Confession time:
I’m Maisie Troy.
This summer I met a man who’s everything I’ve ever wanted and more.
His name is Noel and he’s hot and sweet and plays amazing hockey.
I think he could be the one.
Too bad there’s one huge problem–I’m not who he thinks I am.
No, I’m just an illusion.
An illusion that’s about to shatter . . . like ice.
Illusion on Ice is the seventh novel in the bestselling Boys of Winter hockey romance series.

Illusion on Ice was a quick read. The blurb left you very curious as to what the “illusion” could be. I really wanted to like this story. I just couldn’t get into it. There was very little character depth and no feeling. I couldn’t bond with the characters or the situation. Unfortunately, the story comes across rushed and as a rough draft. I was very disappointed.
The Boys of Winter are one of my favourite hockey series and Illusion on Ice did not disappoint it really is a great addition to this amazing series. This is Noel and Maisie’s book and it’s a tale you won’t want to miss, this author has a way with words she manages to make you feel part of the story and I feel like I’m catching up with friends when ever I pick up a book in the Boys of Winter series.
Noel and Maisie meet in Sweden, he is there with the US National Ice Hockey Team and she has been left there when her mum takes off with her latest lover. The attraction is instant but both Noel and Maisie feel something deeper could they be the one for each other or will the secret Maisie is keeping ruin it all…….
This book has it all, adorable characters who are kind, caring and full of love for each other, Noel is a swoon worthy hero who I fell in love with as soon as I meet him and as much as I wanted to hate Maisie for not being truthful with Noel she is impossible to dislike because truth me told she is a victim of her selfish mother and it’s really not in her nature to deceive. Characters with sizzling chemistry and who share plenty of witty banter all help to make this a must read. If you love sports romance or romance in general you should certainly be one clicking this great read. I loved it.
5 Star Review Illusion On Ice (Boys of Winter #7) by S.R.Grey
This is one of my favourite Hockey series of all time and this was a fabulous addition to the series. Whenever I read a Boys of Winter book I feel as though I am coming home. Noel Sandlund and Maisie Troy’s story is extremely well written and S.R. Grey weaves a story that will keep you absolutely invested from the first to the last page.
I have been waiting for Noel’s story ever since he was first introduced and Illusion on Ice did not disappoint, Maisie is absolutely the one for Noel and I loved the story line. Although this is not a particularly long story, Ms.Grey managed to pack an awful lot into it none the less.
Fate works in mysterious ways when Noel and Maisie meet in of all places Sweden. Noel is there to play hockey for Team USA whilst Maisie has been abandoned and left to fend for herself by her extremely selfish mother. Their connection to one another is instant and both feel as though they may have finally met “the one”. As their relationship intensifies, Maisie is constantly waiting for the other shoe to drop, knowing that for her life is never as good as it appears.
I fell hard and fast for Noel, what a swoon worthy hunk of a man he is. I loved his friendship with the players and the way he cares for and about Maisie is totally swoon worthy. Maisie on the other hand I wanted to dislike as I just knew she was going to hurt Noel, however I really couldn’t help but feel for her and the circumstances she found herself in.; her mother on the other hand I had no time for.
There was so much fun and the chemistry between Noel and Maisie was off the charts. The blossoming romance was so sweet and honestly I really wanted them both to get the happily ever after they both deserved.
However, what will happen when Noel learns that everything he thinks he knows about Maisie is an illusion? Can two people form opposite sides of the fence make it? One click and find out.
