Rule #1: Never fall for your client. Rule #2: Never fall for your client’s fiercely protective, smoking hot sister-in-law. I’m the kind of guy who believes that everyone deserves the best legal representation money can buy—which just so happens to be me, Lucas Wright. Give me your henpecked, your cuckolded, your irreconcilable differences yearning to break free! And if you’re the bad guy in your … if you’re the bad guy in your marriage, that’s cool too. Your green is as good as anyone’s.
Tell that to Trinity Jones. It’s my job to destroy her sister—the soon-to-be ex-wife of my a-hole of a client—and Trinity’s “big sis” instincts are dialed up to the max. I admire that. I admire her. But she won’t stop me from representing my client to the best of my ability.
Not even if my chemistry with Trinity is undeniable. Not even if we can’t keep our hands off each other. Not even if she injects life into a heart assumed to be long dead.
Because when faced with a choice between love and duty, the job will always win—or at least that’s what I thought before I met Trinity . . . and suddenly conflict of interest never felt so right.

I love this series for many reasons but one of the things I like and appreciate the most is how Kate Meader puts the most unlikely of couples together but then really sells it! I love Lucas and Trinity together and was really rooting for them to find a way over that giant ethical hurdle that was holding them back from going for it. Lucas is a bit obnoxious at times but he is so charming, fun and goofy I couldn’t stop from loving him. He is a divorce attorney who specializes in father’s rights. When I found out about his past and the emotional trauma taking place in his present, it was so easy to fall for him. Trinity is just awesome. She is older than Lucas but that is no problem in my opinion. They definitely balance each other out. She has a very cool job as a whiskey sommelier and that is how she meets Lucas. They soon find out they cannot be together though because he is representing her sister’s soon to be ex-husband in her divorce and she is very close to her sister.
Wonderful characters and a great flow to the story make this another wonderful read in this series. I am really looking forward to Grant & Aubrey’s book.
“She needs to recognize that this path has one destination. Me and Trinity sittin’ in a tree. F-U-C . . . You get the idea.”
So sue me, I like #ForbiddenRomance and Illegally Yours fits the bill. Imagine the disappointment of discovering the woman that you’re in lust with is the sister of your client and off-limits. Seems doable though, right? Well, not if fate keeps throwing you together time and again and she feels the same way. So, then the solution would be to just ride it out, keeping your hands to yourselves until the divorce is final and the asshole is no longer a client. Sounds like a plan, huh? “Just thinking of all the things I plan to do to you once the obstacles are out of the way. All the dirty things.” Well, you know what they say about the best laid plans…
It was fun being inside Trinity’s head, especially when she’s thinking about the #HottieBrit and decides that “I’ll let it buoy me and fuel a few British-accented fantasies later.” Yup, I knew that eventually those fantasies would turn into reality and I couldn’t wait. I found myself giggle-snorting more than once as I got an education on sexily accented slang and curse words. I also found my heartstrings being pulled more than once when I discovered why said HB chose to be a divorce attorney.
I’m enjoying the Laws of Attraction series, but I do have to point out that there’s not much legal stuff included in the story. Unfortunately, the sexy divorce lawyers did not need my help with strategy or information gathering and there are no objections or badgering of witnesses. But there are a great group of friends that have each other’s backs and a specific couple that I’m very excited to read about next. The author has been teasing me from the beginning about them and I’m beyond intrigued to discover their secrets. The line forms here…
Started reading and did not want to put it down. Great story kept me involved. I could see it, hear it and feel it. The characters were good. Lucas was hot, hunky and real. Trinity (love that name) beautiful, strong and independent.
This journey, with a lot of realities and depth, just flowed for me, tapping all my emotions.
Charming, sexy, witty, alpha male with a sensitive side – that’s Lucas Wright. Add in the British accent and he’s about as close to perfect as it gets. He’s also a bit broken, which serves to make him even more endearing. Enter Trinity Jones, and Lucas just may bite off more than he can chew. The sparks fly from their very first meeting, and the chemistry between them is off the charts even when Trinity refuses to admit it. There is some angst from both sides, and each of them have their share of family issues to deal with, but it’s impossible not to like these two whether they’re exchanging barbs or generating enough heat to set the curtains on fire. I really didn’t think I could like this one as much as the first in this series, but this author has proven me wrong and with this second in the series, has set the bar quite high for whatever comes next. Illegally Yours is a brilliantly delightful read from start to finish. It’s emotional, sexy, funny, engaging, and impossible to put down.
I love this book. I have never laughed so much in along time while reading a book. The characters are filled with mystery that you hope will come out sooner rather then later. Their is a sadness, but the love, friendship and adoptive family out weighs it all. Not only that but this is one of the few books in which the author has shown growth in major and some minor characters. Most important thing is Lucas and Trinity’s relationship went through so much trial and tribulations, but they never gave up on each other.
Kate Meader’s Illegally Yours is a masterpiece of emotions. Her writing, and this story, made me laugh out loud, swoon at the sweetness, and cry at the heartache. Illegally Yours is a wonderful story of two wounded people, that on paper shouldn’t be together, but can’t fight the feelings developing.
Lucas is a hero with an injured heart. He is gorgeous, has a great job and is involved in the community. He meets Trinity at a bar and is instantly smitten. He tries, very unsuccessfully (and humorously) to woo Trinity. Although he doesn’t walk away with a date, he does leave after having caught Trinity’s eye and her business card.
Trinity is a strong and independent woman. She has spent years taking care of her family, sacrificing taking care of her own wants and needs. Initially she fights off her attraction to Lucas (he is 6 years younger and her sister’s soon to be ex-husband’s divorce lawyer) but she realizes that he could be just what she is looking for…a door back into the dating game and life. What she doesn’t expect is how important Lucas will become to her happiness.
Both characters are impacted by early life events that have forced them to assume certain roles. Lucas is the happy-go-lucky flirt out for a good time and Trinity is the provider ensuring that her family is protected. But below the surface, Lucas & Trinity are suffering. It takes their relationship to open each up to reconciling the past and looking towards the future.
The author creates such wonderful banter between the characters. The story is so engaging that even though I wanted Lucas & Trinity to reach their HEA, I didn’t want the book to end! This was my first Kate Meader book, but it won’t be my last. If you are looking for a fun read that touches your heart, consider Illegally Yours a must read!
Lucas Wright is jaded. As a leading divorce attorney, he’s seen the worst of relationships and has vowed to never fall in love. Love doesn’t last, he’s convinced himself–nor is it enough. And then he met Trinity Jones.
Someone he should never, ever have feelings for. First of all, because that whole “love doesn’t last” belief and second because Trinity is his client’s sister-in-law. Yep. sister to his client’s wife–and even if the client is a complete and total a-hole, the client still deserves Lucas’s best effort, right?
Well, maybe… and that’s just the predicament Lucas finds himself in!
Lucas and Trinity are wonderful together–they’re sexy, smart, snarky and a joy to watch fall in love.
So, so, SO GOOD! Once I started this one I could not put it down. Who would have thought this couple would be so perfect for each other? This author, that’s who! Lucas is a hot-shot British lawyer who represents predominately husbands and fathers and when he meets Trinity at a bachelor party he is immediately intrigued with and the chemistry between these two is off the charts! Too bad just when they are getting close they find out he is her sister’s soon to be ex-husband’s lawyer and there is a conflict of interest and ethics problem…oh my…Will they get past this? You bet they will, in the most witty way possible with so much banter and sass and, of course, with so much heat! Definitely recommend this one!
Good beach read! Kept me entertained and wanting to know the outcome.
Illegally Yours is funny, sexy, smart, and impossible to put down. I adored it.
This is a great read from start to finish. Meader develops characters that fit together even when they shouldn’t. This female character rocks and he adores how strong she is which makes female readers adore him! Must read book demands 5 stars.
I truly enjoyed Lucas and Trinity’s story.
Lucas is loud and sweet and funny and determined to win over Trinity.
Trinity is a care taker, always putting others first, especially family.
Learning to open up to each other almost derails their journey but love wins in the end.
My favorite thing about Illegal Attraction by Kate Meader is that Lucas finds Trinity’s competence so sexy. I need a Lucas in my life. The first person POV might be off putting to some, but keep reading. Meader seamlessly switches from Lucas to Trinity’s POV and there is never a question who’s speaking. The back and forth makes the novel richer and much more fun to read. Both Lucas and Trinity have hidden depths that you are just going to have to read the book to discover.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this novel.
Laws of Attraction #2, Another good read from Kate Meader. The mischievous Brit, Lucas Wright, meets his match with whiskey sommelier, Trinity Jones. (I love that she was named for Trinity from The Matrix, my daughter was almost Trinity for the same reason) Told in the alternating first person POV you get an interesting look at both their worlds as they collide.
Lust at first sight and Lucas’ smart mouth doesn’t help matters in showing off although she seems immune to his charm. Trinity is use to his type but is impressed when he actually sticks around afterwards to apologize for his behaviour. Trinity should know better but she actually likes the guy, even after she finds out he’s representing her horrible brother-in-law she keeps running into him and he keeps proving he’s a better man than she thinks. For one he coaches her nephew’s soccer team, he’s more than willing to step up and help out when she gets sick and when the chips are down he’s willing to do the right thing. But unfortunately the biggest obstacle isn’t the fact that he’s her brother-in-law’s lawyer.
Both Trinity and Lucas have baggage they need to deal with, Trinity is way over protective of her sister always putting her sister first even it if meant hurting herself. Lucas has a past he doesn’t talk about, the people closest to him know of his twin sister and her situation but he doesn’t talk about his mom or his childhood. Trinity is one of the few who know the guilt he carries. The chemistry between the two of them is undeniable and strong. As much as they tried to keep it under control and not cross the ethical line Lucas received some sage advice from a friend that had him throw caution to the wind. Their relationship is pretty steamy and Lucas is capable of doing some pretty sweet gestures.
Overall, it was a good read. It caught me off guard the age difference but Lucas, when he’s not being a jokester, is very mature for his age and is far more intelligent for his year. This was a nice heartfelt romance with plenty of humor to keep it from being to somber. Can’t wait for the next one.

Have you read a book recently that had you laughing from the start? If not, gear up because you will be laughing at the antics of Lucas and Trinity.
Trinity is as straight-laced as it comes and she does not have time for relationships. She has played the mother to her sister, Emily, for years. Now that Emily is going through a gruesome divorce, she finds herself babying her sister even more. Insert Lucas and the attraction is there but it is a lot more complicated.
Lucas, of course, has his own demons to fight and his coping mechanism is to result to jokes Lucas is British which makes his character a lot more likable. From the moment he meets Trinity, he wants her but the vibe she gives off is anything but interested.
This is the first book I read by Kate Meader and I have to say I was downright impressed. Kate has this way of writing that makes a sticky situation all that more exciting to read about. Lucas is the lawyer of Trinity’s soon to be ex-brother-in-law. Needless to say, it puts them and their relationship in an awkward position as it is Lucas’ job to make Trinity’s sister, Emily, look like the bad person.
The question is, is their relationship doomed before it even starts?
I’ve read a few books by Kate Meader before, so I’m familiar with her writing. Illegally Yours is funny, sexy, and sniffle inducing. Lucas is a divorce attorney that unexpectedly finds himself falling for his client’s sister-in-law. Trinity is used to taking care of everyone else. She finds herself out of her comfort zone when Lucas steps in to take care of her and ends up making her more self aware. I really enjoyed reading this story and seeing both the hero and heroine work through their own self failings to discover the love they have for each other.
What a fun, sassy, humorous, sexy book! Who would of thought that the almighty Lucas Wright would fall hard for a whiskey loving, sassy mouthed woman! Loved the chemistry between these two characters, kept you wanting to turn the pages just to keep the great story going. I adore the British humor of Lucas, dry, but really mixes well with Trinity. Story was filled with laughter, but also tears, loved Lizzy, but the ending was definitely a tear jerker. I’ve read a few of this authors books, and have loved every single one of them. Great writing, flow of the story is awesome, and definitely has a range of emotions that honestly leaves you with the happy ending you hoped for. Can’t wait to read Grant’s story!!!!

The hottest slow burn in history!
Lucas is the fun guy, the life of the party, quick with a quip and doesn’t seem to take anything too seriously. Trinity tries hard to stay out of his orbit, thinking he’s just too young and too charming to be in it for the long game. But they just can’t seem to stay away from each other, even after they find out he’s the attorney for her sister’s soon-to-be ex.
This complicated relationship sets the stage for a slow, meaningful development of their attraction. Their romance takes on a life of its own, but they still have mountains to climb in the form of her sister and the pending divorce, and his sister’s long-term illness. Watching them discover just who their hearts belong to made for an exquisitely beautiful love story that was a complete joy to read. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
*sigh* Lucas…. When I first met him in Down with Love, I wanted to know everything about him. A charming Brit, yes please!!!
I loved Lucas but who I loved even more, Trinity. She’s so amazingly strong and loyal to her family. This book was an interesting spin on enemies to lovers. Lucas represents Trinity’s soon to be ex brother in law and even though their chemistry is off the charts, their relationship is totally forbidden.
This book was a lot heavier and angsty than I was expecting it to be but this story was fantastic. I loved all of the layers of Lucas and Trinity. There’s so much more to him than the charming British funny guy and more to her than the loyal whiskey sommelier.
I’m loving this series and I can’t wait for the next one!!

Trinity Jones has marched to her own drumbeat except when it comes to her family. She puts them above all else, even her own wants and needs. Lucas Wright is a hot shot divorce lawyer. He can make you laugh and smile but has his own reasons for being an advocate for fathers getting sole custody. When they meet, he wants her and she is no way, even when her lady parts are screaming for relief. These two are the same side of a coin. Both don’t let people in and both have secrets. They get each other and when they speak their mind, it all falls apart. So who becomes the bigger person? Wonderful read.
