My mother once said that angels come in many forms: people, animals, insects, flowers or even objects. Some stay with us for just a short time, helping us through difficult times, others stay forever, deep inside our soul, carrying us from one moment to the next. I always wanted to believe it was true, that maybe in a world where there was so much bad, there was still hope for some good. As I … grew older and the innocence of childhood waned, tainting my views on life, I was finding that perhaps it was just my mother’s way of feeding my young imagination. That all changed the day I met him.
You know that feeling you get deep inside your gut? The one that tells you something is dangerous, or something is meant to be. The one that sees the bad or good in a person before they even utter a single syllable to you. The one that rattles your very soul, making you question your own sanity because you know you must be completely mad for having such an intense connection to someone you’ve just met. That’s the feeling I had when I first saw him. It was so much more than his good looks, his charming personality and his caring ways. It was something unexplainable and unimaginable.
The first time we met, I felt it, and I was pretty certain he did too. Familiar strangers searching for someone, or something deep inside the other. Maybe I was losing my mind or maybe I was just caught up in a daydream of how I wished my life could be. But from the first moment I had gotten caught up in his gaze, I knew I had stared into those pale-blue eyes once before…maybe not in this lifetime, but perhaps a lifetime before.

This book . . . their story. . . this new to me author. . . There are so many things about this story and the skill the author uses to relay it. Having relatives that have and continue to live this life and identity makes the story more personal. The way the author introduces us to the characters and lays the series of events out pieces from the past mixed and mingle into the present, drawing us in, having us go thru time past and present to right a wrong. I loved the story, then I hated it. I wanted to just get to the point but I didn’t want to miss anything. August and Olivia, Grace and Matthew so many impacted by one action, the sins of the father, it seems to come to light time after time. It’s a brilliant story with characters you’ll love who will pull at your heartstrings, and ones you just pity for their ignorance while others are just a waste of space. This novel is so much more than a love story, it’s so much more than rectifying a past injustice, it’s a promise kept. She swore with her last breath to Matthew, “I’ll be seeing you.”
I’ll Be Seeing You by Beth Rinyu is a very unique story, as it intertwines lives from the present, but also from the past. We are introduced to Olivia who at 27 years old is feeling alone after losing the woman who raised her and August, whom she meets when she begins to care for his grandmother.
When Olivia and August first meet, it’s as if they have known each other for years, but they don’t understand the attraction and familiarity. Both have vivid dreams of scenarios from the past and are not sure if they actually happened. Throughout the book their story seems to parallel past experiences of others and the words and sentiment are beautiful.
“When someone we love dies; they never really leave us. They live on in different ways all around us, and if we’re lucky enough, we’ll cross paths with them again. It may not be the person we knew in life in the physical sense, but their soul that leads us back to them.”
I’m not usually a fan of paranormal books, but I truly could not put this book down. Ms. Rinyu is correct when she states “This is very different than anything she has written”. I did figure out where the story was heading, half way through, but it did not take away from the experience at all. The two worlds colliding made this a wonderful story and one I would highly recommend. The author’s message at the end spoke loudly to the world today, “We love who we love.”
Definitely a book, not to be missed. I look forward to the author’s next release.
I actually did like this book but I felt it dragged too long here and there.
Y’all! This book is phenomenal! Beth has stepped out of the box on this book and has nailed every single thing! You guys are going to fall in love with this story.
This is two love stories in one PHENOMENAL read. Olivia and August go through a journey of finding their love story while feeling and going through someone else’s. We get a little bit of a paranormal vibe but this book is SO MUCH MORE THAN that. You will be hooked from the very first page until the very last.
This book will have you going through so many emotions. Once you turn the last page your heart will be so full. Beth has really written a truly beautiful book.
This is MY FAVORITE BOOK of 2019. And I know it will be yours to.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!
