I left Lakeside, Montana heartbroken and lost with no desire to ever return. But life had other plans.Moving back wasn’t what I wanted to do, but I’d do anything for my daughter Emmy. Including put myself in the path of Sadie Jones. My daughter’s new dance teacher. The reason my heart was never fully opened to another was because it’s always belonged to her. When I watched Reed Sanders drive away … watched Reed Sanders drive away from Lakeside, I knew my heart would never recover.
He was meant for more than what this town could offer him.
Than what I could offer him.
I tried to warn him to stay away from me, but he refused to listen.
If only he would have, maybe I wouldn’t feel so broken.
The heart is mysterious. It can be closed off and broken at the same time.
It can hold room for more than one person.
And unfortunately, sometimes it takes danger lurking around the corner to make it choose a side.
All I can say is that I hope one day I finally hear the words… I’m Yours.

Jennifer Van Wyk delivers a great small town, second chance, romantic suspense, single dad romance all wrapped up into one!! I loved it. I love her writing.
Sadie and Reed have history. She lets him go so she doesn’t hold him back. He comes back to his home town because he knows he needs his parents help with his daughter. Reed has no idea Sadie is still in town.
I loved how the story develops and seeing the history of Sadie and Reed. They have great chemistry and really grow throughout the book. There are great supporting characters I could not get enough of- loved Reed’s daughter Emerson and how she connected with Sadie.
The suspense was new for a Jennifer Van Wyk book but I really enjoyed it. Another great book!
“I’m Yours.”
‘I’m Yours’ just reiterates why I love this author and her stories. Sadie and Reed’s story held so many amazing qualities, so I am not exactly sure on where to start, so I guess I will start from my first thoughts while reading. The prologue was something so relatable to me. I felt it all to well, because I essentially lived it. So when I say this author nailed the emotions, I mean that with my whole being.
Sadie and Reed’s story held a certain amount of suspense that didn’t over take the plot, which I so appreciated. It gave them enough enough time to actually have a story. It gave their story and their characters time to develop profoundly.
The main characters went through it, and I mean through out it, but you know what? They showcased so much strength and perseverance through out the entirety of their story and that right there, is how I hope my children deal with life’s ever changing realities.
Sadie and Reed were so compatible. Their chemistry is something that can not be explained. If there were two people whose souls matched so completely together, it would be theirs. Put these two in a room together and it would suck the oxygen straight from the room. That’s what a true connection is like.
I mean I could go on and on and ruin everything, but I am not going to do that. If all the above doesn’t prove what a 5 star read is, then I don’t know what does. I’m Yours was an amazing read, and I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND IT!
I have loved all of Jennifer’s stories, but sometimes your favorite authors write stories that you somewhat struggle through.
For me, I enjoyed this book overall. Single parents are my favorite. My absolute favorite! And Reed didn’t disappoint. Neither did Emmy.
But Sadie… geez, Sadie….
I could not get into this character. I don’t like Sadie. One minute she talks about how she slept with everyone and now she is with no one… talk about a woman who is her own sinking ship. I just can’t with her. Nope.
Again, I did enjoy this story overall. Just not my favorite. I probably won’t read this one again. But you might like it so give it a try.
Sadie & Reed’s story was a great single dad, second chance, plus small town romance that had me captivated from the first page to the last!
Reed was swoon worthy! Great dad & friend makes me wish Reed was real! I adored Sadie! Sadie has been through a lot & still so selfless. Reed & Sadie together had great chemistry and were meant to be.
I have loved Sadie & Reed’s journey and I’m not ready to leave these characters & world behind. I really hope Justin & Kandace get to tell their story next!
I voluntarily reviewed this book.
I’m Yours by Jennifer van Wyk is an AMAZING story!! We meet Reed and Sadie who are bestfriends when they are young, and one night when Reed is close to leave for college he told Sadie about his feeling and love, but Sadie who always felt she was less than Reed lied to him and told him she doesnt love him that way. So he leaves for college and they never see each other again for 12 years.
A lot of stuff happened in those years and Reed and Sadie are different persons, more mature and with more knowledgement about life. Reed goes back to their small town with his little daughter because he is a widower, and find himself putting her little girl in ballet class where Sadie is her teacher.
They find each other with the same feelings that they have when they were younger, but they are not so sure if they can do the relationship stuff with their past story. so if you want to read and learn about the beautiful journey that this amazing couple has to live so they can have their HEA you need to read this book as soon as is LIVE!!
This story is a perfect second chance romance, friends to lovers with a sexy cowboy and a sexy ballet teacher!! And it has lots of feelings that will make you enjoy it so so so much!!
This was my first Jennifer Van Wyc book and I was addicted from the very beginning. From the age of 14 Reed and Sadie have been best friends but right before Reed leaves for college confessions come out and both lives are changed. Twelve years later Reed moves back home with his 5 year old daughter after being a widower. He runs into Sadie and they are thrust into each others lives and the familiarity of being high school best friends came back then a spark ignites.
This book has small town romance, single dad, friends to lovers, second chance and a little bit of suspense thrown in there. It will grip you from the beginning and not able to and not want to put it down.
I loved this second chance romance! Sweet, sexy, and heartwarming, watching Reed and Sadie fall in love again had me smiling and swooning the whole time!
Great single dad second chance romance. Sadie and Reed were childhood best friends that were secretly in love with each other. When they finally graduated high school Reed spilled his heart out but Sadie was tight lipped. Reed left broken hearted but Sadie had her reasons. Fast forward 12 years and he returns to town with his 5 year old daughter. Long story short Sadie tells him the truth and they pick up from where they left off and everyone was rooting for him. There was a slight hiccup but Reed was there to save her. The secondary characters were amazing.
I can’t even begin to tell you how much I loved Reed and Sadie’s story. This book had everything that I love in novels. Small-town, childhood friends, a second chance at something more and one hot single dad.
I loved that Reed and Sadie’s story started when they were 14 years old. Too young to know what love could really be like but old enough to know that there is an undeniable spark between them. Reed fell hard for Sadie when they were young but she wasn’t convinced they could be together, due to life circumstances standing in their way. Now, years later they meet face to face again, only life has changed quite a bit for them both.
Reed is now a widowed dad, with a beautiful little girl. Looking for a fresh start in his hometown and Sadie ends up being his little girl’s dance instructor.
I like to think that fate brought these two souls back together and attraction and undeniable feelings paved the way for a love that will last a lifetime between them.
I’m Yours has a riveting storyline that will draw you in from the first page and keep you captivated until the very end. Sadie and Reed’s story took me on an unforgettable journey and the secondary characters in this novel are just as captivating as the main characters. Don’t miss out on this small town romance!
Absolutely loved Sadie and Reed and little Emmy! This book is full of love and heart and tender moments. A wondeful second chance story. I laughed, I cried, I swooned…so many emotions! Reed is the ultimate book boyfriend. He’s so loving and caring. Broke my heart in the beginning when things didn’t go a certain way and he moved on, but things happened for a reason and it all came together so well.
This sweet and steamy story has it all…friends to lovers, second chance, single dad…a perfect, must read combination!
Reed and Sadie were best friends in high school, but Reed always wanted more. Sadie never felt good enough for him, not because he made her feel that way, but because she just had low self-esteem as a result of her home life. Just when things seem to be taking a turn the way Reed wanted things to go, Sadie breaks his heart right before he leaves for college.
Twelve years later, Reed returns to his parent’s ranch with his daughter and finds himself blindsided over and over again when he discovers Sadie is still there and what’s happened in her life during that time. Sadie can’t get over how much Reed has changed, but still feels a comfort with him she’s never found with anyone else…and those sexy, muscled, tattooed changes aren’t a bad thing!
Reed and Sadie have a chemistry and connection that made my heart soar…their undeniable love had me smiling page after page. The suspenseful addition of an unknown threat had me ripping through chapters, then gripping me until the end with a surprise twist! Wow, Jennifer Van Wyk outdid herself with this one!!
So so good!!! Like usually for me these books make me love this author even more. Sadie and Reed’s story was so beautiful. Emerson was so adorable and she handle how her short little life has been with stride. Reed and Sadie’s love literally never really gave up. Which i loved that! It nade it such a good story. I did love the difference in writing in this book i noticed! I would love to see more like this. Can’t wait to see what’s to come next.
I stumbled across Jennifer Van Wyk’s books with her 2nd release (I think) and something about her writing really connected with me, and since then, she’s become one of those authors that I eagerly anticipate each next book. So, suffice it to say that I was really excited for I’m Yours. It’s a contemporary, single dad, small-town romance. Each time I read one of her small-town romances, it makes me want to move somewhere just like the town the book is set in. And since I’ve always loved Montana’s natural, rugged beauty, I’ve just added that to my never-ending Zillow obsession!
Reed and Sadie were fabulous characters. Both of them are good people from very different places. Not in the geographical sense, as they grew up in that same small town, but in the sense of socioeconomic status. He’s more upper-middle-class and she definitely grew up poor. I loved that Reed never saw the differences and just saw her. And when he returned home, he really did try not to judge the choices Sadie had to make in order to make something of her life. It’s really hard not to judge, and I think the author did a great job showing our natural tendencies as we war with them when it comes to dealing with differences in our relationships with other people. Not only did she make me thoroughly fall in love with the main characters and the small town, but she also made me fall in love with all the protagonists…and really loathe the bad guys.
NICUnurse’s Rating: I’ve read all of Jennifer Van Wyk’s books except her first one, From the Ground Up. Not because I don’t want to or because I think it will be awful. But I only have so much time in each day, and I just haven’t gotten to it…yet. It’s on my Kindle, I swear! I’ve really enjoyed each of her books that I’ve read to date, but I’m Yours has topped my favorite Jennifer Van Wyk books list now! And for so many reasons. A single dad struggling with the hand that life has dealt him and coming to terms with his past. A girl from the wrong side of town who’s done what she had to do in order to make her dream come true, even if she lost her way for a short while. I don’t know exactly what it was that my soul connected with in this book but it really, really connected with it. Someone once told me that a 5-star read should be one that sticks with you long after you finish the book. And that’s exactly what I’m Yours did with me. It’s definitely going to go on my list of books that I’ll re-read many times in my life going forward.
I give I’m Yours by Jennifer Van Wyk 5 out of 5 stars! I think I’d give it more if I could!
Single dad?
Second chance?
New Jennifer Van Wyk book?
Those check marks above are next to three of my favorite things. I was ecstatic when my friend Kaitie first introduced me to books by JVW, and the smile on my face when I got the chance to read this ARC was super giddy.
Reed and Sadie were best friends as teenagers. Until after high school, that is.
He leaves for college and only visits periodically after Sadie breaks his heart.
He ends up married to someone else, but after losing his wife, he decides it’s time to pack up his adorable daughter, Emmy, and move back home.
Some suspense, and danger round out this satisfying, second chance romance.
This book had everything I love…swoony single dad, second chance, and a small town! I absolutely LOVED everything about Reed and Sadie’s book. Emmy (Reed’s daughter) stole a piece of my heart as well! The friends and family were perfect, the setting was perfect, even the twist of danger was perfect!! Highly recommend this book!!
(First of all have you looked at this cover? It fits Reed and Sadie so good!!!) Ok, so I love single dad books and I love best friends to lovers but this book is more. When Reed saw Sadie for the first time, she was 14 and he knew she was meant for him.
She kept putting him off, their lives were just too different. She didn’t see herself like he did. When he was leaving for college, she broke his heart. Fast forward 12 years and Reed is finally coming home to stay with his 5 year old daughter Emmy. (Who I love dearly!) Imagine his surprise to run into Sadie.
The feelings are still explosive and are only getting to get hotter for Reed. What about Sadie though? Will she tell him her secrets and how will he react?
I loved there was a little bit of suspense in here too! This book had it all!!!
I’m Yours By Jennifer Van Wyk
5 Stars +++++
Fantastic! Phenomenal! This is one of Jennifer’s best story up to date! It is very well written! The couple is so made for one another!
“Being with you, it’s a surprise but the best kind of surprise there is. However slow you need to take us, I’m okay with that. Assuming, of course, that you want an us.”
“Pride is swelling in my chest for how incredibly lovely she is.”
Such an absolute beautiful story. I highly recommend! You will fall in love with it as much as I did!
Absolutely phenomenal!! Reed and Sadie are perfect together. Their story takes you through so many emotions, rips your heart to shreds but then puts it back together. I loved how their story was written, the history they had and how they found their way back to each other. Beautifully told, some tears shed, sweet moments and a seriously adorable little girl
