Relating the cycle of requests a mouse is likely to make after you give him a cookie takes the reader through a young boy’s day. Includes “The Great Cookie Chase” board game on back lining papers.
If You Give a Mouse a Cookie (If You Give…) by Laura Joffe Numeroff – All of these are adorable, but this is still my favorite. A perfect cause and effect book for little learners! Happy Reading!

Should be a read aloud for children who are cookie age or have been begging their parent for something. Read it often and then when they can read have them read it to you, and the cat, and a sibling or a favorite toy. There are follow up books to this one but before you read them. Write your own with your child. It will be easy!

We love books by Laura Joffe Numeroff and so we checked out, “If You Give a Mouse a Cookie.” In this book is about a hungry little traveler shows up at the house. He ask for a cookie which will want him to give milk. Follow this consequences of giving a cookie to this energetic mouse through this fun story.
The illustrations by Felicia Bond have created are so much fun. They really help tell the story that Laura Joffe Numeroff created. I loved this story and how it goes around to the very beginning again at the end. They are usually called round story. My kids love this story and giggle every time we read it. They love how that it starts with giving the mouse a cookie and then ends with giving the mouse a cookie.

I have loved this book forever! My kids are eleven and nine and I still can get them to stop what they are doing and listen to this book (or at least humor their Mom). It has such a rhythm and so much fun to read out loud. A must have for every family!

Let me start this by saying I am petrified of mice/rats. So for me to love this book so much is a testament to how adorable it is. Happy Harper is the little girl who has a thousand questions. Always asking, poking, prodding. Her energy is “what about this?”, “what about that?”, “this one too?!”, “huh!?! huh!?! huh!?!” She is this mouse.
