I left Lakeside, Montana heartbroken and lost with no desire to ever return. But life had other plans.Moving back wasn’t what I wanted to do, but I’d do anything for my daughter Emmy. Including put myself in the path of Sadie Jones. My daughter’s new dance teacher. The reason my heart was never fully opened to another was because it’s always belonged to her. When I watched Reed Sanders drive away … watched Reed Sanders drive away from Lakeside, I knew my heart would never recover.
He was meant for more than what this town could offer him.
Than what I could offer him.
I tried to warn him to stay away from me, but he refused to listen.
If only he would have, maybe I wouldn’t feel so broken.
The heart is mysterious. It can be closed off and broken at the same time.
It can hold room for more than one person.
And unfortunately, sometimes it takes danger lurking around the corner to make it choose a side.
All I can say is that I hope one day I finally hear the words… I’m Yours.

Wow! This is a second chance romance, stand alone. Sadie and Reed met when they were teenagers. Became best friends. But Sadie was always down on herself and never felt that she was good enough for Reed. Reed did everything to make her feel wanted and special. Decided to admit his true feelings for her. However, she didn’t want to hold him back and lied about her feelings for him. She got her wish and he left!
Both of them moved on the best they could but always felt like a part of them was missing. Well, twelve years later they reconnect. Sadie never left their small town. She made something of herself. Reed had left and always planned on coming back. Due to tragic circumstances, he came back sooner than he had planned. When he saw Sadie for the first time in twelve years, his heart didn’t know what to do. But Sadie knew what hers was to do.
These two started to become close again. Both of them healing from their pasts. Realizing, that there really might be truth to finding your soulmate.
Jennifer wrote another spectacular book!!! Do not delay picking this one up. You must read it to get the whole story of Sadie and Reed.
I’m Yours is the first book in a new series by Jennifer Van Wyk. New characters, new setting, new awesome plot!
Reed and Sadie were best friends growing up. Because of life situations, Sadie always felt incompetent when it came to Reed. Once high school ended, their friendship breaks apart and they don’t see each other for the next twelve years. But when Reed moves back to Lakeside, Montana with his 5-year old daughter, those old feelings come up again.
I really love a good single-dad book. Especially when it’s written well and the characters feel real (and Jennifer Van Wyk did that!). I also have a soft spot for first loves and second-chances, so I’m Yours really hit the mark. I also liked the little mystery involved- I didn’t see that coming!
I’m Yours is a wonderful book- full of love, life, and a group of family and friends that you can’t help but love. Oh, and a hot, single-dad. That’s worth mentioning again.
I highly recommend I’m Yours!
Only my second Jennifre Van Wyk book and I couldn’t put it down! This story was so beautiful and tragic and just perfect. Reed and Sadie were best friends growing up, but due to some circumstances it just didn’t work out. Twelve years later and a lot has happened but their love is so strong they can’t stay away from each other. All I know after reading this book, is that I’d like to move to Montana and find me a tall, dark, former fire fighter, tattooed Cowboy.. Enough said 😉
3.5 stars
This one was a good solid story. Like always, the cover caught my attention, then the blurb, but when I started reading, the plot was very addicting. Besides, the characters were well written.
I really enjoy stories that are not forced and over the top, and this one was great for that (with the exception of the last part, that’s why it doesn’t have a better rating)
I want to read more books from this author. I find her blurbs and covers very appealing.
I loved this book. I won’t lie I grabbed it because the cover grabbed my attention. I’m glad it did. It had all the romance and obstacles I love along with suspense I didn’t expect.
Reed and Sadie were best friends growing up. He fell in love with her but she always saw herself as not worthy of him because she came from the wrong side of town. After giving each other something specail one night Sadie lies and tells Reed she doesnt love him. He leaves town broken hearted and starts college.
Tweleve years later he’s back in Lakeside. He’s stronger and covered in tattoos, a widow and single father to a five year old little girl. Coming back home to live makes sense. Where do I sign up for my own personal Reed? Jennifer Van Wyk has written another fantastic book that I could not put down for anything. If you have yet to read, I’m Yours, one-click it now!
In, I’m Yours, we meet Reed a single father and a widower. Reed’s wife passed away leaving him with their five-year-old daughter, Emmy, to raise alone. Reed decides to move back home to Lakeside to be near his mom and dad but what he does not expect is to find his crush, Sadie, still living there after twelve years.
Enter Sadie who is now the proud business owner of the local dance studio. When Reed left twelve years ago, Sadie said some things she did not mean in order to get him to forget about her. Sadie has had a tough life growing up and is finally happy and content when Reed comes back home.
Is this a good thing? Or a bad thing? Only time will tell.
Reed and Sadie have amazing chemistry and after twelve years apart their chemistry is still on fire. It was easy to see that Reed never really got over Sadie and vice versa. There is plenty of drama within the book to keep you guessing as to what is coming next and when it hits, you are like “what?!?!” Reed’s daughter, Emmy, stole my heart from the beginning and kept me entertained throughout. Words cannot express how much I loved reading, I’m Yours, and I cannot wait to see what Jennifer produces next.
I loved this book! I love all of Jennifer’s books to tell you the truth. This book is a a second chance hey we screwed up in the past lets make a mends and try again book. It takes place 12 yrs after the fact in a small town were Reed comes back with his daughter after his wife dies and Sadie well she never left. But thats all i’m going to give you of the book just read it!!
I found I’m Yours by Jennifer Van Wyk to be an entertaining and enjoyable read. This is the first book I have read by this author.
This book had almost everything I love to read about….Small town romance, Single Dad, Second chance romance, friends to lovers and a little romantic suspense. This story truly has something for everyone.
I’m Yours is a standalone novel that is told in Dual POV. I enjoyed the storyline immensely, but I will say I thought the suspense aspect of the story kind of came out of nowhere and almost didn’t fit into the story. I thought if that was the direction the author was going to go with these characters, she could’ve expanded on that aspect a little more. I will say the focus on this story really was the relationship between Reed and Sadie.
I thought the flow of the story worked well, but I did find the pace to be on the slower side for my liking. I thought there was a little too much filler and at times I felt things/thoughts were repeated a little too much. I think had some of that been left out, it would’ve sped this story up a little bit. Just my opinion!!
In this book we follow the story of Reed and Sadie. Reed and Sadie have been best friends for many years, but Reed has been harboring some hidden feelings for Sadie. So when he is leaving for college he decides to tell Sadie his true feelings, only to be faced with rejection. Heartbroken Reed leaves town and really has no interest in coming back soon. Now 12 years later, tragedy has struck Reed and he has made the decision to return back home with his now 5 year old daughter Emmy. Little does he know that Sadie is still living in this town. What will happen when they come face to face?? Will Sadie finally open up to Reed and bring down her walls?? Can these two past friends become something more and get their HEA?? Read this entertaining and swoony romance story to find out.
I enjoyed all of the secondary characters that we meet in this story. Emmy absolutely stole the show for me. That little girl was AMAZING!!! I also really liked Justin and would love to see him get his own story.
I would recommend this book to all romance readers out there. You really can’t go wrong with this story. Like I said before it has a little something for all readers. I look forward to reading more books by this author.
All the stars!
My favorite book by her to date.
This is an emotional heartfelt story that takes you on an amazing journey. I’m Yours is absolutely swoon worthy and completely compelling. I was hooked right from the very beginning. I became so attached to these characters and fell absolutely in love. I could not turn the pages fast enough.
I definitely recommend this one!
Reed & Sadie were best friends growing up, by high school he wanted more with her but she held back. After one night together she told him she didn’t love him so he would leave town. Sadie cannot believe Reed is back and knows she will have to divulge all her secrets. Loved this book and Reeds daughter. Wonderful
I love second chance books! Sadie broke Reed’s heart when they were young! Now Reed is a single dad after his wife dies. He goes back to his home town, not knowing Sadie is still living there! This book is amazing!! Small town, second chances, and a one in a lifetime love! I loved it!!
I am giving I’m Yours by. Jennifer Van Wyk 5 stars This book is a stand alone read. And did a great job of combining small town, single dad, second chance romances.
Sadie Jones has not exactly had the easiest life, but no matter where she came from Reed had always loved her and longed for her love in return. When he found out it wasn’t he was leaving for college and ended up staying away for 12 years. So much has happened in those 12 years but when they see each other again, their feelings are still there.
I absolutely Love I’m Yours, the characters are amazing especially little Emmy, and the small town setting was wonderful as well. I love how while you were reading there were signs that eluded to trouble but you didn’t actually see it until it was right there. It’s definitely one of those stories that captivates you from the start. So glad I read I’m Yours you should definitely read it also!!
I loved Reed and Sadie. Jennifer is a master of second chance stories. I loved everything about their story. Emmy was so sweet. I hope we get to see more of Justin.
This is seriously my favourite book written by Jennifer!
It was sweet, se*y, full of love and had some suspence thrown in too. Plus an adorable child – equals a perfect story!!
Reed and Sadie shared a one of a kind soul mate love but it didn’t come easy for them. The challenges they encountered were realistic and I loved how their relationship started and then grew with them both. I really felt for them at times but understood each of their actions.
It was simply beautiful and I couldn’t read it fast enough! Thank you Jennifer for a superb story!! It is definitely worth more than 5 stars!
This is a wonderful second chance romance. Sadie and Reed fell in love in high school. Sadie breaks it off because she feels she is not good enough for Reed. Fast forward twelve years Reed is widower with an adorable daughter Emmy. Sadie is a dancer and Emmy wants to be a dancer. I love the scenes with Emmy and Reed he is a wonderful dad. Sadie and Reed are still in love. For Sadie being in his life is now a dream come true. This is a enchanting and lyrical book.
4.5 stars!
Small town romance
Childhood best friends
Almost-second-chance romance
Sexy single Dad
Jennifer Van Wyk writes the most beautiful, swoony love stories. Her books are always strongly focussed on the romance, and I love getting completely swept up in her books, and this one was no different. The story of a widowed single father returning to his home town and reuniting with his childhood love is sweet, sexy and swoony, and such a gorgeous read!
“I’ve carried you with me, Sadie Jones.”
“I’ve carried you with me, too.”
Reed fell in love with Sadie when she moved to his small town when they were 14 years old. They became best friends and he always wanted more, but she continually refused him, using the differences in their situations and social standings as an excuse. She was from the ‘poor’ part of town and never felt good enough for him, and even when they turned 18 and seemed on the brink of something magical, Sadie broke his heart and he left town.
Twelve years later and Reed is a widowed father to a spunky 5 year old little girl. Following the death of his wife nine months earlier, he is returning home to his roots and his family ranch to get a fresh start for them both. That fresh start includes enrolling his daughter in longed-for dance classes, and that’s how Sadie comes back into his life – as the owner and instructor at the local dance studio, she is little Emmy’s new teacher.
From the moment that Reed and Sadie see each other again, sparks fly. You can tell there is so much emotion still between them, and I love, love, love how they don’t get all cagey and play the cat and mouse game. They were best friends, they have missed each other, and they don’t delay in catching up on all of the time they have lost. They have so much to learn about what has happened in their 12 years apart, and though they have a lot of difficult news to share, they do it openly and honestly, and I loved watching them reconnect.
And it doesn’t take long for the truth of their feelings to be revealed. Something so all-consuming can’t be hidden, and neither of them even try, and there’s this overwhelming feeling of at last as they give in to everything they’ve wanted for so long, and it’s beautiful to watch. The emotions are strong, and their passion for each other is sizzling, and there’s this sense of soul-mates being reunited as they easily and naturally fall back together.
“I carried a piece of you with me even when I tried like hell to let you go.”
But just as they are finding their happiness, there is danger lurking, threatening their HEA and bringing a mystery/suspense storyline. Personally, I didn’t think it was needed, but it adds some interest and certainly didn’t diminish my enjoyment of the story. It just was.
The big question was – did Reed’s undying love for Sadie mean that he was unfaithful to his wife? Well… I don’t think he was unfaithful, but I certainly wouldn’t want to be married to a man who never fell out love with his first love. He did love his wife, and I’m sure he loved her the best he could, but she certainly came off as second best, and I felt bad for her. But I was still able to embrace Reed and Sadie’s love story and after all that they went through, I loved seeing them finally get their happy ending.
“I love you… I’m yours. Forever.”
There’s such a great bunch of side characters to go along with this one. Firstly, huge shout out to Reed’s parents, who are absolutely fantastic! Not only firmly supportive of their son, but they are all up in his business, and open about their own, and their interactions are highly entertaining! Reed’s daughter, Emmy, is completely adorable and seeing the two of them together absolutely melted my heart. And Sadie and Reed’s respective best friends, Kandace and Justin, had a few sparks flying during their brief interactions, and I am hopeful that we’ll get a story for them in the future.
I loved this book. It’s sweet and swoony, and just what I was hoping for.
4.5 stars.
This is hands down Jennifer’s BEST book in my opinion and I would give it at least 10 stars if I could!! Jennifer gives us a sweet and steamy story that has all of the feels going from friends to lovers, second chance, AMAZING HOT single dad and so much more! It’s literally a PERFECT MUST READ!
Reed and Sadie were best friends in high school and Reed always wanted more. Sadie didn’t feel she was good enough for him. So when it came time for Reed to go to college, she told him that she didn’t love him and broke his heart. Now it’s years later and Reed is returning back to his hometown as a widowed hot amazing dad. I feel like I’ve said this before about some characters but at this point Reed is literally my absolute favorite character ever. Not only do we know he’s hot physically wise but he’s HOT emotionally wise in caring for his daughter Emmy and making her his top priority. *SWOON*
I’ll leave all of the rest for you to read and figure out but just know you are in for a TREAT! After reading this book, I know that I literally want to visit and maybe even move to Montana and find Lakeside.
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. I will be buying this book to have on all of my devices to where I can re-read this MANY times!
I say it every time, and I know I do but it has to be said. Every time I read one of Ms. Van Wyk’s books I think it’s her best yet and every single time I’m proven wrong. Because the next one I read is even better. And I’m Yours is no exception! From the very beginning I feel for Reed and Sadie. My absolute favorite genres are best friends to lovers, second chance romance, and single dad. Ummmm this book has all that and then some. I mean, how do I not love this book right?!? Reed, he’s one swoony man and the way he is with Emmy? Man your ovaries will explode! And then Sadie, she’s had her share of ups and downs in life but she’s strong and independent and I honestly just love the crap out of her. And one of my favorite things about Ms. Van Wyk’s books are the towns. I wanted to call into Lakeside. And live there. And just, I want to live in this town and with these characters. That basically just about sums it up! I want to live with these characters and in this town, I love it and then that much!
Each time I think I have a new favorite book by this incredible author, she releases something new and I immediately change my mind! This book has everything you could want: friends to lovers, second chance, single dad, emotion galore, sexy times and suspense!! Let’s dig in!
This story picks up with an eighteen year old Reed about to go off to college, and head over heels in love with his best friend, Sadie. Even being so young, he knows that she’s the one for him. The only problem? Sadie has never felt like she was good enough for him. When he confesses his love for her, they spend the night together and just when Reed feels like his life is falling in place, it’s ripped apart by the only woman he’s ever wanted.
Flash forward twelve years, and Reed is moving back home. He’s a widow and a single father to such an adorable little girl, Emmy. He has spent the last years feeling as if a piece of him was missing and even though he was very much in love with his wife, he knew deep down it would never be close to what he felt with Sadie.
Sadie has spent the years apart from Reed trying to build herself back up. Soon after she broke his heart and he left for college, Sadie fell into a pit of depression and bad choices. At her lowest point she find solace in stripping — not the act of stripping itself, but the dancing gave her an outlet that she so desperately needed. (Side note: I love how the author didn’t have Sadies character be all “woe is me” about stripping. There is such a stigma against the women that are in that line of work, and I’m so glad it was made into a positive light.) Sadie is now a home owner, and owns her own dance studio and teaches a pole dancing class (so cool!!). She’s a far cry from that insecure girl who felt like she was trash or unworthy of someone’s love and affection just because of where she came from. When her and Reed come face to face after so long, immediately all the longing, pain, desire, love and friendship comes rushing forward. As well as a sense of belonging — like these two had to go through all those experiences apart to come together and be what they were always meant to be.
Not long after reconnecting do they find themselves tangled up in each other, and even though Reed struggles with moving on so quickly after his wife’s passing, he knows what a gift life is and how you shouldn’t waste a minute of happiness.
There’s also some intrigue/suspense that happens throughout the book and really comes to a head in the last few chapters! Plus the creep was the very last person I expected it to be!
This book is all about healing, finding happiness, and embracing what was meant to be all along. It was absolutely beautiful!
**I received an ARC of this book and these are my honest opinions!!**
This is the best book that Jennifer has written! I loved absolutely every second of it!
In my review of her last book I shared how I felt Jennifer didn’t know how to quite blend thriller with romance…well this book she finally figured it out! Well done!
The character development in this book was spot on. I loved Emmy so much and I think I fell in love with her more than I did Sadie and Reed! Reed was amazing, I loved so much how Jennifer was able to bring really tragedy in this book. I liked how not only did we go through Reeds love story but we also went through Reeds healing story. Sadie was great character development through the whole story and I enjoyed watching her grow.
The plot twist of the mystery at the end of the book was so shocking and added an element of surprise to this story and it was so not what I guessed that I loved the story even more.
Well done Jennifer! I loved this book, will read it again and will be recommending this to all my friends…next up Justin’s story?
