Even if it would make me a millionaire overnight.
The land is more important to me and my family than gobs of money could ever be.
Instead, I’m happy with my modest little life: raising my niece, running my restaurant, and slamming the door in the face of every man who drives into town to give me an offer.

I loved this story. The characters were great, well developed and easy to relate to. There are a lot of feels with this, but in the end, it made me happy.
Claire is running her restaurant, caring for her niece and is happy with her life. She is getting calls and visits from people that want to buy the oceanfront property that she has. Claire is adamant that she isn’t going to sell and she doesn’t care about the money it could make her. She has no problem turning all the offers down, but when Peter walks into her restaurant things change.
Peter came to town to talk Claire into selling him her property, but now that he’s seen her, he knows that she is meant to be his. He likes that she is sassy, has curves and has no problem telling him like it is. Peter also likes that she doesn’t throw herself at him and actually seems to be fighting their attraction. He decides that he wants her and wants to have a life with her forever. Peter doesn’t care if that means he doesn’t get the land, as long as he gets Claire and her heart.
There were so many things that I loved about this story. The way Peter went with Claire to spend time doing one of her father’s favorite things. The way Claire started to soften and realize that sometimes compromise is needed. The way Cassie and Mike looked out for Claire and Brynn. It was an overall great story and very enjoyable. I suggest that you read this book for yourself!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
My new girlfriend and I just survived our first fight……….to bad she does not know she is his girlfriend yet!!!
I’ll Catch You is another wonderful short story by Lauren Milson about two people that are opposites in so many ways but yet when their paths cross they end up discovering just how much they belong together. Claire has been dealt some hard blows in her very short life. At nineteen she found herself losing both her parents and her older sister due to a drunk driver. Overnight she because the legal guardian to her young niece Brynn and running her family restaurant, which had been left to Brynn by her Claire’s father. Peter is a property developer who inherited the business from his father and runs it with his younger brother. He has his eye on the restaurant and one day pays it a visit to approach Claire about selling to him. It will make her very wealthy and also relieve the stress of trying to stay afloat with a business that is barely making any money. But she is not about to sell to him or anyone, having turned down a number of offers over the last few years. The restaurant was started by her maternal grandparents and her job is to keep it going because it means something, not only to her family but also to the small local town that is being slowly gentrified with the locals being pushed out.
Even though Claire sends Peter on his way in no uncertain terms he has taken a house for a week just up the road and is going to try and keep working on her, especially as he knows she is his after seeing her for the first time and also getting a taste of her feistiness and determination.
This is a sweet and sexy short story that is an entertaining read. The characters are well written, including the supporting characters of which Claire’s second cousin twice removed (or what ever she is) Cassie who is so funny and witty I was laughing out loud. My only complaint is that I wanted this book to be longer!!!
This is a cool glass of water on a hot day… or rather the hot day that warms the cooled water. Peter is sweet, tender, patient, loving, and just the right amount dominant. Claire is lost in giving and caring for others, sassy, headstrong, and very innocent in many regards. They have an instant connection that draws you in. There is a scene in here, their first time together, that is insanely HOT! I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
