Rule #1: Never fall for your client. Rule #2: Never fall for your client’s fiercely protective, smoking hot sister-in-law. I’m the kind of guy who believes that everyone deserves the best legal representation money can buy—which just so happens to be me, Lucas Wright. Give me your henpecked, your cuckolded, your irreconcilable differences yearning to break free! And if you’re the bad guy in your … if you’re the bad guy in your marriage, that’s cool too. Your green is as good as anyone’s.
Tell that to Trinity Jones. It’s my job to destroy her sister—the soon-to-be ex-wife of my a-hole of a client—and Trinity’s “big sis” instincts are dialed up to the max. I admire that. I admire her. But she won’t stop me from representing my client to the best of my ability.
Not even if my chemistry with Trinity is undeniable. Not even if we can’t keep our hands off each other. Not even if she injects life into a heart assumed to be long dead.
Because when faced with a choice between love and duty, the job will always win—or at least that’s what I thought before I met Trinity . . . and suddenly conflict of interest never felt so right.

Illegally Yours is a steamy, smart, sexy, scintillating love story—and it encompasses everything I love about Kate Meader’s books. From butterflies-in-the-stomach feels to absolute heartache, this book checked off all my boxes, and gave me a strong, sassy heroine and a delightfully accented, swoony hero. A must-read for lovers of all the feels romance.
Smart, sexy banter and fast-paced fun, ILLEGALLY YOURS will keep you up far past your bedtime. The chemistry between Trinity and Lucas is off the charts. I loved this book!
I am loving Kate Meaders’s Laws of Attraction series and the staff at Wright, Lincoln, and Henderson. Illegally Yours focuses on the “forbidden” love from a variety of view points, but in this case it’s impacting all around fun loving Partner Lucas Wright as he takes on a new client who impedes his chance at love. When Lucas meets Trinity Jones at a whiskey tasting they immediately react to each other. Their chemistry is amazing and very confusing for Trinity. Lucas is smooth but she isn’t buying it creating a challenge that Lucas is very ready for.
The problem here is that there is no love loss between Trinity and her sister Emily’s soon to be ex and therein lies the problem. Trinity and Lucas together represent a conflict of interest and a no-no between said ex’s to be lawyer and the soon to be ex sister in law. But the issue is much deeper than a simple request to the ex that they be “allowed” to date, adding a twist to story that I didn’t see coming.
There’s something so joyous with Lucas. I LOVED being in his head and “hearing” all his wonderful British-isms. Hes one of those characters that I suspect and authors connects with and uses to spread smiles and giggles.
“When it comes to my personal life, just know that I’m Trinity Jones’s biggest fan. And I mean that in the creepiest way possible.”
He is the epitome of a charmer but he’s got some demons that he’s fighting and not ready to share as the two embark on a relationship. For her part Trinity is holding back as well. There’s history she doesn’t share with Lucas pointing to her fears about relationships and not being able to fully trust his intentions.
Meader surrounds Lucas and Trinity with a wonderful groups of friends and family, all of who play into the plot and story-line, and in some cases, all too much! Trinity’s life doesn’t always seem to belong to her but that in turn is what makes for great character growth. I really can’t recommend this book and series enough. In fact book three is on my highly anticipated list for 2019.
Illegally Yours (Laws of Attraction #2) by Kate Meader is the next book in the series. However the 1st book does not have to be read in order to read this book. I can say I have not read the first book and it didn’t effect this story. Lucas is a hot shot divorce attorney who at a Whiskey tasting meets a woman who rocks his world. Trinity is a sommelier. Whiskey is her area of expertise. During an event she meets meets a loud, silly, very charming and sexy man. She has a an interaction with Lucas that many can see the sexual tension between the two of them. When Trinity feels her sister’s lawyer is not fighting for her, she goes to Lucas’s firm for help. She finds out Lucas is representing her sister’s soon to be cheating ex husband. Due to that fact the relationship Lucas and Trinity had hoped to starts is put in jeopardy. I loved this story. I loved Lucas, between his British wit and his compassionate spirit I couldn’t get enough of him. He is any woman’s dream man. The interaction between Lucas and Trinity kept me engaged in their story from beginning to end. I can tell you i didn’t get much sleep. A true love story. 5 stars for me.
Ladies get ready for the swoon worthy Lucas Wright . He has swagger, intelligence, a panty dropping smile and oh yes a sinfully sexy British accent. He is the quintessential bad boy that just hasn’t found his perfect gal. When Trinity Jones steps into his sight all bets are off but she wants no part of this smug, arrogant oh so sexy attorney. She has been though the romance wringer and the last thing she needs is to be pursued by Lucas. The attraction is undeniable and the pursuit is on but once Lucas realizes that she is the sister in law of his new divorce client he needs to step back and rethink this woman ! The problem is that he can’t stop thinking about the beautiful , sassy smart sommelier. She has captured more than just his attention .
Lucas and Trinity are sweet, snarky, sexy and brilliant together !
Loved them !!

This book was a bit of struggle for me at times. One minute I was smiling at the banter between Lucas and Trinity. The next I was so angry at Lucas for representing Brian and for his brand of pushiness towards Trinity and how he thought she should deal with her relationship with her sister, Emily. Which, in turn made me question all of that anger and now I must have some deep conversations with myself about maternal bias and my own control issues. But that’s a story for my therapist.
I feel like I didn’t love Trinity and Lucas as much as I could have solely based on their situation. In terms of chemistry, sexual tension, and just basic compatibility I absolutely adored them together. From Lucas and his goofy outfits and all his utter Britishness to Trinity and her endless Whiskey knowledge and need to be the strength for everyone around her, I couldn’t get enough of these two. It was when her sister or his job were in play that I felt disconnected and couldn’t completely fall in love with their story.
I adore Kate Meader’s writing and her amazing characters and really did enjoy this book, except for when I didn’t. This is a clear case of me being in my own head and not being able to fully let go of that to love the story but being able to recognize great character building and story-telling regardless. I would absolutely recommend this book to pretty much anyone who enjoys a dirty talking Brit and the strong, intelligent woman he’s going to break all the rules for.
Next up we finally get Audrey and Grant’s story and I honestly can’t even wait. I’m dying to know what happened between them but anxious about what they’ll go through as they find their way back to each other. Then Came You is coming in May!!
So. Freaking. Good! Kate Meader once again brings us an incredible couple that at first glance don’t appear to fit yet work so amazingly well together. Trinity and Lucas have sizzling hot chemistry but being together is forbidden since Lucas is the new hot shot divorce attorney Trinity’s soon to be ex brother in law has hired. Completely off limits or is Trinity the one woman who can make Lucas want to break all the rules – ethics be damned. Their story is laugh out loud funny with witty banter and humorous situations while also being emotional, heartwarming, and full of hope. If you enjoy a fun, fresh, sexy story this is the book for you! I highly recommend it.
Illegally Yours is one of the most satisfying slow burns I’ve ever read!
Lucas and Trinity stole the show in the whiskey tasting scene in Down with Love and Illegally Yours picks up right from there, so you don’t have to read Down with Love – but you totally should! The sexy Brit and badass female whiskey sommelier have crazy chemistry but they also have a conflict of interest and so begins the slow burn. Meader craftily weaves friendship, banter, and sexy moments into a story that has you as anticipating THE MOMENT as much as Lucas and Trinity are!
I’ve been a fan of Meader for a while now and Eli Cooper, the sexy Chicago politician from Playing With Fire, has been my fave Chicago hottie but Lucas as stolen the show!
I’m beyond ready for Grant and Aubrey’s story and more excellent books from Kate Meader!
Illegally Yours is a sweet, fun romance in Kate Meader’s Laws Of Attraction series.
Kate has done a great job with all of the main and surrounding characters. Some you like, some you don’t and others you will want to know more about. Her writing was spot on and enjoyable with all British slang from Lucas. He was quite the charmer.
I enjoyed Lucas the witty, sexy Brit who always seems to have something to say. He is the perfect match to the independent, beautiful Trinity.
The sparks fly when they first meet, but this book keeps the slow burn simmering between the two. They have obstacles and challenges but I enjoyed the way they seemed to be their for each other even though everything between them is so new.
I was hooked on this book as soon as I met Lucas. He was everything you want in a book boyfriend. Trinity was the perfect girl for Lucas. They balanced each other out. Lucas and Trinity both had pasts that they needed to work out and move beyond. And of course Lucas’s profession as a lawyer had an impact on Trinity’s life. I loved that Lucas was very proud of Trinity and her job of whiskey sommelier, which is a male oriented profession, and how Trinity realized how lucky she was in that. These two were very hot together and I loved all the teasing Lucas did with Trinity. And she did too!
Loved the glimpses of Max and Charlie and their relationship. I am so looking forward to Grant and Aubrey. There was a lot more insight into them in this book. I am really loving these three lawyers!

ILLEGALLY YOURS is a story of secrets, family, heart break and love. The premise is inviting and spicy; the romance is spirited and moving; the characters are sassy and sexy. ILLEGALLY YOURS is an energetic and passionate look at two people willing to cross the line for something more.
This is my first time reading this author and I was truly delighted. Trinity and Lucas’ story was everything. The chemistry between the characters was off the charts. The secondary characters enhanced the story line and brought both comic relief and realism to the story. Worth the read.
ARC received from NetGalley for an honest review.
4.5 Charming Stars!
Ladies, get ready for some British charm headed your way with Lucas Wright. This man can charm the pants off a man-hater. The way he talked was just as pleasurable as the story itself. I can’t wait for the audiobook! He’s going to be liked by a lot of readers. He was a good mix of charming, alpha, protective and even had a sensitive side. That’s not an easy mix to create but Kate Meader did it!
I enjoyed Trinity Jones as well. She had a unique job as a sommelier, her specialty in Whiskey. She was first described doing her job in a leather cat suit and that set the tone of her personality for me. She came off very strong, independent, in control as well as care giver. I think some people relate a strong female as bitchy, but not Trinity. In fact, I think she was too nice sometimes. Being strong and too nice can actually happen.
The banter between Lucas and Trinity was fun. We do get some very serious moments. Both have experienced trauma in their life and that comes out in their story. Overall, I really enjoyed getting to know these two as they got to know each other.
Next book, Grant and Aubrey. After getting small doses of those two in books 1 and 2, I’m anxious for their story. I want them back together!
What an awesome, inspirational book by Kate Meader. There were parts in this book my heart was in my throat – while pulling at my heart strings. The story of Trinity Jones and Lucas Wright is more than just a story it’s a journey and the author takes you on that with them. Sometimes when the baggage of life gets to much, you need to share it with someone you love.
4.5 stars
Lucas falls for a whiskey sommelier at his friend’s bachelor party, only to discover she’s the sister to his current client’s soon to be ex-wife. Talk about an ethical conundrum!
I’m not usually a fan of the older woman/younger man trope, but Meader won me over with Lucas and Trinity’s quick-witted banter and hot attraction! I loved the sexual tension between the two and admit I giggled when that particular powder keg blew! How Trinity resisted the roguish Lucas as long as she did… Of course, Lucas totally caved first. Trinity’s snarky charm and sass definitely caught his attention!
Trinity and Lucas’s story weighed heavier then Max and Charlie’s, not just because of Trinity’s sister’s divorce and custody battle, but because of Trinity and Lucas’s childhood emotional hurts and scars that lingered. I liked how the playful side balanced out the emotional issues, and loved how it pulled the two closer than either was expecting.
Kate Meader has another winner with Illegally Yours. Granted, there’s little focus on the law aspect. However, with plenty of sexual tension, a Harry Potter obsession, and a wild romance guaranteed to win a cynic over, there’s plenty of compensation to be found!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I loved this book! This is the second in Kate Meader’s Law’s of Attraction series that centers around three divorce lawyers. Lucas Wright is a 28 year old, hot Brit, who has a goofy, devil may care attitude. He meets Trinity Jones when she is leading a whiskey tasting. He is instantly captivated by her. Trinity is the consummate nurturer, and takes care of those she loves. When she meets Lucas, she finds him attractive, but thinks he is just an overgrown frat boy. Lucas decides that he needs to take his time and convince her to date him, but soon finds out that he is defending her brother-in-law in his divorce, and ethics won’t let him date her. This is the set up for a good forbidden romance. Both characters are well developed, the pace of the romance was good and I loved their backstories. I cannot wait for the next book in the series! I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley for my honest review.
A witty, charming, sweet, and entertaining story. I enjoyed taking this journey with Trinity and Lucas.
This was okay. I would have given this a 4 star review if Trinity would have been less of a doormat for her sister. The whole thing with Lucas starts as something easy. No expectations. While Lucas opens up about his past and what drives him, Trinity chooses to keep everything to herself because of how it might make her sister look. It would have made her look exactly as she was. A spoiled GROWN woman, who expected everyone else to do things for her, and not to have to give up anything in her divorce. The one line that stuck out to me the most was “He’s trying to take my kid’s home away from ME”. Not my kids, me. Yeah, mother of the year. Trinity constantly makes excuses and enables Emily, and it was SO frustrating to read. The whole situation with Lizzie was sad, and I hated to see it end that way. Lucas and Trinity get their HEA, and it was a sweet ending. I loved the first one in this series, this wasn’t my favorite, and I’m hoping Grant and Aubrey’s story is great.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book.
This series keeps getting better with each installment. Kate Meader is quickly becoming one of my go to authors.
Who doesn’t love a sexy guy with an accent? Lucas was had the entire package and I loved his character. Trinity is a strong and independent woman who works as a sommelier. These two have intense chemistry and was such a fun sweet read. I am looking forward to reading more books by this author.
Witty dialogue, snarky exchanges and smoking hot attraction turns our head with Kate Meader’s second book in her Law of Attraction series. I am enjoying this series, but it’s not my favorite style of this author’s writing.
As a whiskey sommelier, Trinity Jones comes across men of all natures, but Lucas Wright just might take the cake for the cockiest around. He’s condescending, he’s smoking hot and that British accent of his … well, she’d be more irritated if she wasn’t so attracted at the same time!
A chance meeting at a bachelor party leaves Lucas wanting more! Too bad they discover he’s representing her slimy ex brother-in-law who’s trying to take her sister for a ride in their divorce. She should be off-limits, they both agree to that … but there’s something about her that he just can’t stay away from!
