comfortable and means something.

This was such a great book and I am really enjoying this new series!
It’s funny how in one book you can view a character a certain way but when you get to really know them your opinion completely changes and I love it!
In the beginning of the first book I thought Kevin was a little on the creepy side but in this book your opinion completely changes and you understand what an amazing guy he is! He really wants the best for people and will help anyone who needs it. He is very attracted to Maya and extremely protective over her which I loved to read. I also liked his past with his mom and how he knew what Maya was dealing with.
In the first book I was not the biggest fan of Maya but in this book you get a much closer look at her and really understand the woman she is and how she is turning her life and hopefully the town around. She had to battle hard but she never gave up and that took a lot of work! I loved her friendship with Togi and the support they provided one another.
The chemistry between Kevin and Maya was very apparent and I really liked how they supported each other. I loved how they both slowly immersed themselves in the others lives but it was all done in a good way and seemed so natural.
Tim was a complete jerk and I hated that he went after both Maya and Kevin and Kevin did what he could to protect Maya. I was shocked with some of the twists that came out!
The end of the book was absolutely awesome and I can’t wait for the next book!
Small Town Big Love Series:
What If #1 – I always enjoy being the spider on the wall with any of Ms. Collins’ books and this one is no exception. Already sick for three days, I did not feel like reading any of my ARCs but chose to read this book. After finishing this quickly read, well written, funny story I felt so much better. I love the town, the families and the storylines. There was one character I felt got a bit of damage to his character in the beginning, when he appeared to be a wonderful character. There’s sex, which I always skip – I find written sex boring and unnecessary. There’s a touch cussing but no vulgar language. To top off the smile and heartwarming feeling I was left with, I got to chain read the next book. No matter how yucky you’re feeling, this is the medicine to put a smile on your face and laughter in your belly. I contacted the author to review her books and received this through Booksprout. 5*
Imagine That #2 – Just before my Internet and I crashed for four days, I received this book from one of my favorite authors in this genre. Well written, quickly read and funny, this romance set in a small town filled with loveable and likeable characters, except for that one – he’s a predator – and good storylines was a pleasure to read. Please read this series in order, you will enjoy the series so much better, but stand alone is OK too. There is a bit of intrigue and suspense, but plenty of heroes and romance. My favorite character from the previous story gets his shot to shine brighter than before; he’s the wonderful character I mentioned in What If. The characters from WI are still there and working together to fix the town and help their friends and families. Another happy, feel good read by an author who always delivers a good story with a twist and plenty of laughter and romance. This is my favorite so far, it’s a bit meatier with the intrigue. Sadly, I don’t have No Regrets the third book of the series. 5*
Small Town Big Love Series end.
Maya and Kevin make a sweet couple. Kevin is such a wonderful, caring, swoon-worthy man who believes helping others is the best way to succeed in life. Maya is a wealthy woman but doesn’t believe in flaunting her money or throwing her name around in order to get what she wants. She is very grounded. They have built a solid friendship during Maya’s recovery and therefore have a solid foundation to help them weather any storm that comes their way.
I liked the way being a recovering alcoholic was portrayed as being an ongoing situation instead of portrayed as if going to rehab solved all the problems. I also liked that recovering alcoholics were portrayed as everyday people from all walks of life. The way Kevin held off pursuing Maya while she was in the early stages of recovery made me love him even more.
I am excited to see what happens with Clem and Kaitlyn in the next book in the series. I’m also anxious to find out what happens to Blackwood.
