Confession time:
I’m Maisie Troy.
This summer I met a man who’s everything I’ve ever wanted and more.
His name is Noel and he’s hot and sweet and plays amazing hockey.
I think he could be the one.
Too bad there’s one huge problem–I’m not who he thinks I am.
No, I’m just an illusion.
An illusion that’s about to shatter . . . like ice.
Illusion on Ice is the seventh novel in the bestselling Boys of Winter hockey romance series.

Illusion on Ice is he seventh book in nhe Bys of Winter Series. Can be read as a standalone but why not start this great series at the beginning. Maisie is stranded in Sweden, and in walks her prince charming hockey player Noel. They have an instant connection, and Noel knows he’s met the girl of his dreams, and he will do anything for her. Meanwhile all Maisie has know in life, is that she can only rely on herself, if it sounds to good to be true, it is. It was entertaining read.
Maisie is stuck in Sweden thanks to her mother. She knew this trip was too good to be true. When she is forced to find her own way home, she makes a plan.
In walks Noel. He is looking to let loose after while he is in Sweden playing for Team USA. When he meets Maisie he can’t believe his luck. She is just what he wants needs.
Will she be the one for him? Will she get her mark and get him to take her back to the USA?
This was a great addiction to the series. Look forward to more.
Maisie is stranded in Stockholm, Sweden, when a “girls trip” her mother lied to her about was in reality her mom running off with a new rich boyfriend. Noel is a hockey player at a tournament in Stockholm representing Team USA. Maisie, in her desperation to get home, had decided to take a page from her mother’s playbook and hook up with a guy to get a plane ticket home. But then they fell for each other.
I’m undecided about this book. You know that feeling when you know there’s going to be big time drama because a character did something huge? It’s unsettling when there is no consequence for the person’s actions. The story is entertaining, but Noel comes across a little naive. He and Maisie really do seem to love each other but I do hope she gets therapy to resolve her abandonment issues beyond just a brief epiphany while talking to Noel.
This isn’t a bad book. It’s entertaining, but doesn’t have a lot of depth. Neither of the characters have to work much to resolve problems.
When Maisie is left stranded in Sweden by her mother, she meets Noel who is playing on Team USA’s hockey team. After using him for a ticket home, she didn’t plan on having a future with him. Noel fell as soon as he saw her. Now he just had to convince her that life isn’t just one big let down.
This series gets better with each book and I’m excited to see what’s next in this series.
This is the book 7 in the Boys of Winter Series. I love this Series! Noel and Maisie’s story is fun, sweet, sexy and Romantic. They share an instant attraction and an amazing chemistry. I love Noel! He is handsome, and so supportive and protective with Maisie! I love their HEA. I enjoyed my reading and can’t wait for the next book in the Series, Forbidden on Ice, Blake’s story.
Who said you can’t meet the love of your life in a different country ?? No One !! Because it can happen when you least expect it !! When Maisie Troy finds herself stranded in Sweden she truly didn’t know what or how she would get back to Arizona. When a crazy idea comes to mind one night at a bar she didn’t know if she could go through with it BUT when a sexy, hot single USA Hockey player happens to walk into that same bar she throws all of her doubt out the window for Noel from Nevada.
Can she go through with this crazy plan she has to get a one way ticket back to Arizona or will her heart finally be full for the first time ever with what she thinks could be LOVE or will her brain keep telling her .. how can you built a relationship or love a guy on a LIE ??
Noel Sutherland knows and feels there is something or someone is missing from his life but when a hot, young beautiful American girl catches his eye while playing Ice Hockey in Sweden he knows and feels what he wants.
Sometimes what you want you can’t or shouldn’t have but when these two have such a pull towards each other that they both feel it just by one touch of one hand .. it is electric !! They can’t keep there hands off each other !!
Fate is a funny thing though because at any moment and time .. bahmmmm .. DOUBT sets in .. can Noel make Maisie see they ARE meant to be together ?? Can he make her forget the past and move into the future ?? Can they have a future with the doubts she has because of her up bringing ?? So many cans that they just need one .. just one .. YES !!
This installment was all THEM !! The ups, downs made your stomach queasy !!
Bring on Blake !
I love this whole series, and I think it just keeps getting better with each book. The characters are so well described and easy to identify with, and I get lost in the story each and every time. Can’t wait for more from this author!
Noel Sandlund is the epitome of a perfect book boyfriend! This is the first book I’ve read in the Boys of Winter series, but I’ll definitely be reading the other ones, asap! Great conflict and story line, this book was one that I couldn’t put down.
It’s here… It’s here… Another book from this lady… It’s here…
SR Grey has given me one of my favorite series and I couldn’t handle waiting for another book. I was almost insane…
Her writing is sweet, intense, wild and passionate. Each book will hook you up in a sec and you will be left wanting more and more… Just trust me.
Illusion on Ice is her latest release and it’s the seventh book from the Boys of Winter series.
This new book explores the lifes of Noel and Maisie.
But to be able to understand this series better, I tottaly advise you to read the complete series first. You’ll love them all…
Noel is living his dream. He’s a hockey player that loves the sports and his team. One trip to Sweden…
Maisie was left in a foreign country with no way to get to the States. In that trip she meets Noel and their attraction is instantly but secrets…
I’m so in love right now… So freaking in love.
These two were perfect and I wanted to know more about Noel since he appeared in the previous books from this series.
Sublime plot, very well written, super engaging and intense.
We had lies, drama, selfishness as well as love, desire, friendship and so much more. I’m still stunned and oh so happy.
It was amazing to hear from the rest of the gang and I was so sad when it was over.
But don’t let all this fool you because I was mad as well. There were parts of the book that I wanted to hurt someone… But then there were others that I wanted to hold them and promise better days…
Let’s just say that SR… You nailed it again. What’s next on your agenda?

This is the seventh book in this fantastic series, and what a wonderful addition Noel and Maisie’s story is. This is a well written story with undeniable chemistry, and is a fun, sexy and entertaining read. I was hooked throughout this addictive page turner, and I look forward to reading more from this talented author, whose work I recommend for all.
What a sweet story. I loved these two characters.
Maisie Troy is saddled with a horrible mother who not only takes her to Stockholm, Sweden under false pretenses, but leaves her stranded there to run off with a man. This is only a glimpse into the childhood that Maisie endured and my heart just broke for her. But in spite of that, she is a strong resilient young woman who unfortunately doesn’t believe she’s worthy of love. In her current situation, Maisie needs a ticket back home by any means necessary.
Noel Sandlund’s dream of playing professional hockey has come true and he is enjoying a sweet life although he feels something is missing. Then he sees HER in the hotel bar and is instantly attracted to her. They strike up a conversation and almost immediately begin dating. Noel is on cloud nine but Maisie begins to feel guilty because she really likes Noel and doesn’t want to use him. These two young characters are just so dang lovable that I wanted to hug them.
Their journey is ripe with insecurities on Maisie’s part and Noel’s determination to prove her wrong, that she is worthy of love. It’s such a sweet love story and takes you on a somewhat bumpy but worthwhile ride. I love this whole series.
I enjoy this world of The Boys of Winter, and Maisie and Noel’s story is no exception. This was a quick and cute read just what I was in the mood for, though at times I did want to grab Maisie and shake her a bit. Though this book is 7th in the series it can be read as a stand-alone just fine, but you will definitely want to read the other stories they will not disappoint. If you love a good sports romance this story is definitely a must read!
I can’t get enough of this series, and characters! This may have been my favorite to date! The writing was phenomenal as always, and you get laughs and the pages just fly!
I have read all the book in the Boys of Winter series and I have very much enjoyed all of them so far.
Illusion on Ice is the 7th book in the Boys of Winter series and each book are standalone so if you want to start with this book you can go ahead but if you love hockey romance I think you are probably going to want to read the rest of this series.
This book was fantastic. It is well written and I was hooked from the very beginning.
I love the chemistry between Noel and Maisie.
If you are looking for a sweet and swoon-worthy hockey romance then you should read this book.

For the most part, I enjoyed this story. It took a bit for me to like Maisie as she behaved like her mother, but as we got to know her, I understood her better. Noel was a romantic and determined young man. He knew what he wanted and was willing to overlook Maisie’s past and current situation. I have one complaint regarding the hockey parts. At one point, Noel grumbled about a call not being made, but the rules call for that situation to be what it was (no call should have been made). This was an easy read.
I received a copy of this story through Enticing Journey Book Promotions, and this is my unsolicited review.
Great story about a young NHL hockey star, Noel, who’s ready to find his soul mate in life. While playing in a tournament in Sweden, he see’s a girl in the bar at the hotel and he’s instantly taken with her.
Maisie is in Sweden on a trip with her flakey mom, who basically abandoned her there to meet up with a guy, with no way for Maisie to get home. She’s got no money, but when she finds out the mens USA hockey team is there at the hotel, she see’s it as her ticket home.
When these two meet, its hard for Maisie to keep thinking of Noel as her mark, he’s so sweet, and caring, something she’s not used to having. Can she keep things on track with him getting her home, or will fate intervene and ruin everything for her. Read along and find out.
Getting to know Maisie and Noel was a fun journey. This story was full of funny banter and two people destined to be together. Coming from a loving family it was sad to read how little did Maisie’s mom cared for her. I loved how determined Noel was in finding her and convincing her that they belong together. And the fact that he had such a romantic soul was huge plus.
Overall it was a nice and quick read – perfect distraction for a rainy day.

3.5 stars
Illusion on Ice is a sweet, easy read. While it’s the seventh in the series, I had no difficulty reading the book without having read the others.
Maisie is basically stranded in Sweden when her alley cat of a mother abandons her for a rich guy. Maisie has to find a way back to the States while living in the rich guy’s hotel suite. Her plan was to hitch a ride back to the states with someone but she didn’t plan on falling for him.
Noel is living the dream, a pro hockey player in Sweden representing the United States in the big show. The only thing missing is someone to share it with. Falling for the gorgeous girl in the hotel bar wasn’t exactly part of the plan but it takes his many victories to the next level. Now if he could just find her again!
I wanted to like this book so much… I’m a huge hockey fan, a tried and true, red, white and blue Team USA super fan and a sucker for sports books but I just didn’t love it. Maisie dislikes her mother’s habit of using people but when push comes to shove she chose to do exactly what her mother does, attach herself to a rich guy and have him pay the way. I just couldn’t get behind it. I did; however, really like Noel. He was a generous trusting sweetheart and I feel in love with him as quickly as Maisy did. The writing was great and the book was good but just wasn’t my favorite.

This was a little slow for me, just because of the tug back and forth with Maisie’s feelings. Her and Noel together were great, I loved watching them fall. Their chemistry and adventure were the highlight of this story for me.
I did enjoy watching Mais grow emotionally and be able to face her demons to get her HEA.
I do recommend this romance.
