The teacher character is so toxic. He was into the chick, then he wasn’t, then he was. Meanwhile, she’s having a mental breakdown because of his hot/cold antics towards her. So much so she turns to alcohol and drugs. Did not like this book.
An illicit read!
He’s her history teacher…
And wanting him is against the rules…
I have some mad love for student/teacher reads but this book was a bit disappointing which is why it took me a really long time to finish it. It just lacked a spark for me – normally when I know it’s a student/teacher romance book, there is a spark there immediately when I start reading the book. However, in this case, there was hardly any spark or passion.
Though it was still a really good and enjoyable read.
Full of forbiddeness, desire, truths, secrets, family, friends and love.
Perfect for readers of forbidden romances.
CARSON AND LYNN ARE PERFECT TOGETHER
At a beginning of school party, Lynn catches her boyfriend in the act of cheating on her, and, because she needs air, plus to get away from the situation, Lynn walks down to the beach to sit and think..alone……and that’s where she meets Carson…
Carson graduated from college and is ready to start a new job as a history teacher for his former private school…….but when he attends one more “college” party with his friends, at the beach, he realizes he’s outgrown all the bs that goes along with those parties, so he goes out to get air and walks down to the beach…where he finds Lynn….They REALLY hit it off….and they sleep together…When she wakes up and leaves him still asleep, neither of them are happy about that…
As Carson begins his first day, he finds Lynn sitting in his first hour class, and they both know their night was more than a one-night stand…..and, probably, going to turn into a relationship, whether he’s her teacher or not….she’s already 18, but he’s still her teacher…But they know trouble is close…
Carson and Lynn deal with lots of problems, her parents, his parents, her ex, her best friend, their individual issues, their situation, etc…… This book has a lot of moving parts….I shed quite a few tears while reading ILLICIT…..It’s my first book by Ava Harrison, but it won’t be my last….
Written in the stars…
Where do I even begin? This book gave me so many feels. It was not at all what I expected and I fell in love with Carson and Lynn’s journey. Honestly, these two have been through so much not just as a couple but individually in their lives. Their connection was so beautiful. Whilst there was heartache and pain, they both grew together and overcame all their obstacles.
Simply put. I loved this book.
This book truly had me captivated from the beginning! Almost reminded me of the first season of Pretty Little Liars where Aria & Ezra hook up and all the drama that ensued after that! But, this story was amazing – love the character development of Lynn & Carson, and the big twist toward the end! Totally didn’t see that coming (although looking back, the clues are there). Definitely plan on reading this again!
Lynn and Carson…this was not the story I was expecting, and for that I am so so so glad. This book has all the feels and then some. It’s raw, it’s gritty, it’s feelings of helplessness, and the flush of new love. For an author to make you feel this, you HAVE to be dang good at your job. It is more than entertaining, the author should draw you in, and that is what Ava Harrison has done with this book. I am not rehashing the plot other than you say, put aside what you THOUGHT this book was about, and give it a chance to change your book reading life. You will not be sorry. Told in alternating views.
A well done book in one of my favorite tropes. The writing was well done with the perfect amount of angst for me. The cover is lovely and I look for to reading more from this brilliant author.
